A nice new little thread for Skidoodle and anyone else who needs it.....

Oh goodness me, now I want crumpets too! With melted butter dripping out of the holes. Mmmmmmmmm!!

Gingercat - not surprised you're missing your mum's cooking, it sounds amazing! Fresh healthy stuff like that is what we should be eating instead of crumpets and Cheesy Wotsits!

Hmmmm, DH is out late tonight at a farewell do at work. What yummy thing that he doesn't like should I have for supper? (ponders....)

checking in on way back from umpteenth upchuck of last 2 days/ sorry not read thread. have to drink a small glass water every two hours to avoid doc visit. not going too badly on the whole, just getting bedsores and bored. probably ds's tummy bug from w/e, not MS i reckon. hope it passes quick, i've starved it for long enough now...

preggersagain · 13/09/2007 15:41

mb- take it easy!

3madboys · 13/09/2007 17:08

(((cricri))) so sorry for your loss

congrats to preggars again, a second set of twins how old are your other twins? you will need a fab bugggy for your toddler and the twins

i am feeling ok, now 16wks and feeling less sick, still no bump. a bit annoyed that i am supposed to have an app with my midwife at around 16wks but they are too busy so i wont be seen until i am 20 wks, i got booked in at ten weeks and now wont see a midwife again until 20wks, i am not imressed tbh i just want to go and hear the heartbeat etc, am debating moving my care to a birthing centre, it is a 40mins drive away tho, but i know that they are not busy and you get one on one care etc, its a small team of midwives and one of them WILL be present for the birth, you can have the baby at home or at the birthing centre i have visited it and it looks lovely, dp thinks i should change? but i am worried about getting there for appointments etc with the three boys in tow, decisions...

imjin100 · 13/09/2007 17:48

I have yet to be checked in at all, nor have I seen a midwife. I will apparently see one next week when I will be 16 weeks and then no scan until 23 weeks so I guess that's not very impressive but I'm trying not to think about it....Can only assume all is well even if reading stuff on mn does make me very nervous!
have a nice evening all.

glammama · 13/09/2007 18:01

Evening all, I have abandoned you all recently due to my infatuation with facebook. I'm sorry to hear of poorliness. Get well somm MB and Turtle.
Now, I must be mad, I've gone and bought a green knitted baby cardigan with satin ribbons off ebay for a couple of quid. DP will think I'm bonkers but I couldn't help it. I'll stop now, I promise.

glammama · 13/09/2007 18:02

somm should obviously read soon!

HolidaysQueen · 13/09/2007 19:21

I am very proud of myself as I finally did some exercise having not felt up to anything for ages! I just did the Davina prenatal DVD which DH got me for my birthday - it was really good (think it will be particularly great when I get really massive) and I'm v. pleased as it now means I can have a large guilt-free portion of chocolate icecream after my dinner

3madboys · 13/09/2007 19:24

imjim according to the AIMS guidlines etc you are supposed to be booked in between weeks 8-10 and should get a dating scan by about wk 12, not all health authorities are up to scratch unfortunatlely there is a webiste you can look at i will see if i can find a link, i had it a few weeks ago

Paranoid1stTimer · 13/09/2007 20:45

It's with a tinge of guilt and much sadness I post as I feel so bad for those who have had such devastating news... My thoughts are really with you all...

Well, I had my scan today and I was so nervous before that I got myself hyperventilating.... Ah anxiety - what fun. Anyway, DP came along with me and was extremely quiet - unlike him - saying he wouldn't be ok until we heard the heartbeat. We were taken as soon as we went in and they don't let you hear the heartbeat so it was a long long few seconds before the wee baby shape appeared on the screen and they located its beating heart. It waved a wee hand and we got some pretty clear pics. Total relief. Due date 16th March so pretty much what the dates said originally.

Hope everyone is getting on ok and mmmmmmmmmm crumpets n butter!!!!!!!!! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

monthlymayhem · 13/09/2007 21:34

Hello

Congrats Papaya, spugs, Paranoid1st and Preggersagain on your scans - another set of twins for the March thread, fantastic!! Sorry if I missed anyone!

Hello Pinkmartini - don't be shy, we are all very friendly

turtle, how horrible for you, hope you're starting to feel a bit better.

I can't remember who was asking about size, but LO was measured at 53mm at 12 weeks if that helps.

On the exercise front I've been pretty good so far about keeping up going to the gym and my running club (have drastically reduced my distance and speed etc so safe), but on the down side I've been eating like a horse and really craving stodgy, unhealthy things so undoing all my good work ...

I'm now 13+2 and over the last few days have definitely noticed my tummy has been more swollen. I always thought it would feel hard though, and it's still just 'squashy' so might just be the extra cakes, pretzels, biscuits etc, etc

Had a meeting today which I've been dreading for ages (to the point of feeling really quite sick over the last couple of days) and it wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be so a big weight off my shoulders! Would normally celebrate with a glass of wine, but apple juice will have to do

tori32 · 13/09/2007 22:28

Hi and good evening ladies.

Welcome pinkmartini and picklewood we are all nice and don't bite so please stay!
Congratulations to you all who have had good news

Cricri so sorry to hear your sad news, haven't been on for a while so only just got it. Big hugs Take care xx

Well everythings just ticking alone here. I know I am preggers but don't feel it. Must be the luckiest b**r alive, no sickness, not too tired and only get heartburn with onions and peppers! Craving bacon sandwiches +++++++++ every day. Oh and a healthy one of tangerines! Good breakfast combo.

