I've refused my GTT, I have reactive hyperglycaemia so bombing myself with sugar does not appeal, I'm lucky I can take my BM whenever I need to though so I monitor it regularly.

It is a choice girls though remember that!

bessie84 · 02/11/2019 22:54

@doublebarrellednurse - how scary. Has bleeding stopped now? Hope your ok.

bessie84 · 02/11/2019 22:57

Today 27+6 - ive ballooned past couple of weeks, like really fast! Im super uncomfy.

Dweebette · 03/11/2019 07:41

@doublebarrellednurse you poor thing, that must have been so scary. Hope you're getting to put your feet up this weekend and let DH take over so you get some rest. It's horrible feeling like life is out of control hectic.

@bessie84 what a gorgeous bump pic! I'm 23+2 and only now starting to look definitely pregnant and not just bloated. I'm enjoying the bump but not the discomfort!

doublebarrellednurse · 03/11/2019 08:40

@bessie84 @Dweebette you're so cute thank you, all settled now and no more pain, not sure really what happened.

@bessie84 I feel tiny in comparison! I swear I had a poo yesterday and lost half of it! (Constipation life). I'm 23+6!

@doublebarrellednurse - so glad its stopped. Maybe your body telling you to slow down. Your bump is wonderful, wish i was like you. 😍

@Dweebette - thank you. I think i look shocking. Im very paranoid of how i look, peoples comments on how massive i am and that im having a huge baby. Made me a bit sad.

X

Dweebette · 03/11/2019 09:05

@bessie84 your bump is beautiful and you're doing a great job of growing that baby. I will never understand why people feel the need to comment things like "oh it must be a big one" or "are you sure it's not twins", so rude. Chubby babies are adorable so even if it is big who cares. Also, my friend was much bigger and her baby came out just over 6lbs, just had loads of fluid.

LolaLollypop · 03/11/2019 09:08

25 weeks today and I keep being told how tiny I am. I know I do have a small bump, I also carried my daughter quite small too but she always measured "normal" and was born at 6lb 12oz so an average weight. Both me and my husband were born around 7lbs so it fits with our makeup.
Having an extra scan next week (not growth related) so will be nice to get a check up and make sure this baby is growing ok.
This pic was last week 24 weeks

doublebarrellednurse · 03/11/2019 15:05

@LolaLollypop that makes me feel better, am 24 weeks tomorrow and am even a little smaller than you (when I've not got a full stomach 😂), so different to carrying my son who I was a whale with. It's made me a bit paranoid how much people are saying I'm smAll!

NatzCNLS · 04/11/2019 12:07

Sorry for the disappearing act - I lost the thread and have only just figured out how to find it again! @45andfine thank you for your reply, congratulations on number 5!! I am already being asked if we will have another one after this so that the baby will have a sibling to grow up with as her sisters are so much older - it's a firm no from me! Smile
I hope everyone else is well. I am 27 weeks now and am begining to regain my energy. Had a UTI so am taking some strong antibiotics which have worked a treat. Baby is not as vigarous with her spins now, but still in a little disco diva, and loves to give me a big thump if I sit down for too long - not a bad thing as I need to keep moving due to the SPD.

NatzCNLS · 04/11/2019 12:12

I was told within 10 minutes of each that I was huge by one school mum, and tiny by another - I believe we are all the size we are meant to be! I am loving seeing all these lovely baby bumps - gotta say I am loving having a bump again. As I thought my youngest would be our last I never thought I would get to experience all the wriggles and kicks that come with being pregnant - despite all the SPD pain, lack of sleep and exhaustion, I am loving carrying a baby again.
We are so stuck for names though! 4th girl, and our other DD's veto most names we sugget. They all have freinds or people they don't like with our nae suggestions.
Have many of you got a short list yet?

LolaLollypop · 04/11/2019 12:27

@doublebarrellednurse yes it does make you a bit paranoid doesn't it!! People keep on oggling my bump saying "OMG you're TINNNYYY!" and asking if my daughter was a small baby! I'm sure I'll pile on the pounds over Christmas lol

@NatzCNLS we don't know if we're having a boy or a girl but I have a top name of each sex - husband hates both but I know I can work on him!!

I've told a few people only to be met with "Oh that's the name of so-and-so's dog" or "sounds a bit chavvy" eye roll

It's so hard to please everyone!

bessie84 · 04/11/2019 12:46

@Lolalollypop - ive had that too. "Eurgh thats a dogs name" mainly by mother in law. Shes been a bit (a lot) of a cow with comments. Names, my size ect. We're not telling her or anyone the name we've finally chose til hes here cos i get balled off with comments.
Pffft x

NatzCNLS · 04/11/2019 14:06

We're also keeping quiet on the name front with family and friends as everyone seems to have an opinion. So when we finally decide - or at least get a short list - we won't say anything. DH has suggested a couple of really beautiful names, but not sure if they are a bit too out there. Our other DD's don't have what you would call popular names and aren't extreme, but so many people have said to us - 'your girls names are so unique, I can't wait to hear what this one will be called' - no pressure then! Hmm

My inlaws can't help but mention my size every time I see them too... and my age... and how I am suffering because of both... Angry They think they are being hilarious, I just calmly tell myself it is impolite to slap the elderly! Grin

bessie84 · 04/11/2019 14:46

@NatzCNLS - LAUGHED out loud then. They can be so rude.

doublebarrellednurse · 04/11/2019 20:51

We are keeping mouths shut on names too. Everyone has a fucking opinion.

hazandduck · 04/11/2019 21:22

I agree, people are so unbelievably rude about names and about the size of your bump! I get such mixed comments about being massive or ‘neat.’ All I know is I am already majorly uncomfortable and hate bending down to pick stuff up 😂 My bump actually hurts this time round! It’s just so solid and achy.

