Just a quick one from me too. Im home again after another long stay at hospital. Had a horrible midwife who was the sort that talks to you as if your something she stepped in and makes you feel about 10years old

LO heart rate is still too fast but not high enough to say she needs delivering now. I have to go back again on Monday, for another monitoring and then discuss with my consultant what to do on the weds. I was pretty knackered so came home and went to bed.
I have to go and buy the stuff for my labour bag tomorrow, just in case, should be fun. I love shopping.

J20 so sorry to hear about your cat, I dont know what I would do if i lost my cats. Least the man took her home, rather than leave her at side of the road. Hope your ok HUgs.

Lisa

j20baby · 25/08/2007 23:32

thanks everyone, my cat was really friendly and loving, she's the one that just had kittens, we're looking after my friends cats and one of them is the son of my cat so dd is going to tell him on monday when i've picked her up[ and we go to check on them hmm] well, needs must! also, dd was not happy the bloke has buried her (well that what i told her, hope it wasn't a wheelie bin job ) so we are going to have a bit of a wake when my friend comes back off hol with her dc's, as they where her friends too apparantly(the cats)-the things you have to do for kids! am trying not to think about it or i'll cry.

anyway have been out all night, quite pleasant-had a baily's, mmm was delicious!ankles have swollen up even more to hooves!

going to bed soon, out for my birthday tomorrow

lisa-sorry that your having problems, rottweiler mw's are not what you need atm, bloody people, i think they forget that it is our lives that they are dealing with iykwim, take it easy, try not to get too stressed, if you are really worried, just go a bit neurotic, and demand to get what you want! blame the hormones, sending you hugs

nellie-glad the wedding was nice, sleep
well

inzi-hope your having lovely couple-y time, nice memories to look back on and draw strength from when your sniping at each other due to sheer exhaustion!

chochotnob-sod the menu, thats what the printed versions are for from take-aways have fun shopping tomorrow.

right off to bed myself, hope your all having a good nights sleep

hi all,
I'm up with my usual 'can't sleep at night but knackered during day' problem, ho hum.

Had 32 week scan (been monitored monthly because I'm ancient!) and weight is estimated at 5lbs - which is quite high considering my dd was 6.12 (42 weeks) and ds 7.12 (on time)
Anyhow- anyone else got weights yet?

Re tens machine I couldn't stand mine when in labour last time- felt like I was being given electric shock treatment - I guess it served as a sort of distraction tho!

Feeling very like a beached whale at the moment and finding it difficult to lift self out of seat (need a crane!)

Re hospital bag - do you all just have 1, or 2? There is quite a lot to stick in as I vaguely recall.

Anyhow keep well all...

j20baby · 26/08/2007 00:10

hi unicorn

i've got 2 bags-half packed,

not been told a weight yet!

lisad123 · 26/08/2007 08:09

Morning all.

I spelt well which i guess was coz i was so shattered from not sleeping for the last week

Hope your ok this morning J20, your DD sounds like she has thought everything though, bless her.

I was saying to Darren yesterday I need to repack my bag. I have a bag with over night stuff but no labour bag , I do have a bag packed for little one, which I have packed with tiny baby clothes and new born. They are saying on scan LO is 4lb on scan from Thurs (34 weeks) but I dont trust those after DD was 5lb and I was told 7-8lb . Going to buy all the labout things today, so I will have 2 bags too, or might be 3

Looks like a lovely day here today, so off to get dressed in something that fits (oh i forgot i dont have that anymore hehehe)

Im feeling a lot happpier today and thank you all so much for all the support, I hate maoning but darren is just stressed as me, so need to let off steam somewhere. Just keep think only 6 weeks left (4 if i get my section, 3 if she arrives like dd)

Hello ladies! Dh's turn for a lie in and our guests still sleeping so time for quick catch up as long as ds continues playing nicely albeit with a toy that plays an annoying tinny song!!! Weather was good enough last night for our bbq but not really warm enough to sit outside - we sat at our dining table with the patio door open which felt like a resonable compromise!

Inzi - glad your computer sorted itself out and you had a good days shopping!

Chochobnob - glad you had fun shopping too! Re the tens machine just make sure that you get one that is a maternity tens - some of the cheaper ones are only for use for other conditions and don't have the booster facility to give you continuous stimulation during a contraction. I have a babycare Femme tens - you can buy / rent them from Boots. Can't remember why I chose this one now though!

J20 - really sorry to hear about your cat. I was distraught when mine died a few years ago (she was attacked by dogs) so know how you feel. Hope you had a good night out and looked gorgeous in your dress...

ejt - thanks for the muffin and sorry you had a crap day yesterday. Hope you feel better today...

Lisa - sorry you're still having a rough time. Hope all goes well on Monday and keep us posted.

Unicorn - Hello! Long time no see...

