New thread for our July gang 😊

Shall we do a little reminder of who we all are so we can see who is on here - Age, current EDD and if we know our 12 week scan date?

I'll start:

31 - EDD 08/07 - 12 week scan 24/12

Amazing scan pictures, congratulations to everyone who has had scans the past few days!

F1uff my 12 week scan is 20th jan feels forever away!

misselphaba · 24/12/2019 13:56

Brilliant scan photos everyone. So clear.

Secondsop · 24/12/2019 19:43

Today I have had a couple of tiny bits of pink when I wipe, and a couple of episodes of some stringy brown stuff. I’m still early - just passed 7 weeks. Am panicking - I am very much taking this pregnancy one day at a time as I know the risk is high at my age, but THIS day of all days?? And when I’m in a hotel thousands of miles from home, here for another 10 days so not as if I can readily pop for an early scan. Sorry for the non-cheery post so close to Christmas.

F1uff · 24/12/2019 20:25

@Secondsop oh my goodness, that must be so awful and nerve wracking :( :( do you have any pain? I’m sure you’ve googled - a bit of spotting doesn’t necessarily mean anything without pain, but that doesn’t help when you can’t speak to a professional or go for a scan to put your mind at rest. Poor you! :(

susie12345 · 24/12/2019 20:31

@Secondsop oh no! Any chance you could get to a&e if you are worried? It might not be anything serious but i can imagine how worried you are as i would feel the same way.

Secondsop · 24/12/2019 20:39

Thanks for responding - no pain, just the usual slight stretchiness / dull faint throb now and again. Just went to the loo and checked again and there was nothing on wiping at all, but then a second paranoid wipe revealed a bit of something dark brown but it seemed kind of ... dry? Like a bit of old flaky blood rather than something intermingled with any discharge? (Sorry for the detail). I guess I just have to ride it out and see how I go. I have had a miscarriage that started with pinky discharge before and it escalated quite quickly so if it’s going the same way I will know where I am by the end of tomorrow. But I’ve also had a successful pregnancy with brown spotting through the first trimester so it’s really anybody’s guess. Will do the stockings now and try to sleep - hope you all have a restful night x

susie12345 · 24/12/2019 21:00

@Secondsop lets hope it is nothing and all will be ok tomorrow.

Merry christmas everyone!!!

Doingitagain37 · 24/12/2019 21:21

@F1uff thanks, you're right, maybe not so bad

@secondsop I've had a bit of spotting on wiping all the way through, but it was much more noticeable around 7/8 weeks, all good this end, its definitely worth asking the midwife though. I'm 38 so worries about age etc, I didnt catch how old you are? Seems worse after sex so I think my cervix is just sensitive ?

dragonmummy17 · 24/12/2019 21:50

@secondsop sorry you are going through this so far from home. Hope it settles down for you

Southy84 · 24/12/2019 22:02

It’s such a worry secondsop I hope everything is ok. I had the same at 7 weeks for just over a week, I also had spotting with my DD (doesn’t stop the worrying though I know). Hope you’re able to take it easy tomorrow

Dafs123 · 25/12/2019 05:23

@Secondsop just try to think of how many people On this thread have had exactly what you've had or more and everything's been fine. Hope it settles so you can enjoy your Christmas Day.

Merry Christmas everyone 🤰🏻

RedRobin7 · 25/12/2019 06:46

@Secondsop How are you doing this morning? I had dark brown for a few days around 9 weeks. I had a private scan and everything was fine, looked like the blood was coming from the placenta and it sorted itself out. I also had some cramping with it. Hope you manage to enjoy your Christmas xx

Merry Christmas ladies! Have a lovely day! 🎄🎅🏻👶🏻

Secondsop · 25/12/2019 16:25

Thank you everyone for your reassuring words. There were a couple of dark bits this morning - again, almost like flaky/dried bits on their own as they weren’t mixed with any liquid (again, apologies) but that’s been it so far... hopefully it’s all just part of the process. Hope you’re all having a lovely Christmas.

