Hellooooo there

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MrsMcJnr · 21/08/2007 10:36

Hey ladies not having a great one today, have a splitting headache which appeared at 2am and I have been sick a few times just over tired I think.

I was at an AN physio class last night held by my hospital. There were 23 couples there and it was interesting to see everyone?s shape as we were all due within a week of each other. My bump seemed in line with the others it?s funny to think I might see some of them again when I have the baby! It was a really useful class and I am now trying hard with my posture

Awen ? there was a brief chat from a MW last night and food was discussed. She put my mind at rest about the peanuts saying that as long as there are no known allergies in the family and you are not having excessive amounts, all nuts are ok.

Naetha you are bonkers sorry you feel so rough hon, good thing that you are off.

MotherofZ interesting about that coleslaw

Mixedmama ? hello Hello Gingeme

Fluffymummy ? Re Next, I refuse to get their catalogue on principal because you have to pay for it!

I do hear you Cazzy and Fluffy, there is a balance to be had but I have also witnessed my mother with listeria from unpasturised cheese when she was pregnant with my sister, it was very, very scary and I for one am steering clear! (deep fried brie ? god I love that!!)

Sideways ? poor you! How horrible! I hope you start to keep much better now

Toomanyshoes ? that annoyed me about the booze too ? I hate the Nanny State attitude

Lilyloo ? hope your scan goes well

beller · 21/08/2007 10:36

Morning all!

Naetha - Glad the party went well! Hope your feeling better soon x

Toomanyshoes - Congrats on your boy! We are the same dates now! Well at least until i go next week and they change them?!

Mixedmamma- Hope all is ok? all stopped now?

Fluffymummy - are you uncomfortable? Bet you cant wait until you tell them and dont have to think about what to wear so much...good luck with the the promotion!

Sideways - Hope you feel better soon, thats no fun at all, thinking of you.

Mrsmcjnr - V festival was good thansk a bit muddy yesturday, but had a good time...had to sit down every now and then though as I had back ache. Saw Pink, Snow patrol, the fray, manic street preachers, Killers, and Foo fighters. We had VIP tickets for the barcardi tent and KAte Moss and Sarah HArding were there. Kate moss was definately doing something dodgy in the loo's..so not sure she was clean! They then tried to shut the VIP area..but allowed me in as i had a tag and was pregnant!

I had yesturday off trying to sort my car out. My beloved beetle is now in autotrader, have had a call already, although she lives in Cheltenham and wants me to meet her half way?! Eh....maybe at the weekend if i still have the car..but not in traffic after work and mid week!
NOw have to decide what to get..have looked at Toyota Rav4 and Peugot 307....stilll thinking of a Golf too... Still havnt heard from XP after asking him to call me back 2 weeks ago.....going to write him off now! He has had his chance..........

Hope everyone is well...xxxxx

MrsMcJnr · 21/08/2007 10:42

Sounds like fun Beller I don't know much about cars but I am on my third 307 and I love mine

Cazzybaby · 21/08/2007 10:49

Hi girls

I'm looking for reassurance, got out of the shower earlier and saw lots of flashing lights in my eyes.....

Really wierd is it normal? Wondering if its a sign of being a bit week as have been more wobbly than normal this past week.

Can someone tell me I'm not going crazy and seeing things! xx

gingeme · 21/08/2007 11:04

Cazzybaby Ive had this before now with this and last pregnancy. Just sit down for a bit and rest. The flashes should pass.Could be just that you moved too fast. It happens to me if I get up too quick from sitting. Do you get migranes? If it seems like a migrane starting take two paracetamol and go straight to bed. If the flashes continue and you dont get a headache go to your mw and she wil put you on a monitor for about 45 mins to check baby and she will also check your blood pressure.
Hope that helps.

MrsMcJnr · 21/08/2007 11:07

Blood pressure hon you need to move slower, no sudden movements!

Cazzybaby · 21/08/2007 11:07

Thanks Gingeme, I did get a few migranes very early on but cant feel one at the moment. Just feeling very woozy have had a sweet cup of tea and a cookie to see if that picks me up!

gingeme · 21/08/2007 11:11

Definately cup of tea and cooky recomended here

LouiseSJ · 21/08/2007 11:21

Hi everyone. I am finding it so difficult to keep up with the messages. There are so many. I have just quickly skimmed through.

Anyway, it seems we're all now having our 20 week scans. I had mine yesterday. It was great. The baby was very active and there are no abnormalities. The baby did stay still long enough to get some great photos. We were very lucky as we got 12 photos! Our sonographer was very friendly and said that she is more generous than most. Sorry some of you only got a couple. We said we didn't want to know the sex but the sonographer didn't know anyway as baby had its legs crossed.

It is such a relief that everything is fine and now I can start to think about buying stuff. I remember a while ago there were discussions on here about the best prams/travel systems. There is a Mamas & papas travel system at Argos for £179.99. Does anyone know if this is a good buy? So many things to buy and careful choices to be made about safety. I don't know where to start.

Somebody mentioned constipation. I find shredded wheat is the best way to solve this problem.

mixedmama · 21/08/2007 11:24

Morning everyone,

Sideways - so sorry to hear about your sicckness. I am sstill suffering with sickness but mine pales in comparrison. Glad you are feeling better.

Naetha - sorry to hear you are ill. Think there is a bit of it going round. DS has an incredible cold altho seems in good spirits and the last two days I have started sneezing.

Lilyloo - goodo luck with the scan.

