Had my 40 week midwife appointment today. I've a sweep booked in for Sunday! Currently on my gym ball doing figure of 8s. Need this baby out now! No twinges or anything really!

Snowflake9 · 04/09/2019 18:28

September 2nd at 4am labour started. September 3rd after 34 hours in labour with just gas and air I ended up have a cecasarean as baby was back to back and my cervix wouldn't dilate the last half centimetre!!

I had a baby boy, no name yet , 7lb 10oz.

Don't ever undestimate your body. It can do wonderous things.

Cheekychimp1 · 04/09/2019 18:30

Congrats @Snowflake9 sounds very positive!!! Enjoy your time with baby x

IVEgottheDECAF · 04/09/2019 18:32

Congrats snowflake!

Dyra · 04/09/2019 18:43

Congratulations @Snowflake9!

Second gel in now. Baby is still happy as can be, but CTG says I'm not contracting at all. Though I'm definitely getting both front and back pains. Cervix certainly isn't playing ball, but hopefully this second gel will do the trick and I can have my waters broken. See what happens this evening now.

KnobJockey · 04/09/2019 18:53

No, she didn't Decaf, she said it sounded more like wee to her, but to keep an eye out just in case. I'm still not convinced- TMI but it smelt weird, as soon as I pulled my pants down, whereas wee obviously doesn't smell until it dries. Losing a bit of discharge today too, but not what I would expect my plug to look like, more snotty. Don't you love how much info you share when you're pregnant!

Next booked in for my due date, the 17th, I'd better not still be pregnant then. Period cramps are starting again now though, so fingers crossed they either shit or get off the pot, can't be doing with fake contractions!

Dyra, j hope it all starts playing ball and kicking off soon! Snowflake, congratulations on your little one, I hope you're enjoying baby cuddles.

tobeornottobe1 · 04/09/2019 18:58

Congrats @Snowflake9
@IVEgottheDECAF I thought Ild definetly come back on to find you have had baby. Don't worry late start but quick finish for you I reckon.
@Dyra fingers crossed you'll have a baby in your arms by morning x

DustyDoorframes · 04/09/2019 20:36

A ahh congratulations @Snowflake9 !!!

Hope the second gel is working it's magic @Dyra !

DustyDoorframes · 04/09/2019 20:37

Ps @KnobJockey pah!!! That's annoying. Come on the real contractions!

IVEgottheDECAF · 04/09/2019 20:40

Good luck dyra!

knobjockey its not very good she didnt check is it!

Fingers crossed i get my sweep tomorrow

sugarsprinklesrainbowdrops · 04/09/2019 21:10

@Snowflake9 congratulations! Thanks

Does ramping up of braxton Hicks mean anything is likely to happen?! I've had them on and off for weeks but they've been pretty continuous over the last few hours. They're uncomfortable but not painful and pretty continuous which isn't what I imagine proper contractions are like. Not sure if that means anything or not...I've only had an elective c section and have the same planned next week so have no idea what to look out for. C section is under GA so if anything's likely to happen in the near future, I need to stop eating & drinking as I've got to be fasted I think 6 hours before!

BeeYouTiful · 04/09/2019 23:14

I've not posted in the group since the troubles I had at the beginning of my pregnancy but I've been silently nosey for the duration of my pregnancy. My daughter arrived today after experiencing every sign and symptom of "the start of labour" for the past 3 weeks. 1 hr 55 minutes of labour so I can't moan. She's wonderful and her due date was 7/9. Good luck guys. Especially @IVEgottheDECAF I feel like I've been reading my own posts seeing your stop and starts over the last week or so. I hope your bundles enter your lives soon!! Thanks

kyles101 · 04/09/2019 23:53

Baby pic alert!!! Will update everything properly tomorrow, he arrived yesterday 8:45pm all well but in dramatic fashion!! Needless to say we're in love, hope to catch up with everyone in the next couple of days x

@beeyoutiful congratulations! A speedy arrival to make up for keeping you in your toes for so long

Dyra · 05/09/2019 01:38

Woo hoo! Congratulations @kyles101 and @BeeYouTiful! 🥳

I'm now on delivery suite. Second gel only got me to 1cm dilated, but that was enough to allow for my waters to be popped. Gas and air is a hell of a drug. Makes me feel like I'm about to faint, but it got me through.

Eviction process has well and truly begun!

Puglover88 · 05/09/2019 05:18

Wow, 3 babies in a row! Congratulations @Snowflake9 @kyles101 and @BeeYouTiful! Hope that you are all enjoying plenty of baby snuggles! All these babies are making me more and more impatient to meet my own!

Good luck @Dyra wishing you a smooth labour 😊 xx

Karigan195 · 05/09/2019 06:38

Wow congratulations all. Babies are coming quickly now it seems ;)

Losing track of time here with total baby fog!

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/09/2019 07:06

Hope you have your baby now dyra!

Congrats kyles & beeyoutiful!

No news here overnight

Megan2018 · 05/09/2019 07:19

Is today your due date @IVEgottheDECAF?

39 weeks today here. The Fear is growing rapidly. What the F have I done?! I am so scared of babies!

Huge congratulations @kyles101 so pleased for you!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 05/09/2019 07:47

It is! My first ever due date where i have still been pregnant

Cheekychimp1 · 05/09/2019 08:01

Congrats @kyles101. So cute!

I cannot sleep on side anymore as the weight of bump is so painful, even with a pillow propping it up.

Just. Need. Baby. Out.

Going to buy pineapple and raspberry tea today to see if shifts anything 🤞🏻

Littlehouseinthebigcity · 05/09/2019 08:08

Congratulations new mums!! So exciting!
I'm still having sporadic Braxton hicks that come regularly for a while, get me excited then prove to be nothing 😂 But to be fair haven't even got the Moses basket setup yet so probably good if baby waits a while! C section isn't booked until 23rd (they're leaving it later than I expected) so sort of hoping I go before then! Though not willing it as much as you @IVEgottheDECAF!!

DustyDoorframes · 05/09/2019 08:15

Awwwww @kyles101 he's gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!!! Argh re drama, but yay he's here!

And congratulations @BeeYouTiful - speedy!!

Hopefully you are rather busy with a baby by now @Dyra (or having a wee rest, you never know...). I really want to try gas and air!! Never quite managed it with the first two...

@sugarsprinklesrainbowdrops if you are worried you could call in? But do remember they do emergency c sections under GA without fasting, so I wouldn't starve on the offchace. Although maybe not the time for a massive stodgy meal either...

@Megan2018 me too!!!!! What have I done to my life??? How the heck are we all going to cope??? I'm only just washing baby clothes and haven't done my bag yet so that may not be helping...

Waves @Karigan195 lost in the baby fog- it will clear eventually, promise!

DC2's first day at nursery today, and strategically timed MW appointment for my Birth Talk. Hopefully DD will settle nicely and me and DP can have the birth talk without her assistance...

DustyDoorframes · 05/09/2019 08:17

PS @Stroan hello!! How's it going??