MIL doesn’t like our top boy name. She’s never expressly said it but when we had Dd we were going to use the boy name and she kept asking ‘Will it still be that if it’s a boy?’ And now we again don’t know what we are having, she keeps telling us we have to call the baby George if it’s a boy because Dd loves George from Peppa Pig so much. She even says to her ‘do you want a little George??’ I love the name but her insistence is putting me off it!

I hate the whole ‘that’s a stripper/dog name’ thing. It’s so rude! Or worse ‘oh but they’ll get bullied.’ It says way more about the person judging someone for their name!

How is everyone feeling??

sulkysukey · 05/11/2019 11:34

We haven't started thinking about names yet, think we'll prob leave it to the last minute!

Feeling sorry for myself today - have such a bad cold, was up all night with my throat, so bad I could barely swallow. Checked by GP today and no fever so likely just a cold, so she did my flu jab at the same time so now I have a sore throat and arm and feeling worried about the baby with all this immune stimulation.

No work for me for the rest of the week so am trying to enjoy just doing nothing and watching crappy telly in bed.

Hope everyone else is managing to avoid the winter lurgees. 😷

hazandduck · 05/11/2019 16:18

Oh no @sulkysukey hope you feel better soon :( I’ve not had my flu jab yet I keep forgetting!

I am struggling a lot with sciatica and just general ache across my bump, it hurts just picking stuff up. We’ve had lots of work done the last month or so at our house which has basically made every room upside down 😩 I have had the week off trying to organise it all but it takes ages because I don’t want to carry too much at a time. DH and I worked til gone 12 last night, and DD woke up at 4am. Sooo tired but I can’t bear this chaos so I’ve had to plod on today! I keep telling myself it’ll be worth it but I just want to throw all our stuff away lol.

bessie84 · 05/11/2019 17:00

Had my growth scan. Hes a big one. Big head. Big belly. Normal femurs. Hes transverse which is super uncomfy. Hes currently estimated at 3lb 1oz at 28+2 - and if he follows his curve on chart, he should be between 8 to 9lb when hes born at 37-38 weeks. Eekks. All my babies except my son have been fattys.

My diabetes results are normal. My 28 week bloods are good too. Another growth scan in 4 weeks.

Taneve · 05/11/2019 18:06

Hi All,

I am 25weeks pregnant with Twin Boys. I feel super huge! my DD is the 16/02/2020 but will probably be in brought in weeks earlier at 36weeks. I am nervous but also excited to meet them. I had my Gestational Diabetes Test yesterday but have been advised if I receive no call all is well, (so no news is good news!). My last pregnancy (10yrs ago) I was huge!! But I also get "oh you are small for twins but i have noticed at night I get so big! The Twins currently weigh 1.1lb and the other 1.5lb which is average weight for twins at 25 weeks.

sulkysukey · 06/11/2019 09:46

Thanks @hazandduck and @bessie84 glad to hear everything's looking good for you. With my previous two the sonographers have always said "do big heads run in your family"? Not exactly what you want to hear when you're about to give birth! Welcome @Taneve glad everything with your twins is looking good 😊

Cupcakes1234 · 06/11/2019 17:07

Caught a glimpse of myself last night and was a little surprised by how much I've grown! My friend keeps saying are you sure it's or twins and someone else from work commented I'm really small. I don't really care about my bump size but it never ok to comment on it! I'm 25 weeks and 4 days today. We've not really discussed names but we both hate everything the other one suggests so she won't have a name until after she's born lol. I'm finding I get a couple of days where she's super active followed by a day or 2 where she quieter. I'm not overly worried as it could just be her pattern as she moved all day yesterday.

Eyre89 · 07/11/2019 11:31

I'm also going to have the gestational diabetes test as bmi was 30. I feel huge yet my bump is measuring perfect size 26cm at 26 weeks. But I'm fed up of people saying I'm huge and acting shocked I'm not due until 9th Feb. I don't know why people feel the need to comment on women's size.

I just weighed myself and I've actually only gained just under 8lbs so maybe it's just all on my stomach.

On the plus side the breathlessness has subsided a little. But I get the worst stitches if I try and walk at my normal pace. I'm 26 +4 today and the school run made me ache all across the right and underside of my bump.

Can anyone recommend a good support band?

hazandduck · 07/11/2019 13:36

@Eyre89 they wouldn’t comment if someone wasn’t pregnant, yet at a time when you’re hormonal, vulnerable and generally the weight gain is totally out of your control, people not only feel compelled to comment, they act as if you actually want their bloody opinions. I hate it. Makes me want to hibernate for the next 3 months.

I’m 27 weeks today! And feeling crap with crippling sciatica. It gets better as the day goes on but the mornings are awful, yesterday was so bad I couldn’t even walk to the toilet I was just crying and my Dd looked really sad watching me saying ‘poor mummy.’ :( I feel very grateful for my DH when it’s bad like that!
