Hi, just found out after a long time trying! Haven't really told anyone yet so thought some ladies in the same position might want somewhere to share symptoms/stories/worries. Doesn't feel real yet and that 12 week scan seems a loooooong way off!! 😂

Thank you :) luckily they've given me a 9am appt so not waiting about all day

IslayBrigid · 04/01/2020 18:21

Hi everyone who's feeling a bit down... remember, this time is like PMS on steroids. I've also felt quite emotionally up and down.
Progesterone is skyrocketing by 10times usual amount or even more! So so natural to feel a bit down / low / anxious. Just remember it's the hormones and things like exercise can help coz it increases endorphins... Whatever helped during pms, try that, as might help again! (Unless it's alcohol / heaps of coffee/ saunas/ some other forbidden thing haha) xx

Jessem29 · 05/01/2020 08:34

Hi everyone!

Congratauktions to everyone with three BFP! So exciting.

I think the anxiety is completely normal. Try not to be hard on yourself. Your body is doing alot, also if you have sadly had a mc in the past you are aware of what can happen. I'm trying to just relax and let it be. The outcome wont change either way.

I am 7 weeks tomorrow and have full sickness in the mornings, I get full so quick so am only managing to eat small and often. I am so bloated its unreal! I am usually a size 6-8 and my Jean's already feel tight. Ino this is just bloat but it's so uncomfy. Has anyone else experienced this?

Sending out postive thoughts to everyone x

Minniemee · 05/01/2020 09:18

@Jessem29 yes my bloating has been absolutely horrendous!! The other night I ended up sleeping downstairs just so I could semi-prop myself up on the sofa as my stomach was the size of a beach ball and oh the pain when I lay down! Tried to take the Renee anti bloat chewies but they made me gag - it's just awful isn't it! The top half of my stomach gets hungry and then brings on the morning sickness/nausea but the rest of my stomach feels so full I can't think of anything g worse than eating and adding to it!

I'm seeing the midwife on Wednesday for my first appointment so I'm going to ask if there's anything that'll help and I'll let you know!

Minniemee · 05/01/2020 09:19

@Happyhippie88 sending all the love and good thoughts to you for this morning x

Jessem29 · 05/01/2020 09:51

@Minniemee yes!! That's exactly what I am like. I feel so hungry when I wake up. If I dont eat quick enough I am so sick but I feel so full its horrible. I sleep on my front too but everytime I turn on to it it actually hurts. Plus waking for the bathroom every few hours is fun! I am hoping the bloating will settle down! I'm not due to see midwife until the 16th. Xx

Happyhippie88 · 05/01/2020 09:58

Got a strong little heartbeat. Measuring a day under 6 weeks

Minniemee · 05/01/2020 10:33

@Happyhippie88 what fabulous news!! So happy for you xx

Ginblooded · 05/01/2020 11:06

@Happyhippie88 that's amazing! So pleased for you 😁

Jessem29 · 05/01/2020 11:21

@Happyhippie88 lovely news!! Congratulations! X

Mrs71 · 05/01/2020 12:04

@Happyhippie88 congratulations that's lovely news!

I'm feeling so anxious today I had a little bit of brown spotting again yesterday it was a small amount. I have my 7 week scan on Friday and just can't help but feel so worried. I have hardly no symptoms either apart from being tired. I have my first gp appointment tomorrow I'll mention to him maybe he'll send me to the epu for scan earlier. X

Happyhippie88 · 05/01/2020 12:08

@Mrs71 our local epu allows self referral, perhaps call yours if you're really worried

Martina2311 · 05/01/2020 12:08

@Happyhippie88 amazing news lovely! I am planning to go to epu on Tuesday when I will be exactly 6 weeks and would be so so happy if I'd already be able to see the heartbeat. You must be feeling so relieved! X

Mrs71 · 05/01/2020 12:11

@Happyhippie88 oh do they. I don't want them to think I'm being silly? I'm also really scared 😟

Martina2311 · 05/01/2020 12:15

Hi @Jessem29 so happy to see you here lovely! I feel similar with my mornings and jeans 🙈 I like to wear waist fit jeans but those are so uncomfortable now, its putting pressure on my lower abdomen and is slightly painful. I dont get too nauseous but can definitely understand where you are coming from with your mornings. I also wake up with a bit of a funny stomach...and need to eat to feel better. I also get full on smaller portions. On a couple of occasions when I still tried to eat my usual portion, I felt quick sick after and way too bloated and uncomfortable. And I think that I am really more aware of smells. Everything smells much more noticeably than before. It is not making me exactly nauseous but definitely irritated...from the smell of my partners fried sausages for breakfast, his coffee, to bin smell and a drunk person on the public transport. I feel like everything smells more intense.

