Hi, just found out after a long time trying! Haven't really told anyone yet so thought some ladies in the same position might want somewhere to share symptoms/stories/worries. Doesn't feel real yet and that 12 week scan seems a loooooong way off!! 😂

Hi ladies, went to EPU today for some reassurance because I couldnt wait any longer and received some good news. 6+2 today and a visible heartbeat. I was and still am quite emotional and overwhelmed. I know it's still really early but so happy that everything is as it should be right now. Next scan I am planning is at 8 weeks. Hoping our baby is strong and can hold on tight this time. ❤

Congrats to all the newbies! I'm 6w1d and starting to have nausea. Waiting till my 12 week scan feels like forever.

@Mrs71 good luck for your scan! My fingers are crossed it's all just normal. I'm sure it will be.
@KittieKath really interested by this blood test you speak of - do you remember what it's called and where you can get it? Never heard of it before.

Interesting about the sleeping probs I am also struggling to get to sleep! Didn't think it was due to pregnancy but sounds like maybe it is!

@Ginblooded I know what you mean about the symptoms coming and going. I also feel a bit like that! I'm thinking it's natural tho. Everyone experiences it slightly different.

I just booked a massage and the lady said as a precaution I cant have my traps massaged as it might bring on miscarriage 😰 who knew!

For those looking for a tea fix rooibos or redbush (same thing) is very nice and tastes a bit like normal tea and is naturally caffiene free, if decaf isn't your thing. Might be good to Check process for decaffeination too if you're drinking a lot, as some companies use chemicals to decaffinate (ignore me if that's just another worry you don't want). ❤️

IslayBrigid · 07/01/2020 13:41

@Martina2311 congratulations!!! Such great news you must be so relieved and happy! Yay.

@Pralinehalo I highly recommend the Positive Birth book by Millie hill, if you're getting into books already!! What ones did you get?? X

Happyhippie88 · 07/01/2020 14:07

Ive switched to decaff coffee except for my morning and post afternoon school run coffee. Found giving up cigarettes easier then coffee 😂

Carlajoannexx · 07/01/2020 14:19

Hi,

Jumping on this thread as last Thursday (2nd Dec) after missing my period (30th Dec) I decided out of curiosity to do a test, and got a clear blue BFP 2-3 weeks.
So from the dates of my LMP (2nd Dec) I am currently 5 weeks & 1 day pregnant! Meaning we should be due approximately 7th September 2020! Any others around this time?

1st midwife appointment has been booked for Thursday 16th, which should mean that I will be 6 weeks 3 days at the time.

Just a little worried, as because we wasnt TTC, I have obviously drank over xmas and ate everything in sight! Has anyone else had this problem? Will I be okay? I am trying not to worry too much as I dont want to cause unnecessary stress but any help would be appreciated! :)

Duffy23 · 07/01/2020 15:19

@CarlaJoannexx I wouldn't worry that much as it is so early. I found out Boxing Day & had drank a good bit before I found out. I am due at the end of August. It feels like an eternity away!! How are you feeling? X I just wish it was 12 weeks so I could tell people!

Carlajoannexx · 07/01/2020 15:22

@Duffy23 ahh thank you so much that makes me feel so much better! I don’t feel as guilty now :’) aww congratulations - so exciting! I know what you mean, 12 weeks feels like an eternity! Excited to see the little blob on the screen for the first timeSmile! At the moment other than sensitive boobs and a lot of bloating/gas (sorry TMI lol) I’m actually feeling pretty normal! How about yourself? X

Duffy23 · 07/01/2020 15:39

I am the exact same @CarlaJoanneXx esp the gas 😬😬 my OH was like what are you eating 😂. I am 34 & it's our first baby it's so exciting xx

Mrs71 · 07/01/2020 15:40

@Islaybrigid thank you hope all goes well.

@Islaybrigid & KittieKath
I think it's called the harmony blood test? Where it takes the DNA from the baby and tests it. I've researched this too it's around £400 to have it done.

Carlajoannexx · 07/01/2020 15:42

@Duffy23 glad it’s not just me then🤣 that’s the thing too, it’s a case of what am I not eating, I can’t stop 🤣 aww well congratulations to you both 💗 this is also our first, so we are on a similar pregnancy journey which is lovely xx

KittieKath · 07/01/2020 15:43

@Carlajoannexx I think I will be due around the 14th Sept, so pretty close in timings.

I know SO MANY people who drank shitloads before they found out they were preggo. One friend didn't find out until 8weeks and was just back from a boozy holiday in Spain. All their babes are perfect!

