double I'm ok emotions wise at the moment but have had a couple of teary wobbles over the last couple of months! I'm suffering with spots and brittle hair** instead - not sure where my pregnancy glow is hiding 🤔

Had the 20 week scan today, was soooo nervous but the sonographer saw everything she needed as was happy with it all, so feeling slightly more relaxed. We didn't want to find out the sex but she referred to the baby as 'he' a few times so I guess we're thinking more boy now!?!

lovesT · 27/09/2019 08:53

@Cupcakes1234 good luck with your scan today! What time is it?

We are sitting waiting for ours now, I have a consultation after for heart palpitations a while ago so they're just checking things. Feeling excited but nervous! They're a bit late calling us in so could be any minute now ...

Cupcakes1234 · 27/09/2019 09:00

Thank you so much @lovesT it's at 3.30 this afternoon. We purposely asked for it later my partners parents to have our son. I'm so nervous she has turned into a he 😂.

Good luck at yours too. I hope everything goes ok for you!

hazandduck · 27/09/2019 09:56

Good luck for the scans today!

@Cupcakes1234 that exact scenario happened to my friend! Told her it was a girl at a private scan, then at the 20 week she was a he! Hopefully not the case for you.

@sulkysukey it could mean nothing, I think a lot of them use ‘he’ as default rather than saying ‘it.’ Glad all was well :)

Anyone having problems...erm...going to the toilet yet 🙈Blush I had it way later with my daughter!

sulkysukey · 27/09/2019 13:59

@lovesT hope your scan and appt went well. @Cupcakes1234 good luck for yours too. It's amazing the detail they can see!

@hazandduck yes to the toilet trouble - mine's not too bad yet but getting there 😐 Also getting bleeding gums brushing teeth. Oh the glamour!

hazandduck · 27/09/2019 14:32

Yes the details are just insane...seeing the valves of the heart...the sonographer said it was about the size of an adult thumbnail...crazy I could just see it thumping away. And even just seeing the lips and the nose so clearly and the feet...just all of it is incredible.

Haha glad it’s not just me! It’s probably my current diet of biscuits, hula hoops and lemonade lollies stodging me up tbf 🤣

hazandduck · 27/09/2019 14:53

I managed to catch the baby on film kicking last night! Can’t believe the force of some of these whacks, takes my breath away sometimes x

doublebarrellednurse · 27/09/2019 15:38

@hazandduck me too 🙈 I don't go everyday normally but now I'm lucky twice a week. Chugging water seems to help.

lovesT · 27/09/2019 16:12

The scan went well thank you 😊 I'm going to have bloods taken for palpitations but they're not worried, just said that they're always overly caution in pregnancy so good to do some checks.

It was amazing to see our baby, sooo much more detail! We had to have a walk around (and some chocolate) to get baby to move so they could see the heart and face better, but everything looked fine and the scan was much longer than last time!

Also, I decided to find out with my husband and we are joining the 💕 club!

thecherryontop · 27/09/2019 17:41

Hi everyone, is anyone else feeling overly anxious? -I'm 20 weeks but don't have my scan until next Thursday. I just feel so worried and anxious about it. Not sure I've felt any movement yet (it's my second) although I was overweight before I found out I was pregnant. I had a MMC last year and get worked up about scans or anytime they listen for a heartbeat.....

Cupcakes1234 · 27/09/2019 18:35

Back home from my scan and everything is perfect and she's still a girl lol 😍💗. More relieved that she's absolutely fine though obviously all growing well and perfect

hazandduck · 27/09/2019 20:30

Ah yes I was terrible in my first pregnancy @thecherryontop I had counselling for my anxiety and was still beside myself after two miscarriages, it is hard to believe it will be ok.

Focus on one milestone at a time. I definitely relaxed a bit more after 24 weeks but then went super anxious in the last month or so. You know your body can do this as it is your second. I used to sing the Killers ‘Everything will be alright’ to myself as a sort of mantra to calm me down!

This time I’ve not been anywhere near as bad. Had a couple of wobbles but feel totally different this time. Lean on your midwife if you can, a good one can make all the difference when you’re anxious xx

hazandduck · 27/09/2019 20:32

Lovely news on the good scans too @lovesT and @Cupcakes1234! More girls!

