Morning all

Naetha glad house warming went well, and all those party snacks to finish off I am jealous (says she who just finished off two chocolate croissants for breakys)....

mixedmama · 20/08/2007 11:05

Morning

Gingme - I was sick again this morning and am now 21 wks this week... driving me nuts. None of this blooming for me either.

Barristermum - yep awful weather.

Hey to everyone else.

I had an ok weekend. TMI alert!!!

DH and I had sex on Friday night and I bled afterwards. Not heavy more like dark pink discharge, have hadd no more bleeding after I had a bath and baby has been very active, and cannot contact a midwife for love nor money. Just a bit worried as I have a friend who had placenta previa (sp) recently and I know it started this way.

Then Satuday night I feel over really hard in DS's room - again been feeling mega movements since, but just a stressing weekend.

mixedmamma I know how that feels the worrying after a fall as for bleeding after sex dont worry too much. I had bad thrush with my last pregnancy and the doc gave me a 14 day script of pessaries and I bled after using about 4 of them and went back to gp. He said I had inserted the stick too far and had scraped the entrance of my uterus a bit and scratched it. Carried on bleeding for a few more days but once I had finnished the script the thrush and bleeding went. So maybe your dh went a little too far so to speak and may have damaged the entrance a little. Does your gp have an emergancy surgery at the end of the day? Try to get an appt if the bleeding gets any worse. Hope all is ok
Im wearing my maternity dungarees today I got from Ebay. Not exactly flettering but very very comfy.

MotherofZ · 20/08/2007 11:39

MM- defo get in touch with doc if it gets worse. Hope you feel better

Cazzybaby · 20/08/2007 11:40

Hope your ok mixedmama xx

mixedmama · 20/08/2007 11:49

Thanks guys.

Seems all ok now - and spoke to them just now and they said it all sounds like nothing but can go in and get checked out if I like. Will see how it goes, as the bleeding hasnt returned and the baby has been doing somersaults all weekend and they dont seem concerned and said it was up to me whether i wanted to go in or not.

Gingme - you made me laugh like a witch at my desk with the Dh causing the bleeding. Quite possible.

You and me both Gingeme!

I'm very that you've still got a sex life! I just find that I'm so uncomfortable in my lower abdomen nearly all the time - I think its a combination of chronic constipation (apologies for TMI!), a sore bladder and essentially the fact that there's a big feck-off baby in there!

DH keeps on pressing the bump, or giving me big hugs that just makes the bump press into my bowels which is so uncomfortable! I'd be tempted to take something to move things along down there, but the last time I took some senokot, I got all the usual rumblings and wind, but followed by acute discomfort and STILL nothing coming out!

Apologies for my (slightly off topic) rant, I just can't moan to anyone else about being constipated!

Anyway, back on track - hopefully the bleeding will have just been a bit of a scratch and nothing serious. Just keep an eye on it

MrsMcJnr · 20/08/2007 12:20

Hey ladies how are we all?

Beller ? how was the festival? any naked men in nappies in the office today?

MotherofZ ? shame about the food at the wedding reception!

Lilyloo ? I wish I could feel more movements rather than sensations. So pleased I have MW on Weds to hear the HB again I have an H&M mama pair of trousers that I borrowed from my sis, very comfy

Welcome and congratulations Hannahmary

Hello Mixedmama sorry to hear you are still sick sorry about the stressful weekend too ? the blood was mostly likely to be from your cervix, can get very sensitive apparently. Hope you get some peace of mind soon.

MamaMaiasaura · 20/08/2007 12:27

mixedmama · 20/08/2007 12:45

Just snuck a quick look myself. Your son is so cute - I love the gap tooth one.

OP posts:
MamaMaiasaura · 20/08/2007 12:46

I love that one too. That is a typical ds smile. He has been gappy for aaaagggggees. Wonder if they will ever grow back! Looks cute now tho

MotherofZ · 20/08/2007 13:27

Cute pics Awen.

