Hi, just found out after a long time trying! Haven't really told anyone yet so thought some ladies in the same position might want somewhere to share symptoms/stories/worries. Doesn't feel real yet and that 12 week scan seems a loooooong way off!! 😂

@CharlotteCx oh yes and I meant that with the last pregnancy, I got the 3+ result late..at 4,5 weeks after conception. And I got a 2-3 result at about 3,5 weeks if I remember correctly. So still raising but slower than now.

CharlotteCx · 31/12/2019 16:28

@Martina2311 wow how heartbreaking to think everything is ok to fhen be told it's not at a scan 🙈 the stress really doesn't stop after your BFP. Ahhh okay! So yes 5 weeks 5 weeks + is when you should get a 3+ as you said that is not gospel but it deffo helps and shows that your HCG are rising as they should.

ezridelmastro · 31/12/2019 18:05

@behappy123456 That sounds like a big shock for you - I can imagine it is quite confusing. Mine is a much wanted and planned pregnancy but mixed in with the happiness I still have feelings of "oh god what have we done?!" A baby will mean some pretty significant changes and there is a lot to think about (for me mostly what will I do about work, can we really afford it etc.). There's a lot to take in. Have you anyone in real life you can talk to, other than your DP?

WorriedButterfly · 31/12/2019 20:48

@Grazangelique, I'm on the same drugs as you (I have 3 pessaries though) I am feeling the same symptoms, it really messes with my mind that the progesterone gives all the same symptoms as pregnancy. Have you got your scan booked yet? Mine is a week today. I hope it is good news and will chill me out a bit, altho I found out I'd had a MMC at 9 weeks on my first cycle, so not sure it will! X

Grazangelique · 01/01/2020 19:02

@WorriedButterfly, Happy New Year! May this year bring only happiness!
So sorry to hear that about your first cycle. Did they say why may have caused it? I keep my fingers crossed that all goes fine this time around!!🤞 My scan is unfortunately not until the w/c 20/1. They want me to have completed 7 weeks first..I was thinking I’d take a home pregnancy test every few days - I suppose if something happens hormones will start dropping no? My god, I never thought it will continue being so difficult after a BFP. x

Wondering whether anyone could offer any advice as I'm currently in Iceland for a few days and really worried,

I've started to have what feels like a bruise type of pain right in the centre of my pubic area (right level with where I envisage your uterus is) it hurts if I touch it like a bruise and if I bend over or walk, or put my pants on (it is right where your pant line comes to on your lower stomach) I'm just worried whether this could be something to do with baby? I don't remember bumping or falling over and there's nothing that looks like a bruise there. As we are away until tomorrow I can't go and see my GP so really panicking that I've hurt the baby somehow and that's why it's bruised!

Thanks ladies x

Aimee91 · 01/01/2020 19:36

Hi All.. I'm so excited to be joining this group!.. we're due 2nd August. Was anyone else obsessed with testing? I've done over 28 tests since we found out and for peace of mind my dr took my bloods which confirmed but that didn't stop me. I took a test yesterday at 9 weeks 4 days and it was negative. Does that mean I've lost our baby? Our 12 week scan isn't until 20th jan. Happy new and congrats to all x

IslayBrigid · 01/01/2020 22:05

@Minniemee how many weeks are you? It could be cramping as that often comes and goes in the early weeks. Have you done any activities that might have caused a bruise or the tissue to become tender? Most likely it is normal cramping and it will pass and be completely fine. I get random pains sometimes esp in vagina area and womb area. I am not getting much cramping anymore but I think it's normal for the area to feel weird because so much more blood and energy is going to that place now.
Try not to worry... Take it easy and don't do anything that hurts it and listen to your body. See you gp when back in uk maybe? X

Minniemee · 01/01/2020 23:09

@IslayBrigid thank you so much for your reply.. I'm a little over 8 weeks and have already had an early scan. Rather than the pain being there constantly like a sharp/period pain it feels like a bruise as in it's really tender to the touch and when I move, I'm not sure whether I can feel a slight lump there either, but it is near my scar from an operation I had from my endo so I could just be feeling the bumpiness of that.

