I wish I could be more positive, I know you’re right and the likelihood is that all will be well but I really don’t like this 12-20 week bit! I can’t feel baby at all, I don’t seem to have a growing bump... I barely look pregnant in the mornings and still fitting in size 8 clothes. the only signs I have is tiredness and my boobs still really hurt. Is it normal to feel like this? I just want to be excited and know everything is ok. Just over 15 weeks now. X

Emmacb82 · 11/11/2019 08:54

Happy 12 weeks to me today lol. Feels like it’s been forever up to this point! Scan on Wednesday and can’t wait. Had a horrible dream last night that it all went wrong and woke up crying 😞
Try not to worry @Sunshine8888 I haven’t felt pregnant at all the whole time. No symptoms other than a bit tired but I do night shifts and have a toddler so that’s normal! I do have a fair bump but that’s mainly cos it’s my second I think, it’s normally flat in the morning which used to worry me but by the evening it’s pretty big. I’m sure all is fine x

Purple29 · 11/11/2019 08:56

Has anyone had a really bad cold? I have felt awful for 3 days now and cant do or take anything!! I'm exhausted and dont really feel like eating. Was having such a good, almost symptom free pregnancy until this and it's really knocked me for 6!!

Linzapip · 11/11/2019 09:30

Hello all. I am new to mums net, I have 2 girls 7 and 9 and currently pregnant with no 3. My due date is 15th May 2020 but I have my first scan tomorrow at 13+ 4 days. I've had to wait so long for the scan.
I've had such bad morning sickness and generally feel like rubbish. How are you all getting on?

woollycat · 11/11/2019 10:35

12+1 today and back to work after having had 6 weeks off work due to vomiting and nausea. Let's see how this goes! Also dating scan is at 4pm!

@Sunshine8888 I can imagine the difficulty of not knowing - I think I'll start feeling that after this scan. The good news is that the chances of things going wrong are now much lower. There is also always the option of an extra private scan if feeling really anxious.

Hope everyone is doing ok. Hugs to those who suffer from bas symptoms or anxiety.

mrsf1204 · 11/11/2019 11:21

@Purple29 YES! I am so poorly. I've had this cold for 2 weeks now, had my flu jab last week not sure if thats kept it lingering but it's the worst one I've had in a long time. I keep throwing up yellow frothy bile too so I have an appointment to get checked over as it sounds like a chest infection. It's a nightmare as I can't take my usual treatments for a cold. Steaming last night seemed to help a bit xx

Purple29 · 11/11/2019 12:30

@mrsf1204 it's horrible isn't it!!! Theyve told me to hold off on the flu jab till I'm over this. I steamed a little this morning, only worked for a little bit. So I'm on lemon tea with honey, menthol sweets and if I need to a paracetamol!! So far I've not been sick, so I feel for you!! I miss my go to day and night nurse!!! Lol.... 3 days of it now and no sign of it going anywhere!! Fingers crossed we feel better soon x

Sunshine8888 · 11/11/2019 13:28

Sorry to those suffering with colds. I had one a couple of weeks ago and it lasted over a week. It’s horrible not being able to take anything. I haven’t taken so much as a painkiller since I found out. Suffering headaches when I would normally just knock them on the head with tablets! Yuck!

Purple29 · 11/11/2019 15:04

@sunshine8888 I caved and had 1 paracetamol yesterday, then not only did I feel ill, I felt horribly guilty too!!! Now have some sitting on my desk at work and cant bring myself to take them!!

Missmuck · 11/11/2019 15:11

Paracetamol is safe to take in pregnancy x

mrsf1204 · 11/11/2019 15:51

@Purple29 mines been here for 1.5 weeks now and it's horrible! I hope you're doesnt last too long! Paracetamol is fine, i asked the midwife last week as my headaches were bad with my sinuses, she said you can take it as you would normally, no restrictions at all. It's perfectly safe.

Sunshine8888 · 11/11/2019 17:29

Yeah I think each to their own on painkillers. The nhs site seems to advise it’s the best thing to take but it’s better not to take anything if you can help it or take the lowest dose for the shortest amount of time. Baby is still only about the size of an avocado 🥑 atm, still seems so tiny to me!!

123Pandy · 11/11/2019 18:27

Had my private scan last week and thankfully all
Seems ok!! The doctor I saw asked me about the Harmony test...which I wasn't sure about.
Anyone thinking about doing it?

