The mood i am in today i do not want to wait until September! So uncomfortable. Gonna try and have a good day housework wise and stay on my feet in hope gravity helps me out! Then i might have a curry.

IVEgottheDECAF · 29/08/2019 08:24

Oh and i still have no date for starting to receive maternity pay! Cant believe it takes so long when forms sent in JUNE!

Dyra · 29/08/2019 08:46

Legs crossed as well until Sunday. Had painful cramps on and off all day yesterday which got me worried. I get a BH whenever I stand up and while I'm walking around. Naturally it all stopped while I was at my midwife appointment.

Unfortunately, said appointment has turned up protein in my urine, high BP, and a previous couple of incidences of flashing lights in my vision. So waiting to hear back about the blood test, to see if I've developed pre-eclampsia. 😞

IVEgottheDECAF · 29/08/2019 08:55

Fingers crossed for you dyra I find the opposite with BH, they all get going when i sit / lie

Another mum from school has had her baby! Not sure when she was due but bloody hell i look like i ate her Sad i was sure she was behind me in the queue!

Puglover88 · 29/08/2019 09:14

@kyles101 that’s exciting, not long for you then! And you’ll have just scraped it to September!

@IVEgottheDECAF you’ve had so many signs that baby is on its way, I have a feeling you won’t be waiting too long!

@Dyra hopefully the blood test comes back clear for you!

Fortheloveofscience · 29/08/2019 09:15

Oops sorry @kyles101 I should have checked the crib sheet on the front page - totally lost track of when everyone’s due. Pleased that baby will be thoroughly cooked by Sunday, not surprised you’re keen for an eviction I’m so grumpy at 37 weeks sure I’m going to be unbearable in a fortnight’s time!

kyles101 · 29/08/2019 10:31

I've turned into a vampire. Seriously, sleeping at night has now ceased, I got 1 hour at 2 am and a couple between 4-6am... got up, had breakfast and pottered then thought sod it and went back to bed - best sleep ever and now just woken up 🤷‍♀️

DustyDoorframes · 29/08/2019 10:33

Ouf @Dyra that's a bore! Is your hospital bag ready? I was admitted in similar circs with my first and didn't get home til I had a baby. If your bloods are ok they might send you home for 24 hours with a big bottle to collect 24 hours of pee, oh joy!

Off to the playground for you @IVEgottheDECAF - some vigorous see sawing should do it!

Feeling beyond knackered today, and I'd hoped to do aqua aerobics later (it really helps my blood sugars! And I have ketones so need to up the carbs...) but just getting to work has finished me off!

easterbuns1 · 29/08/2019 10:47

In this morning getting my pre op assessment, absolutely shitting myself with the realisation I'm having another baby tomorrow. Ward seems quiet though which is something!

Moraxella · 29/08/2019 10:51

Kyles I am the same! My sleeping pattern after the hot weather is shot but I am not sure there’s much point in trying to reclaim it! I have a few naps in the day that then mean I can’t sleep at night which makes me nap more..!

DustyDoorframes · 29/08/2019 10:52

Oooh good luck @easterbuns1 ! I hope they are all lovely!

BimbleBamble · 29/08/2019 10:57

Also on a vampire style sleep pattern, don't think I've managed to get more than an hour and a half unbroken for at least 3 weeks...just have to get through today at work and then I'm done and can indulge in day time naps! If it wasnt my last day I would have seriously considered calling in sick, spent 20 minutes dry heaving before I set off this morning and have a horrible upset tummy, can't wait to turn the alarm off tonight and at least get some sleep in the morning, even if I spend half the night sitting up with the cat listening to the owls!

IVEgottheDECAF · 29/08/2019 10:59

Small children ruin day time naps Sad

kyles101 · 29/08/2019 12:47

Have a mammoth game of sleeping lions @IVEgottheDECAF with a bribe for the winner.

