Hi, just found out after a long time trying! Haven't really told anyone yet so thought some ladies in the same position might want somewhere to share symptoms/stories/worries. Doesn't feel real yet and that 12 week scan seems a loooooong way off!! 😂

@mammasj answer to your personal question. We are currently not having sex. 1. I am too tired to even think about it. 2 I'm nervous in the 12 weeks.
Apparently yes it is safe but I will wait till I am out of the first trimester and had my 1st scan at 12 weeks.

Zm2019 · 11/01/2020 19:33

@butterflyruns many Congratulations to you. I keep worrying about twins but I keep thinking I would have more symptoms if I was or I would have more cramps. What early symptoms did you or are still having. X

Mammasj · 11/01/2020 19:41

@Zm2019 thank you for your response! This is exactly what I'm doing too. I'm just too nervous. My DH thinks I'm crazy 🤦🏽‍♀️😂 X

Beth804 · 12/01/2020 07:55

@CharlotteCx How are you doing? Xx

@Beth804 I'm good! How're you? I had another scan Friday a dating scan he pushed me 5 days back but said not to really go by his dates as they can change and to go by the dates they give at the 12 week scan. I'll upload a photo of my little bean, I can't believe how much it has grown from the scan the week before!!! Have you had a scan yet?

I should be 8weeks tomorrow and everything seems to have subsided, smells annoy me but don't totally gross me out, nausea could be from worry - not a strong as it was, breast a bit tender but not ouch. Just so worried ☹️

WorriedButterfly · 12/01/2020 11:08

...sorry I just needed to vent! I had a scan on Tuesday which was fine, but to have another seems excessive- but if it's gone wrong I'd rather be dealing with it. I found out I'd had a MMC at 9 wks previously.hope everyone is doing well. X

Ginblooded · 12/01/2020 11:11

@WorriedButterfly I was 8 weeks yesterday and a lot of my symptoms have reduced too.. I'm no longer nauseous (although I have been dry heaving 🤢 and I was cleaning a plate yesterday and was sick.. didn't have nausea before it though!)
Boobs are a little tender but no longer particularly sore. Tiredness is still strong though 😴
Midwife wasn't concerned when I told her at my booking appointment as long as I hadn't had any bleeding so 🤷‍♀️

WorriedButterfly · 12/01/2020 11:34

Thanks @Ginblooded appreciate the reassurance. x

empeaches · 12/01/2020 14:39

My nausea just seems to be getting worse... I feel sick every hour of the day and not much seems to be helping. Even waking up in the middle of the night feeling sick. This is miserable!

ButterflyRuns · 12/01/2020 18:17

@Zm2019 Thank you! I didn't really suspect I was having twins but in hindsight I did gain weight quite quickly and my morning sickness has been awful (still is so I feel you on the nausea @empeaches, hopefully it'll get better.. she says) as well as feeling really tired all of the time.

Is anyone else already weighing up their opinions about working after their pregnancy? I know it's a long time ahead but I am. I feel like I would've been fine with going back to work after maternity leave with one baby, but with two that young I'm not that sure of what to do.

Beth804 · 12/01/2020 20:01

@CharlotteCx Ahh that's fab!! 😍 My scan is tomorrow, I'm sooo nervous!

@Beth804 Fingers crossed for you tomorrow!

CharlotteCx · 12/01/2020 22:58

@Beth804 😍 it's not unusual to be nervous Iv had 2 early scans now for various reasons and each time I really panicked. I was even sick on Friday morning before my scan and I haven't been sick yet! So was clearly nerves.

CharlotteCx · 13/01/2020 14:10

@Beth804 how's your scan go?

FingersXssd83 · 13/01/2020 17:15

Congrats @ButterflyRuns! We put two embryos back and have our 7 week scan on Thurs so will find out it it's one or two (hopefully there's at least one there!). I've put a bit of weight on but unsure if it's due to meds or my hunger, and haven't really had any other symptoms other than mildly sore bbs.

I've been thinking about work too. I have a career and we're very lucky that my DH has a great job, but we'll have waited 4 years for our baby and I can't think about returning to work, especially going back full time and with a 2.5 hour commute on top. That said, I don't want to lose my skills (my industry moves v quickly) and I'm
on the cusp of promotion, but having a happy family is more important. I guess I'll know when baby arrives 🤷🏻‍♀️

2019Mama · 13/01/2020 17:30

@Mammasj in answer to your question we still are having sex.. I was worried in my first pregnancy but everything I read says it has no effect on baby

Beth804 · 13/01/2020 19:22

@CharlotteCx @kersh33 Thanks! All was great thanks, but I'm joining you @ButterflyRuns with twins!! 🙀

Totally in shock, already have a DD and never thought I'd have 3 kids!!!

Over the moon, but scared shitless!

@Beth804 omg! That's amazing! Have you got a photo? Did they date you further along or behind?

Mammasj · 13/01/2020 19:46

Congratulations @Beth804 🎉🎉 xx

Beth804 · 13/01/2020 19:55

Thanks @Mammasj!
@CharlotteCx Dates were bang on at 7+6! Can't see much on the pics, she said it was just one to start with, then found the other one hiding!!

@Beth804 wow congratulations!! 🎉🎉

Zm2019 · 13/01/2020 19:56

@Beth804 many Congratulations to you also. My sisters were twins and it was lovely watching them grow up together.

Mammasj · 13/01/2020 20:02

@Beth804 do you know if they are identical or fraternal twins!!? 😃 xx

ButterflyRuns · 13/01/2020 20:14

@Beth804 Massive congratulations!! Flowers It'll be so nice to have someone here with the same experience of a twin pregnancy. I bet it was such a shock when she found the other one!

@FingersXssd83 Good luck for Thursday! I feel the same way, I can't imagine how I'll go back to work after having 2 babies and I feel like it might be best to take a few years out. I've done very well in my career and tbh, put work before my personal life in my 20s & 30s but now I'm in a different stage of life. My DH has a good job and while we'd take a financial hit we'd still be fine. Still time to decide though like you said
