Hi, just found out after a long time trying! Haven't really told anyone yet so thought some ladies in the same position might want somewhere to share symptoms/stories/worries. Doesn't feel real yet and that 12 week scan seems a loooooong way off!! 😂

Hi guys.
Congratulations on your Pregnancies! Crazy, emotional time isn’t it. Super exciting but somewhat terrifying to.
I keep going between the two. Mostly anxiety and terror. Thinking of going private for an early scan. I’m 6+5 based on my LMP. The most worrying thing is the lack of symptoms. Slightly sore nipples (not even whole boob!) and I guess a bit emotional. I’m just hoping everything is ok. This is my first.

Maggie272 · 06/01/2020 11:43

@Sanya congratulations! Had a similar experience to you. Hope you are doing well xxx

ButterflyRuns · 06/01/2020 12:27

Congratulations ladies! Flowers Anyone else dealing with morning sickness? I already feel terrible and couldn’t manage going back to work today (Not like me to have a day off)

ButterflyRuns · 06/01/2020 12:29

@Lizalou88 I’m also thinking of going private for an early scan because I really don’t think I can wait another month and feel the same as you so I’m going to look into it later today

Laurab329 · 06/01/2020 13:05

Hi ladies! I’m currently 6 weeks 1 day. This is my second pregnancy as I miscarried in November 2019 at almost 8 weeks. It took us a full year to fall pregnant the first time, then this time it was the first cycle following the MC! Absolutely terrified of it happening again as I get closer to 8 weeks. I’ve been having cramps on and off and sore boobs. I don’t really have any sickness yet. The cramps are the worst bit, I’m constantly checking for blood when I go to the toilet. Does anyone else have this? Just hope these next 6 weeks hurry up! I daren’t go for an early scan as we had one last time and saw the baby and a heartbeat, but a week later it was all over 😢 xx

Vialarooski · 06/01/2020 13:39

@Laurab329
I'm totally the same! Cramps and sore boobies, and rushing to toilet to check for blood.

We had a mmc when trying for our first. Baby died at 8 weeks but we didn't find out until we went to our 12 week scan. It was absolutely devastating. Fell pregnant 4 months later with DD, she's 16months now. This is my first pregnancy since having her and I'm really anxious! I keep worrying at the lack of symptoms! I don't feel that tired, I don't feel like I'm constantly needing the toilet, don't feel sick etc. But then I have to reassure myself that worrying won't help and to just keep healthy and happy. What will be will be, but we can help by remaining calm.

For our second we had a early scan at 9.5 weeks, which was very reassuring and not long to wait until the first nhs scan. Perhaps wait (if you can) until around 9/10 weeks for an early scan if you want one.
I would love an early scan but financially I don't think we can afford it right now!

Mammasj · 06/01/2020 13:53

Hi @Laurab329, I'm so sorry you went through that 😥 it sounds awful. Congratulations on this pregnancy though and I hope this will be a full and healthy pregnancy for you!

I can assure you that checking the loo roll every time you go loo is totally normal! Lol I done it throughout both my pregnancies and I'm doing it again now lol. I feel like I'm going to get my period any minute! Very crampy today! I hate these worrying weeks. But we have to remember it is all out of our hands. All we can do is wait and hope! I was going to get a private scan at 8/9 weeks but your story has made me think twice now xx

ButterflyRuns · 06/01/2020 13:57

'@Laurab329 I've not had any cramping yet, but morning sickness has been kicking my ass the last two days, going to have to get it together so I can go into work tomorrow (the joys). Completely get why you're scared of having an early scan after that, sending you all my thoughts for a happy pregnancy & everyone else having nerves about theirs like I am Flowers

I've just managed to book an early scan on Wednesday at 5pm, surprised I managed to get in so quickly. I'll let you all know how it goes, fingers crossed! I'm probably just more anxious than I need to be, but I really can't help myself with this being my first pregnancy and being 38 - I just want everything to go smoothly. Really hoping I'll be able to keep it from people till 12-16 weeks, but that's going to be difficult if I don''t feel any better soon.

Laurab329 · 06/01/2020 14:11

@Vialarooski
Thank you so much for your reply! Congratulations on your pregnancy. I’m so sorry you had to go through the MMC 😢 it’s so heartbreaking and traumatic.

I was so worried about the cramps. It just feels like my period is coming and it messes with your head! I remember having them last time, but this time they seem much worse and more frequent! I was very anxious during the last pregnancy because it took us so long to conceive and it all went wrong anyway. You’re absolutely right, stressing won’t change the outcome and will only make us miserable for the next few weeks! I have been having acupuncture since my MC so I’m looking forward to having a session this week and hope it relaxes me a bit. A scan at 9/10 sounds like it might be a good idea too. Thank you for your support and advice, it has made me feel better xx

Laurab329 · 06/01/2020 14:25

@Mammasj @ButterflyRuns
Thank you ladies it’s such an anxious time for us all. I feel like I’m wishing my life away! I wouldn’t let my experience put you off an early scan MammasJ, in a way I was glad that we saw it and it was real ❤️ I only went for my early scan at the EPU as I had some light brown spotting. I think it was just the start of the MC though.