Should get more peace next week as dd starting creche so only 2 toddlers instead of 3! Will keep popping in but need sleep!

merryberry · 14/09/2007 08:34

better a fair bit at last. thank gawd. actuaLLY pretty sure it was a progesterone surge rather than tummy bug in hindsight: other hormone symptoms are boobs have changed, and had an hilariously fruity dream last night involving a fat, old Keanu Reeves (think marlon brando in apocolypse now). i pretty much woke up laughing at 2am. bless him. i've always thought him in little buddha in my top 5 worst films ever and have NEVER fancied him as a result. pregnancy - weird.

anyway, can drink fluids at will and eat sparingly. am just off out to toddler singing group to make the time past faster. ttfn, looking forward to catching up properly later.

imjin100 · 14/09/2007 10:26

merryberry, glad you're feeling a bit better - keep taking it easy if you can.

Just thinking, how many people still have to have their scans, we must nearly all be through - that's exciting.

Perhaps we should start putting on dates for the next scan on the list of dates...for those who know them.

3madboys, thanks for the info, i@ve had my scan so i'm quite relaxed about the rest. I see the midwife next week so not long now - and hopefully a heart beat to be heard...I shall insist.

HolidaysQueen · 14/09/2007 11:15

merryberry - glad you are starting to feel better! turtle - hope your big breakfast yesterday didn't lead to a relapse and that you are on the mend too!

i just wanted to check how sad/geeky i am. i've just created a spreadsheet to work out the whole holidays/maternity leave thing for next year, and i've worked out that I only have 92 working days left before i can finish work for a year. that makes me happy anyone else running their pregnancy through Excel spreadsheets, or is it really just me that is that sad?

Brazilianmum · 14/09/2007 12:49

HQ I've created a whole calendar on excel with a week count of the preg and edd also a post birth count of maternity leave weeks, how much I'm going to get paid and when my holidays will kick in etc. So you are not alone. I'm a saddo who loves Excel.

HolidaysQueen · 14/09/2007 14:16

Hurrah brazilianmum - Excelaholics unite! I too have a spreadsheet calculating all our finances for maternity leave

glammama · 14/09/2007 18:01

I'd love an excel spreadsheet but don't know how to do it Have you all decided when you're going to finish work then? I'm lucky at the moment if I can remember to keep us stocked up on toilet roll, never mind what I'll be doing in 5 months time. I do have the end of Jan going round my head and I know I'm very happy by the thought of no work for a while but I'm not happy about the rubbish pay awards we get for bringing a new member of the future workforce into the country. I'm just not going to think about it right now.

onemore · 14/09/2007 18:21

Hi everyone, I'm new! but I have been reading both March & April threads regularly as i wasn't sure which one I was going to be on!
Had a scan today that put me at 11+5 and edd 29th march.

Hope everyone's ok I'm off out in an hour or so for my friends birthday, am finally going to tell my close RL friends, exited but nervous too!

turtle23 · 14/09/2007 18:22

My husband has had an excel spreadsheet with all of the "for the next year" dates and figures for the past 18 months assuming we got pregnant that next month...we now seem to have some kind of book with extended forecasts including when we get pregnant with the next one...I'm worried! I did indeed have a relapse after eating so starved myself for the afternoon...ended up with morning sickness...ate more food to get rid of sick feeling...had a relapse..you get the picture. Chicken soup and toast now. POUT.
Hope everybody has a fantastic weekend!

tori32 · 14/09/2007 18:29

onemore welcome!

turtle sorry you still feel sick, hope it will pass for you soon.

I feel guilty when I hear how bad some people have felt, not having it.

Has the meet up in London been decided yet? Lost the thread for a while.

glammama · 14/09/2007 18:37

Mustn't be too long, supposed to be cooking tea
hello and welcome onemore,

tori, this is the post for the meet up. Ironically the last thing I wrote was about an excel spreadsheet, synchronicity! meet up

turtle stay away from the food! Sorry to hear you're still not better.

gingercat12 · 15/09/2007 08:26

Onemore welcome. How are you feeling?

Turtle hope you'll feel better soon. Must admit I had morning sickness last night, and just hoped our guests could not hear it.

Glammama No idea when to go on maternity leave. Early February? Although I have such a knee pain at the mo that it might be wishful thinking.

Brazilianmum and HolidaysQueen I love excel spreadsheets, too. You gave me a wonderful idea. Thanks.

Jaysthird · 15/09/2007 09:43

Hi all, finaly found a bit of spare time to post on this thread. I am 16 weeks preg with DC3, have a DD 20 months and a DS 6 months. DC3 is due 29th Feb but with both DC i have gone at least a week over so i have poked my nose in here aswell as Feb thread. I found out the sexes of both prior kids and am thinking i might want a suprise although things tend to change when you are looking at that monitor!!

I am currently posting on the Postnatel thread for babies born last March so will be flitting in and out!
Hope to keep up with you all and will try and post when i can.

Anyone in Notts or surrounding area?

Oh and i read some of you are on Facebook, me also, its a bit of an addiction!

HolidaysQueen · 15/09/2007 10:05

Morning everyone!
glammama, gingercat - I've been wondering about when to start maternity leave cos it's my first baby so I have no idea how tired I will feel, plus I'm a control freak so feel like it is really important that I get this sorted out now - how daft am I?
Because the weather will probably be miserable I'd rather not be stuck at home for too long but equally don't want to have to commute when I'm really big. So I'm thinking I'll finish 5 weeks before.
How does everyone's maternity leave work? I'm incredibly lucky because my company gives me full salary for the first 6 months, which means we can afford for me to be off for the full 12 months if I want to. The downside is that I have to go back for 6 months, or pay back the money, so it could be a problem if I decide I want to be a SAHM.
