emj23 · 27/08/2007 19:05

ECATLM - Good luck and hope you're feeling okay!

kyala · 27/08/2007 19:23

Jemima: Ah yes good old BR, they'd only make you clean it up yourself
Where are you meant to be going, anywhere nice? I was meant to be going to my friend's this weekend just gone but cancelled due to our "feelings" that LO would come early, Oh well, waste of a weekend that was!

Anywho, still haven't got round to doing that hospital bag (got up after writing that post and started hoovering, of all things!!)
Will get DH to remind me to do it later, and now on to the dinner. . . .

JemimaPuddleduck07 · 27/08/2007 19:35

Was meant to be going to a friend's DD's bday party and then staying on for a couple of nights. I also wanted to be around tomorrow to support her as it is the review board at the hospital where her sister died suddenly last month.

My "period pains" are getting stronger though so I think I'd better stay near home. Can't decide whether to ring DP. He's working 2 hours away, but we really need the money so I don't want him to lose the work if it's a false alarm. I'm only 37 + 3 and was expecting to go overdue again. It's probably just my uterus expanding again - surely it can't get any bigger

canadianmum · 27/08/2007 19:37

haven't done my hospital bag yet either, but do have a pile of relevant stuff sitting in baby's cot. That's kind of organised isn't it ???

EnormousChangesAtTheLastMinute · 27/08/2007 20:10

i'm still here - with a pile of things in moses basket waiting to be thrown into bag!
pretty sure it was a show earlier. rang hosp and they said sit tight so i am... sometimes getting some odd feelings but not sure if bh or contractions. but as rule of thumb is if you're not sure you're not in labour quite happy to hang out here. just been out with dd for pasta and ice cream.
very strange not knowing when things are going to gear up!

hope you're all well. i know what you mean about period pains Jemima. are you getting contraction like feelings too? (tho i find it hard to tell!) are you far from hosp?

dal21 · 27/08/2007 20:11

ECATLM - ohhh, it is sooo exciting! try and get a good nights sleep, and let us know how you get on. do you have a text buddy from this thread?

JemimaPuddleduck07 · 27/08/2007 21:32

ECATLM - The pains did start to get contraction like a couple of hours ago but have lessened since I sat down. Still achy though, especially if I get up and walk around. It is so frustrating not knowing whether this is going to progress sooner rather than later isn't it. Are you getting any contractions/pain? Sorry, I can't remember when are you due?

EnormousChangesAtTheLastMinute · 27/08/2007 21:38

not sure what i'm getting! some tightening. more brown mucus (sorry). and some twinging feelings in legs which are new. not sure what, if anything, that adds up to!
am keen to keep a lid on things if poss as planning hair cut, eyebrow wax etc before birth. sods law though got some strange spots (hormones?!) so will prob give birth now and look 'orrible and blotchy on photos - and in need of a hair cut!
due on sunday in theory... mum arrives saturday. not sure i'm going to be able to hold out that long. still, you never know. does drive you a bit nuts doesn't it? should i sleep now? worth it if things start moving in small hours but if i've got a couple of days should wait until bedtime.
maybe i'll toss a coin!
what is your plan of action?!

Hopeitwontbebig · 27/08/2007 21:40

Ooh good luck Jemima and ECATLM!

potoroo · 27/08/2007 21:48

Hi all - haven't been on for a while, because I've just finished up work.

4 weeks to go and I am still in denial... because we have decided to put in a new kitchen before baby arrives (DH's nesting strategy). So I am mildly panicing that the babies are already on their way!

Good luck Jemima and ECATLM

Hopeitwontbebig · 27/08/2007 22:07

Another one nesting to the extreme with a new kitchen!! Ours is just finished.

I've added a bump picture to my profile, also showing my lovely new kitchen!

Hello ladies!

Sorry I haven't been around - things have been manic this weekend!