Kona84 · 01/01/2020 23:12

Please can I jump on the thread.
I got my BFP yesterday, still surreal.
I want to tell everyone, I know that most people wait until 12 weeks but if something goes wrong I’d like the support rather than me and partner struggling through it.
Anyone else telling people straight away?
I’m already stressing about the birthing plan.
My partner doesn’t drive- how do I get to hospital? I have a dog to factor in too? Already stressing and I’ve only know for 36hrs.
Congrats everyone

mamaskelz · 01/01/2020 23:15

Hi everyone, hoping I can jump on the thread!

I'm expecting my second on 05/09/2020 and I'm dying to get to the 12 week mark so I can relax. Is anyone having an early scan and if so how early?

Congratulation to everyone 🖤🖤

Martina2311 · 01/01/2020 23:23

Hi @mamaskelz and congratulations on your bfp :) I should be due around Sep 1st and I am going for an early scan at 7 weeks exactly as somewhere between 6-8 weeks they should be able to detect the heartbeat. Are you considering an early scan yourself?

mamaskelz · 01/01/2020 23:30

Martina2311 congratulations, is it your first? Yes I definitely want an early scan but don't know how early to go. Maybe 8 weeks just to make sure we're able to make out the heart beat. So exciting 😍

Duffy23 · 01/01/2020 23:40

Hi all

I'm due on Aug 29. So excited & nervous. I still cant believe it. We had been trying for ages & I still cant believe it. I am so nervous so won't be telling anyone until the 12 week mark. It seems so surreal & amazing

Martina2311 · 01/01/2020 23:41

@Kona84 congratulations on your positive lovely! :)

I understand your excitement, I am also too happy to keep it just to myself. This is my third pregnancy..I have a 7 year old and went through a miscarriage last year. Last year we told much more people before our 12 week scan, only to find out bad news later. My partner wanted to keep it to ourselves this time, until we I get everything confirmed and we are certain that baby is healthy. We had chats about this and we ended up telling only a few people in the end - the ones that we would seek for a support in case something goes wrong. I am not embarrassed to talk about the topic of mc, as much as its painful...but to me, one of the reasons why it's such a tabu topic is, that nobody talks about it. With all respect thought, I understand everyone is different...it is a painful and sad experience if something goes wrong and everyone has the right to deal with it the way they feel is the best for them. But to me personally, I find it helpful talking about painful stuff with my closest, so I would include them either way. I dont like putting on a mask and pretending everything is ok just because nobody knows what's going on in my life. However, I wouldnt tell as many people as I told last time, as it was more difficult then.

So I'd say, if you feel like you want to share the news, share it with people that you dont mind including, in the case that this pregnancy will go well but also in case something goes wrong. I'm sure everything will be just fine! But this is just the practical thinking, if you know what I mean ❤ Hope I didnt sound too blunt! X

Martina2311 · 01/01/2020 23:46

@mamaskelz sounds like a good idea! I also didnt want to go too early, because I really want to see the heartbeat and get some reassurance. But I dont think I want to wait a week longer as I think they will invite me for my main scan at the very end of Jan or beginning of Feb anyway.
I have a 7 year old son already but this is our 3rd pregnancy. Is this your first? When exactly did you find out? :)

mamaskelz · 01/01/2020 23:53

@Martina2311 aww that's so lovely, he'll be so excited I'm sure! We've got a little boy who's 3 and he will not be impressed 😂, this is our second pregnancy. I think I'll go at 7 or 8 weeks just to make myself feel better, the first 12 weeks are the absolute worst I think xx

Martina2311 · 02/01/2020 09:36

Morning ladies. Is anyone starting to suffer from a bit of nausea? If so, when did your start?

