Just catching up with the thread now, congrats too all the babies that have arrived @IVEgottheDECAF I'm with you on the not going into labour in this heat one! I've been having very irregular contractions and have a check up tomorrow with the doctor I may ask for a sweep to see if anything helps speed them up. So over this pregnancy now, just need baby to arrive safely and in good health x

tobeornottobe1 · 26/08/2019 17:00

@Puglover88 sorry to hear your in again for reduced movements, i would also be anxious! It's good they are doing scans and being cautious instead of dismissive, hopefully it won't be long until you have baby in your arms x

Florencenotflo · 26/08/2019 17:24

Sorry I've not been back, it's been a bit mad. We were finally discharged at 9pm last night. It was honestly awful and was fully prepared to self discharge at one point.

Long story short baby's brain scan was fine, they will repeat it in 6 weeks, just to check it again.

Baby has jaundice (but isn't yellow). To be honest I'm a bit frazzled and struggling to remember what the paediatrician said, but they took blood from her heel and were worried about the result, so asked us to wait while they ran it again. We'd had the scan by then and been told we were going, so DH and dd were on their way to get us. The blood results took so long to come back (they said it would be an hour) and the paediatrician wanted to speak to a liver specialist at Kings Hospital London to see what they would advise. I obviously start to worry at this point, we are all knackered and tired. Dd1 was so good waiting bless her, luckily the ward was so quiet last night because it was way past visiting.

Kings Hospital said they were happy for them to sign us off and we can go home but we have to go back tomorrow for another blood test and again we need to wait for the result. I've packed us a bag just in case but I'm hoping it will all be fine and a big worry about nothing! So we're there at 10am.

But dd2 is good! Very sleepy and snuggly which is good. I'm just so glad to be home!

Puglover88 · 26/08/2019 18:32

@Hsunshine oh I didn’t realise they did that! They haven’t offered that at my hospital.

@tobeornottobe1 yeah they are being very on it, I was just hoping I would have some stress free last weeks where I didn’t feel like I was being constantly monitored!

@Florencenotflo sorry to hear that it hasn’t been plain sailing for you after the birth. Glad to hear you’re now home - enjoy the snuggles and hopefully all tests are fine x

Fortheloveofscience · 26/08/2019 18:42

Puglover think I’m in a similar place, went in for the 3rd time with reduced movements over the weekend, had a growth scan 2 weeks ago and now been referred to the consultant (routine after 3rd episode, each time I’ve gone in for monitoring everything’s been fine). Not sure whether consultant is just a formality or whether they’ll want to discuss a possible induction if it happens again. Finding movement monitoring at this stage really really stressful. How long have you got to go?

florencenotflo really pleased to hear your home but not that you’ve had such a worrying few days. Will be keeping everything crossed that the tests tomorrow show everything’s fine and you’ll be left alone to enjoy the cuddles.

Puglover88 · 26/08/2019 18:50

@Fortheloveofscience I’m 36+1 so just under 4 weeks to go. Same - I am finding movement monitoring soo stressful, I’m being so unproductive as I keep having to drink a cold drink a lie on my side for an hour! Is your consultant going to do another scan or is it just a discussion?

Fortheloveofscience · 26/08/2019 18:59

36+4 here so pretty much the same again!

I think it’s just a discussion, they did a growth scan 2.5 weeks ago and said I didn’t need another one when I’ve only had one episode of reduced movement since.

I’m hoping that it’s just that I’ve got a really relaxed baby who’s going to be really happy and sleepy when she arrives Grin.

Hsunshine · 26/08/2019 19:04

@Puglover88 @fortheloveofscience they didn’t offer it me until my last scan and consultant which was 38+3
The reduced people never mentioned it, just the consultant after the last scan

DustyDoorframes · 26/08/2019 19:42

Oh my gosh @Florencenotflo !! Brain scan?? Liver specialists?? This all sounds like a right rollercoaster, no wonder you've not quite taken it in yet!!! Fingers crossed tomorrow is just a formality and then that's you all on your way.
@Puglover88 you've had such a tough ride, it's no wonder at all you are anxious. I think sometimes the stuff around reduced movement, growth scans etc just makes us crazy - although of course it's brilliant when it picks up an emergency, of course.

kyles101 · 26/08/2019 22:00

GD ladies, if you're like me there may be an end in sight - I'm 38+2 and think I can pretty much eat what I like again... had dominos pizza for dinner followed by a little choccie bar - tested 40 mins after pizza / 20 mins after chocolate and got a 6.2!! And yesterday I had 2 slices of white bread with my homemade carrot and coriander soup at lunch and got similar an hour after finishing.

