Hi all

just another quick visit from me. I have given up all hope of ever knowing you all and your circumstances properly but glad to see names I know seem to be doing ok.

So my news was going to be that I have a date for a section and I was planning to jump ahead of you all and be first but I see Dal has beat me to it! Hope it goes well Dal, that is very soon!!

I have a date of 24th September. Apparently baby is quite large and I was given an estimate of a 50/50 chance of a successful VBAC and tbh I just wasnt willing to take those odds. The thought of another labour and then a section at the end of it was too much, so although I am a but gutted I think I have made the best choice.

As I spent all day at the hopital (god forbid should the consultant see me until he had had his tea and biscuits in full view of me!) I am now working late so best get back to it. I am on mat leave next week so I will make more of an effort to keep up with the chat. you all talk too much

j20baby · 04/09/2007 19:58

oops that turned into a bit of a rant. sorry inzi-meant to say, stupid community mw, although the antental classes aren't that great, i've learnt more off MN than the class i attended!

Hi all

Looks like a fair amount of nesting going on. I was washing the kitchen walls and cupboard doors this am - not normal! And, unsurprisingly, am knackered now.

Unicorn - this LO (baby 2) also much less jumpy. Was a bit worried too at first.

Agree with all on ££ - enjoying my 90% pay for the next 6 weeks, but not looking forward to going down to 1 salary and mat. pay. Trying to be uber organised (that nesting again!) and started buying xmas pressies while I have some ££

Lisa - glad BP ok. Midwives kept telling 2 of my friends they were going to be early, only for them both to be a week late - they found it v annoying

j20 - nasty 4x4 man. Bet it was one of those times you wish you had something to say when you saw him with his very able kids!

Anyway, midwife today confirmed baby no longer breech. Yippee. Fingers crossed he stays this way - he's been like this for a while, so hoping he is nice and comfy. Anybody know how to tell whether he might be back-to-back (had that with DD and don't want again!) I can feel back/bum on front right hand side, so hoping that is a good sign.

Not such a successful potty training day. 2 x puddles and a poo in pants - great! No excuses, either, as we were mostly at home today. Anyway, let's see what tomorrow brings. Like other stuff (food, discipline), the nursery seems to be much better at this stuff than I am.

Hope everybody sleeps a little better tonight. Wonder what wierd dreams will be reported tomorrow

Hi all,

Have been feeling really tired and uncomfortable the past couple of days. Fell asleep on the sofa last night was asleep by 8 and dh cleared up around me he then woke me up at 9 to tell me to go to bed, bought me a jug of water and then slept in the spare room.....I was up about 4-5 times but he was trying to be sweet!

My open university tutor phoned today to ask if I was taking the exam (Introduction to psychology -I want to go back to work as an educational psychologist. Will take a few years but I think it's a really worthwhile career) as he hadn't heard from me for a while. I'm not as I couldn't cope with being prgt and Ollie so I haven't done all the assignments but he has said I can carry over the marks to what I have done which is great as I thought I'd have to start all over again. Am not enrolling for this Oct but Oct 08 as then can go at it hammer and tongs as definately DO NOT want anymore children!!

I'm glad Dal has been on I emailed her as I was worried we'd not heard anything but 'I hope all goes well for you!!'

Les -I was going to email you tonight!! Glad you are settling in your new pad.

Ollie has his nursery visit tomorrow and then starts on Thur for real 8.15 - 2.50 tues-fri. Have to say he's soooooo ready for it!!

I also need a little help from you ladies in posting photos in my profile. I have them reduced and do all what I should and it says 'done' but they never appear on my profile -can anyone help?

Sorry to hear we're all aches and pains atm I just keep thinking...not long now x

alicet · 04/09/2007 20:39

Read all your news ladies but am totally brain dead after a third night in a row of waking for 2 hours during the night - on top of the usual waking every 5 mins with heartburn / needing to change position / needing a wee. Has some jaffa cakes and milk during the night and didn't feel sick today - may be a conincidence but will try that if (when!) it happens again....

Can't remember everything but you all sound like you're doing OK and that dc's starting school all did well!

Dal how exciting!!! All the very best honey - will be thinking of you and excitedly waiting your birth announcement! Can't remember if you have other dc's and if so how you have delivered before... I have had a section last time - more than happy to tell you about my experience. Plus have a birth plan given to me from another mumsnetter about how to make it more personal if you would like it. Just CAT me or ask me here. There is loads of info anyway on here so sure you can find out anything you want but the offer is there if you like...

Kezza how exciting for you too! Good luck! I start Mat leave next week too so will look forward to hearing from you a bit more!

Well we have FINALLY decided on lo's name. We were at a total stalemate where dh wanted Adam and I wanted Jake. So tonight we decided to make a decision and as good a way as any was paper stone scissors! So we did best of 3 and he won. So lo will be Adam. It has been growing on me anyway and I know will continue to do so when I meet him. And just really pleased that he finally has a name!