Good luck for your scan butterflyruns, fingers crossed for you! I’m almost 36 so I worry about being older too 😩 I know it’s daft as there are plenty of ladies having babies in their late 30’s these days xx

Vialarooski · 06/01/2020 14:49

@Laurab329 i read that cramps are totally normal because your uterus is stretching and can feel like period cramps. So I suppose it's reassuring to be feeling crampy, means thing s are progressing.
The only time to worry about cramps is if they follow on from any blood. And then backache would also be present. So basically, all the time there's no blood, there's no need to worry. However! I say all that and it doesn't stop me googling every single little thing lol.
I'm 5weeks and 5 days so not far behind you :) congratulations on your pregnancy, once the first trimester is over you can fully enjoy it x

ButterflyRuns · 06/01/2020 14:53

Thank you @Laurab329 Flowers Definitely lots of ladies having them later now, didn’t think I’d take so long but life goes by quick I suppose! My Mum had my sister at 37 so I probably am just overthinking it, definitely an anxious time for us all. It feels like such a lonely time because I’ve only told my 3 closest family including DH but it’s nice to be able to talk to you all as we’re in the same boat x

Sannya · 06/01/2020 14:53

Congratulations to all. 😊 And thanks to all for good wishes! We are hoping that everything is going to be ok this time. Can’t wait for my fist scan.

Mrs71 · 06/01/2020 16:02

Hi ladies! Went to see the gp about the brown spotting today he referred me to the epu and I have an early scan with them on Wednesday at 3! I'll be 6+5 then. Hoping everything will be ok and I'll see a heartbeat. Can't help but feel so worried though. I only have slight brown discharge today when I wipe so hoping it's all good. x

Vialarooski · 06/01/2020 19:09

@Mrs71 oh I hope your ok, I know how worried you must be but if they thought it was urgent they would surely get you in sooner so try not to panic. It is quite normal to get spotting apparently...and if it's brown spotting that suggests old blood so perhaps from implantation...?
I'm sure you've done your homework but try to keep calm and this group is here for you if you need to chat.

Mrs71 · 06/01/2020 21:13

@Vialarooski thank you. I'm trying not to worry my gp said spotting is very common in early pregnancy but I can't help but worry. Just want everything to be ok. x

xSLPx · 06/01/2020 21:30

For those of you missing tea have you tried Decaff tea? I couldn't live without tea so I've switched to decaff and after a few days I stopped noticing any difference in taste. Worth a try if like me you looove tea! Smile

Pralinehalo · 07/01/2020 08:08

Hi everyone, I'm 4 weeks 4 days, due 9th Sept based on my ovulation date. First pregnancy after around a year of trying with PCOS (just after we booked in all the NHS fertility tests too!)
Somewhat bricking it about getting through the next 8 weeks to the scan Shock. Took the second test this morning with a stronger line for it to feel at all real.
Has anyone else had problems sleeping? I fell asleep in the cinema on Sunday, just couldn't keep my eyes open, but last night fidgety as hell and super warm (normally I'm frozen).

2019Mama · 07/01/2020 09:08

@Pralinehalo I’m scared too... 8 weeks is so far away 😫
In regards to sleeping omd yes!! I find it so hard to fall asleep my legs really ache at night which makes it even harder to get some sleep and then I’m up at 7ish with my little one

Pralinehalo · 07/01/2020 09:15

So glad it's not just me, felt bad for the husband last night as I was tossing and turning

Ginblooded · 07/01/2020 10:16

@xSLPx yes, I cannot live without tea! I have switched to decaf, at first I was a bit 🤨 but I'm fine with it now 😊

Congrats @Pralinehalo! It is very daunting, I still have 5 weeks to wait for a scan and it seems like forever. I'm constantly checking symptoms.
Speaking of, boobs feel less sore today and haven't had nausea in 2 days now. No pains or bleeding though so I'm hoping it's just hormones settling briefly?

KittieKath · 07/01/2020 11:25

Hi everyone!

Would LOVE to join... I got my BFP yesterday after 14-months of TTC. So I think I am about 4weeks today. I tested about 8 times yesterday on numerous different brands. Weirdly the Amazon and Superdrug cheapies were really clear, stronger even that the First Response!

I got a stronger line this morning - so after being in disbelief yesterday I am now being hopefully optimistic.

I am quite old, nearly 36, so worried about MC. But just gonna eat well, go for some gentle swims and runs round the park, and try and relax.

@Lizalou88 @ButterflyRuns - I think I will do an early scan too. Plus I also understand there is a blood test you can do, as early as 8-weeks, when you can find out the sex as well as do a health check... but not sure what this is called. But I reckon I might do that too...

Happy and healthy pregnancies everyone! YAY!!!

KittieKath · 07/01/2020 11:47

@GinBlooded Loving the username!! We are big big boozers, but really cut down this month (aside from Xmas Day and NYE of course).. and a couple of weeks later, bob's your uncle!

I have no caffeine early grey - it's pretty yummy! been drinking it for ages as I heard caffeine can prevent implantation...

Also upgraded to the Pregnacare 'during pregnancy' vitamins, which felt like a very exciting progression... Grin

mamaskelz · 07/01/2020 12:05

@Beth804 congratulations!! How many weeks are you? I'm 5+3 and I haven't really had any symptoms yet so I'm a bit anxious. I'm going to book an early scan at about 8 weeks xx

Pralinehalo · 07/01/2020 12:12

@KittieKath thank you, I now have my midwifery appt booked but not till Feb 5th which feels like aaaaages away! I also ordered the pregnacare plus during pregnancy ones and some baby books :D
@Ginblooded I'm 34 so also have The Fear. Trying not to allow myself to test every day and wind myself up now I've had 2 positive tests with today's being way stronger than yesterday's
