@Dyra that is so good you caught it and it's an induction, my friend recently had an EMC as it wasnt caught early enough, good recovery but she was still shift working and a bit shocked. Glad you were checked.

Thanks everyone for your kind messages. The shock is wearing off now. In good news, one of the midwives mentioned that in my notes my induction is scheduled for the 4th (37 weeks) so delivery doesn't seem quite so imminent. In better news, labetalol seems to be working its magic and they were happy with my CTG. So I'm hoping that if my blood results tomorrow co-operates like my BP has, I might be allowed home and to come back in for induction. 🤞.

The ward isn't so bad. It's antenatal patients only, so no babies, and it's just me and one other lady at the moment in my bay. I still would really quite prefer not to spend the best part of a week here even so though.

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri what a beautiful girl, congratulations. Enjoy those newborn cuddles.
@Dyra what surprising news.for you, great that they caught it though.
@BBell2 how active is the FB group? I only use FB once a week if that so not sure I would be much good on there. What is different to here?

Pre op fine, absolutely shitting myself though which is ridiculous because I was never like this with the older ones. I don't think I will be getting much sleep, well I've not had much sleep for weeks and weeks so no change really lol.

We are good but I've just had an absolute meltdown. I just spent ages pumping and had a good amount to last 3 feeds and a fucking spider just ran across the room so I bent down to get it and the milk bottles dropped off the bra and spilled everywhere. I am so upset. I was so Happy with how much I was getting and that id be ahead for his feeds for most of it to have spilled on me and the carpet. It's really tough. I do not want to formula feed at all but this is so draining.
I feel so bad, I'm such a misery guts right now but I'm getting about 2 to 3 hours sleep a day and I'm running on empty. I dread husband going back to work next week.
Baby is absolutely fine though. He's so good, really only cries at nappy change time. The rest he is in his basket or cot and he will just lay there awake taking everything all in. So cute.
We've been given tonnes of clothes. Not sure how we will get through them all!

Eugh, bless you lovely. I'd say something about crying over spilled milk but you'd have every right to punch me for it. I blame insomnia.

Is it a latch thing that you're pumping for?

I know everyone says it but can you nap when baby does?

Yeh I'm struggling with the latch at the moment. I did manage to get him on for 5 mins today but not enough to keep his hunger at bay. So I'm pumping to make sure i have feeds for him but try to get him on breast too.
I actually just googled spilling breast milk and feel better now there's other stories to relate to.
I also have a sore right side. I'm hoping it's not appendicitis but jeez seems quite sore. I thought I may have a UTI and was waiting on midwives to do a home visit and they do all the pee and blood checks but since we got home from hospital we've not heard from anyone! I think a midwife is due to come today so hopefully she can do some checks.
It's all go in the household..!

It sounds like you do have a good supply though so that's great news. Does he have tongue tie? That seems really common. I'm hoping to bf too, and totally get not wanting to use any formula, but if a tiny little top up feed helped and meant you could get some decent sleep then I deffo see the benefit. Really hope it's not appendicitis- that's the last thing you need 😬

i think I've got an ear infection 🙄 far far tmi but there's some pretty funky smelling gunk coming from it and it hurts, but think I have more chance of getting a decent nights sleep tonight than getting a drs appointment before being induced on Sunday... might try the chemists to see if they take pity on me and can give me something?

Deffo no tongue tie and he has reqlly good suction. Just didn't get the knack when he was born and so need to learn it properly again. I'm pumping again and supply is good so I feel better. Yeh I don't mind the occasional to up but it's so demoralizing when I knew I had the good stuff to give him and bloody lost it!

Oh that's horrible re. Ear infection. I'd definitely try to get to the Dr today if you can?

@Horehound exclusive pumping when they won't latch on is bloody hard, I remember it well. I know it's easier said than done but don't be too hard on yourself you are doing a brilliant job and hopefully things will resolve and become easier one way or another.

@kyles101 I don't think pharmacy will touch you because you are pregnant but hopefully you can get an emergency appointment today!

Today is the day for me. Managed to get a couple hours broken sleep. Already looking forward to breaking my fast later I feel sick with nerves and I'm starving because I was nervous last night and never had dinner. Small thing of having a baby before I can eat though. Will update later.

Oh @horehound is anyone coming to help you with feeding? I hope you can get the latch sorted, as exclusively pumping is so tough I’m told, and with all the trauma you’ve had your body must be shattered.
I totally get why you want to BF but don’t make yourself ill-physically or mentally over it, that’s not better for baby than FF.
Really hope you are getting the right support with it all x

I was a bit crampy over night and lost more plug this morning so hopefully something is going on in there!

Even as someone who has never wanted to BF i completely get how upsetting it must be to work at pumping and then spill it like that great that your supply is good now though horehound

kyles i dont think you will have much luck with the pharmacy and your ear either, they are so funny about giving a pregnant person anything! I have even had pharmacists question medication my gp has prescribed

@Horehound you poor thing, that would have been frustrating on a full night's sleep, let alone 2 hours!

Back in for reduced movement last night but all is fine and the midwives in my new area are SO lovely.
