Hey all!

Looks like we filled up the first thread pretty fast! Took me a while to realise why I couldn't send a message.

This is the first thread I've ever created, so hopefully I've done it right.

I'm going to tag the most recent users that commented, so sorry for a lot of the people that I miss. Hopefully everyone will find this.

Hi all,

I've just found this group hope you don't mind me joining. I'm currently 16 weeks and 5 days along with our little boy (we did the harmony test at 11 weeks). The first trimester was quite difficult I lost a lot of weight due to sickness and have been in hospital a few times due to dehydration and also had a bleed on the womb. Things seem to be calming down more now. Due date is 19th April x

Batmumto2 · 08/11/2019 11:37

Joining in! Due on 6th April. Smile

girlanonymous · 08/11/2019 11:58

could someone please add me to the Facebook group.

Jay2020 · 09/11/2019 09:27

Hi all, can I join? Ive been lurking for a while, and had our scan last week.
Due 30/4,first pregnancy.
Struggling a lot with HG, but so excited to meet our little bean in the Spring.
They couldnt get the NT measurement at the scan, so booked in for the quad blood test in a couple of weeks. Another thing to worry about, right?!
Jay

Marshy86 · 09/11/2019 09:46

Hey Jay2020,

I feel your pain with the HG are you on any anti sickness meds ? It took me a while to find some that actually worked for me but now I have it feels like a god send but now heart burn has began 🤦‍♀️ I've been off work for the last 10 weeks.

Pip231018 · 09/11/2019 10:06

Hey.

I'm 17+1 today, due 17/4. Have a gender scan booked for tomorrow. I'm still very nervous about the whole pregnancy. Don't have my midwife app until Wednesday to hear the heartbeat. I have been using an app which claims to hear the heartbeat- I know these are not approved and can't be taken seriously but I've always found a strong fast heartbeat - it's helped my anxiety about suffering another mmc (rightly or wrongly).

Considering pram shopping - just to see what's about/what I might want but very nervous. Not sure if it's too early? I've bought absolutely nothing as I can't bear for something to go wrong.

Hope everyone else is feeling ok this weekend.

So new frustrating symptom...

I think I have pregnancy rhinitis and I struggle to breath through my nose and have been having nosebleeds.

I’m guessing the lying down makes it worse as from about 1am onwards every night I have to breathe through my mouth.. which then totally dries out my mouth in seconds and I’m constantly (every few minutes) waking up with a horrid dry mouth and throat and having to glug water. Which doesn’t allow any sleeping at all really. It’s really horrid.

Anyone else experience this?
Any cures?

lannacorrea · 09/11/2019 18:26

@CateyA Allergies is one of the symptoms from 2nd trimester... I suffer a lot with that too. DH has been complaining that I'm snoring at night because I can't breath through my nose... sorry! Lol
Keep a water bottle by your bed for the night time, to wet your mouth. If your nose is too bad, you can try to use a dropper and put saline solution to "wash" it from inside and blow it afterwards.
Hydrate your lips as well.
Unfortunately we cannot take any anti histamines. I asked my GP that too, and I just got a "sorry, you can't take anything " in return.
Good luck!
Xx

Marshy86 · 09/11/2019 18:35

I'll double check the name but I have really bad allergies and my doctor prescribed a nasal spray for me that I can take during pregnancy. Surprisingly my allergies have actually improved since getting pregnant but I know it may be worth asking about for yourselves x

ChickenNugget86 · 09/11/2019 22:09

I need a moan....

When does the sickness end?!? On week 15 and feel awful Sad I didn't know the human body could produce that many bright colours of sick eeek

Louxo · 09/11/2019 22:56

Hello everyone.
I see that a few new people have joined recently, so I'm going to join here too.
I'm 17 + 3, due 15th April. Easter week Smile
This is my first pregnancy and I'm super excited (have had excessive worry too though!) Anyone else here first time?
I have my 1st antenatal class next week which will also do for my 16 week appt.. (bit on the late side) Really want to feel baby's kicks but know that first time mums might not experience it for awhile yet.

CateyA · 10/11/2019 18:55

@ChickenNugget86
Ohh noo.
Mine ended about 3 weeks ago and I’m now 17 weeks but it still pops up if I’m tired or oversleep oddly.
Hope you’re feeling better soon.
My midwife did prescribe a medicine to help my nausea so might be worth an ask.
And my only other tip is ice pops x

Leag1 · 11/11/2019 11:36

I have finally started feeling movement. Wasn't sure if I was imagining initially, but can definitely feeling gentle pounding just below my belly button quite often. Almost 20 weeks

nikdan123 · 11/11/2019 12:48

We had our 20 week scan this morning, Its a BOY!! Absolutely over the moon and still in shock as I was adamant it was a girl.