@Florencenotflo hoping for the best tomorrow, I'm sure they're just be super cautious.

Puglover88 · 26/08/2019 22:20

@DustyDoorframes yes I agree with you, there’s so much more monitoring nowadays which is brilliant but it can cause extra worry!

@kyles101 that’s great - definitely indulge if you can!

KnobJockey · 27/08/2019 08:07

Morning guys! Horrible weather for pregnant people this weekend 👿

Busy week here last week- completed on our new house on Wednesday, midwives on Friday said baby was breech and needed a growth scan, moved on Saturday, scan on Sunday put baby at an estimated 7lb 6 and it's flipped the right way round! Which is a massive relief. House is upside down, can't sleep properly and honestly feel like I've been through the wringer this week.

But on the plus side- 37 weeks today! 5 more days till we're in September, then the eviction process starts with a vengeance! Baby feels much lower since it flipped round, and I'm struggling to move around again so I'm presuming it's engaged. Also got back to the point that I can barely eat in the evening, it's making me sick again, and I'm on and off the loo like no one's business. Thankfully it's all nearly over!

KnobJockey · 27/08/2019 08:09

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri good luck for today! Not long to go to meet your little one!

DustyDoorframes · 27/08/2019 08:35

Yes, good luck @BridgetJonesDaiquiri ! Do you know yet what time you are going in?
@KnobJockey that's a huge week!!!! I hate moving, so doing it this weekend, very pregnant, sounds like hell- and with the scan looming!!!! V glad the scan was good!

RonaldWeasley · 27/08/2019 09:21

Good luck @BridgetJonesDaiquiri!

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 27/08/2019 09:22

Thank you! I came in for 9am and have already been shown to my bed, had a presentation scan, wee checked and now on CTG for next 30 minutes. It's definitely go, go, go! Mercifully they've put a good fan next to each bed, so I'm nice and cool at the mo. Feels surreal!

boodles101 · 27/08/2019 09:22

Good luck bridgetjonesdaquiri
Wow knobjockey thats a very busy week. Congrats on the house move.

easterbuns1 · 27/08/2019 10:14

Good luck @BridgetJonesDaiquiri!

I'm shattered today, no energy for anything. Got a few last minute little jobs that need doing this week but due to the fact I'm neither use not ornament at the moment I need dp to do them, and he hasn't.

Fortheloveofscience · 27/08/2019 10:28

Good luck @BridgetJonesDaiquiri!

Megan2018 · 27/08/2019 10:41

Good luck @BridgetJonesDaiquiri hope all goes well!

Puglover88 · 27/08/2019 10:45

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri best wishes for today! Sounds like they’re looking after you! Can’t wait to see a pic!

@KnobJockey wow a busy week for you then, very impressed at you moving house at this stage of pregnancy! Do make sure you rest when you need to as well. That’s great that the baby has flipped - not long to go now! 😃

Dyra · 27/08/2019 10:45

Ooooh. Good luck for today @BridgetJonesDaiquiri! Squishy newborn cuddles soon. 😊

Cold pizza and a Pepsi Max for breakfast. I will pay for that later I am sure. Oh well. Final scan later today. 35+6. Hopefully baby is bottom side up now. Mat leave starts on Friday, and it should start getting cooler from tomorrow. Life is good.

Moraxella · 27/08/2019 10:49

If anyone else is on the dates, I have found 800g (10 days worth!) for £3 in Tesco. Small victories.

DustyDoorframes · 27/08/2019 11:41

No dates is one of the reasons I'm super grumpy about the GD...

Stroan · 27/08/2019 12:23

@bridgetjonesdaiquiri good luck! Doesn't sound like they are messing about, sending you speedy and calm induction vibes!

@knobjockey happy new home!

Just been to register the baby. He's all official now. And he's put on another 4oz so the midwife has discharged us. Even though I am never doing this again (ever!), I feel quite sad that I won't be seeing midwives again!
