knobjockey hope things are kicking off for you now!

Good luck pinkpigs

Science rest while you can!

DustyDoorframes · 23/09/2019 08:36

I think we need to revisit decaf's bump list!

Updating the last list-

SJP3
DustyDoorframes
KnobJockey
Fortheloveofscience
Puglover88
YEvans
Bbell2
Senners
Pinkpig

Is that right??? Have I missed any bumps or babes? And I really hope @Puglover88 is cuddling a baby by now having gone in yesterday!

IVEgottheDECAF · 23/09/2019 09:13

If that is every one left on that list then its not bad really, we still have 8 days left of september

kyles101 · 23/09/2019 10:50

Good luck for the rest of the September ladies!! Can't believe it was 3 weeks ago
We were sat around at the hospital waiting for things to get going!! The last couple of weeks of being pregnant are the slowest imaginable and the first few with the babes here the quickest!! Make the most of whatever limited sleep and rest you can get!! X x

C-section this morning went well, baby Catherine born at 8lb3! 2lb bigger than her big Sister 😂

IVEgottheDECAF · 23/09/2019 11:54

Congrats littlehouse!

KnobJockey · 23/09/2019 12:06

Congratulations!x

Fortheloveofscience · 23/09/2019 13:37

Congratulations littlehouse!

Just had my second sweep, some shortening but otherwise no progress since the one on Friday. Induction on Thursday looking more likely, not what I wanted but not really looking like I’m going to have much of a choice Sad.

BBell2 · 23/09/2019 13:56

@Littlehouseinthebigcity congratulations!

Not a lot of us left indeed!
I need to find some nice things to do this week to pass the waiting, no more cooking nor cleaning, or internet shopping I'm so tired I think I bought something off a dodgy website and have had to cancel my cards. Usually so carefull!

DustyDoorframes · 23/09/2019 14:59

Congratulations @Littlehouseinthebigcity ! Excellent news! Heh, she must look huge compared to your first!

@Fortheloveofscience I've forgotten why you are being induced, is it just post dates? Remember every single day there's a higher chance of you (and the rest of us!) having the baby, including Thursday so even if it is an induction it could well be a really easy tipping-you-over one, fingers crossed!

Argh @BBell2 the last thing you want to have to deal with at this stage! We've had a minor plumbing mishap, but I really can't be bothered dealing with it...

SJP3 · 23/09/2019 15:27

Congratulations Littlehouse!!!!! Great news. Hope you are all doing well.

I had my first sweep this morning. Nothing doing yet apart from a bit of spotting but remaining hopeful!

Got a growth scan in the morning for reduced size but midwife didn't seem overly concerned so 🤞 it's just routine.

Next sweep booked for Thursday and then induction booked for Friday if no baby by then. At least we have a plan!

yevans · 23/09/2019 15:28

@Littlehouseinthebigcity yay! Congrats!

Bump seems to have dropped a bit in the last day or so, which is a good sign I think!

Due date tomorrow so as usual I left it nice and late and only just went to get fitted for nursing bras today 😅 honestly I must have tried on about half the shop before they got a good fit for me. Apparently my "breast tissue is all awkwardly at the side'....so basically I have wonky boobs....great..

Fortheloveofscience · 23/09/2019 15:52

@DustyDoorframes yes basically just late, but because I’ve has 3 instances of reduced movement they’re starting the induction at 41 rather than 41+5.

@SJP3 I started to really feel the after-effects of my sweep (cramping and plug loss) the following morning, fingers crossed it works for you. If you do end up being induced on a Friday how far along will you be?

SJP3 · 23/09/2019 16:22

@Fortheloveofscience Thanks for that! I have been wondering if it did anything as I don't yet feel any different but still time then!

If I'm induced on Friday I'll be 41 weeks exactly.

Midwife reckoned if I do start labouring without being induced, it will be quick. Let's hope so!

pinkpig381 · 23/09/2019 20:35

Congratulations @Littlehouseinthebigcity! Thanks

Officially in my bed, been examined and am still 2-3cm with cervix 2cm long so they've put a propess in to shorten the cervix. They're very busy and I could be in here days before I get sent to the labour ward to be induced properly!
Fingers crossed the propess gets me contracting, does anyone know much about them?

Hope everyone else is doing good!

SJP3 · 23/09/2019 21:14

Pinkpig I'm afraid I know nothing about it but wishing you lots of luck and hope it kicks off for you soon!

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 23/09/2019 21:58

Little one is doing well, she seems to just eat and sleep atm so long may that continue! DD came to see her this afternoon , she was very cute and gentle but also super clingy to me so think she felt a bit concerned by it all! Now just hoping we have a good night but am very sore.

DustyDoorframes · 23/09/2019 22:32

Good luck @pinkpig381 ! Hopefully the pessary will do it's thing nice and smoothly.
@Littlehouseinthebigcity it's so hard with the older ones, isn't it! It's such a big change! And they are never as grownup as they seem. DC1 needed a lot of lovebombing and babying when DC2 came along. We will soon find out the impact of DC3...
@SJP3 fingers crossed for some progress overnight/tomorrow!

Megan2018 · 23/09/2019 22:35

@pinkpig381 I had a bad reaction to Propess sadly! They had to take it out after 2hrs as I had hyper stimulation, agonising contractions after only a few mins which carried on for a couple of hours after it was removed. At the worst point it was 15 contractions in 10 mins.
But I think that isn‘t common so don’t worry!!

pinkpig381 · 23/09/2019 23:03

@Megan2018 ouch! Been in for 3ish hours now and nothing happening yet, keeping everything crossed I get woken up with contractions!

Megan2018 · 23/09/2019 23:29

@pinkpig381 prior to that they had tried to insert the balloon catheter but couldn’t get it in.

But later on my waters went spontaneously, I was 2cm so went for a bath at their suggestion, had really strong contractions so when I got out they eventually agreed to re-examine me (they said it was too soon) and I was 5cm. Baby was born a few hours later. Total active labour 6.5hrs, second stage was just over an hour. Never got my epidural! But in hindsight it was fab

DustyDoorframes · 24/09/2019 00:07

@Megan2018 I'm so pleased to be reading that you had a fab birth- you had been so sure it would be horrific!

I'm definitely contracting. It had better come to something tonight! Last time I ought to have pages when it got too sore to type through them so using MN as a test...

DustyDoorframes · 24/09/2019 00:36

Paged the midwife and she said to just go in and meet her at the hospital. Eeek!!! Never gone anywhere in labour! In the cab now. This is weird. It's just being in a cab. But with contractions.

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/09/2019 00:56

Good luck dusty!

Puglover88 · 24/09/2019 01:46

@Fortheloveofscience congratulations! Hope you’re enjoying lots of cuddles!

Sophie Lyra Byrne born by emergency c-section today at 12:30. We had a horribly failed induction that led to baby’s heart rate going absolutely mental, intense contractions that lasted about 15 hours. Got an epidural for the pain. After 30 hours the pessaries and drip managed to get me from 1cm to just 3cm dilated, baby was back to back and not engaged at all! 😩

Anyway, all's well that ends well. The c-section went smoothly and am now enjoying lots of snuggles! 🥰