Anyway off to bed now ladies before I collapse.... See you tomorrow evening.

orangecat · 04/09/2007 20:40

Inzi - our parallel nesting made me laugh Wiping down kitchen walls is just not normal. I couldn't stop either. Wonder what will catch my eye tomorrow...

MrsFish · 04/09/2007 20:41

alicet - I love Adam, how about Jake as a middle name?

ChocolateHobnob · 04/09/2007 20:53

Hi all

Dal, how exciting! and good luck.

Muppet, sorry to hear you're tired. Ditto Inzi and J20. But pleased to hear about ejt's son - well done him!

Alice, sorry too to hear you've been waking up so much. Nearly maternity leave now and you'll be able to rest! Bet you can't wait. Oh and good you've decided on the name. I like Jake and Adam both and I love how you came to your decision!!!

All this nesting... maybe it's too soon for me to nest. Or I'm too lazy. I am working fine but as soon as I leave work I feel zonked. I'm fine again once I eat dinner a bit later. I am wondering if plan to work till 12 days before due date was really that clever. Oh well.

It seems like loads of people are almost ready to give birth! Really exciting. How is Buffy, anyone? and hope you're still okay Lisa. Mrs Fish, good luck with the mw apptment this week - hope lo is now back cephalic again!

Have a good evening all.. I'm off to watch Hell's Kitchen (sad I know).

dal21 · 04/09/2007 21:14

Hi - thanks all for your kind words and encouragement.
I am feeling quite positive about the situation and very relieved also. I have had such a straightforward pregnancy that the last few weeks of extra monitoring have left me a little on tenterhooks. Much more of it wouldnt have been too enjoyable. Plus I have been struggling with trying to adjust to two possible birthing scenarios - which has been messing with my head a little. Again am now relieved that I know. Does that make sense??

Alicet - thanks for your lovely offer of the birthing plan but my lovely MW spent an hour this morning running DH and I through the csection - what we want (i.e. skin to skin straightaway - screen lowered as bub comes out, our music playing, one of the team is even our photo person! QC do the rather controversial 'natural' section which sounds fantastic. I just hope and pray that all goes according to plan.

Muppet - thank you for your email and apologies for being AWOL! I will text you my news and be posting as soon as I can I promise you!

Hugs to everyone! Hope that aches and pains are bearable!

ejt1764 · 05/09/2007 08:14

woohoo - I get to do the first Wednesday message!!

dal - I really hope all goes well for you on Friday!

alice - roll on Friday for both of us!

I have another hospital day today - but I'm off to the one over the other side of Cardiff (where I'll be having lo, rather than the one 5 minutes from my house, where the antenatal clinic is held!) - I'm having hydro this morning, followed by an appointment with the anaesthetist this afternoon. Hopefully I'll get some effective pain relief at last ... please!

love to all - have a good day!

MrsFish · 05/09/2007 08:20

Copied from the september thread...

Good MOrning all  am shattered but woke up at 5.30 and couldn't stop thinking about cs, and whether I may need one or not, and if I do, what needs to be done to be prepared for it, especially afterwards, and how a vb would be so much better because of ds but if I have no choice how to cope with not being able to drive for so long etc etc etc... tried to go back to sleep but couldn't so finally got up 20 mins ago. I reckon with waking up three times during the night, and not going to sleep till nearly 12 (reading Gary Barlows autobiography) I have had about 4 and a half hours sleep early night for me I think.

Just had delivery of my new fridge freezer, been lucky with deliveries this week, instead of having to stay in most of the day waiting, I have had all deliveries first thing

Hope all goes well today ejt

Morning all

Ok ish night sleep here. Still going back to bed later.
Its Tanisha's first day at school today Im dreading it. She all dressed in her uniform with her bag ready. God only seems like yesterday she was a baby.

I have had a weird thing this morning, I woke up and went downstairs, and then body decided it wanted to be sick. I hadnt eaten or drank anything yet so was horrible. It felt like morning sickness all over again. Anyone else had this?

I have no plans today apart from downoff and pick up from school and going back to bed .

Hope you have fun stripping wall paper.

morning all!

sorry not been on since monday morning (i think!!)

rang mw on monday and asked about the change in tablets, she said to ask consultant.had consultant app in the afternoon.asked her about the tablets and she scared the poo out of me!!she said that the tramadol are alot stronger than the co codamol, and was reluctant to give me them until i knew the risks.she said that teh baby can become dependant on them (and the co codamol) and can get withdrawl symptoms after the birth.so i told her that id stick to the co codamol and just put up with teh itching.she then said she didnt think teh itching was caused by teh tablets (have had them before and was ok apart from the fuzzyness)and she said i needed my lft's checking to make sure its not a prob with my liver.if it turns out that that it is my liver,i have to see her sraight away to arrange delivery.

the next thing she asked was if i had decided how i want to deliver lo.i was still unsure,so we talked it through, and if lo hasnt arrived by the 1st oct,im seeing her again to get a date for a cs.(if i want one) and i asked about being sterilised at teh same tme and she agreed to it.so im dfinately going for the cs (if i havent popped by then)

had protein and ketones and sugar in my wee,so that got sent off, aswell as being attacked by a mw with a needle to get blood!

