The hip pain is horrible isn't it! I'm getting it every night now and have to keep changing sides, I have a pregnancy pillow but I'm still woken up by sore hips 😔 also woke up with shoulder pain that had stuck around today, something else that aches! 🙄 oh well, like someone else says it's all for our lovely babies ❤️

@LolaLollypop yes i had my whooping cough vaccine a while ago and had no side affects other than a really sore arm ... I couldn't sleep on that side for a couple of nights but other than the pain it was fine. I'm getting my flu jab next week after it being delayed multiple times. Did you get any side affects from it? I'll be glad when I've had it as working in a school there always seems to be someone who is ill!

The young kids at school are now asking things like "so you have a baby?" "Why is your tummy fat?" 😂 they're so cute and now that they know they keep stroking and cuddling my tummy ❤️🥰

Cupcakes1234 · 13/11/2019 15:33

I've had both my whooping cough and flu jabs. The whooping cough left me with a sore arm but no side effects from either

45andfine · 13/11/2019 19:06

I felt achy and mild temperature after flu jab for 24hrs, along with sore lymph nodes under arms and get sore injection site.

Whooping cough just sore arm.

Had 28 week scan today.

Baby slightly on small side, but registrar happy and booked in my C section for.... 30th January!

No longer a Feb due date!!😯😯😯 Will I have to leave the group?!!😉

Also, no more appointments until 36 weeks!!

Cupcakes1234 · 13/11/2019 19:55

@45andfine this is so exciting! You know the date your baby will be born. Nooo you can stay lol Wink. I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going!

bessie84 · 14/11/2019 07:36

@45andfine - how exciting. im no longer a feb due date either. 1st or 2nd week of January. not booked but will be booked at 36 week growth scan on NYE.

Although I keep having awful Braxton hicks. eurgh. (im 29+4) if he could hold out a few more weeks, that'd be great.

Bipbop2020 · 16/11/2019 10:06

Sorry can't remember who said what... But I'm also intending to cloth nappy, am going to try it from birth but with no worries if I need to use disposables too! Am going for a mix of pocket nappies and wraps over inserts because I think they'll dry the fastest 😂

I'm absolutely massive (and only 26 weeks) but midwives don't seem concerned (and I'm actually not measuring that big - around 70th percentile I think because I'm short). However I do have visits from the health in pregnancy service because my BMI was 30 at conception - I didn't put on any weight at all until 17 weeks, and since then I've put on 5kg, so having a bit of a wobble about that and trying not to stress about food but also get good nutrition in!

My GTT is next Thursday so I just really hope I don't have GD!

@LolaLollypop I'm having my whooping cough vaccine in a couple of weeks - I basically just do whatever the midwives suggest!!!

@45andfine so exciting you have a date!!!!

@bessie84 a close friend of mine had horrible Braxton Hicks from about 27 weeks, was predicted to go early all along and ended up giving birth on her due date! Not pleasant for her, but I'm sure he can hold on for a good while yet 🤞🤞🤞 xx

doublebarrellednurse · 17/11/2019 17:05

How's everyone's weekends?

I worked 60 hours last week and slept pretty much all Saturday 😬

Footie on now and boys watching together while I read.

Baby very active today and I've started to really crave sweet stuff for the first time this pregnancy. Percy Pigs!

LolaLollypop · 17/11/2019 17:44

Not a great one for me! DD (2) diagnosed with tonsillitis on Saturday night. Had a worrying episode that lead to a visit to A&E when we couldn't bring her temp down, she was refusing all meds and started having these strange twitches (probably febrile convulsions). Thankfully the doctors brought the temp down with paracetamol supository but we didn't get home til the early hours of this morning so we're all very tired!
No 2 was very active the whole time, he/she didn't stop kicking me! Probably could hear all the screaming from its big sister Confused
Oh also was unable to have my 4D scan yesterday due to feverish DD. Have rebooked for next week.
27 weeks today! Grin

45andfine · 17/11/2019 19:55

Oh @lolalollypop hope everything settled down now x must be exhausting.

I've been baby clothes shopping, so hard finding unisex newborn stuff. And what's with m&s sizing? Newborn is 7lb, 1 month is 10lb.

I plumped for newborn but suspect baby will be over 8lb. Better fit!!

45andfine · 17/11/2019 20:00

@doublebarrellednurse 60hrs??? I struggle with 48hrs! Really getting tired, sleepy tired because I'm not sleeping well, and achy tired from carrying baby around. Someone needs to invent one that can be detached...🙄😉🤣

Dweebette · 17/11/2019 20:15

Just catching up on a few days of posts. I am sort of relieved to see a few people having a rant. I'm terribly grumpy this past week while also being extremely teary. Have just had a huge row with DH (not so much of a "darling/dear" in my books right now) and honestly feel like I could fight with my own shadow. Really paranoid about my mood swings and being so over emotional, especially with a history of anxiety and depression.

On the whooping cough vaccine, I had it a few weeks ago and no side effects aside from a very sore arm for about 4 days - definitely get it in the arm you don't write with!

On hip pain I feel like an expert as have had it for a couple of months. I find a full body pillow between my legs at night helps (not just between the knees). Also doing some yoga ball sitting which takes the pressure off in the evening and then kneeling on the floor, leaning on the ball and gently rotating a bit seems to loosen up the hips too. Have seen a good improvement since I started that!

Finally bought the pram today (I'm 25+2) so that's all the big purchases done now, getting excited! Baby is super active so it's nice to be reassured constantly

doublebarrellednurse · 17/11/2019 20:23

Yeah @45andfine it really has been a ridiculous week. Long hours "on the floor" and more work at home plus 2 x very busy on call shifts sigh

Please vote wisely people 😂

I'm pretty exhausted this evening. Sat in bed reading at 1930.

