They just called me and booked 20w scan for January 8. They said it has to be done at exactly 20w 6d 🤷🏻‍♀️ Let the 2 month wait begin! I wish it was before Christmas or at least New Year so we could relax for the holidays a bit - oh well.

facevalue · 12/11/2019 14:27

@woollycat it's funny how everyone thinks differently ... i was given my 20w scan date for 30th and i asked them to push it away! so now it's 2jan cos i wanted to be relaxed for new year's eve- didn't want to know anything abnormal etc ( i always expect the worst) . goodluck

Raindancer411 · 12/11/2019 14:31

I have to admit I am worry about the test results as I am 38 for this pregnancy

fluffyunicorns86 · 12/11/2019 14:52

I have to wait for my 20 week scan to come through post and really want it to come through quickly I be 20 weeks just before Christmas.

123Pandy · 12/11/2019 15:12

@woollycat same - I think I'll do it too. I'm over 35 and I think the extra reassurance would help.

Pastnowfuture · 12/11/2019 16:02

@Sunshine8888 Mine is 11th of December. They gave me it at my 12 week scan.

mrsf1204 · 12/11/2019 16:06

I've just and my screening results through and both DS and Edwards and Pat have come back low chance 1 in 20,000.

Guessing that's good?! To be honest it over my head in the scan I was just so excited to see our baby! But I do remember her saying they would call if anything was high risk.

Emmacb82 · 12/11/2019 16:10

One more sleep and then my scans tomorrow. Well I say sleep but I’m actually working a night shift tonight and then having to stay awake tomorrow 😫 not looking forward to that! But can’t wait to see our little bean again. We are very lucky at our nhs trust as they offer the harmony test there if your results come back as higher risk so we don’t have to pay. We ended up having it last time so I imagine it will be the same this time especially as I’m older.

Sunshine8888 · 12/11/2019 17:19

I am really hoping my 20 week scan is before Christmas!! It definitely should be because I’m 16 weeks at the end of this week!

mintbear · 12/11/2019 17:57

@Sunshine8888
Mine came through the post last week, booked in for 17 December, I'll be 20+5.

Enjoyed reading through the comments today. My maternal family have historically been quite anti boys, again, no idea why. I'm convinced I'm having a boy (my husband wants to find out at 20 week scan) so we will see! I'm not fussed either way.

I've not been sick today which is a pretty big deal Smile

Someone mentioned their boobs still hurting, ditto. I feel like they have their own gravitational pull, especially at the end of the day.

Good luck to all those having scans, such a special time, enjoy!

Bumpingalong84 · 12/11/2019 18:47

Hi ladies. Happy to report that we had an amazing 12 wk scan. So relieved and excited. Baby was wriggling so much and we saw it kicking it’s legs lots. The relief is immense.

Any guesses on sex ladies? We have our 20wk scan on New Year’s Eve which will be lovely ❤️

mrsf1204 · 12/11/2019 18:51

Aww @Bumpingalong84 I'm so relieved for you!!!! Yay!!!! I'm going to guess boy, although I have no clue on this theory thing so I'm just going with a feeling 😂 are you going to be finding out? So happy for you. I imagine it was a really anxious time before you went in but instant relief! I had that! Then when I started crying the baby started moving around 😂😂

Bumpingalong84 · 12/11/2019 18:58

Aww @mrsf1204 I started crying before I went in, the lady was amazing and reassured me straight away pointing out heartbeat and saying breath, I just had tears rolling down my face. She went through everything and really took her time.

The relief was instant like you say, it’s amazing the weight I felt come off my chest. Telling our DD was equally emotional.

We will be finding out yes 😊 everyone who knows also thinks boy. I’m not sure, but it’s definitely felt different to my pregnancy with DD and less nausea. Either will be amazing but like this guessing game haha, I’m useless at it tho.

