New thread for our July gang 😊

Shall we do a little reminder of who we all are so we can see who is on here - Age, current EDD and if we know our 12 week scan date?

I'll start:

31 - EDD 08/07 - 12 week scan 24/12

@Bibinka could you afford to have an NIPT to confirm? Have you been offered an amniocentesis? Would the results change the outcome for you (no need to say on here)?x

Ethellsmum · 10/01/2020 17:20

Mine was 1 in 100 last pregnancy. That’s a 99% chance of everything being ok so you’ve even better odds. Was the NT measurement ok? Is it your bloods that have swayed the results?
I’ve just had my bloods done this week and I’m anxiously waiting for my results.

Bibinka · 10/01/2020 17:39

@Kiki275 As the findings are considered low risk, an amniocentesis or any further investigation has not been offered. We could afford an NIPT but having read more about NIPT tests, I don't think I would have one. For my DH and myself results could possibly change the outcome but haven't discussed the results with him yet.
@Ethellsmum That's sounding more positive. The sonographer said the nuchal measurements were not indicative of high risk and everything was healthy. Apart from my age, I wouldn't say I had any other factors that could put the numbers up so I am guessing it's something in my blood results.
I guess will have to ask midwife for more information on Monday and speak to hubby when he gets back. He's really good with stats, etc and may see this more positively than I am right now.

DripDrip · 10/01/2020 18:06

Hi all, I'm a bit late to the party so I hope it's not too late to join. I'm 34, pregnant for the first time with my first baby. EDD 7/7/20. 20 week scan booked for 21/2.

Ethellsmum · 10/01/2020 18:12

@Bibinka I was 30 and a normal NT so it was my bloods. This time I’m 38, normal NT again. If I’m high risk again the hospital should have my results by now so I should get a call early next week. This pregnancy is aging me 10 years at least. I can’t cope with the worry and anxiety 🤦‍♀️

Bibinka · 10/01/2020 19:02

@Ethellsmum My letter took less than a week to arrive after the screening so hoping you get some good news soon. Baby wasn't cooperating for the scan at 13w+6, so the measurements could be inaccurate but we did have a private scan two weeks before that and all looked well. I am a worrier in general so that doesn't help. Spoke to hubby who felt the same as me. I will just have to speak to the midwife and see what they say.

@DripDrip Congratulations and welcome to the thread! We share the same EDD!

DripDrip · 10/01/2020 19:33

@bibinka thank you for the welcome. I wouldn't worry about the screening results to be honest. Even if it's a much lower risk there's always that risk and I personally refuse to let anything worry me to distract me from this beautiful journey we're on.

Has anybody felt any quickening yet? I'm convinced I felt it today.

LisaxMarie · 10/01/2020 19:43

Yes! I mentioned this to my husband yesterday at 13+3 but wasn’t sure if I was imagining things! Definitely felt some little flutters and he felt it too!

DripDrip · 10/01/2020 19:54

Oh yaaay! I thought I was imagining things. It was so lovely.

LisaxMarie · 10/01/2020 19:57

I was the same until my husband confirmed! It’s a awesome feeling and I’m not surprised because our little bean didn’t stay still for one second when we had the scan 😂

lustforlife · 13/01/2020 18:26

How is everyone? I am seeing my midwife on Wednesday for my second appointment. I feel this is a bit early though, I'll only be 13 weeks! Hmm

LisaxMarie · 13/01/2020 20:11

All good here thanks and you? My 16 week appointment is booked for when I’m 16w1d x

Sprintfinish · 13/01/2020 20:24

I've to get my bloods redone this week as the ones from my booking appointment showed antibodies. Has anyone experienced this?

Ethellsmum · 13/01/2020 20:35

Combined screening results are back and as i expected, high risk at 1:50. That’s a 2% chance so I’m not getting too worked up.
Last pregnancy I had a 1% chance at 1:100. The midwife checked back and my blood results were very similar so part of me is wondering if that’s just my “normal”.
We can’t afford the NIPT so I am
Considering having an amino but maybe not until much further in to my pregnancy. I will see if the anomaly scan at 20 weeks picks anything up.