Missmuck · 11/11/2019 18:30

What is a harmony test is it when they measure the nuchal fold and take bloods to test for Down's syndrome and peters syndrome? X

May2311 · 11/11/2019 18:38

Evening everyone,

After a little bit of advice....

First pregnancy and 13+ 4 today. I know everyone is different but from what I have read I didn't expect to be showing until at least 16 weeks with it being my first- especially not with people noticing!

I have attached a picture as I feel HUGE! Little worried incase baby is growing too quickly 🙈 if that's even a thing!!

I think I've also mentioned this previously but I feel like sometimes ( for example in the bath) I notice a "pulse" movement on my stomach- I know this is extremely unlikely to be baby with only being 13wks but I'm starting to panic they have dated me wrong as I was put back 12 days at my dating scan!!

To top it off I have had coccyx pain for weeks now- it has now spread into my left side of my back so my thinking is because my baby is getting so big in there🙈

Any advice/reassurance will be massively appreciated 😘

Bumpingalong84 · 11/11/2019 18:39

Hey ladies, have had a very busy few @Sunshine8888 this is your first right? I didn’t feel my first till about 17/18weeks. I had the smallest of bumps starting around 16weeks so I wouldn’t worry at all. It does seem like an awful long wait tho I know. Soon you’ll hear the HB at 16wks that’s always so lovely.

I am 12+5 today and have my dating scan tomorrow morning. So anxious and nervous even tho we saw the baby at 10+6. Scary going back to the maternity unit tomorrow and not epu! Will bring back some sad memories for me.

123Pandy · 11/11/2019 18:45

@Missmuck it's a blood test which is more accurate than just giving a risk. I read somewhere that the NHS test is about 75% accurate whereas this is 99% accurate. But...it does cost £500

123Pandy · 11/11/2019 18:46

@May2311 I'm also showing..and it's my first. In fact most people have already suspected I'm expecting! I guess it varies from person to person

Sunshine8888 · 11/11/2019 18:53

@May2311 I also have the pulsing in my stomach, it’s very weird! But there’s lots of blood flowing and it’s in time with my heartbeat so it makes sense!

@Bumpingalong84 yes thank you, lots of ladies are saying around then - I just can’t wait! I have my midwife app on Friday so really hoping I’ll hear the heartbeat then and feel a bit better 😊

Katyb89x · 11/11/2019 19:04

Hi everyone,
@May2311 I'm 11 weeks 5 days today and of a night time mostly my bump is very obvious and this is my first. It's quite obvious of a day too and feel like people are looking at my belly in work haha 🙈 I've attached a pic that was from last week! I have my 12 week scan friday, cannot come quick enough! Felt quite sick today and does anyone get the feeling that they're really full and have indigestion? I've had that so bad today!
Hope everyone who's suffering from a cold is okay!! Xx

@123Pandy ah right is that he one where they can do the gender too or am is that a totally different one?
@Katyb89x twins? X

Katyb89x · 11/11/2019 19:22

@Missmuck 😂🙈 nooo, I went for an early scanned and there was only 1 little bean in there xx

mintbear · 11/11/2019 20:01

@May2311
I too am concerned over the size of my bump. My friends told me I looked 6 months pregnant (to be fair, I do) but I was quite sensitive over the comment.

It was the first day I'd worn something tight.. so I've quickly gone back to baggy clothes.

I'm going to speak to the midway about it but I really think it'll be a case of everyone is different and all bumps are different.

My due date is 30 April, but I know when I ovulated and by my dates I'm due 5 May. So I've been worried about the baby being 'too big'.

This is my first and I'm 15+4.
Started really showing between 9-10 weeks, so very early.

sazzlerazzle · 11/11/2019 20:45

@mintbear it’s astonishing how people feel they have carte blanche to comment on your physical appearance once they know you’re pregnant. I’ve had it from a couple of people - both work colleagues and both who also commented on my boobs!!! On what planet would that be considered a normal thing to do!!

Btw, anyone maternity pillow shopping... I’m sending my dreamgenii back after two nights. It’s not for me at all. I know sleeping on your left is favoured but I cannot sleep in that one position aaallllll night, it’s killing my hips already. The pillow doesn’t allow for movement and to be honest, is awfully cheap and flimsy for what you pay.

sazzlerazzle · 11/11/2019 20:50

@May2311 it’s a lovely bump, congrats 😊 I really wouldn’t worry, everyone is different and will show at different stages. I started to show at 13 weeks and this is my first. Now 13 weeks and very definitely got a bump showing! If you’ve had your scan and all looks well then you can relax :)
