@AmyMaria2 not sure why it doesn't let me tag you properly. Nice to see familiar names x I also still don't sleep well. Starting 4am I'm turning around grilling myself in bed... restless until 6 to get up for work and then Completely shattered by 4pm! Confused so hard

APD1981 · 11/12/2019 19:40

@peetieswie @Babybird20

Also a fellow teacher here! I teach MFL at secondary school. First trimester and teaching is just horrific!

BabyBird20 · 11/12/2019 20:16

@Cornishbumpkin we're now due date buddies!! Quite nice having the full week fall on a Monday, find it hard to keep track!!

BabyBird20 · 11/12/2019 20:17

@APD1981 @peetieswie I don't know how anyone does it! Trying to pretend to be enthusiastic in front of 30 kids when exhausted and nauseous is a real challenge!!

BabyBird20 · 11/12/2019 20:20

@AndddddHerewegoagain It's such an awful wait isn't it!! They said it can be two weeks, I think I'll go crazy!

The scan went well today though confirmed the nuchal fold was thickened which isn't great news but doesn't automatically mean anything terrible it seems. Was lovely to see baby again though, still wriggling away in there!!

Cornishbumpkin · 11/12/2019 20:24

@BabyBird20 aww yay due date buddy Grin it will certainly make it easier to keep track lol

AndddddHerewegoagain · 11/12/2019 20:57

@BabyBird20 Yes it's been a week today for us so at least only 1 week to go. It's been horrible.

We missed the nuchal measurement as i was 3 weeks ahead of my predicted due date. Really annoyed especially now as with the blood test results.

AmyMaria2 · 11/12/2019 21:31

Congratulations @Zoey92 and @Cornishbumpkin the pics are lovely!! So glad all was okay x

@umabb hey, hope you're doing okay! Yes the sleeping is driving me crazy I'm having strange timed naps in the afternoons because I'm so tired, but then can't sleep very early! 😩 can barely stay up all day lol. x

Lovely seeing all the scan photos.
On new anti-sickness tabs, seem to be helping a bit better. Have rediscovered fennel tea, an acquired taste but quite soothing. Any days I'm off work I cannot stay awake in the afternoon. Somehow manage to keep going when I'm at work, must just crash on my off days.

Thanks everyone, she did say i have an anterior placenta (placenta at the front rather than behind) might mean i don't feel movement as much 🙄 but nothing to be alarmed about, ive read alot online that peolle still tend to feel alot.

@missisbee i wason cyclizine it worked wonders for me

AmyMaria2 · 11/12/2019 22:34

@Zoey92 I've heard a lot of people still feel the baby loads with front placenta, are you going to have a scan again before your 20 week one? Will you find out gender?x

@MissisBee I was struggling so much at work, but I had to take annual leave I hadn't already taken before January, so I've got all of December off! I'm hoping by the time I go back when I will be 18 weeks, I'll feel more energised lol. x

Zoey92 · 11/12/2019 22:43

@AmyMaria2 i feel alot more relaxed now I've had my scan, OH is quite happy to wait till 20wk scan for gender results, i may get impatient & book a private one, so i can see little one.
We do plan on finding out though.Do you plan on finding out gender? X

AmyMaria2 · 11/12/2019 23:10

@Zoey92 I thought I'd wait until 20 week scan but I wanted to know gender before Christmas so have a scan booked for 22nd, I'll be 16+4! Really hope they can tell me the gender then as I've invited some family over that evening to do a reveal😂 I wanted to do it Christmas Day but I know I won't be able to wait lol. I've felt like the space between 12 and 16 weeks is dragging so much. I couldn't of waited until 20 weeks! x

peetieswie · 12/12/2019 19:08

Risk letter came back, 1:100000 for both. Phew
Teachers, have you decided when you're telling your students? I teach sixth form so I'm thinking soonish.

APD1981 · 12/12/2019 20:57

I told my year 11s today, but only because it was an apt moment due to what we were talking about. Plus I wanted to reassure them that I'll (hopefully) just about make it to their GCSEs so I can conduct their orals and do revision sessions with them. They were really lovely and excited for me. I'll wait longer before telling the younger ones and I only teach 1 student in year 12 and it just feels to awkward to tell him at the mo!

BabyBird20 · 12/12/2019 21:51

@peetieswie phew! So glad for you!! I'm primary so not going to tell them til after Christmas!

hjbows88 · 12/12/2019 22:19

Is anyone else struggling with headaches? I’m getting them daily now. They’re not horrendous but have had to take paracetamol once or twice. Had them a few times in first trimester but it’s been daily the last week.

Also, is anyone else higher risk for pre-eclampsia? My mum had it so I have a consultant appointment in a few weeks as it apparently increases my risk. I’m supposed to take aspirin from now on but I’ve not started yet.

newbyxx · 13/12/2019 08:51

@hjbows88 I've been having some headaches over the last week or so like you not bad just can feel they're there. @AmyMaria2 I have my gender scan on 22nd too so excited, il only be 16+1 so I'm hoping theyre going to be able to tell! I'm 14+6 today and just don't 'feel' pregnant, it's quite unnerving and I'm a worrier anyway. I've read it's normal to feel well...normal again between 14-17 weeks. Is anyone else feeling like this? If it wasn't for a little bloat/bump I wouldn't think I was pregnant.

Smiffette · 13/12/2019 09:01

@newbyxx I totally know what you mean, apart from the odd headache now, I just feel normal again!
I have booked a private scan when I'll be 17+5 so hoping to get the gender then as well as a double check all is progressing nicely. 20week scan is booked for 3 weeks after the private one.
Not sure I'll be able to go from 20weeks to birth without booking by another scan in between 😬

Smiffette · 13/12/2019 09:02

Oh and I'm 14+5 today 😃

newbyxx · 13/12/2019 09:33

@Smiffette ahh close due dates! I'm seeing my midwife next Thursday so hoping to hear heartbeat to reassure me that bub is ok, so long between scans isn't it, I have to to extra growth scans at 27 and 36 weeks as had a low papp- a not to worried just more excited I get to see baby couple extra times. Glad I'm not the only one not 'feeling' pregnant x

QforCucumber · 13/12/2019 13:28

Symptoms all but gone here too, it's so worrying! Get me to the 24th for my 16 week scan!

chocolate26 · 13/12/2019 13:39

Hi Smile I'm 13 weeks, had my scan at 12+2 and all looked great! I'm starting to feel much better too, I've also had the headaches and extreme hunger!

I've had the normal ligament pain in my side when I move suddenly but over the past week I've had a sharp pain (only last 30 seconds or so) more central where you would expect baby to be! Are these my ligaments too? I've not had any bleeding.

AmyMaria2 · 13/12/2019 15:16

@newbyxx good luck I hope they can tell the gender for both of us, be so lovely to know just before christmas. I was going to do a reveal Christmas day but I won't be able to wait😂 I feel very anxious again, just because it's been so long since last scan I think. Got a proper bump now though and the headaches and insomnia are still awful, which is strangely reassuring lol.

I have to have an extra scan somewhere along the way when having antiD injections due to negative blood group, but other than that I'm sure I will book a few private ones from 20 weeks-birth. x

MissisBee · 13/12/2019 15:17

@hjbows88 I'm high risk for pre-eclampsia - had it with my first and delivered at 33+6 because of it. I was started on aspirin last week and will be seen in the consultant clinic from 26 weeks. They seem to think there's a high chance of me having blood pressure problems again this time
