Hellooooo there

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
BeckyAu · 28/08/2007 20:37

Evening ladies - thanks for your well wishes re my horrid cold. I spent the entire bank holiday feeling grotty but am definitely on the mend now.
We had our 20wk scan today which was just lovely. Beanie lay on his/her back to have all the measurements done, then pointed up at the sky (?) so we could see all the fingers and swallowed. How wierd is it that seeing the mouth move was so incredible? Then he/she'd had enough of being spyed on and turned over with it's back to us (could see all the ribs coming from the spine)and that was that! It was just wonderful to see it move - our hospital won't tell you the flavour but we don't mind as it's our first. I do find it odd though seeing the movement on screen when I still haven't felt anything. Never mind I will soon enough I'm sure and as long as Beanie's ok that's fine by me!

Gingeme - huge congrats on your little boy. He will, of course be utterly gorgeous

Beller - congrats on your new car. I had to sell my lovely beetle a few weeks ago and tho was sad, am actually enjoying the space in the new car so I'm sure you'll love yours soon too

Barristermum - I am soooo with you on maternity jeans. I bought my first pair last week and they are as comfy as jogging bottoms. I love them and too may well live in them for the rest of my days.

Anyway - love to all - sorry I'm no good at mentioning everyone but love to you all for sure! xxx

MamaMaiasaura · 28/08/2007 21:29

gingeme - congratulations on your scan. Another boy I thought my beanie was a girl and was getting into the idea of pink.. but he is blue. Never know tho, maybe the next one will be pink Is no5 out of the question for you?

Becky - fab news about your scan. It is so amazing to see such detail

MrsMcJnr - Absolutely love your posts. They are always so thoughtful. Absolutely love your name choices. Aaliyah and Xavier are both very beautiful. We are torn between Daniel and Elliot. Love Elliot but like that Daniel has many varients. Reed is an american first name and is one of our family surnames. Glad your beanie made his/her presence felt for you The kicks just get stronger!

Am tired today, went to reptile and bird centre with ds and off to Isle of Wight tomorrow morning. Had banging headache all day and finally resorted to paracetamol. Think might be sinus's but darn painful regardless.

Have obsterician on Tuesday so if continues will mention then.

DP off on Thursday morning till Sunday for a long weekend with his friends.. (gaming).

DS off to his dads on Friday lunch for a couple of days away. Then school on Monday. Dont know where these holidays have gone.

Plan o catch up on sleep at weekend and mumsnet of course

gingeme · 28/08/2007 22:20

MotherofZ · 29/08/2007 10:26

Morning all!
Hope you all are well.

Lilyloo- think you have a bargin there! The place you're going to sounds nice. at anyone planning a holiday.

Gingeme - how do you do it? Being pregnant and running around after 4? I feel knackered with one! Are you thinking of having more?

Bettymamma · 29/08/2007 10:26

Good morning ladies

Have been on hols in Devon for last couple of weeks so just catching up. Back at work - moan.

Anyway - had my scan yesterday afternoon and although I'm not telling anyone in real life I'm happy to announce exclusively here that I'm having another little girl. Am absolutely delighted cos my dd wants a sister and I can't wait to reuse all those cute dresses all over again. Girls are just fab.

Wish me luck not telling anyone

Hope everyone is well - missed you all! Will try to catch up.x

LilyLoo · 29/08/2007 10:32

fab news Betty, any names ?
Thanks motherofz , i have had to book a night in travel lodge as Kent is quite a way from us, but seems a cheaper alternative to Lapland!

Bettymamma · 29/08/2007 10:35

Your lapland in the UK thing looks brilliant Lilyloo. My dd would love that.

Names - hmmm - one of the following
Phoebe, Lola, Maggie, Isla, Daisy or Honour

LilyLoo · 29/08/2007 10:56

love Daisy , i tried with dp but he wouldn't have it. Also Lola and Maggie are lovely too

Chelseamum · 29/08/2007 10:58

Angechica · 29/08/2007 11:06

hello all

I'm back - from a couple of weeks at our Eastern European holiday home project. Was nice to chill out under the air con while DH and all the friends we had invited over to help laboured in the 40 degree heat.