Bibinka · 13/01/2020 20:55

@Sprintfinish Do you mean in regards to Rhesus? Sorry, I have no experience but there is some stuff regarding the topic on NHS website.
@Ethellsmum It's good that your midwife was able to check back on your bloods. Mine wouldn't or didn't know anything about it. We have decided to also see what anomaly scan says and hope for the best and just be more positive.

Kiki275 · 13/01/2020 22:06

@@Sprintfinish mine were sent off and came back as having Anti-E present. The levels were so low though it isn't an issue. x

Sprintfinish · 13/01/2020 22:14

Midwife didn't go into any detail when she phoned, just that they needed to retest to find out what type 🤔 first thing I did was go on NHS site. I've had a blood transfusion so do wonder if somehow related.

Kiki275 · 14/01/2020 11:33

@Sprintfinish the antibodies can occur because of pregnancy, transfusions or just randomly. They're only a concern if in high quantities but they'll monitor regardless. If it's Anti-D you might get a couple of injections x

DripDrip · 14/01/2020 12:34

All good here too. My second midwife appointment is at 16 +4.

Esztikki · 15/01/2020 12:59

Hi everyone, I’ve been holding off joining the thread as I was hoping to reach 12 weeks and be able to breathe a little lighter :) While our scan went well, our blood results aren’t great so I’ve come to realise that day of lightness may never come, so I may as well join, and be happy that I can be here while I can!

Essential info - first child, MMC this time last year, currently due 20 July 2020, currently 13+2.

My 12-week bloods came back to show that my PAPP-A protein was at 0.33, which is sig below the desired 0.5 - and so I am undergoing further tests for Downs, which if they eliminate, the low protein may be an indication of pre-eclampsia and/or small baby due to problems with the placenta. Have any of you ever encountered these? Specifically, if you’re still having headaches, how frequently and with what intensity? I’m worried that mine are too frequent to be hormonal, but rather a sign that there is something a bit more wrong... but it’s obviously still too early to really know.

Thanks for reading this far, and looking forward to hearing about you all more.
E

Nelly325 · 15/01/2020 14:48

Hi!! 29, EDD 20.7. 20, second child, my first will be 17 months when the second arrives:)

RedRobin7 · 16/01/2020 11:44

@Esztikki I've also got low PAPP-A and I'm really annoyed because they told me in a letter which ends with... we understand this might cause anxiety but don't be anxious. I've had a MMC and a MC so my natural reaction is to be very bloody anxious!!! Got an appointment through for a 31 week growth scan in May but I'm annoyed about that too as I've read in most areas they start them at 28 weeks.

I'm off sick today - temperature, headache, earache and cough. Worried about the temperature so seeing a dr this afternoon and will see if they know about low PAPP-A. Have you started talking aspirin for it?

In terms of headaches - I've always suffered with horrendous migraines and they've become more frequent in pregnancy. I also find I have a headache most days but they're either caused by work (lighting, office too hot, stress) or I've had a bad sleep. Tend to only get rid of them by sleeping. I didn't think headaches at this stage is a sign of anything being wrong. What makes you concerned about headaches? Pre-eclampsia is a risk for us but usually not until after 20 weeks.

I'm 16 weeks today and can't wait for my 20 week scan in 4 weeks time to check baby is still growing.

Anyone experiencing any pains? I've been feeling bad period like pains and sometimes cramps / stitches in the pelvic region as well as the upper abdomen. As this is my first pregnancy I don't know if this is normal or not. Also nausea is getting slightly worse when I thought it should be easing now. I'm 15.5 weeks now and seeing midwife on Monday.

showmewhatyougot · 17/01/2020 15:34

I get period style cramping still, I was told it's normal, the stitches could just be round ligament pain, my midwife said it can affect that area too x