Well I think my memory did pretty well there especially for first thing after a broken nights sleep! Enjoy the rest of your day, hello to everyone else and will prob be about later....

alicet · 26/08/2007 08:14

Cross posted lisa - don't you worry about moaning. Feel free! It must be a really worrying time. Big hugs t you and your family....

Must go give ds his brekkie now so see you later....

MrsFish · 26/08/2007 09:34

Oh, so sorry to hear about your cat J20 but HAPPY BIRTHDAY have a fab day

Glad you are feeling better this morning lisa

Well I had a nice lie in this morning, got up at 8.45, I told DH last night that he WAS going to get ds up this morning and sorted with breakfast etc, and they were nice and quiet for once, usually when dh gets up he makes that much noise I may as well get up too. I slept in the spare room with a fan aimed at the bed all night, it was bliss, plus it helped cover up the noise from them this morning. I still woke up twice with heartburn and twice for the loo but still feel better rested today. The sun is out and shining again so may have another relaxing day sat outside, after I have finished some ironing that is... it really needs doing

Hope you all have a good day

FloriaTosca · 26/08/2007 14:38

Hi All
It wasn't the battery on the lap top, it was the cable not feeding the battery...it blew up just after my last post on Thursday...so until a new cable arrives dh has set up the massive ancient slow thing that I'm struggling with now Typical that it's a bank holiday
It's taken me over an hour to read through all the news you chatty lot and I've got to go to Tesco before it closes or we don't have breakfast in the morning, but briefly I just want to say;
J20; (hugs)I'm so very sorry about your cat; at least you now have the slight consolation of knowing what happened (our last cat just dissappeared...DH thinks a fox got him...I think if it was a fox he more likely killed it and had a heart attack dragging it home!) I hope it doesn't spoil your birthday too much. Try to have a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
Lisa; I'm sorry you have been having such a scary rough time of it...glad LO is hanging in there and hope the heart beat starts to settle soon
EMJ; Welcome and Polar good to see you again...ditto with both of you on the bigger than the average baby (I get another scan on Tues to check that the 30 wk 4lb+ and 14 days ahead of itself is still on track at 34wks) but close friend was scared with an "it's going to be a 10-12lber" and had a 6lb 13oz boy in July..so I'm taking it all with a pinch of salt.
Right I'm off to make DH a cuppa (he's painting the front of the house) and go and get some food in!...
...may pop in later if I can bear the interminable wait for this thing to fire up!

alicet · 26/08/2007 18:17

MrsFish - glad you had a lovely lie in and relaxing day!

Floria - sorry to hear about your computer cable! I am so impatient I think it would put my BP up too much to use an old wreck of a computer so good to see you!!! Hope the new cable arrives soon....

And Happy Birthday J20!!!

Hope the rest of you have had a lovely day. We have been to look at furniture for ds's new room. Saw some nice stuff in the Barker and Stonehouse sale which we may well go for but there is one other place we need to check out tomorrow before making a final decision.... We've just come back from tea in a pub - its great to take ds there as it has lots of little room areas and isn't too busy - we had one all to ourself so he could run about without disturbing anyone. Which he did with bells on! He was being so smiley and giggly it was just a pleasure to be with him. Can't wait until this lo is old enough for them to play together....

And I have been feeling much better this weekend. Enjoying it for what it is as I'm sure it won't last though.... Still tired but not totally falling over exhausted like I have been. And no sickness and hardly and sciatica! Bonus!

Tomorrow we conclude the furniture search, check out blackout blinds and curtains for ds's new room and sort through all our old baby stuff. Might get some of that done this evening actually but depends on what time ds settles and how much we can be motivated to attack the loft!

Morning all

Well did not sleep well no surprises there
I got crap in my legs sooo many times, I thought it had all stoppped because of the blood thinner. Anyone suffering this?
Im off to get dressed and head to hospital for my montioring again, wish me luck.

Lisa

MrsFish · 27/08/2007 09:28

Good Luck for today Lisa x

J20 - Sorry you had a disappointing night, its crap when everyone else are pi$$ed and you are sober, they all seem so daft and annoying don't they

alicet and inzidoodle - glad you had a nice day yesterday.

Well dh got ds up again today, well its the least he can do he is off on holiday for 10 days on thursday, and I woke up to a cup of tea and bacon and egg roll :yumyum: will suffer for it shortly though.

I was up till about 2.30 with heartburn last night, which is really annoying as all I had for tea was two slices of very thin crust pizza at 5.30 and a pkt of angel delight at 7pm (mainly milk for gods sake, what's to digest in that?

