hi all,
sorry for having disappeared for so long. I haven't forgotten you all. In fact I confess I am regularly lurking but am too tired/worn out by my late pregnancy symptoms (i've seem to get them all)/convinced I haven't got much to add, to actually intervene and say anything meaningful - but I am keeping in touch.

And, today I can't help but say wow! congrats to dal and good luck to inzi...! And also lots of good luck to buffy, who seems to be going through a lot...

Who's next then? Hope not me as not due till Oct 23, plus it's my first, and I haven't even read the pages in the books about labour so haven't got a clue, have only taken one ante-natal class and feel totally unprepared, have hardly bought anything (although I am planning to get loads second hand from a friend nearby) + dh is away on business for a few days...!

lisad123 · 07/09/2007 23:15

well with these contractions and the baby being engaged already my mum thinks i will drop thi week so might be me next.

Poorinzi hope LO is ok, although gonna need a lot of care this early.

I'm Finally home:...can't believe what a long day it has been; I had the joy of driving DH and some of his buddies to Liverpool airport for a stag do in Cologne at 4.30 this morning!, came home, walked the dog, fought with the computer, taught, went to aquanatal, wonthe battle with the computer then met up with the partners of the stags for the evening and drove the drunk ones home and am now too tired to sleep!...Not good when I have to go to my first antenatal class early tomorrow morning!
After 2 days of rollercoastering LO has had 3 relatively quiet days and the bump is definately lower...or perhaps I'm so busy I'm not feeling the kicks so much but what I am feeling is very, very low. Dh spent most of his 8.30 very drunken phone call telling me that if I had any twinges I must phone him and he'd get the next flight back (yeh, like they'd let him on a plane in that condition!)...I suppose this sudden rash of hospitalisations has got us all a bit aware of how imminent things are...I did buy a couple of nursing bras and a couple of rather old fashioned button front cotton nighties at M&S yesterday...I really must just get the bag packed incase...

I've not heard more from Buffy...I will text again tomorrow to see how she is
I dearly hope all is ok with Inzi.

Well I had better try to get some sleep..hope no one else decides to fill a hospital bed over night.

FloriaTosca · 08/09/2007 00:48

Hi Gemma
Good to see you posting...don't worry about saying anything meaningful..I never do . Sorry you have all the downside symptoms..hope the up side ones are equally as strong.

WinnieThePooh · 08/09/2007 05:12

Morning sll.

I am first to post today again.

this LO seems to like waking about 4.40, this is the 2nd day on the trot. I hope this does not mean that she will be waking at his time when she is out.

My mobile has been quiet all night, so hopefully that means that all LO have stayed put so far.

I hope everyone has a good day.

j20baby · 08/09/2007 08:10

morning all.

UPDATE

i just text Inzi, she hasn't slept all night, still getting pains but they're not getting any worse and she's waiting to see the doctor.

i am waiting for 8.30 for the day unit to open so i can call them, i feel absolutley awful, real hot and achy and still getting jabbing pains, pretty sure its an infection.

will let you all know whats happening when i know anything

j20baby · 08/09/2007 09:04

i'm going to have a quick check at the hospital at 10.20, they don't seem worried, so i shouldn't be in long

have a nice day all

ChocolateHobnob · 08/09/2007 09:16

Thanks for the update J20 - really hope Inzi's okay. And you too! Good luck at the unit.
Jersey - good luck!

Floria, mine feels kind of low too - but I'm not 33 weeks yet, so I'm thinking it just likes being low. Gemma, I'm with you not ready to queue jump! It's my first and I've not bought half the essential items.

Honor, Winnie, everyone else, hello! Lovely Saturday here - sunny and warm. DH is painting lo's room this morning and we're going to see my grandmother this afternoon - she's just got a new wheelchair so she's quite excited.
I got my first bank card in my married name today (only 15 months after getting married) and it feels weird. I dont like being Mrs!! At work I'm Dr plus my maiden name and I think I'm going to end up with identity confusion. Never mind - I'll get used to it.

Hugs to everyone and thanks for the congratulations for DH!

Hi all,

J20- good luck at the hospital this morning, hopefully you and inzi won't be having your Lo's yet.

Hava a good day all.

