Yay puglover! Love the name. What does she weigh?

SJP3 · 24/09/2019 03:23

@Puglover88 oh she is just beautiful! Well done you! Sounds like quite a journey to get there but so worth it all.

@DustyDoorframes I so hope this is it for you!!!! Keep us posted x

Stroan · 24/09/2019 03:35

Good luck @DustyDoorframes

Congratulations @Puglover88 she's lovely! How are you doing? It must be such a relief to have her safe in your arms.

kyles101 · 24/09/2019 04:10

Congratulations @Puglover88 ! She's beautiful! That sounds remarkably like my labour, we just managed to avoid the section in the end. It's a good job they're worth it in the end!! Hope you're recovering well.

@Puglover88 congratulations!!! Sorry to hear it was a rocky road, I'm so glad she's here safely!

Well, I gave birth an hour after my last message! We came in at the right time, we were on labour ward about 45 mins before she was born... she's lovely, already spent over 3 hours at the breast. Decaf, she's pretty much 9lb in the nose, so Decaf5's record is as yet unbroken!

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/09/2019 06:31

Well done dusty! Congrats!

Stroan · 24/09/2019 06:38

Congratulations Dusty! You don't hang around, hope you are enjoying all those lovely snuggles

DustyDoorframes · 24/09/2019 06:42

I'm just glad she wasn't born in triage- we had to wait a few minutes while they cleaned a room and by the time I was in my assigned room I was ready to push!

SJP3 · 24/09/2019 07:08

Congratulations Dusty! Very glad you got there in time! Sounds like you are doing great! So pleased x

Senners · 24/09/2019 07:14

Congrats dusty wow what a speedy delivery ! Did you have any pain relief or no time?

That list is getting shorter and shorter!

DustyDoorframes · 24/09/2019 07:57

Senners I've not had any in any of my 3 births. I quite fancied trying some each time but it's never quite got to the point where I've REALLY needed it, and pushing is just sort of different from pain anyway. I mean, it's not pleasant but you just need to get on with it so pain relief seems a bit irrelevant by that point!

IVEgottheDECAF · 24/09/2019 08:01

Haha. Tell that to the mw who tried taking the gas and air off me at the pushing stage Grin although tbh i think it was a security thing by that point Blush

DustyDoorframes · 24/09/2019 08:32

Haha I can imagine decaf! Not the time to add anything new in or take anything away!

KnobJockey · 24/09/2019 08:48

Congratulations to Puglover and Dusty! Sophie is absolutely beautiful. Another 9lber Dusty! It's amazing how many of them we've had this month- I really didn't think it was a common thing! Decaf, I may beat your weight yet though- I'm apparently not going to give birth until I have a full blown toddler.

Pinkpig, I hope you've had some progression!

BBell2 · 24/09/2019 09:03

@DustyDoorframes and @Puglover88 congratulations both! Hope you have a wonderful day with your new babies. @dusty your labour sounds great!

Have run out of raspberry leaf tea, dates and pre natal vits now...come on baby.
It's too shit to walk today, I hate pineapple and already made a hot thai curry and a lovely spicy fish curry last night. Zero symptoms in days. Will be lots of ball bouncing again today.

Puglover88 · 24/09/2019 10:26

Thanks guys, it’s a good thing I excepted induction day in the end as apparently her placenta wasn’t doing great. Loving cuddles today although in a lot of pain from the section. She weighed 7Ib 11oz.

@DustyDoorframes huge congratulations!! Sounds like you had a smooth labour! Enjoy the snuggles, they’re the best! xx

SJP3 · 24/09/2019 10:46

Just had a growth scan - all ok with baby but estimated weight is already 9lb 7oz. Eeeeek!!!!!

kyles101 · 24/09/2019 11:10

Yay congratulations @DustyDoorframes !! Sounds like you cut it fine there!!

@SJP3 I'd take the weight with a pinch of salt - ds was apparently nearly 10lb sand he popped out 8lb on the dot...

OP posts:
DustyDoorframes · 24/09/2019 11:16

@SJP3 toddler it is! But yes DC1 was scanned the day before he was born, predicted 8lb, actually 10lb, so punches of salt needed! That said, DC3 was pretty much bang on.

yevans · 24/09/2019 12:04

Woohoo congrats @DustyDoorframes

Think I might have lost a bit of my plug this morning, not 100% sure though. And just generally feeling a bit strange, like I used to feel the day before my period. Hoping these are good signs!...

Stroan · 24/09/2019 12:47

@puglover88 you are at the worst point for pain, keep asking for medication if you are struggling. I naively thought they would bring me it and then the aneasthetist came and told me I could have hourly pain relief if I needed it

Jackson321 · 24/09/2019 14:25

Hello! Just found this thread as a new member of
Mumsnet! Baby is due tomorrow! No signs of anything about to happen just yet. My first one! Been feeling terrified but reading some of your stories helps with my anxiety! Thanks x

SJP3 · 24/09/2019 15:15

Welcome Jackson!

DustyDoorframes · 24/09/2019 15:30

Yaaaay both baby and I have passed all our blood sugars (GD). I may yet get home today! I've not really slept since Sunday night, just dozed off and on for the odd half hour, and I'm feeling rather sorry for myself. Kids coming to visit shortly, need my brave face on!
