Hi, just found out after a long time trying! Haven't really told anyone yet so thought some ladies in the same position might want somewhere to share symptoms/stories/worries. Doesn't feel real yet and that 12 week scan seems a loooooong way off!! 😂

@Beth804 @ButterflyRuns huge congratulations! Twins!!! Amazing ❤️❤️

Zm2019 · 14/01/2020 19:56

Had our first midwife appointment this morning all went well.
Very long 2 hours lol.
My bmi is high so been told I will have extra appointments during the next few months which means extra scans so cant complain too much.
Just need to wait for letter to confirm scan date and next midwife in March.

Also told our close friends and my work today which was very exciting.

kersh33 · 15/01/2020 09:22

@Jessem29 Congratulations on your scan! It's great to see all is as it should be, isn't it!

kersh33 · 15/01/2020 09:23

@Zm2019 Good to hear your first appointment went well! Hope your scan date is soon!

GalaxyGirl24 · 15/01/2020 13:16

@Zm2019 hey, glad your midwife appt went well. We have ours coming up next week. If you don't mind me asking, how high do they class high as for BMI as I'm pretty sure mine will be about 29/30? I too quite like the idea of extra scans as I've already paid for one private one at 6 weeks and having another tonight at 7+3 (tiny bit paranoid as my nausea has been on and off and now isn't too bad so convinced something is wrong - probably worrying too much)!

IslayBrigid · 15/01/2020 13:30

Hi ladies - I stopped getting notifications for some reason so just catching up. I'm 7+2 now and nausea has been quite strong last few days, spewed up on Monday but it's died down a little today. Seems to be coming and going. Not too bad though and I find nibbling on things really helps.
I have my first midwife appt on Monday so looking forward to that!
Congrats to @ButterflyRuns and @Beth804 on your twins!!!

Zm2019 · 15/01/2020 15:51

Galaxygirl24 sounds like you will be fine. At our hospital if bmi is between 35 and 39 they refer you to antenatal care where I will have extra growth scans, glucose tolerance test, maybe a dietician and advised to go on delivery suite instead of the midwife site. Which I would have done anyway as I needed forceps on previous pregnancy.

Hope all goes well tonight. X

Arc86 · 15/01/2020 17:02

I’ve not been getting any thread notifications so just been reading through everyone’s posts to catch up. Glad everyone is well and congrats on the twin discoveries! I’m 7+5 now and have my booking appointment early next week. I’ve been passing brown blood the last two days and it seems to have coincided with an easing of my nausea. Needless to say I’m worried! I rang my midwife and she has assured me I should only worry if the blood is bright red. Very hard not to fret though!. There doesn’t seem to be any option for private scans in my area so it’s gonna be a very long wait until I hit 12 weeks.

GalaxyGirl24 · 15/01/2020 18:19

@Zm2019 thanks so much for the info, also the scan went well thanks. I think I'm definitely working myself up too much - first baby though and first time being pg so no clue what's normal for me

GalaxyGirl24 · 15/01/2020 18:20

@Zm2019 hope everything goes nice and smoothly with your pregnancy :) sounds like there'll be lots of check ins with medical staff which is nice

kersh33 · 15/01/2020 21:57

@Arc86 I have been spotting brown blood every day for about 3 weeks now but my gynaecologist seems to be happy with it.
I had a scan last week at just under 7 weeks which ruled out an ectopic pregnancy and I just got told to stop running and to come back in a month. 🤷‍♀️

So I figure it's probably fine - still worry about it a little from time to time!

Arc86 · 15/01/2020 23:04

Thanks @kersh33, that’s reassuring. I had been running too but stopped this week when the bleeding started. I guess this is just the beginning of a life time of worry for us all!

Martina2311 · 17/01/2020 13:15

Hi ladies, havent been here for a while as busy at work. I should be about 7+5 today and I have to say that I'm feeling worried again. At 6+2 we had our first scan which showed a heartbeat and around that time I felt the most pregnant. I had nausea, advesions, tender breasts, high smell...shortly after the scan this seemed to have disappeared for a few days but came back in not as bad version..much milder but it was there, so I felt better. But today is again the third day when I feel absolutely normal..no bloating or other symptoms accept a little bit of breast sensitivity when I really feel them around and try to find it. I didnt have it bad at all with my first pregnancy..with my son..but with my miscarriage it seams like my only symptom (my sore breasts) gradually disappeared. This time definitely felt more real last week with much more symptoms but now I feel like they are gone. It cant be that the developing placenta is easying it off so much already? Does anyone have anything reassuring to say as I am getting really worried :( I've booked myself a private scan this Sunday to find out more.

Martina2311 · 17/01/2020 13:16

Meant to type "aversions" not advesions

Jessem29 · 17/01/2020 14:15

@Martina2311 Hi lovely. I am so sorry your feeling so anxious. It really is an awful time. I have not experienced this myself but in the past I have had all symptoms and sickness and unfortunately still miscarried. So I really woudnt symptom spot too much as your body really does play tricks on you.

I really hope that helps a little. I completely understand though, I have had 2 scans (one private and one nhs) and I am 8weeks 5 days and the scans are great but after a little bit the reassurance soon wears off! I hope everything goes well in sunday! Xxx

megan81088 · 17/01/2020 15:05

@Martina2311 I feel exactly the same I’m 7+1 and I felt totally different last week than to how I do this week! Last weekend I could barely eat where I was so sick and now I feel totally normal my boobs are only sore if I really poke them whereas last week I couldn’t even lay on my front Iv also booked a scan for this Sunday as I’m so worried I really didn’t think it was normal for symptoms to disappear so quickly

CharlotteCx · 17/01/2020 15:49

@megan81088 @Martina2311 exactly the same here! 8+1 & Iv been really really lightly spotting too on and off sometimes brown sometimes pale pink I went to EPU Tuesday and they said they aren't concerned as I have a cyst on left ovary. But my boob tenderness has reduced loads & my appetite is creeping back! I have also booked a private scan for tonight even though I had a NHS scan last Friday and they said everything was ok. Just need that reassurance 🙈

megan81088 · 17/01/2020 16:12

@CharlotteCx good luck for tonight let us know how it goes! I’m feel so nervous about Sunday I’m praying I get some reassurance x

Martina2311 · 17/01/2020 16:14

@CharlotteCx it's so worrying isn't it! And I feel like anything can change so quickly. Please let us know how you go. I will keep my fingers crossed!

CharlotteCx · 17/01/2020 16:20

It really is worrying - I just feel like the only way I can have a peace of mind is if I see the heartbeat on the screen. So many people told me how common spotting is and symptoms coming & going but it's just not enough for me. I'll let you know how it goes!
