@mrsf1204 thanks for your reply. I have my mum and husband too but I think they are getting fed up with me being so negative. I really hope it’s good news for you at your scan, which I’m sure it will be. Just trying to carry on as normal at the moment but because it’s getting so close to my scan it keeps popping back in my head with negative thoughts! It would be such a shame to get to 12 weeks but have bad news. X

mintbear · 22/10/2019 15:17

@Shelbustotherescue
We think we're having a boy too, now you've said that I'm sure of it!

@fluffyunicorns86
Lovely scan pic. I didn't realise there was such a thing as the nub and skull theory until reading this thread, so I'm interested to see what others think.

Did anyone else see their babies forward facing?? I would advise you don't do this lol!!

MrsWhy · 22/10/2019 15:26

Hi everyone, I'm 9 weeks today 👍🏼
I had my first midwife appointment the other day but she had run out of maternity books. Should I go back and see if I can get one now or wait for my scan?

sao81 · 22/10/2019 15:26

@mintbear my first baby! Her 20 week scan she was forward facing and omg I got the shock of my life it looked so odd! I'll try find a pic

@sao81
Yep!!!
I got a shock when they showed me yesterday too! 'Iron man' comes to mind!

Emmacb82 · 22/10/2019 18:14

Lovely scan pics everyone!! Can’t wait to find out when my scan is, feels like forever! X

firsttimer1980 · 22/10/2019 18:17

Loving all the scans! Congrats to all. And loving this nub and skull theory. Just checked my scan and I think it's a boy. I have a feeling is a boy anyway, but still gonna keep it a surprise 😬

What stretch marks creams are you ladies using? Any good recommendations? And recommendations for pregnancy sleeping pillow too please 🙏🏻🙏🏻 x

May2311 · 22/10/2019 19:24

Lovely scan photos everyone- so glad it was happy news for you all😊😊 my turn in the morning- so excited/nervous/anxious 😬😬xxx

Mummy0fboys · 22/10/2019 19:47

Hey everyone, just joining the May crew.
My EDD is 12th May, i have my dating scan a week tomorrow though :)

november90 · 22/10/2019 19:48

@mintbear well I thought the skull theory was that if it was more rounded it was a girl, and more angular for a boy! So I would've said definite girl for the skull theory but then the nub looks like it could be pointing up which suggests boy.... so in conclusion I'm not sure 😂 it's all just a bit of fun really.. everyone's interpretation of the scans is so different! Do you think you will find out? I am convinced I'm having another boy! All my random symptoms I have scream boy when I google them 🙈 Feel so lucky either way ❤️

november90 · 22/10/2019 19:51

@fluffyunicorns86 I would say boy, but it looks like the nub isn't visible so that's just going off the skull theory. My 12 week scan for my first was very similar and he is a gorgeous little boy!
But like I said in my last post, I'm not sure the credibility of these theories! But it is exciting whilst we have to wait 🙈❤️

Shelbustotherescue · 22/10/2019 20:20

Here's a little pic of a the skull differences - the nub theory is to do with the angle of the nub - girls are flat and parallel to the spine and bladder, boys are at a 30' angle from the spine Smile

sazzlerazzle · 22/10/2019 20:28

@mintbear glad it’s not just me who had never heard of this nub and skull theory!! Learning something new every day 😊

CurlyJB88 · 22/10/2019 20:28

Hiya, just found this thread! Can i join?! I am due (based on my dates) on the 9th May!
I have my 12 week scan tomorrow at 19:05 (don't know how I'll last all day tomorrow with nerves) i should be 11 weeks & 4 days tomorrow! 😊🤞🏻

sazzlerazzle · 22/10/2019 20:34

Congratulations @CurlyJB88 and let us know how you get on with the scan tomorrow!

facevalue · 22/10/2019 20:39

@mummy0fboys welcome to the thread. it moves fast. how many boys have you got? assuming from your name only 😂

i love all the scan pictures.

@may2311 goodluck tomorrow. my scan is a week on friday 😍😍😍👍🏼

@firsttimer1980 i would love to say a cream will help BUT the truth is it's just genetics! i've had no stretch marks at all with my first pregnancy and i'm not thin however my mum never had stretch marks either. I did use a moisturiser everyday twice a day - it really does not matter which one you use.. i used Nivea intense moisture or dry skin and E45 ( i don't have dry skin). i wouldn't waste too much money on this.

the pregnancy U shaped pillow is the best but it's expensive - there are cheaper versions on Amazon. my hubby got me a cheap one - 32£ last time and it was irritating . i found the perfect one now

facevalue · 22/10/2019 20:44

@curlyJB88 hey. how have you been feeling? first baby? have you told ppl or waiting for a scan? r u getting any extra tests or just the NHS ones xxx goodluck tomorrow 👍🏼😍

mintbear · 22/10/2019 20:54

@november90
Thanks for your thoughts! Yes, it is all a bit of fun and it's taking my mind off of negative pregnancy symptoms onto the thought of baby which is good!

Have you had your scan yet?

Yes, I think we will find out. I wasn't keen but hubby thinks it'll be good for us to make a connection. I sort of think because he is not going through the pregnancy, if he thinks it'll help him, I'm happy to go with what he wants.

I was just going to ask which creams/oils people were using for stretch marks so I'm interested to see people's responses.

As for a pillow I'm using the dream genie, but I'm not sold, it keeps me on my side and I just want to be on my back (I know this is not ideal and I need to learn to sleep on my side).

CurlyJB88 · 22/10/2019 21:14

Thank you @sazzlerazzle & I will do 😊

Hi @facevalue this is actually my second baby, I've got a little boy who is 5. Have also had 2 x miscarriages, hence being so nervous for tomorrow. I have told a few people, my mum, few friends. I'm rubbish at keeping it to myself!
No extra tests, just the screening etc at the scan. Thank you for the good luck! I need it 🤞🏻

How is everyone else getting on?
Anyone else due a scan tomorrow? Xx

sazzlerazzle · 22/10/2019 21:20

@CurlyJB88 mine is on Thursday... tomorrow will be a looooong day!!

Shelbustotherescue · 22/10/2019 21:21