I'll do 2 posts again, just to break it up a bit!

jemima - I soooo know what you mean about looking foward to the end of the school holidays! My DC's have been fantastic this year but I still find myself wanting time to go just a little bit faster LOL! Saying that - I won't have any little helpers around so I'm sure I'll miss them when they go back - catch 22! I've been getting period pains too but I think I had that with DD1 to so I'm not too worried.

MrsFish - glad you got a lie in the other day and that DH got on with sorting out DS, how refreshing!

ccpink - well done on surviving the il's!

EmLouT - I've been very sensitive lately too, I think its mostly because of being soooo tired but of course hormones do their bit too! Poor DH said this morning "I can't do anything right with you at the moment!" bless him!

kyala - oh my goodness, I'm going to have to wean myself off of the cheese triangles! (there's a voice telling me how gooooood they taste though!!!!).

MrsMar - I'm go glad you had a nice evening the other night and that DH brought you home nice and early! Sorry to hear about your sister and her boyfriend's accident...

emj - me too - I had my waters broke with both DS and DD1 so I have no idea what its like for them to go on their own as such!

canadianmum - as I said above, my poor DH doesn't know if he's coming or going lately! He says the slightest thing and I'm in tears and I've taken it far too personally!

dal - well done on having so much ready - you put your feet up now! I reckon I'll be at the same stage in a week or two's time and I'm fully planning on chilling out as much as possible!

HIWBB - so glad to hear DH is looking after you - did you enjoy your soak? I too had a bad night last night with my hips Love your photos by the way!

kelmcd - how lovely that you're seeing your parents especially after such a long time, I bet you can't wait!?

ECATLM - Hope you're OK? Did they tell you to have a bath (they always seem to say that!). Let us know how you're getting on!? Will be thinking of you!!

Well done on all those either at the 37 week mark or over it - I'll be joining you next week!!!

PurpleLostPrincess · 27/08/2007 23:30

Well, as I said, things have been manic around here as usual!

As far as the bike issue goes, I think he is getting a 125 rather than a proper road bike but to be honest, a bike is a bike in my book! I know too many people who have had accidents etc but I don't seem to be involved in the decision making on this one for some reason!! I can see the logic in terms of the fact that I'm the driver in the family and I can hardly fit behind the wheel now. (HIWBB - does it hurt your hip when you turn around corners when driving btw?). Apparently DH and my dad are thinking about when lo arrives and that it will take the pressure off me if DH can just drive himself to work (can't afford a crash course for proper driving or another car). He only works up the road and thats all he'll use it for. Thing is, I've always been the one to pop up the shops because I'm the only driver - I'm quite happy for him to take over on that front! Despite all of this, I still agree with everything you guys have said and feel like I'm caught in the middle. I think DH understands that I can trust his riding till I'm blue in the face but that won't make me trust other drivers! What a dilemma!

It's DD1's birthday tomorrow - this time 9 years ago I was about 4 centimeters dilated and was on my 2nd canister of g&a and about to give birth to my lovely baby girl! She was born at 3.07am and every birthday (hers and DS's) I relive each and every moment so I'm not expecting to sleep tonight lol! Needless to say, tomorrow will be just as busy with family visiting and I'm taking her and a few friends to the cinema too (couldn't cope with throwing a party!).

Today, we got up at 8am and started on the house - I went to B&Q's, Homebase and Argos and got loads of decorating stuff as well as DD1's birthday presents - I'm knackered!!!!!! I started having all sorts of pains and it suddenly hit me that I could have this baby at any time so I came home and finalised the packing of the babies hospital bag...

DH has painted the ceiling and glossed the skirting boards in the nursery so I feel like we're finally getting somewhere now !!!!!

Oh, and I survived the BBQ yesterday - yay! Of course I did have the same comversation over and over but I didn't mind as my bf's friends and family are sooo nice. Did get a bit worried when one of her friends turned out to be a midwife and was sure that I'm having twins... lol!