OlivejuiceU2 · 25/12/2019 17:03

Hi secondsop, I was exactly the same at 7 weeks, last 3 or 4 days. Try not to worry. I had a private scan Monday and all is good with baby.

rosamundos · 26/12/2019 21:41

@Secondsop I had similar with my first (successful) pregnancy. Try not to worry. I freaked out at bad cramping at 7 weeks this time round, but I think it was my uterus literally growing.

Congratulations everyone on their 12 weeks, love the hat @RedRobin7 !

Dating scan (11+2) on Monday for me.. very apprehensive. I feel so pregnant and bloated though, barely made it through Christmas feeling sick and trying to sip (not too much) wine. Pretending to drink whilst not drinking is such a nightmare. Hoping my sickness and fatigue is a good sign though

Kiki275 · 27/12/2019 08:35

Have any previous mums started lactating yet? I stopped BF DS in October but just managed to hand express a small amount when inspecting some odd crusty bits (TMI!) x

RedRobin7 · 27/12/2019 11:40

Morning ladies, how are you all doing? I feel so tired after the Christmas shenanigans and woke up with a headache. Regretting not booking today off work but thankfully working from home. So glad I can have a lie in tomorrow.

Think I'm getting a slight bump now, no longer just bloat 😊 Only really visible naked though lol!

susie12345 · 27/12/2019 12:09

Hi everyone, hope you all had a nice Christmas :) im so tired as well, it has been pretty full on so i am having a chilled out day today, luckily not working until second of january.

@RedRobin7 aww thats so cute that you are starting to show :) i cant wait to start showing a bit too. Hopefully not too long to wait.

Has anyone shared their news with families? How did it go?

F1uff · 27/12/2019 12:33

I am continuing to sleep for Britain (15 hours yesterday...). Have my booking in appointment today, I never got this far with the previous pregnancy so I’m a little apprehensive... keep going through the stats on miscarriage after seeing a heartbeat at 9 weeks.

I’ve told them all already so at least I had an excuse to be a grumpy bugger all day and stay at home! The thought of quality-street-fuelled monopoly marathons makes me want to cry. Kudos to anyone making it through that while feeling like this is all I can say!

PixieN · 27/12/2019 13:35

We told my mum on Xmas day and she was thrilled to bits - kept wandering around alternating between telling me she felt sick, needed to sort the dinner out and was so happy lol.

We told DHs family yesterday. We put the scan pic in a card (like we did with my mum) addressed to grandma which said ‘Hope to see you in July 2020’. She was very confused for ages as she doesn’t have the best eyesight, missed the scan pic at first and said kept saying, who is hoping to see me in July??? She had to pass the card to DH’s sister who also took a while to work it out. We had some lovely reactions when they all realised though Grin

rosamundos · 27/12/2019 16:21

@Kiki275 oh yeah I stopped bf with my first in August 2017 and have some drops coming through! It started literally the week I conceived!! I was a bit of a fountain though so not surprised...

dragonmummy17 · 27/12/2019 16:25

@Kiki275 I stopped bf in Feb 2018 but my milk never actually dried up completely. I haven't tried recently but guessing I could get some milk out if I tried
I had my scan today. EDD moved one day to 5th July. Baby was so wriggly and flipped right over halfway through. I cried... so different from last year and so lovely to see a good strong heartbeat

Westiemummy81 · 27/12/2019 20:39

So this happened today ❤️ EDD 11/7/20 nhs Scan she didn’t advise in heartbeat rate and we didn’t hear it and the pictures were a bit grainy and she didn’t exactly explain much however I did get the nt screen was 1.4-1.5mm and the crl was 54mm hope everything looks ok

Any thoughts ?

New symptom - heartburn. It is so bad it wakes me up. Anyone got any tips for that?

@Westiemummy81 congrats on your scan!

@F1uff wish i could sleep like that, im up every two hours for a wee and now with heartburn as well :(

@PixieN thats nice the way you announced it :) great story with the scan picture :D

showmewhatyougot · 28/12/2019 07:31

Congrats @Westiemummy81 if anything was not right the sonographer would have said Smile

Re heartburn, I can't eat anything with tomatoes or onions, or anything remotely spicy (even korma set me off!)

I keep mints and water by my bed for the exact same reason! It sucks but helps, hope you manage to find a way to make it better x