Yay for the last day @BimbleBamble I tried to avoid the day time naps but I've found that I don't think they actually make me sleep less at night, I can have a stupidly busy day and still not sleep at night, so nap away where you can.

Just taken doggy for walkies, gonna bake some cookies. Also, had an argument with dh - he said "oh, might have to do something for work on Monday (think 2 /3 hours or so and not particularly easy to drop and rush back if required) if so and so struggles (it is his business) i was like, we, I wouldn't rely on being able to do that; then he got all huffy, and I was equally huffy back - like MAYBE if absolutely nothing looks like it's happening but come on, really. Is it just too much to ask to be top priority for a few days Angry rant over.

Dyra · 29/08/2019 13:09

So in a whirlwind turn of events, I definitely have pre-eclampsia. Admitted immediately and will be induced in the next day or so. Won't be going home until baby is here now. Utterly shocked. Apart from the flashing lights I had had none of the other symptoms. I had been hoping for a bit of a rest before baby came but it's not happening. I was supposed to finish work tomorrow. Hell, I was doing a shift on delivery suite today. I'm still in my scrubs.

Thankfully, while the hospital bag itself hasn't been packed, we bought everything we needed last night, so DH will be making it up for me and bringing it in later.

IVEgottheDECAF · 29/08/2019 13:16

Bloody hell dyra! Glad you are in the right place Flowers

April88 · 29/08/2019 13:42

@dyra I was the same, no symptoms! When is your due date? Hope it all goes well for you.

Megan2018 · 29/08/2019 14:10

Oh @Dyra, glad they caught it but what a shock! Hope all goes well.
I’ve got my bags in the car at all times now just in case!

Currently sat at the BMW service centre waiting for a bodywork quote as Autoglass damaged some trim when replacing my windscreen Hmm. At least it has air con and wifi (and lovely refreshments I’m not allowed) but people look nervous that I might be about to drop Grin

DustyDoorframes · 29/08/2019 15:07

@Dyra ack!! I'm quite tickled that you are in your scrubs though, that will confuse the antenatal ward! Make sure DP brings you ear plugs and eye mask- if you are going to have your BP taken all day and night you are going to need peace in-between...
Preeclampsia is a ruddy bore, but the one good thing is that you don't feel ill (and now that you know you have it both you and baby are so much safer than you were when you woke up this morning!). And if your hospital is like mine, you should be able to wander about between your observations, so you could still see your colleagues for a "oops mat leave started a bit suddenly " send off??? ThanksThanksThanks

DustyDoorframes · 29/08/2019 15:30

Also, having never knowingly had a Braxton hick in three pregnancies, I seem to be having some since last night. They're no fun, are they!!! Not impressed. And hats off to those of you who have been BHing away for yonks.

kyles101 · 29/08/2019 16:27

Oh @Dyra what a turn of events. Any indication of roughly how long you'll be waiting?

RonaldWeasley · 29/08/2019 16:30

Oh wow @Dyra hope you're doing alright but so glad to hear you're in the right place! Best of luck for the next steps

BimbleBamble · 29/08/2019 17:22

@dyra woah! Thats really good they caught it, but fully get the sudden lack of prep time. Try and get a bit of head space tonight to prepare for imminent arrival though!

I'm so pleased to be done but feel a bit lost and like I need to do everything tonight and tomorrow, where really I need to spread it out a little! So I'm having a bath and going to work on some relaxing in the hope it helps the sleep!

BridgetJonesDaiquiri · 29/08/2019 18:25

@Dyra gosh what a whirlwind! Best of luck with the induction, it'll be fine. As others have said, you're way safer now than when you woke up this morning. And just think, you're even nearer to newborn cuddles than you thought.

We're back home! Here's a little pic of our newest addition. My toddler looks and feels like an absolute giant in comparison Grin

@Dyra that must have come as a shock but at least you’re in the right place and they’re looking after you. Best of luck to you over the next few days x

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri ahh she is gorgeous! 😍 I love how a baby’s upper lip pokes over their lower one - so cute!
