Hi Dipsy- I believe all itching ought to be checked out. Ring your midwife to be on the safe side

IVEgottheDECAF · 01/09/2019 17:54

I had a really itchy chest when it was hot last week but its cleared up now

Been sat about with on/off cramping all day feeling sorry for myself. Gave myself a talking to and got up, doing cleaning now. If cramps are anything theyll continue (they havent so far)

DustyDoorframes · 01/09/2019 17:58

Oh no @Dyra ! My hospital let me leave between observations, and we made it out for a nice lunch at a restaurant really near the hospital one of the days I was in - is that a possibility? Or even DP bringing you a really special picnic to eat in the hospital grounds- or at your bedside!
But yeah, it's definitely not the start anyone would choose for mat leave. I'm debating starting mine a week sooner now, because of the GD making earlier induction more likely.

@Horehound that sounds utterly grim! I can't believe how many technical f ups you had to deal with!!! For the reassurance of other first timers, none of my births have been anything like that either. But yaaaaay the the feeding is getting going!! That's brilliant- it only gets easier now!

Dipsy77 · 01/09/2019 18:01

I think it may be self inflicted I’ve just had a warm bath which eased it straight away got out and my OH said what the hell have you done down there ! I’d forgotten I tried to shave my bikini line on Friday and that has been itching too he said it’s really red and looks sore I’ve put Sudacrem on laid on the bed with the fan on( not a nice sight)and the itching has totally disappeared although the OH has now started itching after what he’s seen !!

Snowflake9 · 01/09/2019 18:08

Itching should definitely be checked out. I itched terrible from about week 20-33 , I had lived function blood tests which came back clear but I do have to take an antihistamine everyday and have a cream to use if gets bad called Eurax.

Try an ice pack for the itching. It works wonders.

Snowflake9 · 01/09/2019 18:09

And Omg I did my bikini line about 4 weeks ago. That is not being done again in a hurry. I have never felt itching and uncomfortable-ness like it!!!!

Dipsy77 · 01/09/2019 18:12

Thanks snowflake9 if it comes back I’ll definately get checked out 😊

Megan2018 · 01/09/2019 18:28

The skin around my belly button is painfully thin and itching like mad-but its been like that for ages and my bloods are fine. If I was itching anywhere else I’d definitely get checked.
MW Tues at 38+5. Still feel 100% fine so I expect to go all the way to 40wk induction!

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 01/09/2019 19:03

@Dipsy77 as someone who has just had obstetric cholestasis, yes please do mention itching to your MW and they'll do a blood test to look at your bile acid levels. My levels were quite high initially but oddly my itching wasn't too terrible and came and went. Other symptoms of OC are dark urine and tiredness.

Horehound · 01/09/2019 19:14

Ha I Veeted my pubes about a week before I gave birth. I never use the stuff and made a right shambles of it. Never again!
What I have noticed now is 2 dark lines going down the front of my pubic region. Can't tell if it's stretch marks or what Confused

Oh and regarding dates..I ate about 5 a day for a week and a bit (maybe less) and went 1 week early!

DustyDoorframes · 01/09/2019 23:32

@Horehound dates are meant to make for an easier labour with fewer interventions! Well, I guess you didn't have any interventions in the end...

Lavellan · 02/09/2019 03:57

Might be kicking off here lads. Leaked over the bathroom floor about 1am, wasn't biblical but I peed to be sure and then wet through a pad straight after, so I'm pretty sure it was at least part of my waters. Been crampy all night since. Doesn't feel like a good pattern has set in and still talkable, so trying to sleep (ha) and breathe and see where we are in the morning!

easterbuns1 · 02/09/2019 04:21

@Horehound that sounds really bloody tough. I hope your mil calms down, it's hard when they are like that, really hard.

@Lavellan fingers crossed for you!

@IVEgottheDECAF really hope things make a proper start for you!

Sorry if I've missed any other updates.

We are doing fine, breastfeeding is going better although the cluster feeding seemed to start this evening which seems to have put my nipples back to square one. I've got my mum visiting for a few days, she arrived last night. The thought I'd probably having two grannies in the house to visit at same time this week is already filling me with dread. I'm antisocial at the best of times, I don't mind going to visit people but I hate people in my house.

