@iano is it the start of carpal tunnel?

iano · 25/08/2019 23:23

Ive had a google. Yeah, that sounds about right @Megan2018 .Just what i need!! Confused
I don't remember the 3rd trimester being this awful last time.

challengeyourreality · 26/08/2019 00:05

Think it might be Braxton Hicks here too - constant, uncomfortable pushing in my lower back like I need to poop. It's not what I recognise to be labour pains but by gosh it's not nice. I can't sleep at all and it's so boiling in my house.

IVEgottheDECAF · 26/08/2019 07:23

Omg i slept terribly. Far too hot. Up and down all night.

38+4

iano · 26/08/2019 08:23

Same here! Horrific BH and I can't move my hands this morning. Flaming heat!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 26/08/2019 08:28

Sounds painful iano! Have you tried taking paracetamol?

My back is bad these past couple of weeks and i am taking paracetamol 2-4 times daily. It takes the edge off but i had been used to the relief of codeine which i cant take now i have gone past 36 weeks!

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 26/08/2019 09:33

@IVEgottheDECAF I am still on codeine occasionally for a pre-existing condition and no one has said to stop taking it - do you know why you had to stop after 36 weeks? I take it as rarely as possible anyway and try to cope on paracetamol atm so not a huge concern, but interested. I know I can't take it when breastfeeding cos with dd they switched me over to tramadol.

IVEgottheDECAF · 26/08/2019 09:35

I was told to stop taking it two weeks before giving birth. As i had an one dc at 38+2 they told me to stop at 36w.

easterbuns1 · 26/08/2019 10:31

I've not been told to stop taking mine, but I only have it once or twice a week at bedtime when I'm desperate because it knocks me out. Had one last night and was best sleep I've had for ages despite still being up 4 times to pee.

IVEgottheDECAF · 26/08/2019 10:36

What dose do you both take?

Megan2018 · 26/08/2019 11:18

Yuck, feeling grotty today. Went to do the horse reasonably early to avoid the sun and still ended up fainting! Fortunately could feel it coming so was sat down. Think I was just too hot, we have a blood pressure monitor at home and that’s normal. Just feel a bit wobbly still, what I need is a lovely big bar of chocolate. Bloody diabetes Angry

Made the mistake of telling DH, now confined to sofa and bored to tears! Sad

IVEgottheDECAF · 26/08/2019 11:23

Plenty of fluids for you megan

Am i the only one feeling like i actually dont want to go into labour right now. I havent got it in me. I literally cba.

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 26/08/2019 11:28

Well the hot weather can do one now! The thought of heading into hospital to be induced tomorrow in 30 degree heat is already making me feel bloody hot 🥵 Really hoping contractions don't ramp up until the evening/next day when it's a bit cooler. Bring on autumn and the first frost! This is really unlike me too as I usually adore the hot weather.

Hope those with babies already here are coping ok in the heat!

@Megan2018 take it easy and hope you feel better. I've sent DH and DD off to the park so I can relax on the sofa for an hour. Too bloody hot and pregnant to be doing any heavy lifting.

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 26/08/2019 11:30

Haha yes me @IVEgottheDECAF! Sadly I have no choice really, doctors orders and all that. Please tell me delivery suite will have air con!!

DustyDoorframes · 26/08/2019 11:52

Oh @BridgetJonesDaiquiri no fun for your last day pre induction!
I'm in charge of both my older kids for the first time in nearly a week, and it's not pretty so far. I've got such a short fuse, I've no patience at all and I just want to lie down.
I've also miscounted my GD test strips so don't have enough to last me until my clinic appointment tomorrow, so I'm going to have to track down a pharmacy that is open today and shell out for some. Very annoyed with myself.
@Megan2018 no more fainting please!! Lots of water needed! Can you watch anything to pass the time from your sofa arrest?

IVEgottheDECAF · 26/08/2019 12:05

So glad its not just me bridget! My last summer born dc i had a fan on wheels in labour, better than nothing i suppose.

easterbuns1 · 26/08/2019 13:18

@IVEgottheDECAF it's 30mg dihydocodeine that I've got with instruction I can take 3 times a day, but as I've said it's only at bedtime this time round as it knocks me for six.

I had better tolerance for it in previous pregnancies and took it much more regularly.

SJP3 · 26/08/2019 14:21

Found my little hand held fan after much searching. Oh the relief!!!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 26/08/2019 14:43

Found my fan this morning. Then remembered dc4 broke it Sad

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 26/08/2019 15:26

I have this one www.amazon.co.uk/EasyAcc-Handheld-Electric-Rechargeable-Travel-Black/dp/B01FJSJ2QK. It uses USB to charge and is brilliant. Used it on the train to and from work in the last heat wave. Already packed safely in my bag for tomorrow!

SJP3 · 26/08/2019 15:42

Decaf that's no good! Definitely a good time to replace!

Bridget that's the same as mine - I love it!

Puglover88 · 26/08/2019 15:54

@Megan2018 hope you’re feeling better and getting lots of rest! Well done to your DH for finding you to the sofa!

Puglover88 · 26/08/2019 15:54
  • confining not finding!
Puglover88 · 26/08/2019 15:59

Been in again for reduced movements today and now they want to do two more scans even though every time I go in, everything is fine!

I know they’re just being cautious but I also know it’s likely just my anxiety that makes me jump the gun. Also scans make me super anxious for days in the lead up so now I have two more weeks of worry ahead of me! I can’t wait until baby is here although I’ll then probably just switch to staying awake all night to check she’s breathing! I really need to find a way to switch my brain off 😩

Hsunshine · 26/08/2019 16:07

@puglover88 after I went in 3 times they offered to book an induction for due date