I'm hoping this week won't be so horrendous but it really depends on my service users. Also have an admission this week who is likely to be very difficult indeed 😬

Ho hum. I've a week off at Christmas 🎄😂 first time in 5 years I won't be working Christmas Day and I can't wait (even if I am on call)

brightbird · 17/11/2019 20:46

@45andfine John Lewis and M&S seem ok unisex wise, though M&S seem to categorise some things as boy that I think are very much unisex. We've got some bundles off Facebook groups and been sorting through which are excessively twee and which we find overly gendered haha!

Ginny1234 · 17/11/2019 22:30

@Dweebette thanks for the hip exercise tips. I'll try them out ASAP. So uncomfortable and sick of not sleeping/hobbling around all day.

@doublebarrellednurse thank you so much for all of your hard work! I wish things weren't such a nightmare for you all. I'll certainly be voting out Bozo !! Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

lovesT · 22/11/2019 11:34

How's everyone doing? I reached the 3rd trimester today so there must be a few who are the same now!

I had my midwife appointment today and she was happy with everything other than my urine sample showed some glucose in my urine, not too much but she wants me to come back to retest again next week. She said it might be from my breakfast (berry porridge with honey and juice) as it was soon after that. Hopefully all will be okay but just wondering if many others have had this?

Otherwise it was lovely to hear baby's heartbeat and my husband was able to come today and meet who should be my midwife 😊

Hopefully you are all doing well, not long to go now! ❤️

Cupcakes1234 · 22/11/2019 17:19

@lovesT I'm 28 weeks tomorrow so 3rd trimester pretty much for me now too! So exciting. She's been very quiet today, I've felt her but nothing like usually but I've been out all day and done a fair bit of driving so wonder if that could be why. I don't want to get myself panicked for no reason just yet.

Hopefully the glucose was your breakfast. She found protein in mine at my last appointment but she said it could be the start of an infection and she'll check it again next time. I had it first time which they put down to a UTI but I have/had no symptoms of it.

LolaLollypop · 22/11/2019 20:35

Hi ladies. Also 28 weeks on sunday! Had a bit of a MEH week! Was told I have a urine infection so have started a course of antibiotics. I was feeling a bit rough a few weeks ago, weeing a lot and some tummy pain but just put that down to baby on my bladder. Anyway the infection can't be too bad as I'm feeling better and weeing much more normally.
Had my 4D scan today which was unsuccessful. Baby has arms and legs tucked up over its face so we weren't able to get any shots - £90 wasted! Oh well, was nice to see baby again and hear the heartbeat. That's worth the money I guess 😊
My baby is also breech!! Really hoping he/she turns soon. Anyone else got a breech baby??

lovesT · 22/11/2019 21:50

@Cupcakes1234 it's exciting isn't it! I feel like when I'm busy at work I don't notice movements as much as I do on quieter days at home.

Hopefully your next sample will be okay. I'm not too worried but I am hoping it's just the breakfast!

I have my flu jab tomorrow after being sent away last time because they want me to have an egg free jab and then booking got really full 🙄 but I'm so annoyed because I now have a sore throat and feel coldy. Worried that I'm going to be sent away again because I'm a bit ill and will have to wait even longer before I get it. Has anyone else had this?

Dweebette · 23/11/2019 11:47

@lolalollypop my baby is breach as well, I'm 26 weeks and midwife said it'll likely turn a few times yet so not to worry but encouraged me not to "lounge" back on the sofa in the evenings, best position is sitting upright with legs wide to encourage the pelvis to open and baby to drop round the right way so I've been trying that (on an exercise ball as I also have bad hip pain and it seems to take the pressure off)

hazandduck · 23/11/2019 22:29

Ah ladies I have fallen off the thread again! Excited to see some have been given January dates!

I am 30 weeks this coming Thursday. Can’t believe it’s coming round so soon. My DD was 2 on Sunday, it feels like I only had her a few months ago!! Time just flies.

I have also been having braxton hicks, especially if I overdo things. And suffering absolutely terrible exhaustion, breathlessness and dizziness, at the exact same point the symptoms started with my last pregnancy! I knew before the midwife even told me that I was anaemic again! Dead arms and legs woke up the other morning and couldn’t even lift my head it’s horrible.

So I am back on iron tablets which are not easy on the stomach..! Bleugh! How is everyone else feeling? Anyone else on the dreaded iron tablets??

Hope all of you are well! Xx

45andfine · 24/11/2019 09:52

Also had a meh week, but not baby related, I'm just irritated by work!🤣.

Anyone had any food cravings? Mine seems to be muesli. The crunchiness, and sunflower seeds, the "smell" inside my mouth. 🤷

Also REALLY loving oily, petrol diesel, musty garage smells...

🙈 Yeah ok, weird now I see it written down.

45andfine · 24/11/2019 09:55

@hazanduck iron deficiency!! I've been having similar symptoms... Leading to my irritability. I do keep forgetting to take my multivitamin. And asprin...😒

45andfine · 24/11/2019 09:57

My first DD was breech, they tried to turn her at 37 weeks and I was told to scrub the floor daily to give her space to turn, she didn't. She still doesn't move much now, 17 years later! 🤣🤷

LolaLollypop · 24/11/2019 12:11

Now I'm not sure if I should be lounging back on the sofa or scrubbing the floor Grin The former sounds much better!!

Feeling very achy today. Bum/hip is very sciatica-y. Also my whooping cough arm is still aote, that's been 10 days now Confused

Think a nice hot bath and an early night is in order!

hazandduck · 24/11/2019 15:43

Oh yes a bath will help, and if you can after the bath do some stretches, pull your knee up and across the opposite side of your body, I’ve been doing this and it has massively helped my sciatica!