Beller - I'm fine now thanks, just one of those weekends where everything happens at once. I heard on the radio that Kate Moss chucked Sarah Harding out of the VIP.....As for XP he sounds like a waste of space and you are best off out of there. Why can men be such arses sometimes?

Cazzy - As the others sadi could be migraine. I had this with my first pregnancy, where i actually had to spend the night in hospital and have all manner of scans and even attended a stroke clinic with CT / Ultrasounds and MRI scans as I lost the ability to speak and everything. I actually carry a note in my bag now so that if it happens again i can explain to someone what is happening and they can contact DH. The funny thing was i didnt have a headache for the first few hours, just keep an eye on it. I would be inclined to take some paracetemol and sleep anyway as i always find that the best way to deal with migraine and those cool patches on your forehead - I have been known to wear them at work before now

Mornign to everyone else and hope you are all well.

mixedmama · 21/08/2007 11:26

LouiseSJ - congrats on the scan sorry just got to put my envious face there everytime.

OP posts:
Cazzybaby · 21/08/2007 11:31

Mixedmama I am going to join you with the envious face still got 4 weeks to go till scan!!!

gingeme · 21/08/2007 11:34

mixedmamma I used to get migranes like that when I was a teen. Scary arent they? I had tests for stroke once too. Think I was about 14. Touch wood (pats pc desk) I havnt had a migrane for quite a few years now.
Hope everyone is ok xxx

mixedmama · 21/08/2007 11:37

They are horrible arent they. I still suffer with them but that was the worse. My mum and brother both suffer as well. I think it was a combination of pregnancy, mornign sickness which was bad and impending migraine.

This thread has me in stitches.

gingeme · 21/08/2007 11:59

Yeah my Mum and sister both suffer. Another old wives tale told to me if you suffer with migranes in pregnancy your having a girl

mixedmama · 21/08/2007 12:14

Well I had a DS so that is clearly rubbish

OP posts:
fluffymummy · 21/08/2007 12:17

morning all
sorry to hear about the headaches, sickness and colds...hope you're all feeling better soon!
I think my morning sickness is finally beginning to pass...hurrah!...although it means I'll have to start pulling my weight with ds1 in the mornings again - dh has been doing pretty much everything for the past few months
Had a checkup with my gp this morning and got a mini b*llocking for putting on too much weight - I'm a bit shocked cos I thought I was doing ok this time (about 8lbs so far, and am 17 weeks) but she said it was still a bit on the high side How's everyone else doing?
Still not got a date from the hospital for my 20 week scan...maybe I should give them a call to chase...
Thanks for all the feedback about where to get clothes from...its going to be such a relief to be 'out' at work (just a few more weeks to go)...in the meantime, I'm off to Next and DP to see if I can find any clever cover ups!

beller · 21/08/2007 12:24

cazzybaby- i keep getting dizzy spells..is it a bit like that too? Like Mrsmcjnr says..slower movements maybe?

Louisesj - Congrats on your scan, a week to go until mine..but baby is very active now so thats cool (apart from when dancing on my bladder for 1 1/2 hours while trying to get out of car park sunday!)

mixedmamma- well Kate Moss left before Sarah Harding..so not sure about that

Mrsmcjnr - I really like them!

I suffer with Migraines to...juts praying not to get one during the pregnancy..the headaches I had to start with were bad enough!

mixedmama · 21/08/2007 12:30

Fluffymummy - I think I have put on about that. I lost about 7 lbs to start with tho through being sick and not wanting to eat, and have since got back to my starting weight. That sounds about average to me. Even if it isnt it is probably 1 or 2 pounds which is nothing in the great scheme of things.

I am trying to eat better but if I need something I have to have it. It is something I intend to rectify after the birth.

OP posts:
fluffymummy · 21/08/2007 12:34

I think the problem was that I only managed to get back to my pre-baby weight fairly recently, and that involved cutting out various food groups (and never eating breakfast!), which simply isn't an option when you're pregnant. So about 4lbs went on almost immediately, just as a result of normal eating, despite being really sick for the first 10 weeks and being quite off my food. Hopefully the weight gain will now slow down, although I'm hungry so much of the time! Last time I put on 4 stone and it took over 18 months to lose it, so I'm determined not to end up in that position again....

Naetha · 21/08/2007 13:02

Guys, I'm starting to get a bit worried...

...last night (after all the envy of other people still having a sex life!) me and DH played a bit of "how's your father". Look away now if anything vaguely TMI scares you...I had an amazing orgasm, really really intense, but right as I was coming I got a really severe cramp in my abdomen and lower back. It wasn't the mild cramps you get (like period cramps) but the sort of cramp you get in your calf in the middle of the night - really hurt. Thankfully it stopped almost straight away, but my back has been aching ever since, and is really quite uncomfortable. Bean is still moving around in there, but I know that constant backache is a sign of premature labour and now I'm panicking.

I don't want to have to go to the hospital if I'm just being paranoid, but neither do I want to go into premature labour and not know it...

Oh bummer, I guess I need to ring the midwife... before I do though, has anyone else had this before? Please tell me its one of those daft pregnancy things that everyone gets

Cazzybaby · 21/08/2007 13:21

Hi Naethea I'm sorry I have no words of wisdom on this! But deffinatly phone midwife if you are worried, hope your ok xx

mixedmama · 21/08/2007 13:32

Naetha - I would give them a call, just to put your mind at rest.

OP posts:
beller · 21/08/2007 14:16

Naetha- have read that increased blood flow can lead to beter orgasms during this part of pregnancy!
As im minus a man and anything slightly sexual im sorry I cant help. I would just give the midwife a call to ease your worries, maybe you pulled a muscle in your back dusring activities?