Maggie272 · 05/01/2020 16:13

Hi everyone! Sorry if I missed any messages that state otherwise bit I hope everyone is doing well! @WorriedButterfly so good to see you here!

All good with me, following some bad anxiety. Had my 6 week scan on Thurs and saw heartbeat. Amazing. Still being cautious. Will be 7 wks on Wednesday 💝 can't believe it xxx

Maggie272 · 05/01/2020 16:14

@IslayBrigid how are you? I miss tea and coffee but it's worth it! 😋.

Sannya · 05/01/2020 18:01

Such great news @Happyhippie88 congrats on seeing the heartbeat! Glad everything is good ❤️
Thanks for checking in @Maggie272😍 so pleased you also saw a little heartbeat and you are doing well. I can imagine how special that is to see the small bean. I'm going to wait till the 12 week scan but just got my booking appointment in the post yesterday so that was really nice. Booked for 19 Feb! I'm good, starting to have nausea now. Still mild but had my first rush to the loo thinking I was going to vom. Lovely! At least it reassures me something is happening 🙈😅 hopefully it isn't too bad tho.
I have also been having one caffienated tea or coffee a day but making sure the coffee is weak. Mostly I'm just sticking to green tea as that is relatively low in caffeine so I figure it's ok to have one, plus it has lots of antioxidants! But this weekend I had a friend staying and just really felt like a little coffee. Will go back to green tea and herbal from tomoz. I will see how I go, might fully cut it out if / when it feels right. But I've been so exhausted. Tea helps 😅

Btw this might be too early for people but I bought some birth books. If you're going to get one book on birth, I highly recommend the Positive Birth Book by Millie Hill!! It's an eye-opener! Really great book. Heaps of other good ones too like Ina May's Guide to Childbirth. Ella Mills of Deliciously Ella recommended them so thought I'd give them a go as she had a lovely birth experience and there is so much we don't get told unless we do our research. 🙌

Congrats @sannya my fingers are crossed for you! Looks like a nice strong bfp! X

Happyhippie88 · 05/01/2020 18:59

BooBean1 · 05/01/2020 19:16

Hello Septembers! I'm 5 weeks 1 day and found out a week ago witch feels soooo early.

It's my first time and I'm really trying to be calm and not scared of all the talk of MC and just enjoy- I've told a fair few friends and family as it was New Year and the antibiotics trick just don't fly with my lot! I've been getting tired and emotional pretty easily and have crampy period type feelings in my lower abdomen which is, frankly, scary as all get out but I'm told it's normal.

Thinking about getting an early scan next week or so as 12 weeks seems a loooong time away. Hope I havn't jumped the gun telling people but I'm excited and they're my friends so hopefully even if the worst happens it's my support group.

So glad to have found this place!!!

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 05/01/2020 19:58

Hello all I’m a bit late to the party but can I join? I got my bfp today! App saying 10 September eek!! Can anyone recommend a good pregnancy exercise app?

ButterflyRuns · 05/01/2020 23:00

Hi everyone! I'm new to the thread also, I'm 8 weeks and due in August with my first child. So excited to start my family with DH but also very nerve-wracking at the same time!

I have some concerns about my pregnancy seeing as I'm 38 and it's classed as 'geriatric', are any of you ladies in the same boat? I know plenty of people have pregnancies perfectly fine at this age, and my mum had my sister at 37 but I can't help having that inkling of 'what if' as it's still early days. So far I have only told DH, my sister and my mum. Definitely going to hold out until a bit past the three months mark.

Congratulations on your pregnancies and especially @Sannya!

Happythecrocodile · 06/01/2020 07:17

Just got a BFP for baby no. 2! Think I’m about 4 weeks 3 days going by LMP.

Still in shock as it was the first month since coming off contraception, took 6/7 months with my first so wasn’t expecting it so quickly! All being well, DS1 will be nearly 2.5 when this baby is born.

Congratulations everyone!

2019Mama · 06/01/2020 08:15
