Hiya all

Know exactly what you mean about fitting into clothes, I lost half a stone from the sickness at the start, I think I?ve put it back on now though as my trousers are starting to feel a bit tight, might be the LO, although it could be the midnight snacks ? is it just me or does anyone else wake up starving in the middle of the night?

I?m still plucking up the courage to tell work. I?m on a contract until the end of January and they have said they?re planning on renewing it, but I think they may change their minds when they hear the news,

Good luck with the scans?
x

sweetbean · 24/10/2007 12:18

HI ladies

IndigoBlue me to ive lost 10lbs

I hope everyone else is ok and good luck to everyone having scans to day xx

Mitchell81 · 24/10/2007 14:06

Just got back from my scan, lo was moving around, but they couldn't get the correct measurements as baby was in the wrong position, so will get my dating scan on tuesday at consultant appointment. Hope everyone else who is getting scans today are ok!

Chuffed - try not to give yourself a hard time, it's difficult to stay excited and upbeat after weeks of feeling awful and with the added stress of you being told about potential complications it's no wonder you're feeling stressed out.

Mrsstresshead - I was told by the community midwife that they don't normally try to listen to the heartbeat until 25 week appt (if you are just seeing the midwife at the doctors surgery) as until then it can be difficult to pick up the heartbeat even when it's there and it causes the mums unnecessary distress when that happens.

torres · 24/10/2007 17:47

Good news here too, everything was fine! Despite all my adrenaline the baby was fast asleep and not moving which was a bit disappointing but just as the woman was finishing the scan the baby obliged by rolling over and having a good stretch.

Thank you all for keeping me going. Now only 10 days til the nuchal scan...
Beginning to feel brighter and more positive that I will have a baby at the end of this!

Mossy · 24/10/2007 18:29

Ladies, sorry to interrupt... if any of you are in Merseyside and thinking about breastfeeding, please click here

coby · 24/10/2007 20:26

torres - really glad the scan went well. Hope your little one is more wriggly for the next one (I've heard drinking coke makes them more wriggly - something I am going to try for my 20 week when I want a good view of those bits that tell you what colour baby gro to stock up on )

teeheelaydee · 24/10/2007 20:41

Time to say goodbye

Had scan today and our worst fears were confirmed. LO still there but no heartbeat.

Have to go back on Friday for an 'extraction' (such a lovely term)

All over very quickly today and didn't get self together to ask about any problems in future or when to start trying again but I guess there is time for all that on Friday.

Good Luck to you all - may pop in to see how you are all doing but will have to see. Found a thread with some others that have left May 2008 group and seems really uplifting. Thanks for all your good thoughts & wishes. xx
teeheelaydee (although not teeheeing much today)

toffeecrisp · 24/10/2007 21:39

toffeecrisp · 24/10/2007 21:39

cryptletsandtwins · 25/10/2007 01:19

Teeheelaydee

I'm so sorry !! sending you loads of love and strength for tommorow ! xxxx

podglet · 25/10/2007 11:20

Teeheelaydee - so sorry to hear the news. Best wishes and thoughts for tomorrow. If you want to ask questions, it may be an idea to write them down today. That way you will have them ready for tomorrow.

Chuffed - how very positive of the consultant to go through all that with you no wonder you are a bit stressed Am sure your lo's are fine, is there anyone who could have them for you for a few hours a couple of times a week to let you rest?

Scan today at 2.30 - fingers crossed

Think I had better apologise for getting you all excited about hearing the heartbeat. Apparently I was very lucky to get it at this stage and they won't usually check it until much later - 25 / 28 weeks. Sorrreee!

IndigoBlue · 25/10/2007 11:25

Teeheelaydee - so sorry

Torres - glad everything went well with the scan and you are feeling more positive.

Podglet - good luck for your scan today

Well, we saw my little piglet today and gosh it was a wriggly one... upside down and kicking and waving its arms in the air... such a nice feeling to see everything throbbing and moving :O)

and I know we can't expect to feel them moving yet but if it's wriggling that much maybe that explains all the weird tummy aches and strange sensations...

although that last one might have been the result of two crumpets and marmite eaten hurriedly :O)

hotpotmama · 25/10/2007 20:26

Had a scan yesterday and my due date has changed to the 7th so have updated the list below.

jacobandTheMummylysette · 26/10/2007 09:16

teehee, thinking of you for today. xxxxx

glad everyone is getting their scans and seeing the lo's!

saw the consultant on wednesday and my bp is not being controlled properly. doubled my meds so hopefully that will help, otherwise i'm booked in for steroid injections for baby's lungs at 24 weeks in case they have to deliver at 28 weeks. they ahve said we should prepare for 30 weeks and have a 60% chance of getting to 32 weeks which is when ds was born. It's all a bit of a shock as i've felt so much better in this pregnancy than the last, and i was really hoping it might be a little more "normal" iykwim, but not to be. chuffed the thing about delivering early is that scbu's are all so very well equipped to deal with very small, early babies. it's not like it was maybe 20 years ago when there weren't so many facilities or advances. and consultants can be so unthinking .

anyway, must go as have a mountain of errands to run today even though i'm shattered from the bp meds.

xxx

JackBlackRoady · 26/10/2007 11:02

so sorry to hear about your loss teeheelaydee ((((hugs))))
Still fighting the sickness, should be at work Monday morning but have my scan at 12:20 at the hospital which is 30 mins from work... tempted to not go in - I really really don't want to be sick in front of year 10! Urrgghh. I am so jealous of you who have got over the sickness - I am 12+2 today so surely it has to ease off soon???

ColumbosWife · 26/10/2007 12:01

Hi so relieved and pleased for you about the scan, Torres.

And so sad about yours, Teehee.

Can anyone advise me whether it is worth having a nuchal scan? I didn't with either of my other two, but this time the GP said she thought it was a good idea. Not sure if this is because I had the other two in my twenties and am now 33.

DH is - mildly - against it, saying that all we need is a heartbeat.

I just can't decide. I'd need to ring up this evening to try to get the appointment.

Any thoughts from people who have had them?
