As others have been sharing, here are my results:

DS 1:4500 (NT measurement was 1.1mm and I'm 38)

Edwards was less than 1:50000

Pataus was 1:18000

14+2

@Qforcucumber

Oh I wish I could get another scan at 16 weeks! I'm tempted to book a private one before Christmas because I want to see my baba! What's the reason for the extra scan, if you don't mind me asking?

QforCucumber · 10/12/2019 22:22

@APD1981 my pregnancy in April resulted in abolar holoprosencephaly, they discovered at the 13 week scan that baby had a chromosome issue and had a 3% chance of survival to birth, it usually isn't picked up until later. The 16 week is to make sure this one isn't also suffering. I'm so nervous tbh. 1st pregnancy I lost at 8 weeks and hemmoraged, DS was normal but still a hemmodage when giving birth And then baby 3 had the above. Sometimes wonder if it's worth the heartache..

BabyBird20 · 10/12/2019 22:36

Thanks you@APD1981 and @Smiffette !! I'm trying to think positive!! It takes up to ten days for the results so yet more waiting!! Will have to keep myself busy!!

APD1981 · 10/12/2019 22:40

@Qforcucumber wow, that's so stressful for you. You've been through so much already! Try to enjoy the next couple of weeks before you scan and hopefully you'll get the best Christmas present ever! X

peetieswie · 10/12/2019 22:46

Missed another call from unknown number today while I was teaching so still don't know if it was midwife or hospital with bad news. Also couldn't sleep all of last night so fell asleep at 7 this evening and woke up at 10. Husband wasn't home from work and knew he'd be late but not that late, so I've just spent 40minutes literally bawling convinced he'd been in an accident (he wasn't answering his phone) . He just phoned and he was running later than he expected. Anyone else been overly emotional?

peetieswie · 10/12/2019 22:56

Update:he's back now. Feels really bad he didn't let me know it overran and I've been crying for an hour.

BabyBird20 · 11/12/2019 06:26

@peetieswie I'm a teacher too and kept missing calls from midwives so when I saw them yesterday for more blood tests I asked them to only call at lunchtime or after 3.45 and they've put it on my notes! If you're worried it's the scan results could you call the midwife number on your orange book and check? Mine had been told I was high fish already when I contacted them the next day!!

Also, yes I'm ridiculously emotional, I've cried at a Christmas song on the radio, hearing my class do a poem, and various other ridiculous things!! 😬😬

BabyBird20 · 11/12/2019 06:37

High risk* not high fish! Messaging too early clearly!!

MrsD20 · 11/12/2019 06:54

Woohoo! The big secret is finally out!! It's so strange to have finally got to this stage, yet peeing on a stick feels like a bloody life time ago 🙈

Congratulations to all those that have had scans and those close to having them ❤️

BabyBird20 · 11/12/2019 06:59

@MrsD20 aww congratulations!! Such a good scan pic! 😍😍 It's so nice to get to that point isn't it, those three months were the slowest in my life!! X

MrsD20 · 11/12/2019 07:12

Thank you @BabyBird20 Yes we were pleased with the pic, we just hope baby's nose isn't quite that pointy really 😂 Now we've all got the little wait for the next one 🙈 xxx

Lemonysherbet · 11/12/2019 07:12

@BabyBird20 is your test today? Good luck, I'll be thinking of you. It's added stress getting those results, I didn't understand my letter and it made me so panicked. Also the risk might be classed as high but its still a 1 in 102 chance, which if you actually think about it isn't that likely! Baby made it through the risk of 1/4 ending in miscarriage by 12 weeks so baby is strong!

@MrsD20 oh congrats, that is a lovely scan photo. That 12 week milestone feels like it takes 6 months to get to!

I've found time is flying post scan now, got my 16 week check up next week and hopefully get to hear babies heartbeat, can't wait! I also feel like I'm starting to get a bump, which I thought would take forever as I'm overweight but my tummy is hardening and rounding out. So excited to feel kicks too.

Finally stopped throwing up (4 days not vomiting!) And I'm over the moon. I feel so much happier and can handle the other stuff like the headaches and constant weeing!

BabyBird20 · 11/12/2019 07:25

@Lemonysherbet that is a very good point!! Hadn't thought of it compared to the early risks!! I'm trying very hard to focus on the 101/102 that wouldn't have DS!! Tests and a scan today then the dreaded waiting begins again!! Though I'm coming to the conclusion that it wouldn't change anything even if I discovered it did have Downs, I'd just be able to prepare myself for it better!! Fingers crossed I'll soon discover in out of the risk zone though!!

How lovely that you're feeling kicks!! When does that start? I can't wait!! 😍😍

APD1981 · 11/12/2019 07:45

@Babybird20 and don't forget it's 1 in 102 of women who have the same risk factor as you. Not 1 in 102 women who are pregnant. So when you think about it, it's still a very small risk!

Lemonysherbet · 11/12/2019 07:47

@BabyBird20 oh sadly no kicks yet, I think they usually start anywheb between 18 and 24 weeks so not too long to wait. I think it will make things seem more real :) that's the best way to be, it's hard to stay positive but nothing can change what's happening so staying positive really makes it easier

Zoey92 · 11/12/2019 10:12

Ahh I'm so nervous I've FINALLY got my scan today 🙊

QforCucumber · 11/12/2019 10:16

@APD1981 sorry if i was very blunt in my response last night, DH and I are very open in talking about it all and we forget sometimes that it can make others feel weird!

Nothing on the 13 weeks scan to indicate any issues so hopefully all ok but you can just never know!

AndddddHerewegoagain · 11/12/2019 12:16

@BabyBird20 i am in the same position as you though my risk is slightly higher. Had my nipt last week so sat here slowly going mad awaiting results. There's a couple of threads on antenatal testing where we are all waiting results and a very experienced midwife who has been brilliant with support and advice xx

APD1981 · 11/12/2019 13:00

@Qforcucumber. I didn't notice any bluntness! It's good to be open about it Smile

Good luck today, Zoe x

AmyMaria2 · 11/12/2019 13:51

Good luck today @BabyBird20 I really hope yours and @AndddddHerewegoagain results are okay. Thinking of you!

Good luck today @Zoey92 i can't wait to hear about It!! x

the insomnia is driving me crazy, I was up from 3am again, instead of sickness it's headaches and no sleep, but shouldn't moan! I feel like it's been such a long time between my 12 week and 16 week scan, still got to wait until 22nd December!

15+0

Cornishbumpkin · 11/12/2019 14:20

Finally had my '12 week' scan today. Thought I was 12+1 but actually 13+2 😁 due date now 15th June. Nausea is a lot better so hopefully can start enjoying pregnancy. Hope everyone is well

Everything went fantastic! Baby was a right little wriggler & loved tucking his/her chin right in 😂 12w3d due 21st June.
All measurements looked good but took 3 attempts to take bloods 🤦‍♀️ x

@babybird20 hello fellow teacher! Dragging myself to end of term. Thanks for the advice regarding midwife calls.

umabb · 11/12/2019 18:23

Hey ladies, lovely to see so many baby photos here and glad to know you are all well.
I did the nuchal scan privately last week at 12w+3 and result was all low risk which is a relief. Today (13+3) I had my nhs scan ( just thought its nice to see the baby again before Xmas) and it was the same result (of course). However I was expecting the baby would be a bit bigger than 70.8mm CRL (some apps that I'm on said it would be around 80mm) the heart rate has reduced a bit to 161bpm. Are your figures similar at nuchal? I'm probably just overthinking because 70.8mm is indeed equivalent to 13+2. Maybe I should just stop to use that app altogether...Hmm