I'm 5+2 today and I feel like I am starting to feel a bit nauseous these couple of days. Never to the point that I would get actually sick but it seams like, when I move too fast or when I maybe eat too much. That's something I noticed as well...I make myself the same portions, which I would eat without a problem before..now it seams like, I start feeling full after half of the portion and if I still finish it, I am so bloated that I need to unzip my trousers because it's really uncomfortable 🙈 also if eating too much, I feel a little nauseous. Anyone in the same boat? I also I am more sensitive to smells. Dont think it's a particular smell that I dont like, but just in general, I find them more intense and more irritating. I swear I felt uneasy about the smell of my partners coffee yesterday (I love coffee) and really irritated by a couple that came on the tram yesterday and they smelled of weed. I wouldn't say I feel nauseous from the smells but definitely more sensitive and a bit uneasy...
I know symptoms usually get more intense about the week 6 or so. I'm hoping it wont be too bad as that's when I'm going back to work 😶

Mammasj · 02/01/2020 10:59

Hi everyone, hope you don’t mind me joining. Got my bfp on Xmas eve and will be due 4th September according to my calculations. Congratulations to everyone!
I will also be getting an early reassurance scan at 9 weeks because I want to make sure that it’s a clear cut answer to whether baby is ok. I’m such a worrier.

This is my 3rd pregnancy and I’m actually worried about the lack of symptoms! I had sore boobs on my last two but not this one.
Did anyone have differences with symptoms on different pregnancies? X

Mammasj · 02/01/2020 11:58

Hi @Aimee91

I was a serial tester on my first baby and the same thing happened at 7 weeks. After lots of tears and panic, I found information that when you are so far along, there is so much hcg in your urine that a pregnancy test can no longer detect it correctly. I added lots of water to my urine (diluted it by at least half) and tested again and it came back positive!! I learned my lesson not to keep testing after the early weeks! Lol maybe try this and put your mind to rest then don’t test again! :) congratulations! Xx

Vialarooski · 02/01/2020 16:43

Hello everyone, please can I join?
I got my BFP the day before NYE, I think I'm about 5 weeks? I'm not sure when I conceived but I'm going from the first day of my last period.
This is my second, I'm very excited but also very scared as have suffered a miscarriage when trying with our first. We paid for a private early scan at 9 weeks last time and I would love to do that again but not sure we can afford it this time round! Got a few weeks to think about it though :)
Congrats everyone, so exciting! I think I'm even more excited second time round because I know what to expect. I'm going to enjoy every second ❤️

CharlotteCx · 02/01/2020 18:33

@Beth804 I saw my little blob on the screen today & it's heart flickering 😍😍 was the most magical thing ever. When's your scan?

MynameisRachael · 02/01/2020 19:22

Hello Everyone!

Im so excited to post. I found out i was pregnant on Christmas Eve, last period was 12th November, making conception date around 25th November which is my birthday!! Baby is due 18th August.

I've been for an early scan this afternoon due to some bleeding and and heavy cramping. Delighted to say i saw a lovely strong heartbeat. Very surreal but amazing all the same.

Im 34, first child, no longer with Dad, but we've decided to work at co-parenting. It all seems to be going well, although, I know that can change very suddenly though so not looking at it through rose tinted glasses.
But at the moment, I'm feeling extremely content and weirdly very calm.

Im not sure how to upload pics but I'd love to share baby's first picture

Jessem29 · 02/01/2020 19:55

Hi Ladies.

Wondering if I can join.

I am 6 weeks 4 days with my first baby. 3rd pregnancy. Had a mc in may at 6 weeks, then lost twins and 8 and 10 weeks in September. We had to have surgery to remove this as I did not bleed.

Trying to stay relaxed and calm but have days were I feel very nervous. I had a small bleed on Christmas eve. I was sent home and told to re test in a week. All postive and morning sickness is creeping in. Fingers crossed!

Hope everyone is feeling good! X

itssquidstella · 03/01/2020 09:37

@Martina2311 I've started to feel a bit nauseous too over the last few days - not enough to feel like I'm going to be sick but just a bit queasy. My normally huge appetite has reduced a bit too.

I've booked a scan for Jan 22nd when I'll be 8 weeks; I'm a worrier and don't think I can last till 12 weeks without reassurance (also if something has gone wrong then I hate the idea of carrying a dead embryo around, I'd rather know and deal with it quickly).
