@IVEgottheDECAF fingers crossed the sweep works for you - the walking might help speed things up too!

@Megan2018 that sounds horrid - hopefully it passes soon!

Think I’m getting a cold! 😩

Horehound · 06/09/2019 08:10

Many congratulations to @kyles101 and @dyra!
Well done you two! Enjoy baby snuggles xxx

Horehound · 06/09/2019 08:12

I think contractions would be a blinking relief!!*

Oof @megan2018 be careful what you wish for! Grin

Seriously, trappedwind can he excruciating though. Maybe try lying on your side or put legs in air and bicycle?

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/09/2019 09:10

Omg

Worst school run ever

So sore Sad

Megan2018 · 06/09/2019 09:45

@Horehound fortunately it has eased off now pain wise, I was literally bent over double in the bathroom last night though in tears. Hideous.
I am still full of gas though, my stomach is so noisy I sound like one of the horses! But it seems to be moving around easier so not painful-just bloated. It’s obviously hard to tell I am bloated when this pregnant but genuinely I am looking enormous compared to normal.
I’m about to do some stable jobs, I reckon shifting some wheelbarrows will help move it on.
But yeah, if I am going to be in pain I’d prefer it to be baby pushing out related than this!

DustyDoorframes · 06/09/2019 10:12

There's nothing like digestive pain is there, it's horrific, I feel for you @Megan2018 !!! Was it something you ate???

Oh no @IVEgottheDECAF ! Can someone else that the kids up next week? Any neighbours/ other school parents? Hills are such beasts.

In other news- colostrum harvesting. How on earth do you catch that stuff???? I had a go last night and it turns out I'm one of the lucky one who produces it easily- but very little made it onto the syringe! Me and my clothes got coated though...

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/09/2019 10:28

dusty i am rather hopeful i will not still be upduffed next week!

DustyDoorframes · 06/09/2019 10:44

Well there is that decaf but I am feeling very guilty at tempting fate again having backed you as definitely popping before kyles, so didn't dare say. Especially if you are feeling murdery again (I would be!!)

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/09/2019 10:46

Haha no i just hurt. Everywhere is a mess and just being on my feet hurts my lady bits Sad

Megan2018 · 06/09/2019 10:50

yourhealth.leicestershospitals.nhs.uk/library/women-s-children-s/obstetrics/268-foley-balloon-catheter-induction-of-labour/file

So I’ve just found a leaflet online about the catheter induction I’m meant to be having, the hospital didn’t have any when it was booked and my community MW said they’ve not had any training on it yet.
Most confused as the leaflet says they leave it in for 24hrs and most are done as outpatient which is different to what consultant said.
This is not helping my nerves! Shock I really want this baby to come by itself now!

Megan2018 · 06/09/2019 10:52

@DustyDoorframes yes it feels like my body can’t digest something I ate, even though ate the same as always with the GD. Don’t feel unwell and there is no bowel/stomach pain as such. Just an enormous bubble of air that won’t go plus awful reflux. I wonder if the baby has moved and is somehow blocking the gas exit!

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/09/2019 10:54

megan i know someone who had a balloon induction about 4 years ago and stayed in hospital while it was done, perhaps phone your hospital and ask for information on how they do it?

DustyDoorframes · 06/09/2019 10:55

Decaf that sounds horrible. Hopefully it means a very engaged head is going to emerge shortly.
And likewise Megan - hopefully your baby will get OUT ASAP and let the gas out too!!!!

Stroan · 06/09/2019 11:05

@megan2018 peppermint oil capsules are amazing for trapped wind, and handy in case you have a section too.

@dustydoorframes some people express it onto a spoon or a sterile pot and then suck it up into the syringe. It's SO worth doing, Ru had mine in theatre while they were removing the ovarian cyst and I felt amazing knowing that he was getting colostrum.

OP posts:
DustyDoorframes · 06/09/2019 11:09

Thank you @Stroan - I shall try the spoon, that sounds much more plausible. I definitely want to make sure I have plenty, it does sound worthwhile! Thank you!

Horehound · 06/09/2019 11:10

@12DustyDoorframes express onto a sterile teaspoon then sook up with syringe. Although when midwife came to milk me after baby was born she told us syringes aren't recommended as they breed bacteria. So we just expressed onto a spoon and had baby lick it up. But obv you can't do that yet!

Dyra · 06/09/2019 11:11

My midwife suggested forgoing the syringe if your supply is good enough and expressing into a urine pot (unused! 😝) as the insides are sterile as well.

Horehound · 06/09/2019 11:11

@DustyDoorframes not sure where the "12" came from on last name check!

DustyDoorframes · 06/09/2019 11:20

Hah I don't think I'm quite at urine pot levels of supply yet- I'll work up to that one @Dyra ! Teaspoon trial this evening I think! Thank you all.
Heh @Horehound I probably do have 12 door frames in need of dusting if you count cupboards - you knew my slack housekeeping!
I wanted to have a big sort out then get a deep cleaning firm in Before Baby but the sortout hasn't happened yet so looks like the doorframes are staying dusty. I think my nesting is taking the form of seeing dust and crap and feeling cross about it but taking no action...

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/09/2019 11:23

I feel you on the housework dusty! I am having to wash up in small sessions this morning before i need to sit again Blush

Moraxella · 06/09/2019 11:47

I’ve got sterile syringes (1ml) and suck up the globules of it that I get from expressing. They sit there and you can quickly suck them up. Then I expel all the air and repeat. Takes about 15mins

Puglover88 · 06/09/2019 12:18

Yes I was going to suggest something pepperminty @Megan2018 either tea or a capsule.

KnobJockey · 06/09/2019 18:33

How's it going Decaf, has it all developed yet?

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/09/2019 18:57

No. Was having contractions every 30 min, then every 20, then 10. But now theyve gone further apart again. I am so sore everytime i move Sad

DustyDoorframes · 06/09/2019 20:20

Oh no decaf!!! So promising!!
