Hi, just found out after a long time trying! Haven't really told anyone yet so thought some ladies in the same position might want somewhere to share symptoms/stories/worries. Doesn't feel real yet and that 12 week scan seems a loooooong way off!! 😂

@megan81088 glad your scan went well lovely! My boobs have dyed down but I think I have a new symptom which is feeling nauseous after everything I eat! X

megan81088 · 20/01/2020 17:32

@CharlotteCx ahhh thank you! Oh no the nausea must be horrible In a way I’m glad I feel ok because I work in a very small office and it would be obvious if I was throwing up so really have to count myself lucky x

CharlotteCx · 20/01/2020 17:59

@megan81088 have you not had any symptoms the whole time or have they dyed off? Yeah just think yourself lucky! Some women have their head down the toilets all day long 🤢

megan81088 · 20/01/2020 18:21

@CharlotteCx my boobs are slightly tender but only if I prod them lol there’s been a few evenings where Iv felt a bit sick but apart from that I feel fine! How are you feeling? X

Jessem29 · 20/01/2020 18:30

Oh I am so jealous of you all with no symptoms. I have sickness all day e very day from about 6 weeks, I am now 9 weeks. Sick maybe 2-3 times a day but if I eat small and often (like every hour) I can cope. Iv had to tell my work as I am in a small office of 4 and I'm always eating! Count yourselves lucky ladies haha!! Xxx

CharlotteCx · 20/01/2020 19:15

@megan81088 yeah same as me with the boobs they only hurt when i prod them but even when they were at their worst they'd only hurt when prodded. Mine would burn too like someone had a lighter on my nipple! Yeah I'm ok, I just had fatigue and no appetite what so ever but appetite seems to be creeping back now and as I say feel sick after everything I eat! We're the lucky ones I think x

Martina2311 · 20/01/2020 19:25

Hi @megan81088 thats wonderful news, I am so happy you got your reassurance. And how amazing that we have exactly the same due date! 30.8. right? If we are not overdue, we might have the youngest children in the class 🙈

Does anyone know how it works? Do you need to send your child to school or can you wait until they turn 5?

Its good to know that even if you feel symptomless, everything is ok and you can really just consider yourself lucky! When is your main scan booked for?

Its quite strange but since about Saturday afternoon Ive started noticing my symptoms are again more intense. Especially yesterday and today. I've had a mild nausea most of the day, boobs more tender again, bloated after every small meal..cant eat big portions...mild heartburn and my sense of smell is more intense again. I work 3 long days a week -Wed-Fri and it almost seams like both of the last weeks my symptoms almost disappeared during those days..and then I got worried. Then over the weekend they returned both weeks. Not sure if it has something to do with the distraction at work but I shouldn't really complain if I feel a bit better then I guess. I'm not extremely tired yet, but using my days of to relax when I can...have a short nap here and there, just because I think it's good for me and just because I have a good excuse hahaha.

Martina2311 · 20/01/2020 19:32

@Jessem29 I have to support the 'always eating mode'. 😄 I think it really does help. It's quite a cliche advice you hear but it's so true. Eating small but frequently. I almost feel like I shouldn't let my stomach get even a little empty because I start feeling uneasy. That's on the days I have symptoms.

Today I woke up at 6 am when my partner was going to work and got hungry straight away as I could only manage a small portion for dinner yesterday..so I had to get up, eat and then went back to sleep. After dropping my son off to school I needed another breakfast to start feeling a bit better...then I had a 1,5 hr nap, woke up and went on to have a lunch 😄 I feel like I'm constantly eating but actually only have gained a little bit of weight straight away at the beginning and now keeping it same for a while.

