Hi, just found out after a long time trying! Haven't really told anyone yet so thought some ladies in the same position might want somewhere to share symptoms/stories/worries. Doesn't feel real yet and that 12 week scan seems a loooooong way off!! 😂

@Beth804 how exciting! Is it the 12 week one?

Had one half of my booking in appointment yesterday (they like to split it into 2 appointments here - don't know if they do that everywhere?) and got my next two appointments booked in!

Cannot wait for my 12 week scan! I'll be 12 weeks on the 8th feb so I imagine it'll be a following weekday 🎉 boobs have been much less sore lately so trying not to focus on that 😐

Bicki · 10/01/2020 11:38

How exciting!! X

Mrs71 · 10/01/2020 11:46

@kersh33 I'm 7 weeks today so I'm hoping I'll get my booking in appointment soon. I don't even know who to contact about it. Did you get a phone call or letter through the post about it?

I'm still spotting too but I feel better about it I'm so tempted to book another scan in at 8 weeks next week though. 🙊 x

kersh33 · 10/01/2020 11:50

@Mrs71 I'm in France so our system is completely different so I can't help with the booking in appointment, but I'm sure the other ladies on this thread will be able to help, though I think it can vary from area to area.

kersh33 · 10/01/2020 11:53

And I get wanting another scan! I'm trying really hard to be patient until February. I can't even really talk to DH about it as he is sooo much more patient than me! He doesn't get the anxiety in the same way as me I think. In his mind we've been told it's fine, so there's not much to do until the next scan and to assume all is well.

Ginblooded · 10/01/2020 12:08

@kersh33 I phoned my gp, receptionist was lovely and said I go straight to see a midwife and she booked it in for me over the phone 😊

Beth804 · 10/01/2020 16:25

@Ginblooded @kersh33 Thanks girls! I'll be 7w5d I think 🤞🤞🤞

Thanks Girlies. Bra shopping in the couple of weeks then lol.

With regards to booking in. I had to fill out a form on our local hospital website and then call my doctors to book me in for the midwife at 8 weeks. I have mine booked for Tuesday I'll be 7+5. We will then tell close friends.

Vialarooski · 10/01/2020 21:09

Hi everyone!
Congratulations to everyone new that's joined!
And congratulations to all those who have had scans and seen their little dot!
We've booked one for around the 9week mark, I'm 6w2d at the moment. So ages to wait. I'm feeling really anxious, no real symptoms, no real feeling of being pregnant, and worried of MC but i have my 16month old to keep my mind off it.
Anyone else have the same feelings?

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 10/01/2020 22:00

I know how you feel it does feel like an awfully long time until 12 weeks doesn’t it ?!

Mammasj · 10/01/2020 22:05

@Vialarooski I feel exactly the same. Apart from being tired, I have no symptoms and am worried all the time. I'm probably tired from worrying. I had sore boobs on my other two pregnancies and no sore boobs this time.

Can I ask everyone a really personal question!? 🤦🏽‍♀️ is everyone still continuing to have sex? Is it safe in early pregnancy do you think? 🤷🏻‍♀️

ButterflyRuns · 11/01/2020 00:37

Hi @Mrs71 and everyone else, welcome to newbies! Midnight post as I’m struggling to sleep, anyone else struggling at nights? Sorry for the late update on the scan - the last few days have been hectic to say the least.

Found out at my scan on Wednesday that I’m expecting TWINS! They were thankfully able to tell me that they’re identical so no wait for that and everything seems to be going smoothly but it obviously came as a massive shock as I hadn’t even considered it.

I’m quite worried about the pregnancy knowing the risks that come with twins especially with these weeks leading up to the 12 week scan being so important but I couldn’t be happier that my family is growing by two. I feel like I’m going to show to others pretty fast so honestly not sure when to let my employer and friends know. Thanks for all the well wishes Flowers

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 11/01/2020 07:18

Wow twins !!!!!!!!! Amazing !!!! Congratulations !

Yes also tossing and turning a lot at night and finding it difficult to get comfy!!!

