Congratulations @BridgetJonesDaiquiri wonderful news! Enjoy your lovely new baby snuggles.

@megan2018 i think that's totally normal but try not to worry. You'll have your perfect bundle soon. X

kyles101 · 28/08/2019 10:10

@Horehound what a few days you've had! Can't believe the attitude of that midwife, we'll done for standing up for yourself. Hope everything is back on track for you now?

@Megan2018 that's what I always think with the sweep stats. - they take into account all babies that would have started making their way out anyway... although after what @Tefiti2 said I might wait until next week to be on the safe side!!

@BridgetJonesDaiquiri sounds like the dream induction, apart from the ignoring you part! Hope for a picture soon. Did you manage any sleep at all?

Last night was horrible, I think I got some decent sleep somewhere between 5am and 9am. Excited to see baby again this afternoon 😍

IVEgottheDECAF · 28/08/2019 14:07

Quiet on here!

I wish tesco would hurry up with my shopping so i can nap while dc4 is asleep!

iano · 28/08/2019 14:16

Congratulations @BridgetJonesDaiquiri!! Glad all went well for you.

I'm sorry it's been so tough for you @Horehound! I found some MW really forceful in the way they tried to latch my son on. Hopefully, things will improve when you're back home. All will be well!

Puglover88 · 28/08/2019 15:12

Ah how exciting! @Tefiti2and @BridgetJonesDaiquiri congratulations to you both! Hope you’re enjoying lots of snuggles!

@Horehound sorry to hear that you’ve had a tough time but it sounds like your baby is one tough cookie! And hopefully the feeding will get easier with time.

@Megan2018 I also worry about all the things that could go wrong - I think it’s only natural! My DH always says that quote to me ‘worrying doesn’t achieve anything except to take away today’s peace’. I guess he’s got a point but I want to punch him in the face every time he says it! 😂

RonaldWeasley · 28/08/2019 15:22

Haha @Puglover88 bless him, so lovely and well meaning but I can totally see why that would make you want to wallop him 😂

We just went to look round a nursery, which was lovely but I felt like an imposter, still seems so surreal that we will actually have a little man to send there... felt like a child playing mums dads and babies!

easterbuns1 · 28/08/2019 15:22

@IVEgottheDECAF I'm the opposite I think boys names are much easier!

Congratulations @BridgetJonesDaiquiri and @Tefiti2

@Horehound that sounds rough, are you home now? I had a really rough mw "helping" me express in the middle of the night with my eldest and I still remember how awful she made me feel and how she hurt me.

Quiet day here, spd is killing me so not venturing far from sofa. I've got pre op appointment tomorrow morning so checked and re packed hospital bag for about the 5th time.

Fortheloveofscience · 28/08/2019 15:23

Congratulations @BridgetJonesDaiquiri! Lovely news hope you’re enjoying the snuggles Smile.

I’ve been torn re sweeps, the PBC videos talk about a risk of infection that I can’t see backed up in the evidence so generally it seems there’s no downside other than discomfort, I think I probably will agree to them just in case they do something.

Feels weird to think of the community midwife doing it though, I’m fine with smears etc as it’s generally a nurse I’ll never see again but the idea of someone that I sort of know rummaging around up there makes me a bit uncomfortable - even though I know a big part of a midwife’s job involves looking at cervixes BlushGrin

Hsunshine · 28/08/2019 15:30

I was just supposed to get a sweep but they couldn’t do it. She said works about 20% of the time and the closer you are to your due date more likely to work

Fortheloveofscience · 28/08/2019 15:54

Just had consultant appointment, been told they recommend induction at 41 weeks if I’ve not gone into spontaneous labour before then. So they’ve booked me in for 26/09. Feels a little like jumping the gun, going to sleep on it but not totally sure I’m 100% on board with the plan.

kyles101 · 28/08/2019 17:27

Being induced on Sunday Shock

Megan2018 · 28/08/2019 17:39

@kyles101 jealous much!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 28/08/2019 17:40

Also jealous!

Hoping back ache and period pains turn in to something

Hsunshine · 28/08/2019 18:02

@Fortheloveofscience up until they start it you can always change your mind. When they offered me induction at 40 I immediately said yes but the more I thought the more unsure I got so I’ve moved mine to 41 as a middle ground.
You can always request they check baby every day or two if you want to go over 41,

DustyDoorframes · 28/08/2019 18:06

Oooh @kyles101 !!!! What was the reasoning? Exciting!
@IVEgottheDECAF you've got so many signs!! I reckon you'll beat kyles to it. Come on Decaf5!! Get moving!
@easterbuns1 hope the pre-op is all good!

iano · 28/08/2019 18:15

@Tefiti2 apologies! I missed your post earlier. Many congratulations to you too!!

IVEgottheDECAF · 28/08/2019 18:28

Dusty i wish i had your confidence!

kyles101 · 28/08/2019 19:14

Come on @IVEgottheDECAF we'll race Wink

God I feel like a moody bitch this afternoon. I'm so hot and uncomfortable.

Their reasoning was baby was showing well above 95th centile but has slowed to just over 90th... no pleasing some people Hmm

IVEgottheDECAF · 28/08/2019 19:56

Off bump measurements i have also dropped from over 95th to on the 90th! Definitely up for a race!

Fortheloveofscience · 28/08/2019 22:01

Thanks @Hsunshine, I do need to keep reminding myself of that (and also that it’s only 5 days sooner than my previous late limit). Just feels weird having the appointment booked...

@kyles101 that’s exciting! I thought you were one of the later due dates in the group, hope everything’s ok.

kyles101 · 28/08/2019 23:14

@Fortheloveofscience na, EDD 7th September so 6 days early or so. They've been talking about it for weeks as baby has been measuring big all along, but growth has now slowed a little so have gone along with it. To be honest, I'm pretty hot and bothered now, and will have made it to 39 weeks (and into September!!) so I'm pretty ok with it. That's what 2 days of no sleep will do to you, apparently I'll agree to anything!!

I'd leave your date booked in, by then you might be begging them to bring it forward!! I was dead set against induction all along and look at me now lol!! You can always ask to push back if you do feel like you want to closer to the time.

IVEgottheDECAF · 29/08/2019 07:39

39 weeks today. I swear to god if after 4 babies being born before due date i go over this time i will loose my mind!

Megan2018 · 29/08/2019 07:53

38 weeks today, very apprehensive. Can’t decide if I’d prefer it to happen spontaneously or wait for induction date at 40. Not seeing midwife until Tues so it feels like a long week this week.

Still feel bloody marvellous so can’t think anything is going to happen soon. I really want some cake though!!

KnobJockey · 29/08/2019 08:05

2 days left until September 😱😱 scary times! Anyone else crossing their legs until Sunday and then starting the eviction process with a vengeance? I'm 37+2 so a little early off the blocks, but I am done with being pregnant now! Last night it felt like the baby was literally trying to claw it's way out of me, it's so big now.

Have we got anyone else due to be induced/ c section this week? It feels like it's gone all quiet after the baby madness of last week!

Megan2018 · 29/08/2019 08:11

@KnobJockey yes I am legs crossed until Sunday, partly due to the school thing but also I have a hair appointment Sat to get all my colour done! How vain I know, but have deliberately left it later to get the grey covered up so it lasts and absolutely hate how it looks-so need it done before baby! Lord knows how long it’ll be before I can get it done again once she is here!

Some lovely new babies on the facebook group yesterday! Awwww