kids went back to school yesterday (thank god!!)and i left my setee (still supposed to be on bedrest) and went shopping for things for the new house!got the rest of the carpets and a few other bits.wasknackered by the time i got home.walking is such a struggle now!

been awake again most of the night, woke at 1am for a wee,got back in bed and started getting contractions.had them every 20 mins, then went to every 10.every time i got one i thought "if i get another i'll wake dh" didnt wake him until 3.35,and he was insisting i rang the hospital.glad i didnt because it all stopped at 5am!!still feel periody, but got to admit the contractions were alot stronger than normal bh.

anyway, thats my news for now.good luck dal for friday.

lisa,hope your doing ok aswell.

cant remeber what everyone else posted, but i hope your all ok!

not long to go now ladies before we'll all be talking about sore boobs and sleepless nights!!

hugs to all!!!xxx

lisad123 · 05/09/2007 10:43

oh Buffy your really going though it too I hope things get better for you soon. It looks like we will be racing each other to the finish
Im trying to take it easy today, but other than feeling sick, im doing ok and keep looking at all the stuff that needs doing.

Apricott · 05/09/2007 11:04

Hi everyone,

Been too busy/tired to post for a few days, plus dh is constantly on line at home - gonna have to do something about us both being able to be on-line at the same time once I'm off work. No chance of catching up properly, but had a bit of a scan to check no babies had arrived in my absence .

It's all getting a bit close for comfort now isn't it?? I'm getting to the stage where I just can't wait to get this LO out - all the constant discomfort of one sort or another is starting to get to me. Though I'm clearly not alone on that! May ask for referral re spd when I see mw tomorrow - it's just getting worse and worse now.

I'm starting to nest too - though still being at work doesn't help. Noticed this morning that kitchen cupboards really need a good wipe over - must be a symptom of this stage of pregnancy . Didn't have time or energy to actually do it, though!

Feel for you all with dcs starting school. I cried my eyes out when dd started - and I wasn't even pregnant. Glad to hear first days have gone okay.

Good luck Dal on Friday

Ejt - are you having LO in the Heath? That's where I had dd. Did you have ds there? I hope it's been done up a bit since I was there - I have vague labour recollections of paint peeling off the walls in the room I was in.

Alicet - I really like Adam, but we had to rule it out on the ground dd is Eve and people would laugh - like your choosing method! We still don't have a shortlist settled.

Have good days everyone!

Bye for now x

lisad123 · 05/09/2007 11:13

Yep i cried my eyes out this morning I didnt let her see and waited till she had gone in, but she looked so lost and little. Its not even half day today, they go straight inot whole days at her school. God cant wait till 3.15

L

karlou · 05/09/2007 11:43

Morning all. Hopefully I should be able to be a bit more of a regular on here now my dds have gone back to school. They were very excited this morning. I can't believe dd2 is in Year 1 already, it seems only yesterday that I was waving her off tearfully (me not her!!) on her first day and now she's an old hand at it! Mind you dd1 is in Year 4 now and those years just seem to have flown by! Big hugs to all of you who have children starting for the first time this week, lots of the mums at the school gate looked very moist-eyed this morning. I must say the house seems very quiet this morning, I think I've been talking to myself!
I'm sure I've got the nesting instinct earlier this time round - I keep making lists of things I have to do, my plan is to sort out the airing cupboard and kitchen cupboards this week and I have the bathroom a good going over yesterday. I'm only 32+3 days - does this mean this LO is going to put in an earlier appearance? I wouldn't mind if it came a bit sooner, my birthday is 13th October so that day might be nice!
Hugs to everyone, hope you're all feeling as good as possible at this stage. Special hugs to anyone who is feeling grotty for one reason or another, I have read back over some of the posts but seem to have lost the ability to concentrate or retain any information so sorry I'm not more specific!

Collywobbles · 05/09/2007 13:19

Hi All, thanks for all the travel tips - I feel a bit calmer about it now. We do have a skycot booked so sounds like that will be a big help!

Dal - good luck for Friday! I know exactly what you mean about finally knowing which way you'll be going (natural or cs)- I feel the same as my placenta is currently too low so am waiting to see if it moves or not. I don't really mind which it is, just wish I knew so I could prepare mentally for it!

Yay! for all of you about to start maternity leave - my last day at work is next Friday and I can't wait! It's all a bit of a struggle now...although it sounds like my company are pretty good when it comes to maternity pay. I'm getting full pay for 14 weeks followed by half pay for another 6 weeks and then on to SMP...

Have a lovely afternoon everyone :0)

unicorn · 05/09/2007 14:22

Hi everyone,
Hope we're all ok - apart from the usual complaints that is!
Hi Karlou my kids seem to be the same ages as yours, am hoping dd (yr 4) will be helpful this time round - as last time it was tantrum city!

Had a quick look at the Sept thread- there seem to be millions due!, how many of us are there?
