Hello ladies at work and feeling badly done to as the rest of the banking world are off today is anyone else working today?

Funny/scary thing happened to me on Friday night. I can?t get from the office to the train station without needing a wee now so had to pay 20p for the privilege at the station. The girl in front of me asked me how long I had to go when I said I had the same again and laughed she looked incredulous, she was 25 weeks and had a very small low bump (mine starts under my boobs! ) I felt like such a fatty! She just wanted to chat though to someone else who was pg I think! She was so excited, it was lovely

MrsBiscuit ? have a lovely time

Hello Mixedmama

Gingeme ? Maybe I?ll have a virtual piece of pizza with you on 19/9! tried to persuade DH to have a weekend in London and go to the Baby Show but we can?t afford it, he?s right by the time we?ve driven down or flown and stayed at my sister?s and been out for dinner and been to the show?. Guess it all adds up Hope you are feeling better.

Awen ? how did the camping go? Hope you kept away from the sheep yourself (read something about sheep but it?s gone out of my mind as I was unlikely to be in contact with any!) very about all the movements. I read that if DH held an empty kitchen roll to my belly he?d hear the heartbeat but he refused, said it was too Blue Peter!

Lilyloo ? how the BBQ went well in spite of the weather.

Barristermum ? glad you are having a lovely relaxing time

gingeme · 27/08/2007 11:33

Thankyou Mrsmcjnr Im feeling better today though a bit tired as ds4 was up in the early hours. Hes got a REALY runny nose and was totaly blocked up bless him.
I was talking to my sil about high and low bumps (she has 4 dc's) and how the old wives tales come into play as how you carry is what your having. I seem to very 'up front' with this baby as I was with ds2. Carried them all different and theyre all boys so dont believe everything your told.....

MrsMcJnr · 27/08/2007 11:40

all my aunts swore that my sister's babis were girls because she carried the same as my mother did with her 3 girls - wrong! both boys Glad you are feeling a bit better today, must be hard with little ones to care for.

MIL got me going at the weekend the whole of DH's family seem to think that I "stress" about everything which I think is a bit unfair. A friend asked me in front of MIL if I'd felt movment, I explained what I'd felt and said that I was impateint to feel kicks, MIL interupted that it would kick in it's own good time and that there was no point stressing especially as I wasn't in the 5th month - when I retorted that I was she looked sceptical!! I'm note stressed, just excited to feel things!

gingeme · 27/08/2007 11:53

Isnt that what mother in laws are for? I just hope my daughter in laws arent going to be posting things about me like this in a few years
Just breathe deeply and just remember whos carrying this baby. Luckily my mil is great this time round more than can be said for my last one.

MrsMcJnr · 27/08/2007 11:55

guess you are right!

gingeme · 27/08/2007 11:58

Take care honey x

MrsMcJnr · 27/08/2007 15:06

So quiet today! My boss has reluctantly agreed to me working from home two days a week first day is tomorrow - horrah!!!

barristermum · 27/08/2007 15:29

Poor Mrs McJnr having to be in work on the bank holiday. Mind, I have taken myself indoors as I have to prepare a trial and I am being sooooo lazy - if I just knuckled down I cd be back in the garden in half and hour!
Am starting to feel so pregnant - caught sight of a really pg lady in shop window yesterday and then had a bit of a jolt when i realised it was me! Now wearing maternity clothes and the jeans are so comfy i may never take them off- seriously, without long jumper on I look like a teletubby but they cosset bump and may live in them forever ad let myself go!
love to all - trial beckons

MamaMaiasaura · 27/08/2007 19:56

MotherofZ · 28/08/2007 09:38

Morning all
Hope you all had a fab B/H weekend. Went to West Mids Safari Park which was brilliant and DD was so fascinated with the lions and sea lion - but kept asking when we were going to see the rabbits!! lol

Was feeling board at work on Friday afternoon, so counted 125 until due date!

MotherofZ · 28/08/2007 09:39

125 days I meant.

Naetha · 28/08/2007 09:39

Hello folks! I hope you all had a great bank holiday weekend

The London meet-up sounds great, but unfortunately is a bit far from Leeds. I've been to a couple of these meet-ups before (although they've all bee geek-related previously) and although its a bit nerve-wracking at first, you just have to make yourself be a bit more extroverted than usual, and then its all fine

Had a lovely relaxing weekend - the guy from B&Q came and measured our kitchen up, and the quote came in at quite a lot less than I was expecting, so we've ordered that - my stepdad is coming to fit it in 8 weeks or so when it gets delivered so will all be in place before "little Johnny" as DH has come to call him arrives.

Names wise I think we've settled on Ben - its not either of our original first choices (mine is Alex, DH's is Tim) but its really grown on both of us, and I can't think of him being called anything else!

Definitely started to get more uncomfortable now though - he's discovered moving around to a much greater degree, so I get kicks in my stomach, bladder, bowels etc all within the space of about 5 minutes! Unfortunately, coupled with slow-moving digestion it can be really uncomfortable sometimes! Any pressure on my bowels is really quite sore - do you think taking loads of senokot/equivalent will help relieve it? I already eat bran flakes every day as well as lots of other fibre-rich foods.

Hopefully we can pick up our new car tomorrow - I'm really really excited, we just have to make sure we look after this one! Our current one is a bit more scratched than I'd like!