April 2020 Babies - Thread 2!
lannacorrea · 11/11/2019 12:53

@nikdan123 congratulations!! I'm happy for you! Best thing is that all is well with your baby! That's so good!

I'm still not feeling my baby moving... 19+3 and still nothing... ☹️

nikdan123 · 11/11/2019 12:59

@lannacorrea yes definitely the best thing seeing that all is ok, to find out its what I wanted is just an added bonus :)

I havent felt any movements yet either, I am 19 + 1 but saw him moving plenty this morning.

lannacorrea · 11/11/2019 13:10

@nikdan123 Great to know that I'm not alone in this boat. Everything is a bit scary...

I wanted a girl and was over the moon when I saw the test result for a girl! It's definitely a super bonus! Congratulations!!

Sunshine8888 · 11/11/2019 13:30

Congrats @nikdan123! My 20 week scan seems so far away! Haven’t even had the date but it should be in the next 4 weeks ...

nikdan123 · 11/11/2019 13:33

@Sunshine888 did they not book your appointment in at your 12 week scan? They did with me, I also have the midwife coming to my house in the morning which I thought was a bit early.

It will soon come round, I cant believe we are all nearly half way

Sunshine8888 · 11/11/2019 13:40

@nikdan123 no they said I’d get a letter in the post so still waiting for that. It would be nice to have a date to count down to

nikdan123 · 11/11/2019 13:55

@Sunshine888 hopefully wont be too much longer for you

chrissiexxx · 11/11/2019 13:58

Jealous of those having 20 weeks scan, mine seems so far away. Got 16weeks appt on Thursday and my mid-wife promised to have a listen again to baby. Premature unit next week so hopefully get positive news and a scan.

In bed all day with pelvic pressure, anyone else with this issue?. Hoping just because I had stitches but nervous be put on bed rest.

For those still having morning sickness, hope you get over it soon. I personally found reflux tablets helped at 15weeks, worth a think xx

CateyA · 12/11/2019 13:59

Oh wow beautiful scan! Congratulations on your little boy! We’re convinced we’re having a girl based on no science I must add!! but my partner doesn’t want to find out officially at the scan darn it! I’m hoping the angle of the scan will allow guessing!!

If you haven’t got a letter but have got online maternity notes you can probably see in the visit history tab when your scan will be. Mine was posted there way before my letter arrived. Still ages away on Dec 2nd though!

Hope everyone is feeling less achy and poorly. I’ve found sleeping more upright and with window open is helping my breathing at night incase that tip any help to anyone.

Also think baby must be growing a lot this week as I’m getting more vaginal pressure (sorry tmi!) and ligament pain which my googling has said is normal thankfully

I sometimes feel very light strokes inside if I’m sitting quietly. Not sure if that could be baby movement or not but I know it’s very early

Pip231018 · 13/11/2019 04:38

Hi.

I had a gender scan on Sunday, the baby had its legs crossed so I had to run around the car park, jump up and down and drink cold water.
My second scan, showed I was having a little girl. I was overjoyed, so so so happy. I go to listen to the heartbeat and see the baby in 4D - the pictures look like an alien but it was the best alien I ever saw. She kept covering her face with her hands - camera shy.

I had my 12w scan at 11+4 and my 20 not h Tim 20+4 so I didn't want to wait all that time without seeing the baby. I'm 17+5 today at the midwife to hear the heartbeat.

In terms of pelvic pressure, last week I felt like I had to hold my stomach up because it felt like my uterus was going to drop out. The stretching pain was awful! So sore!! It's like I'd done 2000 sit-ups in 5 minutes every time I tried to get up from my desk.

In terms of movement, I have began to feel the baby but wouldn't have known it was the baby. The only way I can describe it is as if someone was under water and they breath out and a little line of bubbles runs up to the surface. That's what it feels like to me.

X

Bookworm83 · 13/11/2019 07:37

Hello, I'm 20 weeks and having my scan on Monday, can't wait! Been feeling the baby move for the last couple of weeks; he tends to be the most active in the evenings.
Does anyone know of any good natural remedies for heartburn? It's been really bad lately!
