@sunshine8888 I can! I find it fascinating and weird in equal amounts 😁

mintbear · 03/11/2019 15:55

@Sunshine8888 I just looked at mine as I was curious, I can see it pulsating too.
Today is the first time I've felt any movement following the party they had in there on Tuesday. I was a bit worried but my sister said it that was normal at the beginning.

@Helensss I agree with @sazzlerazzle try get hold of your midwife but I've read lots of times that spitting can be normal. I know someone who had spotting throughout their pregnancy x

mintbear · 03/11/2019 15:56

*spotting

Sunshine8888 · 03/11/2019 16:08

Wow are you feeling movement @mintbear? I really wish I could. I keep freaking out and worrying about whether everything is ok!

May2311 · 03/11/2019 16:26

I've noticed the pulsing!! It's so strange but exciting. I don't think I've felt any movement yet- although some flutters ( I think more trapped wind 😂🙈) so makes me wonder if it's baby!

Those who have other children- when did you start noticing movements with your first?

MarchingAnts · 03/11/2019 16:29

I'm 13 weeks.. don't think I noticed movement with my first until about 30 weeks though!

mintbear · 03/11/2019 16:34

@Sunshine8888 Yes, I felt it on Tuesday and I'm certain it was the baby. Ive felt a few odd flutters since. I know it's early but I also know my placenta is at the back, which I'm sure is helping!
Sorry to read youve had such horrible experiences with the nhs. Here's hoping the 20 week scan will be better.. even though it's a long way off. I've not had my date through for that yet, I must follow up.

I've got a midwife appointment in a few weeks, I think I've just got to take a urine sample and my notes, no blood this time (thank god!). I've booked a scan this Saturday, just for peace of mind (I'll be 15+2) and I want to see the little one on the screen again.

Clairesoph · 03/11/2019 16:49

I didnt feel much with my first til about 24 weeks I think, had a placenta at the front too but ive felt the odd flutter once or twice. Nothing consistent and Im not 100% sure its baby but defo feels similar to those first movements with my son 😩 just so desperate for my scan to know everything is actually okay 😭

Sunshine8888 · 03/11/2019 17:27

Another question sorry! What are people using to try and prevent stretch marks?

Emmacb82 · 03/11/2019 17:58

@Helensss I had some similar spotting a couple of weeks ago and panicked lots, but it turned out to be nothing and haven’t had any more since so try not to worry too much but seek help even if it’s just for reassurance x

I’ve been so tired today, have literally just sat on the couch all day and just demolished a roast dinner cooked by my hubby. Only 10 days till my scan, feel like I’ve waited for ages!

Pastnowfuture · 03/11/2019 18:09

@Sunshine8888 I've heard loads of good things about clarins huile tonic. It's a bit pricey though. I might put it on my Christmas wish list but in the meantime I've just got Kit and Kin strech mark oil. It's 9.99 and comes in a spray which I prefer. I've only used it a couple of times so far but it smells amazing and sinks in quickly so I'm very happy with it.

Nutsty25 · 03/11/2019 18:42

@Emmacb82 I have my first scan on Tuesday and time has gone so slow since I got the letter!

This is my first and I’m slightly obsessing about how much I have to drink before to get a moderately full bladder 🤦🏻‍♀️

FreeDougJudy · 03/11/2019 19:31

Hi all!! Hope you don’t mind me joining this thread! I’m 13+6 and due 04.05.2020 with my first! I’m so so excited and overwhelmed, there’s so much to sort out! How is everyone?

Emmacb82 · 03/11/2019 19:33

@Nutsty25 ah good luck for Tuesday! I had a private scan at 8 weeks and drank about 500mls water about half hour before and that seemed to be enough!

123Pandy · 03/11/2019 19:48

I feel your pain @Raindancer411
Anyone else feeling more nauseous at 11 weeks? Thought it was meant to get better!

Raindancer411 · 03/11/2019 20:03

@123pandy I am around 11 weeks so glad it's not just me. Anyone else tell us it starts to ease up soon?

slowrunningteacher · 03/11/2019 20:12

I've been reading this thread (and the previous ones!) for weeks, but have only just signed up myself!
I'm 11 weeks today and am pretty exhausted most of the time. I've just been away with hubby and didn't do anywhere near as much as we usually would do on a city break as I was so tired. I had a nap after a walking tour! Hubby was very patient.
I've had a day or two where I've not really had many symptoms at all recently, which has freaked me out a bit. I'm on progesterone and aspirin after previous miscarriages and at times wonder if the symptoms I'm having are due to that and not baby! Especially after a MMC it's easy to worry. I've had 2 viability scans at 6+3 and 8+3 and have been discharged into the care of the GP and midwife. My 12 week scan is at 12+4 which seems so far away, despite being next Thurs. It's nerve wracking! I wish it was easier to check on things!

