JUst popping on before workman arrives to help clear shed out of garden

Fab fab fab pics of the scan MrsMcJnr.. dp had a peek too and he thinks they are lovely Nice to have him home for a couple of days.

Been to obsterician (sp?) today. Lovely lovely man. Said that is good I want VBAC but need to have 2 more scans at 30 & 34 weeks to check beanies position and soze. He thinks I may end up with a big baby. Ds was 8lb 12 at 38 weeks and was back to back, and if term he would have been about 10lb12. So if i have a humongous baby in bad position or my labour doesnt progress i will be in for a section again.

The consultant also mentioned the comments on last scan about BMI and apologised lots! He said that the sonographer shouldnt have put that down and that it was clearly wrong and that i am, in his opinion quite skinny he said it is normal to gain weight in preg, I look healthy. If i wasnt gaining enough he would be more concerned. He also said my BMI was very healthy Feel loads better.

DP got to hear beanies heartbeat for first time properly! Right will be back later xxx

MrsMcJnr · 04/09/2007 14:12

All caught up now?

Lilyloo ? no spots! but I guess its swings and roundabouts as you?ve got the heartburn and I haven?t ? poor you Hey ? don?t diss my profession! (just joking ?most lawyers are more of a hindrance than a help ? not me though Hopefully you should get quite a generous deal at the Council most of my friends up here who work for them do, the best deal seems to be the legal office at the NHS though ? fantastic parent perks! Liking the sound of your mat leave Sounds like you have a good set up with Nursery & Nana Thanks for your post this morning.

Hope you are enjoying your hols (and having your folks back) Mixedmama all the best for Friday?s scan

Hey Barristermum ? how is the trial going? Or has it finished now? Happy anniversary! ?course you are a regular (oh dear, I have given myself a reputation as the Dragon Lady ) and we all really value you and your contribution! Don?t worry! Not long until your scan

Gingeme ? I am so of the meet up ? I so wish I could be there too LOL about the boobs, same here but then again I?ve never had such a big belly either! naughty cousin sorry about your back hon.

Hey Beller I can?t say that all that time TTC made me save any money but we have been cracking into our debt to try and make life easier. We also have a viewer for the house tonight and one tomorrow so hopefully that will be lucky happening number 3 for us Can?t say I am surprised that XP didn?t turn up but I am sad that he didn?t for your sake. It must be hard to wash your hands particularly if you had high hopes for the relationship at one stage but I think you are doing the right thing, it would be awful if he continually let Babybel down the way he does you ? sending you huge hugs you are a lovely lady and your baby will be so lucky to have you as a Mummy, you clearly have so much love and affection to give xx I used to do a lot of child contact and custody cases as well as matrimonial work and time after time I saw one parent falling short for the kid and the other trying not to let their anger show but inwardly devastated that Daddy/Mummy had let the kid down again, it was heart breaking. That?s great about the child minding, that would be a load off your mind

MotherofZ ? hello DD?s nursery sounds like fun

Naetha ? thanks for posting for me this morning. Sorry to hear about your boss, mine is a selfish pig too thank god those above him are more caring have fun on your Jersey hols

Hey Bettymamma it?s lovely working from home isn?t it your poor DD my sister was like that too great that your Mum can help so much mine works ½ days and I am hoping that once we get to Spain, she?ll help me out I know she?ll want to she never could spend time with us and really relishes time with my sister?s boys Re working tax credit ? I just wondered if you can claim it on mat leave when although not working, you are still in the work force and I?d qualify then under the combined salaries thing? Guess it?s worth looking into ? doesn?t it make something like £250 difference? My Beanie looks more like a baby now doesn?t it?

Hello toomanyshoes all the best for this afternoon, hope Beanie is perfect looking forward to comparing notes annoying about your MW did she not even do screening tests for you? (sorry can?t remember if we?ve talked about that or not)

Glad you all like my pics, I love the thumb sucking one!

MrsMcJnr · 04/09/2007 14:17

Beller - surely XP would have to actually apply for parental rights first before he could have any say it those things even if he is on the birth certificate? maybe that is just here is Scotland (and I could be out of date) but I thought you needed on the birth certificate to get child support but that didn't automatically give him rights. Could be totally wrong though

Awen thanks hon. That all sounded positive at your appointment, I am so glad - fingers crossed that those later scans give you the green light

LilyLoo · 04/09/2007 14:27

Sorry Beller have no advice there but would be worth looking into.
Of course i didn't mean you mrsmc dp obviously needs to widen his use of solicitors

spud01 · 04/09/2007 14:31

hi everyone, hope everyone is still well.

Beller - I was told when I registered my sons birth, that if I put my dp's name on the birth certificate it automatically gave him the same rights to baby as if we had been married, this included parental rights.

Anyway ive had a quick glance through and im glad there has been plenty of good news around i.e scans. Ive got my scan on the 11th september which im looking forward to, apart from the fact my dp doesnt seem to think he wont beable to get the time off work, too many have already biiked time off that week

MotherofZ · 04/09/2007 14:43

Mrs McJnr - If you look on the offical working tax credit website you can apply three months before your due date. The link below www.taxcredits.inlandrevenue.gov.uk/Qualify/WhatAreTaxCredits.aspx
will help you estimate how much working tax credit you will be entitled to for the rest of the financial year.