What do you like to munch on during the day, what works for your nausea? I tend to like bananas, tangerines, pears, bread, crackers, bagels, yoghurt and oat biscuits. Always have something on me just in case. :)

Jessem29 · 20/01/2020 19:48

@Martina2311 ohh thank god I am not the only one haha!! Yes yoghurt, banana have been great for me, plain digestive biscuits! I have weetabix in the morning then a second breakfast about an hour later haha! I keep a rice Krispy cereal bar with me, they are low calorie. Oh I feel you. I woke up at 4am for the loo and had a cereal bar then! 🙈🙈. I asked my midwife about it on my booking and she said it's fine eat what I like after the sickness subsides I can eat normally again! We have our 12 week scan 3 weeks today! I cant wait. Especially to start feeling normal again. (Not that I want to moan, I feel very blessed!) Xx

Minniemee · 20/01/2020 20:15

@Martina2311 I'm a teacher and children born between April 1 - 31st August can start the September after they turn 5 if you wish them to! So it would just be a see how ready you think they are - they don't have to be at school until compulsory school age which is the 31st August after they turn 5. There's nothing wrong with sending them when they have just turned 4, but we do notice a huge difference between winter born and summer born babies right up until the end of year 2 when the gap gets smaller again xx

2019Mama · 20/01/2020 22:05

@ShiningStarz sorry to hear about your spotting. My scans at 10:45.. I’m trying to be positive, I too have spent today reading up on positive stories after heavy bleeds but also thinking of it wasn’t meant to be then it just wasn’t. Just hoping to get some answers tomorrow..

Martina2311 · 21/01/2020 07:52

@Minniemee thank you so much for the information, thats really helpful! Good to know we can decide how we feel. What happens if the child is born at the very beginning of September then? After the August 31st? Would they automatically start school the year after when they are 5?

I can imagine there is quite a difference between the summer babies and winter babies. My son is a November child so I was quite happy he was one of the oldest, especially because he is a boy.

I know the teachers are ready for these differences between children but I personally wouldnt want my little one to feel behind. But anyways, thats something we can judge then. :)

Martina2311 · 21/01/2020 08:05

@megan81088 aaah thats nice! You must have been really kindly surprised that you are 1 week further than you thought :) When they scanned me first, they found out I was 2 days more than what I thought. Just a small difference 😄

My main scan is booked for Feb 6th when I will be just 10+4..purely because my oculation got delayed the month we conceived so if they look at my last period dates, they think Im a bit further along. When I went to my first scan, the nurse mentioned this to the sonographer, if they should change the main scan date but she is said to leave it, which Im happy about...at least I dont have to wait too long. I had the same situation with my son. They scanned me at 10 weeks or so and asked me to come back in about 10 days for a rescan as they couldnt do the measurements they needed, so I got an extra scan 😁

You can mention it at your midwife's and see what she says. 13 weeks might be too far, but maybe I'm wrong.

ShiningStarz · 21/01/2020 09:31

@2019Mama ❤️

Martina2311 · 21/01/2020 12:17

@2019Mama thinking if you too lovely. Really hope you get some good news! ❤

Martina2311 · 21/01/2020 12:22

@ShiningStarz fingers crossed for you too lovely! Stay positive...fingers crossed you are just one of the cases that have this meaningless spooting but actually everything is fine. 💐

ml01omm · 21/01/2020 13:07

Just bumping this thread to check-in on how everyone is feeling?

i am now 9+5 - and for the past 3 days I have woken up and suddenly felt 'normal'. In fact after weeks of forcing myself to eat, I am now ravenous.

This is actually making me really worried that something has gone wrong, and my scan is still over 2 weeks away.

Has this happened to anyone else?

CharlotteCx · 21/01/2020 13:19

@ml01omm I am 8+5 today & had to force myself to eat for weeks I went off all food, was so tired sore breasts etc. Last week I woke up back to normal again & I went for a private scan on Friday and baby was fine .. they said symptoms just come & go! They get less as the placenta takes over.

WorriedButterfly · 21/01/2020 14:31

@ml01omm I am the same 9+1 and far fewer symptoms as of Sunday, yet everything I read says 9 weeks is in the thick of it. I may have another private scan next week or hold out til 12 weeks.

IslayBrigid · 21/01/2020 14:38

Hey everyone, been a while since I checked in. Sounds like lots of developments happening! :)