By the way - how comes you got loads of scan pictures? We had to pay £4 for one picture and that's all they would give us.

mixedmama · 20/08/2007 13:32

That is so true - ours were £4 (only £2 when DS was born at a different hospital). But I did only ask for one... wish I bought more now.

OP posts:
MamaMaiasaura · 20/08/2007 14:00

ours was £3 and i just asked for lots .. although the sonographer annoyed me.

barristermum · 20/08/2007 14:45

Hey girls, I am dead chuffed - bid for some dead chic maternity clothes on ebay - all isabella oliver, formes and cache-cache - won the auction but didn't reach the reserve price and the seller is letting me have them anyway! Bump is getting too big to be ignored any longer!

horsy - don't know how far along you are but foetal alcohol syndrome seems only to occur after regular prolonged binge drinking so try not to worry, which I know is easier said than done!

fluffymummy · 20/08/2007 14:53

Hi guys...I love the new title but am very jealous of those who are already past the half way mark: I'm sitting at 17 weeks and feeling fat and frumpy, but maternity clothes still look silly! Although I DID find some brilliant maternity jeans in Next that nearly look normal. I've still not told work that I'm pregnant, which is making getting dressed in the morning increasingly challenging - I really don't want them to find out for another few weeks as I'm holding out for a promotion (and although it shouldn't make a difference, I'd prefer not to risk it!). So squeezing into old size 12 bottoms and trying to find tops that de-emphasise what is clearly a bump! I haven't had a full nights sleep forever...wish my bladder would get the hang of this pregnancy thing - I'm sure it wasn't this bad last time around! We've also got builders in, doing a loft extension, altho I've got no idea how its going as the only way to check is via a ladder outside the house all the way up...and my sense of balance is so appalling at the moment there's no way I'm risking it! Hope everyone's feeling good, despite the weather, FM xx PS Have totally given up on nookie for the time being, sadly, just far far far too tired, all the time...except when I'm still feeling sick...

Naetha · 20/08/2007 14:55

Anyone got any pregnancy-safe solutions for a cold and sore throat? Paracetamol and Hall's Soothers just ain't cutting it.

MotherofZ · 20/08/2007 15:02

Bump feeling really uncomfortable this afternoon - can feel stretching pains on the lefthand side. Probably doesn't help that I had a massive baked potatoe for lunch.

MotherofZ · 20/08/2007 15:04

Spoke to the Pharamcists at Asda a month ago as I had a sore throat and he said Strepsils are ok to take. Try the good old honey and lemon homemade mixture aswell, mixed with a little hot water.

Naetha · 20/08/2007 15:11

Apologies for a flurry of posts - I can't seem to follow a train of thought through any more!

Trousers wise, I've just had to go for maternity trousers straight off - M&S do quite a nice comfy and semi-smart pair of dark jeans which I wear to work all the time, and tops wise I've been getting long (but not smock) tops from places like Tesco and Sainsburys. They're not the sort of thing I'd wear normally, but they're a bit more fitted and in my opinion a bit more flattering than smock tops (which I'm convinced are designed to make the wearer look pregnant) but best of all cover the bump!

I wore a gorgeous one to the housewarming and thought I was being the height of sophistication and chic when one of the (male) guests politely (in fact rather embarrassedly) pointed out that my boobs were rather obvious and he was finding it slightly disturbing!! I'm not sure if this was a good or a bad thing, but DH was very affectionate all night!

Naetha · 20/08/2007 15:12

Cheers motherofZ - I'll get some strepsils after work today!

As for the stretching after eating thing - my bump always seems to grow an inch or so (permanently!) after I have a take away curry!

mixedmama · 20/08/2007 15:16

I still cannot abide curry and normally we eat loads. The very thought makes me feel green.

PMSL about your top situation naetha.

OP posts:
MamaMaiasaura · 20/08/2007 15:18

stupid question probably but are we allowed/should we have honey? Thought was not recommended.

Dorothy Perkins do nice jeans (not the elasticated ones the adjustable. THe elasticated ones fall down need a bigger bottom or some hips.