MrsFish · 08/09/2007 09:47

Greedy - I'm with you, I thought I would be one of the first too I wonder who out of us two will get there first, both being due the same day that is. I am so ready to get this lo out of me, am just so tired now

Blimey it was all going on last night wasn't it! I missed it all as I went to bed at 7.30 last night, was just so exhausted and couldn't keep my eyes open. Must have woken up at least 6 times whilst in bed (toilet 3 times) and general waking up and weird dreams too, got up at 7am, and feel just as knackered as yesterday. I'm hoping ds gives me some slack today, I don't think I have the energy to battle with him today, but if I give in I have ruined the past few days... how frustrating Luckily dh is back tonight - late though so I may be in bed - but he WILL be getting up with ds tomorrow I deserve a day off!

J20 - hope you find out was is wrong with you today.

Weather here is chilly and cloudy today, my sil and neices are coming up soon so at least ds will have some playmates for a few hours.

MrsFish · 08/09/2007 09:49

Winnie - I bet you are knackered, I was up at 5.30 yesterday and did loads of stuff too, hence going to bed so early.

MrsFish · 08/09/2007 10:30

Sorry need to have a rant before I explode into a mess of hormonal tears....

Just had a text off our babysitter - wonderful girl, loves ds to bits, very helpful etc etc... to ask me if I could not give birth between 27th Sept and 7th October if she books a holiday!!! For over a year now she has offered to be my standby during the time when baby is due, as she can get to me quicker than anyone else I know, she also works for dh so would be able to get out during the day too, to look after ds. I now feel left up in the air, I am only worried because Sam came so quickly, so if the next one is the same or quicker I don't know anyone else who could get to me so quickly to look after him. Just one more thing to worry about... now I am not positive she will book it yet, only just had the initial text off her, but tbh I will be very miffed if she does. Am I being unreasonable/overreacting??

greedygreedyguzzler · 08/09/2007 10:50

nothing to do with babies, BUT.............................. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAArrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! why do all my patients have rancid garlic breath this morning!!!! i could really do without it!!! i bet my next one is stinky too!!! can you tell i am pissed off with being at work?!!!

mrs fish - you can go first out of us two if you want i still have far too much to do before my one pops!!!

buffythenappyslayer21 · 08/09/2007 11:02

morning all!

got dishcarged from hospital last night.wasnt too happy though as my consultant said i could go hoem at 4pm,had to wait until 10.30 for a registrar to come and discharge me!!

went in on thursday afternoon witha horrible pain at the right top side of my bump.it had been niggly for a couple of days but got to the pint i couldnt stand it any longer so i rang mw,who rang teh hospital and sent me in.

they scanned me yesterday afternoon (was on nil by mouth all day so was dehydrated and starving!!)they thought it was my gallbladder, but the csan showed it was fine.got a prob with my liver though, ive got fat growing on it,which was diagnosed in 2003 (got a stupid name...gilberts syndrome!)but its never really caused me a prob, and they dont think its taht thats caused the pain, but it has worsened since i was first diagnosed.

anyway, they want me to see a gastro doc to see about having a camera put down to find out teh cause of teh pain, but they are abit reluctant to do it whilst still pg,just incase its a preganncy related thing.so.....am booked for a cs on 4th oct,but if i go into labour before then, they will do cs staright away (and im getting sterilised)

was pooing myself when i was in the hosp as all tehy kept talking about was it was my gallbladder and that i would have to have cs and then they could operate sooner!so i was seriously panicking!!!

anyway, had a quick read through teh posts, and cant belive we have had a baby already!!!congrats to dal and her dh!!!

has anyone heard of inzi ahs popped yet?

hope everyone else is doing ok.

TheLadyEvenstar · 08/09/2007 11:04

Hi All

Hope everyone is ok and relaxing. Does it seem ages until our LO's are born or is it just me that is seeing the days drag by?

ok I am a naughty LES for not being in touch...Have had a mixed week of pains, tears and out n out confusion lol. We still haven't moved as DP works nights and when he gets in in the morning he goes to bed and sleeps which i know is needed but i want to be in my new home.....selfish of me i know. Have been packing everything up myself as with his work it is not possible for him to help, and ds won't do anything.....don't know where my sweet little boy has gone but i have been left with a monster.

Still not sure i have everything i need for baby and me for hospital although i have packed unpacked and repacked case about 30 times.