I really feel for you MrsMac with the whole MIL thing - my MIL is great, but my mum is a nightmare! Always criticising everything me and DH do, from the way we plan to bring our child up, to our choice of sofa! She's also invited herself up for 2 weeks when my stepdad comes to fit the kitchen - I know she'll just be a pain in the backside, get in the way and criticise everything! Having said that, I don't have much contact with my MIL as she lives in Jersey, but we're going there to visit for the first time in 7 years next week which will be a bit scary! We'll be staying in a hotel though, so at least we'll get a bit of space to ourselves, and hopefully it can just be a lovely holiday

Anyway, enough rambling for now - hope you're all feeling great and good luck with the forthcoming scan - mine seems like an age away (was 3 and a half weeks ago!).

LilyLoo · 28/08/2007 10:03

Well dp came up with a new name on Sat . Imogen, which i really like so we may be getting there, tbh i am sure i have said that to him before but he didn't like it at the time
Hope everyone else has good day today

MamaMaiasaura · 28/08/2007 10:04

Naetha Ben is a lovely name. My nephew is a Benjamin, we all call him Ben.

Think we are probably calling Beanie, Daniel. Other names are Matthew, Sebastian, Reed and Elliot. I wasnt goingto share names on here, but i wasnt going to say the sex either

BEller dont worry about the shape of your bump, i have uploaded mine and it isnt very small. An older lady in the park the other day couldnt believe i was due end of Dec and was convinced i was alot further on, or carrying twins! Ds was a big boy, wonder if this one will be. I did retain lots of water with ds too.

Re the MIL thing, havent actually seen mine for ages! She hasnt seen me since i have been pregnant. Just been really busy. DP has visited and been grilled on surname choice etc. On the phone she has told me she is doing some kniting for beanie tho!

Right off out today and for the next couple of days. Cant believe school hols nearly over Will miss ds lots.

mixedmama · 28/08/2007 12:19

mixedmama · 28/08/2007 12:29

Hey lilyloo - not bad. We have put it on the market and I have told him we will accept a good offer as we are mega desperate now, but we do have a buyer in the pipeline as you will remember from the other thread - a complicated one, but work is getting fixed so he still is buying in theory. Just want it all over so we can foccuss on other things.

OP posts:
beller · 28/08/2007 12:38

NAetha- I was told not to take senokot, but have taken andrews and that helped a bit? Ben would be my first choice for a boy, but cant have it with my surname!

Awen - I have been told i dont look 5 motnhs..i think i do though, but dont suppose i have anything to compare with?

Mixedmama - i cant make 19th spe..could make another day though..have midwife appt locally
xx

MotherofZ · 28/08/2007 12:58

oh no can't make 19th to far for me to travel on a work night

MrsMcJnr · 28/08/2007 13:08

Hello ladies

Hello Barristermum ? hope you got the trial prep done its fun catching sight of yourself in windows isn?t it? every time DH looks at me he bursts out laughing at my belly but I know he loves it I know what you mean, the return to fixed waistbands is not one I am looking forward to

Awen ? sounds like you had a creative day I think Beanie rewarded me on it?s 20 week mark with a few little kicks this morning cool bump you?ve made me feel better, mine is very like yours, starts high Like Daniel and Elliot ? can imagine a really cute little boy Reed is unusual, where did you get that? I feel like I have ground to a halt on the name front no matter what I read so the contenders are currently Aaliyah for a girl and Xavier for a boy ? there, just shared lucky you with the knitting, I love babies in knitted things ? so cute! I have bought needles, wool and a pattern but so far I have only casted on ? I haven?t knitted anything since I was 12 and then, it was a scarf so a wee cardie might be beyond me, we?ll see!

Hey Beller how exciting about the car, my DH still says that he would have preferred the Golf hope the scan goes well I do feel like it is a major moment of truth and I am a bit nervous (mine?s next Tues) I just want everything to be ok I did a naughty thing today I had to buy a birthday pressie for my nephew and I just couldn?t resist ordering this for Beanie at the same time www.boden.co.uk/col.asp?segname=Baby&styid=71001&segid=2&gpname=Jersey+Tops&desname=Teddy+Button+Thr ough&gpid=27&gen=3 ? I got money off, free P&P and it is the first thing I?ve bought ? is that bad?! I could have gone mad, LOVE Boden stuff!

MotherofZ PMSL at your DD wanting rabbits not lions you know, the fact that we are all so close to Christmas means that the time will go even faster because everywhere we go we?ll see Christmas countdowns! I know I have 16 weeks on Friday until Mat Leave

Naetha great news about the kitchen quote! Ben is lovely, I know a couple of sweet little men called Ben sorry to hear the kicks and movements can cause you pain, can?t help but hope someone else has some ideas. Exciting about the car too! Don?t envy you your Mum?s visit, sounds like it could be stressful. The Jersey trip will be lovely though

Hey Lilyloo ? that?s good about the BBQ I hope you are making the most of being child free and actually relaxing rather than running about! I like Imogen ? I knew a beautiful Imogen at school and I like the actress Imogen Stubbs

Mixedmama hello! 7/9 ? that?s not long hon ? only 10 sleeps All the best with a buyer! We have a viewing tonight, by the local church looking for a new manse!

MotherofZ · 28/08/2007 13:31

Mrs McJnr - nice of you to remember everyone as usual. Yes, DD was so adorable asking to see rabbits on a Safarai - that's what makes out little ones so cute and amazing.

Talking about names, Aaliyah was one of the names we selected for bean, but now have settled on Hannah - still undecided about a boys name. Was reading about the name 'Aaliyah' in one of the baby names books, means 'Exhalte, noble, highest social standing'...!

MotherofZ · 28/08/2007 13:31
