MotherofZ · 30/08/2007 11:08

sideways · 30/08/2007 11:16

What's happening on 19th September? Details please. Have had a quick look through but can't see relevant post.

gingeme · 30/08/2007 11:30

Sideways thought a meet up might be nice at the Pizza Express ta Picadilly Circus. Ive been there a couple of times on other meet ups and its very nice in there with nice toilets.

mixedmama · 30/08/2007 11:35

Toilets are so important esp in our current condition.

Kensington Roof Top Gardens have amazing toilets - bit out of the budget tho. DH took me there once upon a time. Ah the good old days.

Mixedmama ? hope you didn?t die of boredom yesterday oh very of all your movements and DH feeling them too ? I can feel some things but not all the time.

Gingeme ? thanks for the car seat tip, the AN physio also warned us about the dangers of travel systems which use the car seat as the main carrier love the story about the lady thinking your ring sling was a bag

Hi LouiseSJ lovely that you can feel the movements on the outside now too.

Toomanyshoes ? I bet all the Cath Kidston stuff is gorgeous! We both have our scans next Tues (I?ll be 21 weeks) hoping for the best news for us both glad all is going well.

Awen ? sounds like you had a lovely day and I am glad you feel better

Hey Beller

MotherofZ ? kicking of the bump! Ouch!

Naetha - I get the springboard thing too beanie hasn?t had revenge yet ? soon! I?ve got one of those days where I?ve got stuff to do, but it?s really boring and the deadline is today ahhhh! That will teach me for not doing the work before

Katyt ? nice to hear from you Have a fabulous holiday

Hello Sideways how are you? sorry hon, you weren?t on the list to update either

I?ve noticed that there are 13 of us who post a lot, another 14 we hear from quite regularly and 33 we hardly or never hear from

DH got a new job yesterday so we celebrated with a trip to the cinema to see The Bourne Ultimatum, enjoyed it but enjoyed my enormous Haagen Daaz more, which I feel guilty for this morning as I have put on 2 pounds this week.

MotherofZ · 30/08/2007 11:50

MotherofZ · 30/08/2007 12:24

does anyone else keep checking the august thread to see who has had thier babies ontime and later??

mixedmama · 30/08/2007 12:34

I do look at the birth announcements, never post there tho really as it seems weird to congrat someone i have never spoken to.

Plus, sisnce I was preg with DS I am just obsessed with birth stories, watched all the programmes everything even after I had him - I just dont have the channel anymore otherwise I would still be doing it.

trying to figure out if second time mums tend to have babies quicker and on time!!

mixedmama · 30/08/2007 12:43

I have read a few threads about this.... seems the consensus is yes altho not always of course.

My friend had her third recently and actually pushed the baby out in the car and turned up at the hosspital with baby in arms still attached. Another friend who had her second had twinges all day and decdied to go to the hospital - a full 17 mins later baby arrived. Hope I am in this batch altho i hope to get to the hosp and actually get in the pool.

I "know" a lot of the ladies who have had babies on that thread I love the success stories! I have been posting on Mumsnet since we started TTC in June 2006 so I feel like I have been through quite a few pregnancies with the MN ladies

My Doula sais that "time in labour" all depends on when you start counting - good point I reckon!

gingeme · 30/08/2007 12:56

Funny you saying about a few ladys who havnt posted for a while. A lady from my October thread asked after a couple of ladies on this thread who havnt posted for a while. Yes I hope all is ok with them too.
mixedmamma I used to watch the baby programmes religiously. I used to shout at the ladies giving birth who shouted or screamed saying'it doesnt help, it just gives you a sore throat'. Same as when I watch Super Nanny or anything like that I sit there saying 'well your stupid then arent you?'. My dh thinks its hilarious. Im not a perfect Mum by a long shot but some things are just so obvious. Though saying that I used to watch The Baby Whisperer-Tracy Hogg and picked up lots and lots of useful tips which I use alot and have done wonders.
Right so whos coming to Pizza Express with the nice toilets then?

MrsMcJnr · 30/08/2007 13:02

Gingme - October was my original thread I haven't been back as it is too hard for me, especially as my original EDD draws nearer - how are they all? doing ok?

MotherofZ · 30/08/2007 13:14

gingme - wish i was - would love to meet you all and see what you look like!!!!!!
Has anyone built up a picture of what the rest of us looks like. For example I think gigeme has ginger hair, Mrs McJnr to wear tartan, mixedmama to be really tall and Awen to be short - no offence I hope!!!!!

fluffymummy · 30/08/2007 13:35

hi gingeme, can i come to pizza express please? is this an evening or a daytime meet? I can probably bunk off work for a couple of hours in the day, if its in the evening i just need to line up DH for some babysitting!! I've never been to a mumsnet gathering...and I'd love to meet up with some similar aged bumps
I'm at home today with the lurgy, tucked up in bed feeling lousy. Which wouldnt be too awful except we've got builders doing a loft extension (before bump #2 arrives) so there's lots of noise and no lights today...
Got my scan on Monday at about 19.5 weeks, really hope there's enough detail to get some good pics...not decided yet if I want to know what flavour it is...what is everyone else doing? Last time round I didn't want to know but this time I think i'm quite curious...

gingeme · 30/08/2007 13:51

Motherofz I have been on Mumsnet for about a year and have only just discovered how to upload pics. They are now on my profile
Any time for the meet up is good for me. Its whatever suits you lovely ladies.
Mrsmcjnr I thought you looked familiar. Sorry for your loss. Alot of the ladies don't post as often. A bit like this thread I guess. Its if you get the time.

LilyLoo · 30/08/2007 13:57

lol at motherofz , i wonder if your right!

Angechica · 30/08/2007 14:07

Hi all

Just taken a 2 hr lunch break & been broswing in John Lewis' lush baby department. They had a Bebe Confort travel system, the car seat (Creatis) is extra big so baby can lie pretty much flat (Jane also do a lie-flat carseat but although I love them, Jane are way out of my price range). After reading earlier about leaving babies in car seats I think this is my latest favourite!

... sorry to bore on about pushchairs yet again BTW!

I also bought some gorgeous purple and cream wool & am going to attempt to "create" something for the bean with it.

gingeme · 30/08/2007 14:11

Wish I was clever enough to knit stuff. Were off to Mothercare World in a while to look at double buggys. Seen a brand new one on Ebay (its a shop and we got a car seat from there) for just £89. Gonna look elsewhere just out of curiosity.