Today we are off looking for cross trainers, we are going to cancel our gym membership as we are not using it enough, well hardly any and its is costing us a fortune every month, and even after this lo is born its a good half an hours drive for me to get there, so its not gonna happen. This way hopefully we can bully each other into using the cross trainer at home, and I can do it during nap and nursery times... just need to condition myself to do it

Have a good day everyone

TheLadyEvenstar · 27/08/2007 09:30

BOOOOOOOOOOOO I am back from hols, will catch up with you all later as we are about to move some stuff to new flat. I have taken some pics of new place woohooo and will post them later for u to see. including pics of candles DS made on holiday, for the new place all colour co ordinated.

Hope y'all ok xxxxxxxxxxx

alicet · 27/08/2007 09:57

Inzi - glad you had a lovely day yesterday too!

Lisa - good luck today

MrsFish - enjoy the pampering while you can!! We've just cancelled gym membership too for the same reason.... The only time I get round to going is to take ds swimming and for that there are better places near us.

LES - hope you enjoyed your holiday!

J20 - sorry night out wasn't up to scratch - enjoy today!

We're off swimming with ds then sorting out stuff later....

FloriaTosca · 27/08/2007 12:41

Just a quick one..as this rubbish computer will take 5 mins to send it!
Hi All
I had a text from Buffy and she is having 'puter probs too..thought I'd let you all know incase anyone is wondering where she is...she is also suffering badly from her SPD poor love (sad) but is managing to be a wonderfully supportive buddy
This time last year we were racing from the long weekend camping at the Bouvier club rally in Newark back to Manchester to find out why I was losing so much pink tinged mucous ..I thought I had over done it by taking Thane round the agility course....we were told there was nothing to worry about, Robyns heart beat was fine. We seriously considered going down just for the day yesterday to try to erase the ghosts but as I had a bad day on Saturday we decided to leave it this year..we'll lay the ghosts to rest next year hopefully.
Hope all goes well for you today Lisa and that LO is ok and they don't keep you so uncomfortable this time.
Got to go make cuppas for the worker (he's still painting the front of the house)
hope all is well with everyone else.

Hi all

Im back after spending 4 hoours stuck to a monitor again sooo painful.
LO was not behaving herself again and again the doc wasnt happy with the trace (heart rate up to 210), so kept me on until they were, which was the last 15 mins they still dont know whats happening.
I couldnt sleep well last night and kept waking so am pretty knackered.
Im pretty pissed (sorry) at doc as she didnt come to see me just told midwife and let her pass on message, no chance for questions. I have to go back weds to speak to my own consultant about what happens from here.

I wanted to do day out today with Tanisha and DH but no luck there, as didnt get home till nearly 2pm. DH has taken her off to the park, so im going to rest.

Hope your all ok today.

ChocolateHobnob · 27/08/2007 16:43

Hi everyone,

Lisa, poor you! It sounds awful. Do they not have any idea why the heart rate keeps being so high? (or why it comes back to normal after you've been stuck to their monitor for half a day!) It must be so scary and frustrating. Can you have a nice day tomorrow?

Floria, I'm thinking of you too. I can't begin to know what you and Inzi have gone through, except that I wouldn't have believed how attached I've become to my resident alien (LO). Hope you can just get through this time.

Inzi, that's a long working week! It's a shame you can't find a compromise. Maybe he will end up so infatuated with LO that he ends up cutting his hours and you live with less money??

Alicet, glad you've been having a fun and productive time. How was swimming?

Mrs Fish and J20, hello!

Yesterday we had another ante-natal class (complications in labour plus tour of the delivery suites and ward). I found the whole thing a bit intimidating! Seeing the forceps and the ventouse does kind of bring it home.

We also bought LO's pramette! I had more or less decided on a Mamas and Papas pramette (the Pilko one) beforehand, for various reasons including our small car and my wimpiness, but when we tried it out in John Lewis yesterday we preferred the Silvercross 3D - the mattress was nicer and the car seat fitted our car better, and was easier to belt up. So... we got the silvercross 3D in pistachio, at least we reserved it (my parents are buying it for us!).

Had a crap night's sleep - ended up in the spare room sitting up reading for hours - and then today have my brother and SIL here. I've decided on a menu for tonight: Korean beef lettuce wraps, Thai green curry, then chocolate brownies with raspberries and white choc sauce. Only thing is I'm tired after no sleep and can only really be bothered to sit around and read my book!

Hope you're all having a good Bank Holiday!

ejt1764 · 27/08/2007 17:38

Afternoon all?

Floria ? big hugs to you ? you will have a chance to out old ghosts to rest. Hope today isn?t too painful for you.

J20 ? sorry to hear that your night out wasn?t fab ?

Inzi ? thinking of you sweetie ? it?s difficult when the dp / dh feels that he has to work to be the breadwinner - as least you?re talking about it. Will he take any paternity leave when babe arrives?