@doublebarrellednurse I need to keep reminding myself about the water! Haha it’s bad isn’t it 🙈😂 It was even worse when I was pregnant last time on iron tablets bleugh!

Quirkyquichie · 28/09/2019 21:32

Yay for the girls. I don't know what we're having yet, but ive a feeling we are having a girl.

doublebarrellednurse · 29/09/2019 13:37

How's the weekend all?

We are starting to get sorted out, we have a cot built and the nursery is pretty much there just need to fill it with stuff now!

Hubby felt baby girl moving last night 🥰

lovesT · 29/09/2019 14:18

Yes, more girls! My husband really wanted a little girl so we're both very happy :) she's been kicking so much lately which is lovely. @doublebarrellednurse we were given a cot and little matching storage chest so we have also set up a bit :) it's so exciting isn't it! We will get the mattress and other bits in a couple of months but it's so nice to have some things makes it seem more real.

We've decided not to tell anyone whether we're having a boy or girl (much to the disappointment of my sister and MIL Grin ) but we went out to buy some clothes the day of the scan which felt really special :)

Glad to see that everyone is doing well :)

hazandduck · 29/09/2019 14:25

I feel like we are having a girl too but we’ve not found out the sex. Just can see us with two girls!

We are off on our last family holiday as a 3 today. Can’t wait to chill!

We finally bought our first things for the baby yesterday, Sainsbury’s have some cute neutral bits and a lovely Peter Rabbit range atm.

45andfine · 29/09/2019 23:23

I'm thinking I'm in the girl camp too, already have 4, so extremely unlikely it'll be a boy! Daughter 2 has poured over the scan photos assessing head and 'nub' and concluded the same!

As for nursery, I've no idea where this little one is going to sleep, we are at maximum capacity, so I'm quite jealous of you all decorating xx

I AM crocheting a pram blanket though, it's slow progress, might be ready by the time baby arrives! 😄

Cupcakes1234 · 30/09/2019 09:15

I'm still not feeling much at all. I'm 20 weeks now but I know it will come. I know baby girl is perfectly healthy and happy so that's all that matters. Apart from some clothes I have brought we don't have anything organised. She will go into the bedroom that our son is currently in but need to get the second bedroom sorted for him before we can organise that... we go away next week so will get that out the way first.

Dweebette · 30/09/2019 13:45

I'm in the overly emotional and anxious camp at the minute. I'm in a lot of pain (old injury flaring up) so not getting any sleep and I'm super teary. Also just feel so worried that something will go wrong, no basis for this at all though. 20 week scan is next week so I'm hoping that will help me feel less anxious, I'm just sick of crying all the time, I want to feel excited and happy

PixieLoo · 01/10/2019 07:37

Hi all, sorry I haven't been updating much.

I've felt small kicks and movement from about 19 weeks, feel very blessed to be able to feel them this early as a FTM!

Me, my partner and mum went to mothercare and she treated us to a travel system and a car seat. So lucky to have her as there's no chance we'd be able to afford such a nice one on our own! I know it's early but it's getting delivered to her house so don't feel as superstitious 😂

I really hope your weeks brighten up for those who are struggling emotionally and physically, it's a tough old job growing a human so don't beat yourself up for it! 💖

PixieLoo · 01/10/2019 07:37

Also, our 20 week scan is Thursday at 4:30pm! I'm going to be so impatient waiting for that!

tinatsarina · 03/10/2019 20:16

My 20 week scan is Tuesday and I can't wait. Not finding out the gender but I think it might be another boy. Ive heard about skull theory etc so I'll be scrutinising the scan pictures.

Quirkyquichie · 04/10/2019 13:25

Just had my 20week scan, everything looks OK which was a big relief. My first question was where is the placenta? Turns out its at the front, which is why i have barely felt anything. Baby was feet down and wouldn't keep still, yet couldn't feel it until the lady pressed down with the scanner thing. then i felt it up in my side near my back. It was A very weird bubbling feeling.
After having had 3 girls already, and a feeling it was going to be a girl, im actually joining the blue camp!

Quirkyquichie · 04/10/2019 13:36

What travel system did you get pixieloo? They're so expensive arent they? I bought mine 2nd hand back with number 3, and it was immaculate. Ive still got it, but its pink.ive already bought a new car seat for it and the carrycot in a neutral colour (just in case) which i didn't have. Looks like im going have to change the seat now Aswell.
