OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

“Morning” all.

@KnobJockey combination of sickness and contractions sounds vile, fingers crossed things ramp up for you soon so the end is in sight.

Hope you’re well on the way now @DustyDoorframes!

@SJP3 @pinkpig381 I’m also in the thoroughly fed up camp. Now 40+3 and other than a bit of cramping after a sweep, absolutely nothing. I’ve mentally moved my due date to my induction date of this Thursday and just counting it as a bonus if she comes sooner.

@Puglover88 good luck for today! Hope baby’s turned and everything goes smoothly.

@BBell2 Having to make that decision must be so stressful, sorry to hear you’ve got a cold as well. Not sleeping makes everything so much harder too, my insomnia has kicked up a gear recently tonight was a good night I slept til 4.30, yesterday I managed 2.5 hours until 2am Angry.

DustyDoorframes · 22/09/2019 07:42

Well, the "third babies can be very stop start" thing turns out to be true for me, pah. So just an interrupted night with contractions off and on and nothing to show for it. I never even had a Braxton hick with the other two, so I know I'm spoiled rotten!
DC2 did climb into bed at 3am when I was contracting a bit which was a bit worrying! Fortunately DP got her settled back in her own bed pretty quickly...
@Puglover88 good luck today! @BBell2 so frustrating to see different people all the time! How would you feel if you turn up in labour and there's nobody with the skills on duty? That could be a good benchmark?
Huge commiserations to everyone stopping and starting. You are all incredible women keeping going!!!

KnobJockey · 22/09/2019 12:35

Has anything started again yet @DustyDoorframes?

Thanks for all the kind thoughts! I'll stop being a whinger soon, promise. Managed to keep my cereal down this morning, so things are looking up already.

@Puglover88 good luck today! Hope everything moves quick for you.

DustyDoorframes · 22/09/2019 13:27

@KnobJockey winge away, that's the point if these threads!!
Nothing doing today so far, but I wouldn't expect it in the day with the kids around.
I wondered about paging the midwife for another sweep (I've one booked for Tuesday, but she said I could swap for today if I felt like it).
We have been running about putting up blinds (so I can labour downstairs without being on display...) and building the cot though- definitely a wake up call last night!

DustyDoorframes · 22/09/2019 14:08

Oooooh just got a bloody show- didn't have that the other times!

IVEgottheDECAF · 22/09/2019 15:03

Exciting dusty!

challengeyourreality · 22/09/2019 16:19

Yes @DustyDoorframes sounds positive! Reliving my last weeks of pregnancy while reading the thread from today and last night, it will all be over soon, even though it feels horrendous just now.

IVEgottheDECAF · 22/09/2019 17:16

Well said challenge pregnancy feels a life time ago here now and we are only on day 15!

SJP3 · 22/09/2019 20:55

Good luck dusty! Hopefully not longer now.

I have my sweep tomorrow and I'm going to tell my lovely midwife to be aggressive!

Senners · 22/09/2019 21:06

Congrats on the new babies! It's so crazy to think just days ago some of you were commenting on here fed up and pregnant and now you're with your babies!! Lovely

Those of you that have had sweeps/are booked in to have sweeps how far along are you when you had them/having them? I'm not seeing midwife again till 40+1

Fortheloveofscience · 22/09/2019 21:31

I had my first at 40+1, next is booked for tomorrow at 40+4. Not sure how consistent it is but in my trust they won’t do one before 40 weeks unless there’s a medical reason you need to be induced early. I expect you’ll be offered one at your next appointment.

Senners · 22/09/2019 21:34

@Fortheloveofscience thanks for your reply, have you had any signs/progress since your first sweep?

SJP3 · 22/09/2019 21:43

Senners, my trust wouldn't let me have one until 40 weeks either and first one I could get an appointment for is tomorrow - I'll be 40+3.

IVEgottheDECAF · 22/09/2019 22:04

Here you cant get a sweep before 40 weeks in the community but you can get one before 40 weeks at hospital

Dc4 i had sweep at 39+5, he was born at 39+6
Dc5 i had sweep at 40 weeks, he was born at 40+2

Fortheloveofscience · 22/09/2019 22:30

@Senners I’ll find out tomorrow! It was technically a failure as more than 48 hours later I’m not in labour, but I’ve been having period-like cramping all weekend and lost my plug this morning. Tomorrow’s examination will tell whether it’s progress or just because the midwife physically irritated my cervix last week - I haven’t a clue. Had a couple of painful BH this evening but nothing to get excited about.

Senners · 22/09/2019 22:52

@Fortheloveofscience ooo good luck hope it all goes well for you tomorrow then! Looking forward to hearing what happens. I'm 39 weeks exactly tomorrow so got a week still before I can be swept, I'm hoping baby comes on her own though

pinkpig381 · 22/09/2019 22:56

Induction day tomorrow, don't have to go in until the afternoon so I hope they'll be able to start something and not end up saying 'rest up for the morning'! I can tell I'll be getting no sleep, hate hospitals! Excited to meet our baby boy though Smile

@Senners I had a stretch and sweep at 38+2 with the consultant at the hospital, a week later I had my midwife appointment and thought she'd do another if I asked but she said they aren't allowed unless I'm over 40 weeks. So frustrating! Didn't end up doing anything for me personally, although I think it caused me to lose my plug.

DustyDoorframes · 22/09/2019 23:11

@Senners here the midwives can sweep a week before a planned induction, or sooner with something in writing from a doc. You can have 3 max (usually) with at least a day between and they try to get them all in and beat the induction to it! I was 38+4 on Friday when I had mine, two more expected on Tuesday and next Friday, then induction on Sunday at 39+6, due to gestational diabetes. Though hopefully I won't need ALL of those!
Nothing doing here this evening though- I think I have decaf's lying down only contractions...

KnobJockey · 23/09/2019 01:23

Ended up on hospital to check on a change in movement patterns, mentioned to them about the 4 days of on off contractions, and they offered to check me out. Still 2cm dilated, but the head didn't seem to be lower in my cervix. The midwife got another to have a feel, and both are now worried about breech. They had a sneak peek on a Doppler, and the head is possibly somewhere near my hip! So currently waiting for a doctor, as contracting away, and if the baby is breech or transverse they don't want me to go into labour at home, so hoping that a proper scan may give some answers- possibly a C-section tomorrow if it's quiet. I've puzzled the midwives!

KnobJockey · 23/09/2019 02:54

So the doctor cane down, and baby was back into position. Midwife then gave me a sweep, head was low down and now 3cm. Really puzzled them! So I've been sent home again, wait and see yet again!

Horehound · 23/09/2019 03:06

Hey! Oh so you've gained a cm... Maybe that's it starting to ramp up now then!!

DustyDoorframes · 23/09/2019 07:29

@KnobJockey nice restful night for you then! Hopefully the sweep will help get those contractions to focus??
Absolutely nothing overnight for me, bar DC2 coming into our bed from about 2, sleeping crossways, kicking and hogging the covers, and both me and DP too dopey to do much about it...
feeling super grumpy anyway. I just want everyone to beep off, and leave me to go into labour in peace. Possibly bar DP for assistance purposes.

DustyDoorframes · 23/09/2019 07:30

Good luck @pinkpig381 today!!!

Fortheloveofscience · 23/09/2019 07:32

That sounds stressful knobjockey but hopefully reassurance at the end that things are moving in the right direction at least?

I went to sleep thinking I could feel the cramping coming at regular intervals but it went away overnight and now nothing Sad.

Fortheloveofscience · 23/09/2019 07:32

Good luck for today @pinkpig381