Take care all and big hugs! xxxxxxxxxx

it's getting so exciting - good luck ecatlm and Jemima

I have felt a bit achey and odd but think I've just done too much last week. Now I can't sleep - hence time - and seeing gyny at 9! Got my wallpaper and have decorator starting Friday which is very exciting. Finally packed my bag too - encouraged by the fact I felt a bit funny. I'll come back later to look for developments - off to other thread to see more ecatlm updates!!!

FlossALump · 28/08/2007 08:07

Hi everyone, I've had a busy weekend and not had time to post.

Good luck to all those who are getting crampy pains - hope things progress for you soon!

Feeling a little weird today and I was 37+ 6 when I went into labour with DS. At that point today. Despite pineapple, another old wives tale (ahem) and drinking RLT no signs baby wants out. TBH, i'm not really all that fed up or uncomfortable. I just want a healthy baby and a safe delivery. Just strange to think what was happening 2.9 yrs ago!

I have a hair appointment this afternoon so hopefully as last time, when the rest of me is a complete mess my hair will be ok!!

Have a nice week everyone. Hope you all enjoyed your BH.

MrsFish · 28/08/2007 08:57

Ooooh, its all getting exciting now, good luck to ECATLM and Jemima

HIWBB - Your kitchen looks fab, and nice bump too

Hope everyone has a good day x

dal21 · 28/08/2007 08:58

Hey everyone - good luck with contractions and those of us with appts today. I know a few of us have them - especially those of us on breech watch! I will pop back on this afternoon after my appt and update and post properly! Off to waitrose now to do mammoth shop - now that house/ baby stuff is sorted, cooking week is going to commence.

Hope everyone is feeling ok
xx

EmLouT · 28/08/2007 09:20

Gosh, this thread is getting very exciting! Can't wait to hear all the news. Unluckily, after a few days' repreive, the builders are back with me - I just can't wait to feel as though my home is my own again.

Am thinking of everyone who has appointments today - I have one tomorrow which I am relieved about because I think my waters are leaking a little - not huge gushes but little trickles - has anyone experienced this?

Anyway - back to supervising the builders. Have a good day everyone.

EnormousChangesAtTheLastMinute · 28/08/2007 10:46

morning! sorry but have to report a distinct lack of excitement from me - which i'm not too dismayed about - still things i'd like to do!
i am now thinking i've had a show and things are preparing but nothing feels imminent - could be days i think. this is fine as my mum arrives saturday so later in week is better for me.
still planning some 'grooming' and a haircut if i can. dh is putting up bookshelves - can hardly move for ikea boxes at the moment so it would be good to get that out of the way.

talking of home improvements fab kitchen hiwbb - it's huge! very envious of all that space. lovely dog too - llooks v well behaved and well groomed. our mutt is the polar opposite i think! scruffy terrier!

Hope you're doing well Jemima! have finger crossed for you! and good luck to all with scans and other appointments today.

Emlout - my waters leaked with dd and i was induced as there was some concern about infection. it is worth ringing your midwife just to let her know what's going on and wearing/keeping a pad so you can show them colour and amount. i learned from other thread that you have up to 96 hours before induction if there is no worry about infection. not trying to alarm you but once waters have broken things can move pretty fast. how many weeks are you?! good luck and do let us know!

take care all x

EnormousChangesAtTheLastMinute · 28/08/2007 10:49

ooops, sorry hiwbb, meant to say good bump too! don't want you to think i was being by ommission! just had my head turned by how the other half live with spacious kitchens and good dogs!

Hi everyone - EmTouT if you think you have broken your waters you should definately call the labour ward today and get checked out rather than waiting for tomorrow's appointment.

Exciting to hear about all these contractions starting - good luck to everyone

I am going in to the hospital this afternoon to see the doctors with my unstable lie and have packed my bag for a few nights worth of hospital stay just in case. To add to the complications DS had a fever last night - he does seem a lot better this morning but he kept saying mummy help last night and I would feel awful if I have to go into hospital for a bit and leave him. At least my mum is around to look after him.