Baby is absolutely perfect though she already has her own personality and dp has been brilliant, he's always been good with my older ones but it's been really special watching him with the baby.

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/09/2019 04:55

easter i hate people in my house too! Luckily everyone who will want to come see us lives near enough they dont have to stay!

lavellan i am Envy how many weeks are you?

Stop queue jumping people Grin

KnobJockey · 02/09/2019 05:16

Exciting times Lavellan! Fingers crossed the next little one will be here soon! Easter, I'm glad little one is settling in well at home. Horehound, are you managing to get any rest at all?

I'm awake with a cuppa, feeling bunged up and can't get comfy at all. My family threw a baby shower for me on Saturday, which was lovely as I got to see everyone and wasn't too much as it was basically just tea and cake out. Was still feeling antisocial though, as we moved house last weekend so I've had visitors every day- very much feeling the urge to lock the door! That sounds really unappreciative, and it really was lovely, but I'm so tired now!

Lavellan · 02/09/2019 05:17

I'm 39+6 so I doubt I'm jumping anyone far! If this keeps up we might be on actual due date.

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/09/2019 05:34

I will let you off in that case as i am 39+4 lol. Been cramping since last post though so just got up to see if moving stops it ..... also because DP kept trying to lie on me and snoring down my ear!

Horehound · 02/09/2019 06:33

Oh exciting @Lavellan. Hope this is and it goes well for you!!

@IVEgottheDECAF same to you..Hopefully this is your turn..finally!

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/09/2019 06:38

I cant decide if anything worth getting excited over!

My last two labours were unmissable full on contractions. This is just cramping and back ache. Although i have lost some more clear plug and been for a no2! Also feel a bit sick.

How are you lavellan?

Dyra · 02/09/2019 07:09

Ooooh @Lavellan. Hope things are underway and you'll have (I think - not at my brightest right now) the first September baby of the thread!

Dyra · 02/09/2019 07:12

🤦🏻‍♀️

I forgot @kyles101 was induced and might have had baby already. Sorry! Told you I'm not at my smartest!

Dyra · 02/09/2019 07:17

Plus if anyone on the FB group has had theirs....

I'm going to give up and go back to bed I think.

As one of the pesky queue jumpers, I hope you manage to get in ahead of me @IVEgottheDECAF.

Lavellan · 02/09/2019 07:22

It's OK, I don't want a race haha. Just managed to catch a bit of sleep. Dreamt I was robbing a bank while having contractions. They're still coming! Grin

kyles101 · 02/09/2019 07:33

Ha ha, I wish!! No baby here yet!!

Must say everything has been lovely thus far though, for anyone concerned about induction. We got here at 4pm yesterday, little bay of 3 to ourselves l, made ourselves comfy, mad monitoring, pessary in at about 5:30 I suppose. Baby was not keen on that part and heart rate shot up and wouldn't come back down to below 150ish, and was frequently going above 160 😬 dr said for us to have a break and change positions get something to eat etc then they tried again at 9pm - at which point I was having contractions - yay - 2 in 10 although very mild and short, and luckily baby was behaving perfectly, heart rate increasing through them but then settling right back down. Dh went off to get some sleep.

Unfortunately, during this time another lady had been admitted... and she wasn't coping too well... at about midnight there was a lot of noise and talk of stabbing pain and needing epidurals... unfortunately the midwife explained that they couldn't do anything as she wasn't even 1cm dilated 🙄 by about 1am the nurses took pity on me and kindly loved me to my own room so I have managed some sleep, although I think all the drama has slowed everything down unfortunately 😩

My money is on tomorrow being the day, although I'd love today!!

Just looked at food menu for the day - what a random collection of food items 🤷‍♀️

Hope things are progressing @Lavellan and @IVEgottheDECAF

IVEgottheDECAF · 02/09/2019 07:39

I do think something may be starting up but feel it is gonna be a slow one compared to my last two! Dp going to work and i am gonna try stay on my feet.