I was strangely calm on the flights ... no tears, no panic attacks! The only thing Boots would sell me was Rescue Remedy but I really don't know if it helped or not. The Lumpy (as we are now calling it) jumped around a lot takeoff and landing, but I kept thinking I must remain calm for their sake.

Having a procrastination first day back day at work today. Just spent half an hour catching up with this thread instead of attending to the hundreds of emails I should be dealing with!

20 weeks now - scan next Weds.

A new thing is heartburn & acid stomach - I got it for the first time before our wedding in December last year and now it's coming back long with dodgy digestion, either too slow too quick and lots of pains in the bum literally

mixedmama · 29/08/2007 11:32

Morning ladies

Congrats on the scans....mine is next week AT LAST so no envious face today as I am finally catching up.

bbettymama- love your names.... we like Ayla for a girl which is essentially Isla. All oof them are very pretty tho.

MrssMcjnrr - i love your posts too so personal.

OP posts:
Bettymamma · 29/08/2007 11:33

Angechica - I get BAD heartburn with orange juice and onions so am avoiding them at all costs. Rennies are the way forward. Well done with the flights.

Lilyloo -you think your having a girl too? What's your names.

We need another roll call thing!

nicky6 · 29/08/2007 11:51

Oh my goodness how much do you lot chat!!!! And you changed threads how is a girl ever meant to keep up.

I tried to have a recap but there was simply too much. I am back in any event from holidays very brown and although egypt was very very hot indeed no stomach bug for me - although dh was poorly and did lots of trecking round pyramids and did a 4am hot air balloon ride over the valley of the kings.

Back to reality though as work is already an absolute nightmare.

Am getting a bit of a tummy but can still get into some of my jeans but have just taken plunge to order some maternity gear, my scan isnt til 28th september miles away.

i can now feel little bubble type movemnets so thats quite weird.

Have finally plucked up the courage to sell my beloved convertible beetle boo hoo going to advertise it this week.

glad to see veryone so well and that we have some newcomers too.

Angechica · 29/08/2007 12:15

NB

Was in Boots before hols picking up stuff for holiday and of course I had to go and moon over the baby clothes for a while. I noticed a really lovely range of clothing stocked in Boots called "Molly and Jack"

Not partic cheap but it was all half price in the sale (can't buy anthing yet as we are not going to find out the flavour) good if you already have kids.

NB this was a big city centre branch of Boots, not sure if available everywhere but apparently the catalogue will be on Boots website soon.

Have joined Boots parenting Club too and got sent discount vouchers already.

MrsMcJnr · 29/08/2007 12:20

Hey ladies

Hello Beckyau glad you are feeling better and that the scan went well, one more healthy bean for this thread

Awen thanks hon, that was a nice complement do like all your names, I guess you could use them all in some order? hope the headache is better and that you have a nice day.

Lilyloo thanks. That adventure sounds amazing! wish I was one of your kids!

Hello Gingeme & MotheofZ

Welcome back Bettymama hope it was a lovely break. Yippee on a great scan and a pink bean congratulations!! Lola and Honour are on my list too all your names are lovely ? our surname ends in ?e? so feel we can?t have a first name that ends in that sound! Agree roll call and flavour call needed!

Angechica sounds like an interesting holiday destination! you are the same stage as me, my scan is next Tues

Thanks Mixedmama

Nicky6 ? hope you had great hols

Motherofz I say nooooooooooooooooo to any more no no no no way.
Just been for my mw appt. All is well except for ketones in my urine. Which Ive never had before. My mw said this is why I have been feeling so extremely tired and been having headaches. She said I should eat little and often. She suggested cereal bars in between meals as they are quite sweet and low in fat. Gives me an excuse to eat more. Like I need one. Apart from that all is fine. Heard babys heartbeat and he gave a good kick while she was feeling my tummy.

at your holidays and breaks away. Were currently saving for a bigger car so a holiday is way down our list
Well I hope you are all well.

It was so clear, and could see the baby swallowing and rubbing its face. Saw all the 4 chambers of the heart and al fingers and toes etc...was totally amazing...really didnt think I would see that much, but as im nearly 23 weeks..maybe why? Plus babybel was playing ball.