Lisa ? so sorry to hear that the HPs at the hospital are not treating you right ? sometimes I feel like they think I lost my brain when I got pregnant ? but I tend to be fairly cutting if I think I?m being patronised ? it?s amazing how bolshy working with teenagers makes you! Sorry to hear you?re in pain with the spd.
A positive though (hopefully) is that if they were that worried about lo?s heartrate, they would have seen you today rather than on Wednesday ? I know that?s not much help, when you?ve been messed around ?

Chocolatehobnob ? have to at ?resident alien? ? nice menu too!

Well, I was the dutiful daughter-in-law yesterday ? after we?d been to church (dh came with me for once as I?m so immobile), we drove down to see the PILs ? absolute agony on the drive ? my feet have started swelling up to such an enormous size that I can hardly get shoes on ? and they are so painful ? anyway, we got there, and MIL and FIL just stood there while I was in tears getting out of the car ? I wanted to shout at them to go away and leave me to it for a minute, but held myself back. Anyway, we stayed for the afternoon ? had dinner, bathed ds, and then tried to leave ? cue MIL bringing out more toys to play with ? ? anyway, we finally got away an hour after we?d first tried to leave, which meant that we didn?t get home until quite late, which has meant that ds has been a bit more lary than usual after a visit to them.

Anyway, just before we left, MIL said to me ?You are coming down to see us when we go to Abereiron next week aren?t you?? ? (It?s at least 2 hours drive from where we live!) .. not surprisingly, my answer was a straight ?no!? ? she obviously thought I?d been putting it on or something when I was in agony getting out of the car! She then intimated that dh had said we would visit ? but when I tackled him in the car about it, he said that he?d said a straight ?No!? as well ? does she think that we don?t talk to each other?

So, had a crap night?s sleep last night ? was getting contractions through the night, and started to time them at one stage ? but thankfully they calmed down by about 6am. DH was home today, and looked after ds this morning, so I could stay in bed ?
I?ve told dh that I?m not going to visit them again for a few months now ? it?s just too stressful!

Having said that, we?ve had a lovely afternoon, we went to the Cardiff Bay Harbour festival, which was lovely ? we went on the big wheel, and were on there just as the parachutists came down into the bay ? fabulous timing! DH and DS have now gone for a ride on their bikes ? I?m supposed to be cooking tea!

Hello to everybody else ?

lisad123 · 27/08/2007 17:59

they have a few ideas about why LO heart rate is so high but they are guessing. One is my heart rate is quick too, two is the placenta has been affected by the clotting disorder, three just one of those things
I cant see my consultant till weds as his not on till then. It is worrying as I have no idea how her rate is doing once i get home, so she could be high for hours while im at home without me knowing. Tansiha was born by Emeregency csection for the same reason, at 37 weeks but i was already in labour, so slightly different. Which someone would give me straight answer but i know its likely they dont know the answer.

I dont have to go back tomorrow so hopefully have a nice quiet day with Tanisha. Hmm do 4 year olds know the word quiet?

EJT sorry the MIL was such a pain, why are they all like that? Hopefully next time you see her will be after LO is born and she will have to make the trip instead
Hope the swelling settles down soon.

Hugs to all that need them.

Lisa

alicet · 27/08/2007 19:18

Floria ? big hugs for you at this tough time. Like inzi says don?t force yourself to get closure until you feel ready. Hopefully lo?s birth will bring a closure of sorts ? he / she won?t ever replace Robyn I?m sure but will give you something amazing to focus on. Thinking of you?.
And could you please send buffy my love? Can?t imagine how she copes with 5 children and being pregnant?.

Inzi ? sorry to hear you and dh are having difficulty juggling your life. Not easy at the best of times but with such a hectic work schedule that will never help. Sure between you you will find a way through?.

Lisa ? sorry you have had another rough day at the hospital. All I can say is that bank holidays are always very busy in hospitals ? people have tried to leave stuff all weekend and then come in because they can?t wait any longer?. So maybe your doc was really busy and sent the message via the midwife to avoid you being delayed any longer rather than out of a lack of consideration. At least the trace did return to normal and at least you are seeing your consultant on wed. If you are worried before then just go back. Look after yourself?.

Chocolatehobnob ? please can I come to dinner? Sounds delicious!!! Sorry to hear you had a crap night?s sleep. Me too and I was also awake in the spare room from 4-6! Shouold have given you a shout!

Ejt ? glad you?ve had a good afternoon but sorry about all the stress and pain with your pil?s yesterday?. Not what you needed I?m sure! Can?t believe your mil trying to play you off against each other either. Grrrr!!

Well we went swimming this am which was great fun and then furniture shopping again this pm ? still no decisions though! Have one more shop to check then will decide ? have seen stuff we like its just that our fave shop has been shut ? typical! Off to cook tea now ? chicken fajitas so choc is putting me to shame! Will maybe be back later if not tomorrow evening. Hello everyone not mentioned?.