Not sure if this is true - but someone told me that if you qualify for tax credits you will also be entitled to £500 maternity grant - you need to call 08456088649 for further information.

beller · 04/09/2007 14:54

Mrsmcjnr - that made me cry (again) today...really not having a good day , but was a lovely post thanks xx

Spud - thats what the others were saying, that if i put him on there, then he has same rights..not that he will know if he cant be bothered to be in contact! At the moment i feel like going it alone totally, and sorting out money myself..as too much negetive energy has been spent on him in the first place!

Angechica · 04/09/2007 15:02

hey Mrs Mc - freaky, day behind you on due date and scan date

MotherofZ · 04/09/2007 15:08

talking about due dates - my due date from my first scan came out to 30th Dec and this hasbeem recorded as my official due date. But when I went for my scan - the sonographer said the readings came out to 28th Dec, but he wouldn't change the date recorded on my pregnancy notes, as hospital policy states there needs to be a five day difference for them to do so.
Bit weird huh??!!

MrsMcJnr · 04/09/2007 15:14

Thanks MotherofZ ? that was useful I?ve heard that about the EDD too, many of my measurements this morning were 21+5 instead of 21 but overall, consultant said my EDD should stay the same.

Oh Beller

Angechica ? all the best for tomorrow

beller · 04/09/2007 15:25

im ok Mrsmcjnr....anyone else feeling really teary this week? or is it just my situation do u think? Have been mostly ok, so was bound to hit at some point i guess!

xx

Bettymamma · 04/09/2007 15:33

A big hug to you Beller. I am more teary than normal but you have a lot more to be teary about i know. Don't worry, once the baby arrives it'll be hard work but it will all be worth it.

Angechica · 04/09/2007 15:43

I had a terrible nightmare last night... woke up thinking someone was in the room & about to slay me in my bed. Instead of comforting me though, DH has been taking the mick at the odd noises I made. The dog was sleeping at my feet, apparently I sent him flying and he trampled all over DH. Good!

toomanyshoes · 04/09/2007 16:18

back from my scan at the hospital from hell!! Scan all fine, baby looked huge and healthy but sonographer was vile. Didn't even reply when I said hello, ignored me totally. Treated the whole thing like an irritating interuption to her day. So pleased we had the private scan 3 weeks ago, would have been really upset if that was my only chance to see the baby. Its just such an understaffed and overworked hospital, and today just made me even more sure that I'm not going to give birth there! Going to go and stay at my mums at the end of pregnancy and turn up at her local hospital when contractions close together so they have to take me
MrsMcJnr - so pleased your scan went well, I know you were worried so must feel so relieved to know all is well
Angechica - I am having really odd dreams too. Last night I was running around this strange city in a bath towel and a market trader was chasing me as he said I'd nicked a flannel off his stall! In the end had to hide in a brothel til he'd gone and when I asked to use the loo there were swings over the loo seats so impossible to wee woke up feeling very confused!
Beller - i'm not surprised you're feeling teary - its a lot to deal with when you are pregnant but I would second what MrsMcJnr said. You sound lovely and will be a fab mum to babybel - irrelevant of ex. It also sounds like you have a supportive family which will make the world of difference.
Bettymama, been to dd's child group AND a tea break?? You are doing about as much work as me today Am also hoping for a lottery win (mostly so I can buy more shoes!!)

nicky6 · 04/09/2007 16:31

Hi all
Feel like i have been away for so long took me forever to catch up.

am only 19 weeks - it is is very frustrating cos most of you guys get to do everything before me and my 20 ish week scan is not until the 28th september we have decided not to find out the flavour - it is our first.

Actually we went away at the weekend it was our 1st wedding anniversary and dh was very sweet. Although i ended up being sick - actually the whole sicky thing seems to be returnng - usually when i have pretended for the day i am not pregnant worked through lunch had it at 3.30 and not eaten dinner til 9.30 - do you think my bean is trying to tell me something.

Well my beloved Betsy (my beetle car) is up for sale

I am self employed so from looking at the really easy to follow guidlelines and forms (NOT) i think i can get maternity allowance.

Childcare - really dont know what to do and am trying to be relaxed have told work I am taking a year off - yikes - and will then see. Also found out that a lady who does some cleaning for us once a week is half way through her chlldcare exams - she is older and lovely so i am hoping that may end up working out in some way.????

Am I right in thnking that a few people are meeting up in London? I couldn't find the origin of this particulr thread??

Beller - I agree you definitley dont need someone who continuously lets you down- and on the teary front - i had cry yesterday over nothing at all just a bit tired.

Jeans - really impressed with the bootcut 5 pocket from blooming marvellous about £30 - they dont even look like maternity jeans and just have the stretchy adjusters inside otherwise you would never know - I wore my new purchase at the weekend.

