Heaven's I only popped out for a sarnie...

Congrats Dal and hubby. (was just going to post this as I have a text from them!!!)

Mumpbump · 07/09/2007 14:23

Congratulations Dal and dh!!

Am disappearing now as I feel too rough to stay in work any longer. I haven't been able to eat anything, have a migraine coming on and am starting to feel shivery. Feeling very sorry for myself, as you can no doubt tell!!

Apricott · 07/09/2007 14:40

Omigod - a baby!!! Congratulations Dal and DH!

Tried to catch up with you all - took me ages and now I can't remember any of the details - sorry to everyone who's feeling shite. I think I've had a sickness bug this week - been sick and it didn't feel like pregnancy sickness. Got a support belt, but so far I'm finding it very uncomfortable. And naughty LO has turned back to back on me - so I'm doing the hands and knees thing in an effort to get him/her to turn back. It's nice feeling little hands and knees at the mo though! A week today I have my 'where's the placenta' scan - I'm getting quite anxious about it, but I guess I'll just have to deal with it if it's still low. Heart is set on a home birth, despite shock reactions I get from almost everyone I tell. Ah well, we shall see.

Take care all xxx

Collywobbles · 07/09/2007 15:00

Congratulations Dal & DH!! What fantastic news

I'd finally got to grips with what was going on with people then I missed a couple of days and am now lost again!

Sorry to hear about everyone's insomnia - I can definitely empathise having spent the whole of last night awake due to our neighbours from hell throwing a party. Loud dance music was thumping through the walls when we went to bed at 11 - still at 4am when we gave up hope of sleep and still at 6.30 when we were finally driven from the house and into work to get away with it! Thank God for flexi time and being able to finish early and come home to relax! Although I'm still fed up because I've had to cancel a hair appt this afternoon and a meal out this evening that I was really looking forward to because I'm just way too tired!

Sorry - all me, me, me! Moan over now - it was good to get it out of my system!

Collywobbles · 07/09/2007 15:09

PS - Lisa and Alice - I read that thread about JW's - what horrid people! Well done for both keeping your calm. One of my best friends from school was JW and she was funny, intelligent and with great dress sense!! . I'm RC and would like to say the same about myself...minus the dress sense possibly, as I feel like I've been living in the same 3 or 4 outfits for the last 6 months! Why can't people live and let live?!

HonorMatopoeia · 07/09/2007 15:11

Congratulations Dal and DH - IS it just me who finds it quite scary that a real life baby from the September thread means we're nearing reality with our own iyswim?!

Sorry to hear about the insomniacs, I'm with you on this one and its a pita isn't it. Even more so as my toddler is sleeping really badly at the moment so any sleep time is precious to me.

I've started my maternity leave early as went into work on Monday and managed a whole hour before I collapsed and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital. Was quite freaked out as after they checked me out in A&E they ferried me off to the delivery suite . I just kept saying.. 'But I've still got 7 weeks, I'm not ready'! Thankfully it was just a precaution and they let me go home that evening.

Hope everyone else is having a less eventful time, will try to keep up to date with this thread now I have a bit more time!

lisad123 · 07/09/2007 16:12

Hi all (waves at everyone)

My mum and dad came round today and took me out shopping and for lunch, very nice Although didnt buy anything for me, it was nice to be out of the house for a few hours
I got asked to stay behide to talk to teacher today was a little worried. LOL Teacher just wanted to check about the whole JW thing and what she should do about christmas (bit early) and bday stuff. phew. She also told me Tanisha was a star and very ahead with her numbers proud mummy moment. She also said she was very confident which is very odd as her last nursery said she was shy! Im guessing smaller class and more rotuine works well for her.

Does anyone else's bump feel hard most of the time now? Im so uncomfertable.

Congrats to dal, was she due oct? I thought she was a sept one? Wow 1oz bigger than my DD. Kinda brings home how close we all are especially those due at begining of OCT

Lisa

HonorMatopoeia · 07/09/2007 16:32

Outside must be nice lisa - I haven't seen it for so long I'm beginning to feel housebound!
Dd sounds like she's settled well to school / nursery (sorry, I don't know which, have been away for a while!). As a, now ex, teacher I know the early years are really important and the fact she's good with her numbers is really encouraging. Good for her, you deserve to be very very proud!
Glad you said about the bump as mine has been like rock lately and I was starting to wonder if it was normal. I know this is my second and I should remember, but I just don't . LO is wriggling as much as she can though so I know all is ok.
Is anyone else on their 2nd pg after a c section with the 1st? Was just wondering if anyone in this situation has found some of the movements of their lo a bit painful around the scar area?

MrsFish · 07/09/2007 16:37

My bump seems to be constantly hard too, very uncomfortable, especially right at the top.

lisad123 · 07/09/2007 16:43

honor

Thanks for praise of DD, I think they might have been a little surprised as when we did visit they were talking about letters and numbers 1-10, and she knows most numbers upto 100, and defo all of her numbers 1-20 and all her letters. Was a little shocked when they suggested the children learn to write their name, hmm been doing that for a year

I had a section last time too and have to say the movements this LO makes hurt a lot more, my scar doesnt hard but does itch from time to time.