Pastnowfuture · 12/11/2019 19:32

@Bumpingalong84 Lovely pic. I'm no good at nub theory but I guess girl.

rosewater20 · 12/11/2019 19:58

I have my 20-week scan on Dec 16th but I don't have my 12-week scan until 22 Nov at which point I will be almost 13 +5 weeks. At my 20-week scan, I will only be 17 + 2. If I have my 20-week two weeks early is that bad?

Bumpingalong84 · 12/11/2019 20:05

@rosewater20 I’d check that out as thought It had to be after 19wks but I might be wrong. Might be worth asking the midwife.

woollycat · 12/11/2019 20:13

@rosewater20 NHS says between 18 and 21 weeks pregnant: www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/20-week-scan/

So I would question why it's currently booked that early.

rosewater20 · 12/11/2019 20:33

@woollycat@Bumpingalong84 I just looked at the appointment information and the Dec. 16th appointment is listed as an office visit. I am assuming that when my 12-week scan is done in two weeks, they will book my next proper scan. I doubt I will be able to get my scan done before New Years because I have a work trip booked to America when I am 18 weeks and then we have the holidays, and then I am off to Paris for the week. I was hoping to have good news before Christmas, so I could relax a bit although I have a private OBGYN and she does scans at every office visit, so I assume I will at least know that baby is alive and well from my Dec. appointment.

sazzlerazzle · 12/11/2019 20:52

@Bumpingalong84 gorgeous!! Glad it all went well and that you’re feeling relieved ❤️

St38 · 12/11/2019 23:54

Hi everyone! I’m almost 16 weeks now. Feeling a bit anxious now that the early nausea is gone and most of the annoying symptoms too. I don’t feel that pregnant now. I guess I feel it’s a long wait until the 20 week scan. Hope everyone is doing well.

helpasisterout · 13/11/2019 04:09

Got my scan later today wide awake totally petrified of potential outcome!! Agh think I might have to get up and do something productive!

facevalue · 13/11/2019 05:41

@helpasisterout you will be fine x try to eat something comforting x

@St38 hi i'm 13+4 and for the last 2 days i ate like a pig and hardly had any nausea ! the beautiful 2nd trimester is here finally 😘😍 try to enjoy it and not worry

@Bumpingalong84 that a beautiful baby image x enjoy

Caspianberg · 13/11/2019 06:18

Hi, haven't caught up recently. I'm 16 weeks now, next scan 5th December. My due date has been moved around so potentially as early as 23rd April, otherwise 2nd May. Maybe they will get another guess at next scan!

I haven't had many symptoms recently. Although I walked back up the hill to my house on monday which is pretty steep and 1km, then had a huge cramp like pain for 20 mins or so.
Maybe I walked too fast, but I am panicking now slightly that I have no idea whats happening inside, as no kicking yet, yet little symptoms. Had last scan 2 weeks ago when all was fine.

Is anyone else very hungry? I think I have put on around 3kg now. But this morning I woke at 5am, couldn't sleep and stomach was grumbling like I hadn't eaten for a week. Had to get up by 6am to make emergency tea and toast.

Also, has anyone starting buying anything yet, or when do you plan to?
I bought a tiny cardigan and booties as they were cute, but haven't started anything else yet. Thinking I will wait until scan in December (20 week one), then start getting stuff in January sales onwards. or is that too soon?

november90 · 13/11/2019 08:05

@Bumpingalong84 congratulations on your gorgeous scan photo! I bet you're on cloud nine right now and can't wait to share your amazing news!
The nub isn't overly obvious there but it looks like it is pointing up more then it is parallel so I would guess boy... but that's just my interpretation and I could be wrong! Either way this is clearly one very loved baby already! ❤️

november90 · 13/11/2019 08:15

So I'm 14 weeks and i think I've really turned a corner recently! For the past week I've been able to stay up past 8:30 and I've just felt a lot more myself! The only thing that is strange is that all I want to eat is sweets and desserts and no meals. Like come tea time I can't think of a single food i want to eat apart from cereal. It's so weird I can't explain it. I'm also really struggling drinking. I think early in many meals and water made me feel terrible and now it's just in my brain... I don't know. Anyone the same?
