Kinki - welcome back!! Glad you and little Liam are home and doing so well!! Yay!!

Well I was in the worst mood ever yesterday (cant remember ever feeling so unsettled the whole pregnancy), got a really good nights sleep - how did that happen, but have woken up in an 'off' mood still.
Off to meet MW this morning and do birthing plan scenarios - she is lovely, so am hoping talking to her will make me feel a lot happier! Heres hoping!

Hope everyone slept well, anymore for anymore popping??? Have great days.

Hopeitwontbebig · 04/09/2007 08:23

Kinki, yay you're back. SO glad Liam is no longer jaundiced! I bet it felt like you were never going to get out! It must be so nice to be home. How are you recovering from your ceasarean? You are very welcome, it was my pleasure. You can return the favour for me soon. Can't wait to see your pics.

Dal, there must be something in the air because I was in a godawful mood yesterday, worst one I've had in a long time. Poor DC, they knew to stay away from mum yesterday! I had a better night's sleep last night and feel somewhat more human today. The upcoming ceasarean is definitely to blame I think for current stresses. I think I'm going to have mine done privately now, so looks like my date might be the 17th instead of the 19th, will update later when I know for definite. The thread I started here explains my reasons for going private.

Welcome on board yetihed, I think you have the same due date as me! I'll add you onto our stats page. The next time you post, add in your details, ie age, where you live, if it's your first etc.

kyala, glad you're managing to get some sleep

Edie, ooh do I have some competition re birth weight!!! Maybe we should start some predictions!! I think I might have a 'tiddler' this time, and she'll be about 9lbs. What's yours?

Jemima, you're dead right about if it was men. No hang on, if men had to go through it the human race would come to abrupt end! We're bloody marvellous us women!!

EmLouT, sorry to hear your kitchen still isn't up and running, I feel for you! When do you think it'll be finished? I bet you're sick of pre-prepared food aren't you?

Canadianmum, have your twins started school yet??

I hope everyone else had a decent night last night.

I can't believe the kids are back at school tomorrow. The hols have gone SO quickly, it's going to seem so strange tomorrow morning. Having said that, I'm booked in for a hair cut and brunch with a lovely friend in the morning, that'll take my mind off missing the kids If I'm still feeling energetic later on today, think I might bake a cake with the boys, I feel like I've really neglected them these past weeks, what with the work that has been going on in the house and me being completely knackered! Don't think they've minded TBH, they've had an Xbox filled holiday

Kinki - nice to hear you and Liam are doing well, i'm sure it's a relief to be home!

HIWBB - read the thread and i think private is the right option for you. I disagreed with your consultant from beginning and as you've got the private option i'd go for it! Wish i could be there to see your consultants face when he finds out I'm also with you on the comm midwife fiasco. Because i've been having regular hospital check ups my midwife hasn't been seeing me. I hate the hosp midwife app as they seem in such a rush! I miss actually having a chat about things at the hospital it's urine, BP and then the midwife runs from the room saying i'll find the consultant!

Right i'm off to the hospital for appointment with consultant. Just me and DS so lots of DS be good vibes please!

Will report back later!

Would any of you 1st time mum's like the opportunity to borrow DS for a couple of days to see what live will be like in 2.9 yrs time? Everyone welcome! I'm sure you will all relish the challenge, I mean hell, err I mean opportunity!!!!!!!

MrsFish · 04/09/2007 09:37

Good morning all.

Well I have only just got up and ds is still asleep... blimey... mind you I was up with him from 1am -2.30am, I think he must have had a bad dream, because he wouldn't go back to sleep and every time I left the room he started crying again, very unusual, he usually sleeps all the way through. I had a better nights sleep though, I even managed almost 4 hours without waking up

The weather is lovely here today, not sure what the days plans are going to be yet though.

HIWBB - Sorry you are feeling so crap not much longer to go now though and then it will all be just a memory

Chattyhan good luck today, hope ds behaves himself.

I hope everyones moods are better today. I was in a foul mood last thursday, its not nice feeling that way is it

lizziemun · 04/09/2007 09:43

I'm going to loiter on this thread (hopefully not for long) i am 40 +5, as i'm loney being one of the last on the august thread .

MrsFish · 04/09/2007 09:46

Good morning lizziemum. I hope things get started for you soon, is it your first? I was 4 days late with ds1, I'm hoping I'm not kept waiting too long this time

Hopeitwontbebig · 04/09/2007 09:55

Aw lissiemum, poor you, you must be v fed up. We'll keep you company here. Like you say, hopefully not for long...

OP posts:
EmLouT · 04/09/2007 10:06

HIWBB - I know exactly what you mean about being in a foul mood! I was awful yesterday -couldn't stop crying and just felt like this baby was never going to come!
I think I feel better today - am going out for lunch with some other lovely pregnant people so that will help lift the old spirits. It's just so lonely being at home alone (apart from the builders) and waiting.
Kitchen looks like it will be ready in about three weeks time so I will probably be stuck without a kitchen when LO comes - and yes, I am fed up of pre-prepared food - it just better be worth it!

Hi Lissiemum - welcome to the September thread. Glad to have you with us. Hopefully it won't be long now!

Have good days everyone - not long to wait for any of us!

lizziemun · 04/09/2007 10:19

Mrsfish

My this is my second, dd was born at 39 weeks and 9lb 4oz.

So this seems extra long to me. It's the phone calls that you get everyday are getting annoying.

Not including every time dh goes to work he gives me strict instructions to ring him should anything changes. I know he works an hour away, but does he realy think i wouldn't ring him.

MrsBumblebee · 04/09/2007 11:20

Morning all.