Also when i have been at new flat as we have stayed there a few times, I have made, remade, unmade lo's crib. The other night i was on my hands and knees sweeping the carpet in our bedroom with a dustpan and brush as there are hairs on it and I went balistic over them as landlady had told us the place had been thoroughly cleaned which it hasn't!!!!!well it has except our bedroom carpet. So at 11.45 i was on hands and knees when i finished bedroom carpet crawled to hall and wiped wood flooring all over, then decided to do whole flat sweeping, wiping, etc...wouldn't be so bad if it was dirty but it i wasn't i just needed to do it lol.

TheLadyEvenstar · 08/09/2007 11:06

ooppsss forgot to say

CONGRATULATIONS DAL AND DH!!!!!!!!!!!!

alicet · 08/09/2007 12:19

Buffy glad all is well although sorry they haven't found a cause for your pain.... Fingers crossed it doesn't get any worse...

MrsFish I'm not surprised you're p*ssed off with ds's babysitter! If this has all been arranged for ages I think its incredibly insensitive of her to think about booking a holiday exactly when your lo is due!!! Do you have anyone else you could ask instead or could your parents / pil's come and stay over that time? My mum is coming to stay from 38 weeks in case all kicks off early and before then I have various friends I can call. Hope you get it sorted anyway...

J20 I hope your appointment went OK honey - thinking of you and looking forward to next inzi update too!

Big hugs to everyone else...

lisad123 · 08/09/2007 12:56

afternoon all.
Been to aunts wedding this morning, and just at my mums till reception tonight. Im shattered already Our family are very odd, and a little rough around the edges so wedding receptions are always fun!! bound to be one drunk uncle trying to dance with the young girls, one drunk aunt crying in corner and one fight. LOL im in for a fun one.
I hope inzi and J20 are ok, just shows how unpredictable pregnancy is.. very scarcy time.
Right off to get some lunch will update later.

HonorMatopoeia · 08/09/2007 13:08

Hi ladies,
Buffy - glad you're back, hope pain isn't too bad now. The 4th October sounds awfully near doesn't it?
MrsFish - I'd be veyr peeved with the babysitter too. I just wish people wouldn't say things if they didn't really mean them.
J20 - Sorry to hear you had a disturbed night. Hope your appointment has gone well / set your mind at ease.
It's Dh's birthday today so we're off out till late now. Will be checking back as soon as i get in for news!
Take care everyone x

j20baby · 08/09/2007 14:35

hi everyone

inzi text earlier, her pains seem to have stopped and she is being monitored, they are keeping her in tonight for ab's and more steroids, her lo is very healthy, but she doesn't think lo is going to make an appearance yet, and she sends her love to you all.

i also was monitored, got protein in urine, and still not sure about the water infection, mw said to take co-codomol regularly, and get as much rest as possible, and to nap in the morning and afternoon but apart from the urine, everything else was fine.
well, apart from my iron still being 9.4! its just not rising, feel very tearful and have sent dd to my dsd's for a couple of hours as she is being horrible.

les-wonder if its the impending births that have turned them into monsters, mind you, mine was never angelic!

mrsfish-i'm not suprised your upset about the babysitter, how horrible for you, i would feel so let down and hurt, in fact-my friend is going away 24th Sep for 2 weeks and i was gutted.

greedy-so sorry, but your post made me giggle, its not very nice though is it, i can't deal with bad smells atm.

buffy-poor you!! what a nightmare, when are you due? don't really know what to say, but sending you hugs and hope you manage some respite from the pain-somehow. a large vodka??

lisa-have fun at the wedding, sit with your feet up and get dh to bring you lots of lovely buffet food, yummy

HM, Alice and Winnnie, hope you have lovely days

hope i didn't miss anyone out!

Hi All
Buffy;got your text as I drove home from birthing workshop (just got in)...very glad it isn't gall stones but sorry they haven't found the cause. Try to keep rested.
J20; glad you are ok too, sorry DD is playing up though

Well the birthing workshop was ok...but I've come home inordinately depressed..I didn't realise how much I wanted to try a water birth and now I know I won't be given the chance..apart from the fact that there is only one pool on the delivery unit allocated on a first come first served basis and there has to be an experienced waterbirthing midwife on duty when you use it, they won't even consider it if you are being induced, if you have needed growth scans, if you have gestational diabetes or are on boodthinners...so there's me discounted before I even start! After 3 hours of sitting in different hospital rooms being lectured to, my feet now look like balloons and I have a headache..so I think I'll put my head down for an hour or two and try to sleep off this bad mood.