Mona isnt it strange we both live in herts, my hubby works in the same town you live in and your family are JWs and i am too, wooo weird...

WinnieThePooh · 07/09/2007 17:34

Hi all,

Looks like I might get my Amby nest after all. I had a phone call from my Avon Artea Manager today to tell me that I have won £100 in gift vouchers. DP has said if they are general vouchers I can use them for everyday stuff and take £100 from the banl account for the nest.

j20baby · 07/09/2007 17:47

I hope everything is ok.

Thanks for letting us know J2O

MrsFish · 07/09/2007 17:50

Good luck Inzi

I want mine now too :stampsfoot: I'm fed up of waiting

j20baby · 07/09/2007 17:55

i know-its so unfair, she's not due for a few weeks though(about the 29th Oct i think) so i hope she's ok.

btw i'm getting a lot of jabbing pains, i haven't got any AB's yet as they've sent my water off to be tested, so i don't know if its that or something wrong, am going to have a bath to see if it eases, if not i will ring mw, either way, i'll be back on in a bit to let you all know either way

Evening all ...

Congratulations Dal...

good luck inzi - was a bit to see your waters had broke...

Am now officially on maternity leave - hurray!

Am going to a wedding this weekend - am taking my labour bag (not that there's much in it!) and notes - just as insurance ...

Have a good one!

MrsFish · 07/09/2007 19:07

Sorry, am so tired this is copied from the Sept thread...

Hello All

Well ds is in bed and I think asleep, thank feck for that. He has totally exhausted me today and I have only had him the afternoon.

I didn't get to sleep last night till about 1am and I woke up at 3am for the loo and ds was awake at 5.30 [yawn] took him to his new kindergarten this morning, which he seemed to really enjoy and they said he was golden, as if he had been going for months I came home and hoovered all downstairs and mopped. Also cleaned the aga, washed ds's old buggy in readiness for this one and a few other bits and bobs.

Picked ds up, he fell asleep in the car but woke up when we got home and he had only had 5 mins, wouldn't then go to sleep again later. I have had another battle of wills over food with him today, and the constant whining and crying over everything. I am utterly exhausted, early night for me tonight. So glad dh is home tomorrow night.

Sorry its a me me me post

alicet · 07/09/2007 19:31

Firstly BIG congrats to Dal!!!! Fanastic news.

OMG about Inzi too!!! J20 if you text her will you please let her know I am thinking of her?. Hope all goes well.

J20 ? sorry to hear lo is breech. And that your nurse and GP have been being so crap with you. Hopefully you will get more joy when you see the mw or consultant

Winnie ? good luck at scan on Monday?

Jersey ? sorry to hear you?re knackered but at least they don?t sound too worried when they checked you over. Fingers crossed all stays well.

Chochobnob ? great service from M&S! Nice one! Glad to hear its comfy too!

Greedy ? hope your extension gets finished in time! Also can?t believe that the stupid builder didn?t realise babies move before now!

Kittiwake ? glad you?re still feeling well ? very jealous but pleased for you!

Mump ? sorry to hear you?re feeling so crap and that everything kicks off when your dh is away ? lo not moving AND ds playing up? NOT what you need at the mo!

Colly ? can?t believe your nighbours had such a noisy party and on a school night too! I would have gone ballistic!!!

HMP ? sorry to hear about your wobble on Monday but glad everything turned out OK and great news on early mat leave!
I am pg after section last time but haven?t noticed any pain in the scar area. But I think if I did I would probably go and get it checked ? sure all is OK but better safe than sorry?.

Lisa ? great news on Tanisha doing so well and what a great teacher wanting to understand more about your religion and how to involve her. Maybe she should go and talk with the rude MNer?s on that other thread about how to be more accepting of other people?s beliefs and cultures!!!!
And yes I find my bump is pretty hard most of the time. Not like with ds1 when it got hard when I got bh?s. Not worried though ? think its probably him getting squashed in there as I?m only 5ft so there isn?t much room for him!!!!

Ejt ?celebrating with you about being on Mat leave!!!

Well as far as things go for me?.. I?m on mat leave too and I am delighted!! Going for a posh lunch on Tues without toddlers with a friend whose ds is the same age as mine and also has a lo due in Oct! We both have childcare on a Tues so making the most of it!!!! My mum is up till Sunday too whilch is fab. She had ds today as he?s been a bit under the weather with a sick bug the last couple of days although pretty well in himself. But nursery won?t have him within 48 hours of being sick and I didn?t really think I could skive off on my last day! Anyway off to be sociable with her and dh now ? will check in later to see if there are anymore babies!

alicet · 07/09/2007 19:32

MrsFish - crossposted - sorry to hear you've had another tough day. You must be desperate for your dh to get back - great its tomorrow! Hopefully you ill get a well deserved lie in and pampering on Sunday!

nellieloula · 07/09/2007 19:34

congratulations DAL and DH - wonderful news and I'm hoping everything is going ok with Inzi.....