Bumpingalong84 · 03/11/2019 20:20

@mrsf1204 your story made me chuckle, that would have annoyed me! Poor kid will know not to mess with a hungry pregnant woman 🙈

@Helensss sorry you’ve been stressed with spotting, so I had some pink discharge last night which totally freaked me out, I even sent a picture to my best friend, dh and I had dtd the night before so my thinking is it was just some irritation as luckily it was just the once. Hope yours is similar and stopped now.

I’m feeling totally rubbish this weekend, full of cold and feeling mehh. Back at work tomorrow after a week off. Feel like I’ve grown loads in that week! One more week of hiding it then scan next week.

Sunshine8888 · 03/11/2019 21:38

@123Pandy, I was mostly fine until 10 weeks and then it all got a lot worse. Now 14+1 and it’s manageable but waiting impatiently to feel more human again!

Kleor · 03/11/2019 23:02

@123Pandy I'm going to the royal free and experience has been fine so far (though not much to compare it to.) Have had booking appointment and 12 week scan so far. Dates for future appointments and scans came through really early. (Ie had the date for the 20 week scan before I'd even had the 12 week one!)

Clairesoph · 04/11/2019 07:02

@Sunshine8888 I used bio oil in my first and it kept them at bay for a while, handy to keep the skin moisturised and stops them from being itchy. Sadly stretch marks run in the family, the elasticity of your skin is hereditary so if your mum has them you are likely to get them too and no amount of product will stop them 😭 just good to take care of them!

facevalue · 04/11/2019 07:54

@Clairesoph that's so true. the genes eh! my mum has no stretch marks and neither did i! but moisturising is good for the skin regardless x

@Bumpingalong84 i hope u feel better this week x have you had your flu jab?

@slowrunningteacher welcome to the thread. i'm sorry to hear about your past MMC and hope all is well this time x when is your scan? feeling rubbish means you are hopefully very pregnant still xxx fingers crossed

@123Pandy yep i'm still getting nauseous andoccasionally taking anti sickness and i'm 12+ 1 today so i'm hoping it will get better soon x

@FreeDougJudy welcome. how exciting x i don't feel there's much to do until march or april x what r u planning ?

@mintbear i'm convinced i felt my DD VERY EARLY. and i'm sure i've been feeling this baby too and i'm 12 weeks. it's a different flutter sensation than wind! but i know they say can't be feeling much until much later 🙄

@Helensss hi babe. i just noticed you said u had spotting. has it happened again? how are you today? how many weeks are you now? u had your scan already? did u call the midwife just for a chat yet x i hope it's nothing x

@Raindancer411 i'm definitely with u suffering with the reflux/ acid.. had taken an antiacid almost everyday for last 4 days 🙄 and i hear drinking almond milk is soothing x i hope it goes soon but i had reflux in my last pregnancy the whole time until birth 😭

woollycat · 04/11/2019 08:04

@Kleor @123Pandy My decision to go with Queen Charlotte's instead of the Royal Free was just because the CQC rating for the maternity services of the former is Outstanding and for the latter it is Good. Here are the links:
Queen Charlotte’s: www.cqc.org.uk/location/RYJ04
Royal Free: www.cqc.org.uk/location/RAL01
A "Good" rating is still very good in my opinion, I just figured since both are relatively close, why not try the Outstanding one. This is my first pregnancy so I am going overboard with everything 😊 Otherwise my experience with the Royal Free has been very good whenever I've been there for bloods for example.

Helensss · 04/11/2019 08:11

@facevalue it stopped really quickly and nothing since,
I’m going to phone up though and see what they say. I had my scan at 11+3 and am now 13 weeks today, hope they can reassure me! How are you? Xx

Allyism · 04/11/2019 08:14

13+1 now and the nausea has subsided - only very occasional heaving, usually in embarrassing public places like the dessert aisle of the supermarket 😂

Just starting to get some energy back and want to workout a little bit, anyone got any recommendations for YouTube videos on workouts safe for pregnancy?