Ginblooded · 11/01/2020 07:41

@ButterflyRuns oh my gosh, Congratulations, what amazing news!!

kersh33 · 11/01/2020 07:59

@ButterflyRuns That's quite some news!! Congratulations!

I'm generally sleeping OK but just waking up mega early and can't get back to sleep which is pretty annoying so feel tired a lot of the time.

Pregnancy symptoms are pretty hit and miss, it feels like everyone gets something a bit different. I've got the sore boobs but that's pretty much it. I have a bit of gas but no bloating and nausea seems to have passed me by so far (fingers crossed!). So there aren't any hard and fast rules!

KittieKath · 11/01/2020 08:44

@ButterflyRuns twins! How wonderful. And identical too... super cute! Two couple friends of ours recently had twins... both first time parents. And they are doing just fine! Busy but happy and in a good routine... :-)

@kersh33 you were forbidden from running? Do you mind if I ask why? I thought running was ok.. though I have just bought some swimming headphones as may try and swim more. Bit spenny though - ouch!

I also spoke to a trainer at my gym about personal training to work on back strength, pelvic floor etc but SAFELY, obvs.

I figure all the cash I would usually spend on booze can go on fitness instead! Tee hee...

KittieKath · 11/01/2020 08:48

FAO Anyone who has had early viability scans and is in London - can you recommend a good place to go? How far in advance did you book?

I want to have one at about 6w4d - as I go on holiday and if it isn't good news can at least drown my sorrows!

Ginblooded · 11/01/2020 09:56

Eeek, got my 12 week scan date today for the 10th feb 😁 this month needs to hurry up already!

kersh33 · 11/01/2020 12:06

@KittieKath I thought it was fine to keep running too, especially as I'm an established runner and had kept up with my routine prior to my first appointment, but as I have unexplained bleeding my gynae basically said to stop, brisk walking is OK but running is out.

I was tempted to keep running as so much of my own research said it was OK, but on the other hand I wouldn't forgive myself if something went wrong. So I am doing a minimum of 30 minutes brisk walking every day. It won't be the same and I am a bit worried about weight gain but I figure if I stick to it religiously and do a bit more on weekends (did an hour today at just over 6 km/hr) it might be enough to get me through.

I'm a bit sad about losing all my fitness though, but I guess it's something most pregnant women have to live with!

Mrs71 · 11/01/2020 12:15

@ButterflyRuns wow congratulations how amazing! That's so cute.

@ginblooded have you had your booking appointment through too? I don't know who to call my gp referred me to the midwife he said they'll contact me regarding the booking appointment and scan but I haven't heard anything.

Ginblooded · 11/01/2020 12:39

@Mrs71 I had half my booking appointment last Thursday and have the other half on the 22nd! I phoned my gp who booked me into see the midwife

ButterflyRuns · 11/01/2020 13:02

Thank you everyone! Really didn’t see it coming but I’ve always wanted to have two & getting pregnant again with a little one might’ve been hard so may as well get it out the way quickly Grin

@KittieKath Same position I find myself in! Really scary with it being my first time but like you say, when they’re here in all their cuteness it’ll all be worth it & I’m sure we’ll manage ourselves into a routine too. Still doesn’t feel real since August seems so far away now. Not looking forward to being huge!

MissStripeyPants · 11/01/2020 13:10

Hi all!
According to calculators I am just over 9 weeks and have a date for 12 week scan on 3rd Feb. It seems so far away! I felt really naesueos around week 7/8 but it has gone away again now. Just feeling bloated all the time! Midwife said I should be due around 13th August based on my last period.

This is our first pregnancy so not sure what to expect! So nervous and excited for the 12 week scan to make it all feel a bit more real! Smile

Loving reading all of your comments!

ButterflyRuns · 11/01/2020 13:15

Congratulations @MissStripeyPants! Flowers

I’ll be seeing my midwife for the booking appointment on Tuesday regarding previous posts. Honestly nervous, what kind of things do they ask? (Silly question, I know)

Duffy23 · 11/01/2020 16:14

Hi ladies ❤❤. How is everyone. I am starting to get really nauseous in the evenings and throwing up then 😩😩 . Also feeling exhausted! How is everyone else? I am 7 weeks today so excited!