Hope everyone well

MrsMcJnr · 04/09/2007 16:46

Ohh ouch ? got chilly and I left it a while to get a jumper and now my nipples are agony plus I am feeling sick ? probably the result of this mornings nerves.

Beller ? you are in a much more emotional position than me but I have been teary over the PIL situation so think hormones to have a contributing factor!

Toomanyshoes ? so sorry that your experience wasn?t great but really glad that your baby is healthy and well that was some dream! sounds like some golden shower fantasy room as opposed to a loo!

Angechica think I misread your earlier post ? was your scan yesterday? God, I am so forgetful!

Hey Nicky6 there are lots of people due after you too hon, Mummyto2littleprincesses, Ayreshireloo, Fruitful and Spud01 to name a few weekend away sounded lovely hope you sell Betsy quickly those jeans sound good, I?ve borrowed a lot of my sister?s mat clothes but they just fall off (she is smaller than me but obviously wore them all to term ? twice!)

Naetha · 04/09/2007 17:05

Nicky6 - I've got those jeans as well, they're absolutely wonderful! They don't look like maternity jeans at all, and have quite a flattering cut

For some reason I have a really itchy belly button today - I guess its part of the whole stretching thing, but its REALLY itchy! It also seems to be a bit gunky inside, although that may be a combination of slapping some E45 cream on it and itching it - not good I know!

Thankfully I haven't been too teary recently, although I was terrible about 3 weeks ago - I couldn't stop crying at the daftest things!

Neuro · 04/09/2007 17:09

Beller
Re: Putting father on certificate. I'm not going to bother because I know I am a reasonable person and if the father does what he agrees he will then I wouldn't dream of preventing a relationship between the two. But I will be paying for the roof over our heads, making all the big decisions, why on earth should i seek someone else's permission to take the child out of the country?!
I think men who abandon women or don't do the write thing when they've got them pregnant don't necessarily deserve to be on the cerftificate, but it would make things easier via the CSA.
But my situation is different to yours...
Good luck!

Neuro · 04/09/2007 17:10

Um, think i may have contradicted myself .
Well my tummy has swollen to the point where i feel like i might burst, it's horrible!

LouiseSJ · 04/09/2007 17:59

nicky6 - I am self employed too. You can get maternity allowance for up to 39 weeks provided you have been paying your NI contributions. You need to pick up a form from your local Jobcentre Plus (or download one from the website). You need to send it off with a MAT1 B. You get this from a midwife or doctor. The midwife gave me this when I went for my 20 week scan. It is something like £112 per week and you can have it paid weekly or four weekly.

LilyLoo · 04/09/2007 19:34

glad the scan went well toomany although about the hospital but i guess at least you know before or you could have given birth there!

beller · 05/09/2007 08:33

Morngin all,

Toomanyshoes - Glad baby is well, but to the sonographer!! I have ben really lucky with sonographers..she even let my neice and nephew in with us!

Nicky6- Good luck witht eh car sale! x

Naetha - I have been fine up until this week..think its hormones and everything hitting at once...feel quiet grumpy as well whne im not crying! Must be a joy to work with! hahaha My belly has ben a tad itchy too.not too bad though, have been using that Bio oil? x

Neuro - Yes i suppose thats my dilemna....I spoke to someone about all this the other day, and she said that she wouldnt put him on, and if he wanted antyhign to do with the baby, then he would have to fight for it, and make an effort. I think i just worry what it looks like not having the fathers name on the certificate? Which is stupid as maybe putting it on there could cause me all manor of problems? Im lucky enough to be in quite a comfortable financial position, so dont have to rely on him for money. NOt that I dont think he shoudl pay something, I do, but is it worth chasing him through the courts, when he is self employed and can hide what he likes anyway?

Well i picked my car up last night!! Its fab...they have been great. They put 4 new tyres on, serviced it, mot'd it and a years tax! they have also put an ipod converter in, so i can play my ipod through the speakers! They have also gone all over the car and removed any scratches! Really pleased with it. Feel better today too..not going to let him get to me, and spoil my pregnancy! Thanks for being there everyone, really does help and very much appreciated xxx

LilyLoo · 05/09/2007 08:37

Well done Beller hope you have a better day today, you are right r/e him.

MotherofZ · 05/09/2007 08:37

Morning all,

Hope you all are well.

Am feeling a bit teary this morning. . I couldn't find my car keys this morning and was getting late for work, then found them in the bottom kitchen drawer where DD had been playing with them. Then got stuck in traffic and started speeding when the roads were a bit clear and just missed a car parked on the road, which shook me up a lot. Feel like the whole world is conspiring against me today (Sorry Beller - this is probably nothing in comparison to what you are going through - think I am being mega sensitive today). Just want to have a good cry!!! Usually am quite 'put together' so it feels wierd for me to be feeling like this.

Am feeling a lot of stretching pains lately too - feel like I am going to burst - especially after eating a meal. Last few days, been feeling hungry ALL the time (Greggs - here I come) - maybe it's all connected to a stomach growth spurt..?? Right off to make some more toast before my meeting this morning.....

MotherofZ · 05/09/2007 08:38
