Best of luck @easterbuns1!

@Horehound keep up the brilliant work, you can and will do it. My LO is latching but my nipples are suffering again, so I keep trying to adjust her all the time. I breastfed my eldest for best part of a year and remember the first few weeks/month were so tough and sore, but perseverance is key. It will ease up soon. Sounds like you have a great supply, which is half the battle. I second, third and fourth asking for support if needed.

And Shock re the gas!! I had a full on face mask for it and it was the only thing getting me through the final contractions. You rock!

Horehound · 30/08/2019 13:15

@IVEgottheDECAF oh Etta is a lovely girls name. I'm keeping that in the bank Grin

The girls name we would have used was Jessica. Although I think now if I go on to have a girl I'd pick Amber. Arthur and Amber.

Just managed to latch him for a whole 12 mins. I'm not convinced it was a good latch but he was definitely swallowing and it wasn't painful per se just not totally comfy I'd say. But it's a start!!

@Megan2018 as shame about your horse. I follow this horse/donkey charity in Egypt called Princefluffykareem and some of the injuries and state of the horses is horrific. Alot of the treatment is vet presvribed but they also use Manuka honey on open wounds. It's crazy how well the wounds heal. One horse had an actual chunk bitten out of it and it healed so well.

itakephotos · 30/08/2019 13:59

@Horehound our LG is Amber ☺️ don't come across that many which is nice. This time round we are sticking with our boys choice from last time and our second choice girls....it's so difficult isn't it! Only have 1 boys name we actually like!
38+4 here and now thinking it might as well stay put until September now!!

DustyDoorframes · 30/08/2019 14:04

Oh gosh, we are atrocious at names! It's so hard! Because it's weirdly so important and so unimportant at the same time. We are totally stuck this time. Last time we were ok, but our first was 6 weeks old by the time he got a name! This is our second girl so back to square one.

Yeah decaf I don't think I'm getting a small baby this time- just had a growth scan and she's 7.7lb already- I'm not 36 weeks til Monday!

DustyDoorframes · 30/08/2019 14:05

Ps @Horehound woot re the 12 minutes!! That's great!

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 30/08/2019 14:31

TMI postpartum moment - just passed a not so tiny clot and freaked the F out. Phoned triage to be told they don't worry about clots at this point unless they're bigger than a golf ball/egg, which this one wasn't thankfully, but still freaked out/grossed out in equal measure.

In another note, I'm not sure how much it helps heal but my spritz for bits spray smells divine/feels lovely and is v cooling on a pad!

BimbleBamble · 30/08/2019 15:25

You've all reassured me about the name situ and glad I'm not the only one.
I've got my spritz for bits ready to go, so pleased to hear it's at least cooling

easterbuns1 · 30/08/2019 16:20

Baby girl arrived safely this morning weighing 7lb 1oz. No name decided as of yet but we are both smitten she has the cutest wee dimples. Recovering well going to get up out of bed and have a shower shortly before the visitors appear.

Lavellan · 30/08/2019 16:26

I can't believe how popular Isla has become! It was a rare Scottish name not so long ago. There aren't many nice Scottish girls names out there, so I'm a little bitter it's been taken mainstream.

Horehound · 30/08/2019 16:37

@itakephotos well that makes it easy if you only have 1 boys name you like hehe.

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri the my midwife said they are only concerned with clots bigger than 50p.
Spritz for bits! My cousin gave me some and I totally forgot I have it! Thanks for the reminder

@easterbuns1 yay! congratulations!!! Can't wait to see her. Arthur was also 7lb 1oz hehe. Enjoy this precious time xx

iano · 30/08/2019 16:50

@easterbuns1 many congratulations!

iano · 30/08/2019 16:51

We've chosen a first name but aren't sure about middle names. I've just checked and it seems to be suddenly popular. Not sure what to do now Blush
I guess it doesn't much matter if we like it...

IVEgottheDECAF · 30/08/2019 16:53

Congratulations easter! Flowers

Having some cramping on and off last couple of hours but could just be last nights curry!

iano · 30/08/2019 16:54

Eeeek @IVEgottheDECAF!

IVEgottheDECAF · 30/08/2019 17:02

Its probably just the curry Blush

Fortheloveofscience · 30/08/2019 17:15

Positive labour thoughts, DECAF! Fingers crossed not just the curry.

Congratulations @easterbuns1!

Hsunshine · 30/08/2019 17:17

@IVEgottheDECAF I’ve had that for 8 days, no sign of a baby any time soon for me Hmm

DustyDoorframes · 30/08/2019 17:28

@easterbuns1 yaaaaay!! Huge congratulations, that's brilliant news. And glad to have someone in the no-name-yet club too!

kyles101 · 30/08/2019 17:45

Congratulations @easterbuns1 !!! Can't wait to see those dimples!!

So, drs have given me amoxicillin tablets... I just assumed they'd have done a drop... nhs site says fine to take if pregnant but do you think that means fine to take if pregnant and expecting an imminent (hopefully) evacuation? Just thinking coz they always say yo finish the course etc etc but baby will only be getting 3-4 days potentially of the 7...? Am I overthinking this?

IVEgottheDECAF · 30/08/2019 18:08

hsunshine i have had it on and off for a couple of weeks! Not as much as today though. My first two dc were like this but the last two werent so i wasnt expecting it again. Hopefully that doesnt mean i will be in for 12 hours established labour like with dc1 and 2!

Horehound · 30/08/2019 18:16

@kyles101 I think it will be ok but you could call your midwife to check?

kyles101 · 30/08/2019 18:22

I don't really have one anymore 🤷‍♀️

Dyra · 30/08/2019 19:06

Try MAU @kyles101? Say that you can't get a hold of your community midwife and the GP prescribed the antibiotics without seeing you. I'm sure someone will be able to reassure you.

Congratulations @easterbuns1! 🎉She sounds adorable. Can't wait for pictures.

@Horehound I hope that spider got what it deserved for causing you spill that milk! 😡 You're doing so well and persevering with it all. I hope even though it wasn't comfy, the lack of pain means Arthur is starting to latch better and you won't have to pump so much soon.

@IVEgottheDECAF. Hopefully this cramping will turn into something soon. I'm afraid my only experience is that my youngest sister (5th child to my Mum) was the only one of us born past her due date at 40+1. The rest of us were at 38, 28, 39 and 38 respectively.

Hsunshine · 30/08/2019 19:36

@kyles101 I just call up my local birth centre when I have a question, they are always helpful even though I won’t be going there

@IVEgottheDECAF let me know how you get on.... I am hoping/praying mine comes in the next week

DustyDoorframes · 30/08/2019 20:28

@kyles101 if you've not managed to get hold of anyone I'd ring labour ward, to be honest. It's worth getting it checked out this evening so the antibiotics have a day or two to kick in before they induce you. Very tedious!!!
How are you doing @Dyra?? Did you manage to get home?