EmLouT, sorry to hear about your kitchen. I remember when ours was being done - all we had for a month was a microwave plonked on the living room carpet. And the Pizza Hut delivery guy knew us by name .

Sophus, surely you can combine the nipple stimulation with DH 'doing his stuff'. Got to be more fun that way .

Kinki, welcome home! So glad to hear that you and baby Liam are doing so well.

Welcome, yetihed and lizziemum . The more the merrier!

Well, I had a nice lie-in this morning, but am now feeling very sick. Probably signifies nothing, just a variation on indigestion.

Has anyone else not discussed the actual birth at all with their MW? Although I've written a birth plan, no-one's shown the slightest interest in seeing it, or mentioned birth choices at all (I haven't even had the breastfeeding spiel). At my last appointment, the MW (grumpy stand-in, to be fair, not my regular), just said, 'Well, we'll see you again in two weeks - if you make it that far'. Miserable old cow. Sod her, I've made an appointment for this week anyway, as my regular MW will be back by then, and she's always had a bit more time to chat!

EdieMcredie · 04/09/2007 11:21

Hopey-Im also thinking mine will be around 9lbs

Can't wait to find out!

Thought something was happening last night, kept getting these waves of pain in my tummy back and legs but they died off eventually. Felt a bit like period pain but much more intense. Also have a sharp increase in mucous (TMI), so much so that I thought it was my waters yesterday.

Well done to baby Liam, he sounds gorgeous, can't wait to see the photos.

Welcome Lizziemum, if im fed up with waiting at 38+5, I can't imagine what you are feeling like now!

EdieMcredie · 04/09/2007 11:24

...Oh and can't believe I forgot to mention-my tummy is soooo itchy!!!! It's driving me absolutely insane!! Kepp rubbing creams into it but I need some tips from someone as this is awful...

sophus · 04/09/2007 11:28

Mrs BB - last time we were in any sort of compromising position DP took one look at my burgeoning chest and just said "well i don't know what you expect me to do with those". So i think i'm on my own with the nipple stimulation, anyway you have to do it for about an hour - so i think i'd rather have a hand massage from him to help recover from the cramp i'm going to get!
S
(39 + 6 = 40 - 1!)

sophus · 04/09/2007 11:30

calamine and gylcerin cream
i am covered in the stuff as my internal thermostat has gone haywire and i have got heat rash. (the only person in britain to get heat rash this summer!)

but if you are really itchy you should get it checked out as it can be that unprounceable word thing.

MrsBumblebee · 04/09/2007 11:57

LOL at your dp, sophus .

(39+1 - though I like your 40-6 thinking)

Hopeitwontbebig · 04/09/2007 11:59

Edie, (birthweight) right you're on . I had a seriously itchy bump when I was having DS2. I had this MASSIVE stretch mark right down the front in my pubic area, I've still got the scar now, it's about an inch wide. It was SOOOO itchy, and quite an embarrassing place to be scratching . Bump definitely isn't as big this time, but I guess I've not been pigging as much as I did with my last two. I too have been feeling a bit 'icky' these past few days. I went to bed feeling like I was going to be sick at any moment. Fortunately I was so shattered I managed to fall asleep.

Sophus, your post made me laugh about nipple stimulation.

Has anyone bought any of that Lahnisol stuff? I bought some yesterday, it says something about rubbing in twice a day prenatally. Worth a try in preparation for BF. I have haunting memories of trying to BF DS1 and within minutes my poor nips were bleeding Put me RIGHT off. I SO SO SO want to make a success of it this time.

Where is Twit???????

HIWBB 37+2

OP posts:
MrsFish · 04/09/2007 12:28

The lahnisol stuff is great, that and nipple guards saved me with ds1. Without them I would have given up bf in the first two weeks, as it was I carried on for 5 months

kelmcd · 04/09/2007 12:38

Afternoon!! sitting here in my pjs still watching the telly and what should happen - I burst into tears when i see loose women win their award at the award thing how pathetic, think my hormones are going to give me one of those days

Chattyhan · 04/09/2007 12:43

HIWBB - thanks for the vibes re DS. Seems to have worked he was really good! Saw a different consultant this time and he said he wouldn't even consider induction! I'm not too bothered as i'd rather let things happen but i want it to happen now! LO is head down 3/5 engaged and spine is in a good position for birth. Consultant was impressed with engagement as it's baby no 2. He says things look fine and ready to go and then made an appointment for 41+2! i won't be going to that one My bump is definately smaller than DS and measuring 36cm.

Floss - My DS is same age as yours! When's his b'day my DS is 11th DEC

Welcome Lizziemun - sorry you're still waiting! Especially with being 1 week early last time - sending birth vibes your way ))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Mrs Bumblebee - no ones looked at my birth plan either!

Edie - my tummy is itchy too. I find massaging with oil helps instead of scratching but i understand the frustration i like the 40-1 but that makes me 40-12 so i think i'll stick to 38+2 for the moment!

Hopeitwontbebig · 04/09/2007 12:51

Glad your LO behaved! You sound ok about your consultant saying no to induction.. are you? Fingers crossed that things get started for you soon, so that your suffering ends!

MrsFish, thanks for your message regarding the nip cream. I feel justified in spending he £10 it cost me for one small tube of the stuff. Must admit, I did almost buy some nipple shield/guards yesterday but didn't. Maybe I should invest in some of those too then?

kelmcd, now you must truly be having a hormonal day if the loose women had you in tears . Let it all out now, there there I was having a tearful day yesterday, but feeling but brighter today.

Hopeitwontbebig · 04/09/2007 12:51