No-one knows until 4weeks. So really do not worry... The little bean doesn't even connect to blood supply until 5/6weeks, so until then it's freely bobbing around in your tubes and uterus. Just be good now - and get some Pregnacare vitamins ordered asap. :-)

@Pralinehalo It's petrifying isn't it! I ant stop testing to 'check' it's still there. Need to chill the fuck out! ha ha ha!! I mean, if it managed to get through Xmas and NYE then it's obviously a strong one, right???

@IslayBrigid No I do not know the name! And I don't really want to ask my friend who had it... as I haven't even told my mum yet, ha ha!! I have googled to not much avail. I have seen the NIPT test, but also lots of bad feedback about this too www.bbc.co.uk/news/stories-47150878

Looking forward to get big, fat and grumpy with you all!!

Lucy5546 · 07/01/2020 15:46

@CarlaJoanneXx i am roughly 5 weeks too. I was actively TTC but took a break over xmas and new year. I was the same as you. Ate and drank everything. I have researched though and the placenta is not formed yet so i dont think it should be an issue. Think about the many people who dont find out until later. Since i found out i changed my habits and that made me feel better. Focus on the positives.!!

Carlajoannexx · 07/01/2020 15:47

@KittieKath awww how lovely we are very close in dates then! And thank you so much for putting my mind at ease - guilt was really beginning to take over but feeling so much more relieved now after talking to you ladies xxx

Carlajoannexx · 07/01/2020 15:48

@Lucy5546 thank you so much for this! Since finding out last week I’ve started taking folic acid, changed my habits etc and I’m feeling a lot better already ☺️ Congratulations on your lovely news xxx

Miltonj · 07/01/2020 15:49

Hi, hope I can join in!
Got my positive on Thursday and according to last period 6 + 4... so due late August/early September, don't know when I ovulated so just approx! Got my booking appointment with midwife on Friday, excited for that!
I miscarried back in March so I'm a bit nervous but also hopeful.... at least I know what to expect this time around!! Also feeling a bit overwhelmed as am getting married in June, so could be 6 or 7 months pregnant! A lot to sort out ConfusedConfused

Lovely to see so many positives 😊😊😊

Lucy5546 · 07/01/2020 15:53

@Carlajoannexx i found out the weekend and like you i changed straight away. Thank you and congrats to you too. I am finding the tiredness very hard already and sore nipples. Other than that i dont really have symptoms. What about everyone else??

Carlajoannexx · 07/01/2020 15:56

@Lucy5546 aww thank you! Yes the tiredness is real, I’m usually full of energy but lately I’m sleeping right through and struggling to get up 🤣 I have tender boobs and stuck out nipples, and feeling hungry all the time! Other than that so far so good!🤞🏼 Xx

SavanahXx · 07/01/2020 20:01

Congratulations to all the newest BFPers 😊 I hope all your pregnancies are going smoothly!X

ButterflyRuns · 07/01/2020 20:23

Congratulations ladies who’ve joined, just catching up with today’s posts Flowers Getting so nervous for my early scan tomorrow now but I’m sure all will be fine and definitely excited to see on a scan for the first time, it’ll all finally seem real!
Managed to get back to work today with relatively few problems & felt better than I did over the weekend but I suppose the nausea comes and goes. Also really struggling with tiredness/fatigue like some of you mentioned yet finding it difficult to sleep at night, any advice for better sleep would be appreciated!

@Mrs71 I think I might get the Harmony Test despite the steep price because I’ve only heard positive things about it, just need to speak with DH about it.

SavanahXx · 07/01/2020 20:27

Good luck for tomorrow @ButterflyRuns I'll have my fingers crossed for you, sendingFlowers

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 07/01/2020 20:39

Has anyone else had brown spotting ? Just wondering if this is normal or I should be worried

Mrs71 · 07/01/2020 20:47

@MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee yes me! I've had it on and off for the last 3 days very light tho. I had it in my knickers like spotting Saturday and Sunday then it stopped now it's only there when I wipe. I have a scan at the epu tomorrow it is quite common though but can't help but feel so nervous and anxious.

@ButterflyRuns I am too, I have done quite a lot of research on it too. It is expensive but worth it I think. It's after 11 weeks isn't it that you can have it done. Hoping everything stays ok with me.

ButterflyRuns · 07/01/2020 20:54

@Mrs71 It’s 10 weeks for the Harmony Test I think, just read on a clinic’s website that “Harmony Testing is a non-invasive prenatal testing that can be carried out after 10 weeks of pregnancy.” And I agree it seems worthwhile since it’s almost 100% accurate so you really can’t get any better than it.

Thank you @SavanahXx Flowers

ButterflyRuns · 07/01/2020 20:56

Good luck with your scan tomorrow also @Mrs71 Flowers Will have you in my thoughts, I think the spotting is quite common
