Due March 2020 - FIRST BABY in late 20's

Hello!
Just wanted to start a new thread specifically for women who are in their late twenties & are having their first baby in March 2020! 🙂
Not trying to exclude anyone just think it will be nice to speak to women who are in the same sort of circumstances as myself. Plus the other March threads are pretty full!

Bit about me:

  • due 28th March 2020
  • 27 years old (DP is 24)
  • was on the combination pill for 12 years
  • been with DP a year and a half
  • SO excited as this is both our first baby (DP's ex had a miscarriage @ 10 weeks a few years ago)
  • feeling nauseous, boobs are killing, weeing loads & having cramps/pains.

Look forward to hearing your stories & sharing this experience with you! 🙂 xx

@Anxietymuch I'm not as far as you so still not showing but from what I've heard, not showing until after 20 weeks is perfectly normal when it's your first because your stomach muscles haven't stretched. Try not to worry! X

Anxietymuch · 15/09/2019 17:56

@eskimod thanks. I work alongside someone else who is pregnant and she is due after me and her bump is massive and I cant help comparing!! X

jlo6308 · 15/09/2019 20:10

@Anxietymuch try not to worry (I know it’s easier said than done as I’m such a worrier!) we’re all very different and as @eskimod said, in you’re first pregnancy it’s really common not to show until later. I’m only 11+5 so no bump over here either and I doubt there will be for a while! I’ve known people not showing at 18 weeks and people showing from 8, everybody is so different as frustrating as it may be :)

Eventrider1 · 16/09/2019 16:57

12 week scan went well today. Phew! Got pushed back by 2 days so now at 12+3 with and EDD of 27th March.

@Eventrider1
What a lovely picture 😊 glad all is good! Congrats! X

lonelyonee · 16/09/2019 20:50

Welcome @Anxietymuch and congrats. Aw don't worry everyone's different it'll happen when it happens, bet you'll just pop one day! I had a colleague at work guess recently as she could tell from my "bump" which I didn't think was in existence (may just be bloat) but I had to confirm I am indeed pregnant 🙄😂
Maybe I am showing cause I'm petite? Not sure! Maybe your colleague is on her second or third pregnancy? Apparently you show sooner!
Wow @Eventrider1 fantastic scan pic!!! Baba is so clear! Very close to my date although they will probably change it at the scan Saturday too haha.

Just wondering how everyone is announcing their pregnancy like on social media? I'm thinking about it but unsure whether partner will approve 😂
Hope everyone is well!!! Xx

Thank you. Baby was very wiggly and kept dancing away while they were trying to measure. Love the fact it is sucking it’s thumb as that is all I did as a baby/small child.
I have decided I won’t be posting any announcement on social media. I have told everyone I want to know face to face or via a message if I am not going to see them soon.

Dinosauraddict · 16/09/2019 21:39

Lovely to see everyone's scans! My bump has officially popped this week, I've gone from a bit bloated to full on very clearly a baby in there, no hiding it at all! Grin

lonelyonee · 17/09/2019 12:21

@Eventrider1 awww, that's so cute! Ahh to each their own I guess I just feel like sometimes I'm the only one who's excited as he shows zero emotion most of the time... drives me mad!
@Dinosauraddict no way! Aww how exciting! I'm still unsure of bump or no bump considering uploading a pic for you guys to judge for me! 😂😂

What's everyone's symptoms now? I'm aching in all sorts of places 🤷🏼‍♀️

OP posts:
Eventrider1 · 17/09/2019 12:49

@lonelyonee I’m still showing up everyday. Seem to get stomach ache every evening as well which is strange. Boobs haven’t been sore at all but my nipples are super sensitive.
Some days I feel like I am showing and other days I think I just look like I have eaten a big meal.

jlo6308 · 17/09/2019 16:22

It’s all so exciting for everybody! We’ve decided that we’ll do something in social media eventually but not until we’ve had the chance to tell all of the people we’d like to tell in person so it’ll probably be a few weeks after. @Eventrider1 I’m with you on the sensitive nipples 🙈🙈 I had a call today, scan on Friday, so excited but a little nervous too!

lonelyonee · 17/09/2019 17:58

@Eventrider1 you mean throwing up? Aww I'm sure it'll ease off soon 🤞🏻 I haven't thrown up today (yay!) so I'm counting that as a win! Just having to sit down more at work as everything hurts 😩 nipples are fine but boobs having been hurting on and off for weeks and they have defo grown quite a bit... (I actually have boobs for the first time ever! 😂).
@jlo6308 yay glad you've got your date that's so close!!!! Yeah I'm with you on that, I'd rather tell people face to face first then leave the rest to a post... if I don't do one some people in the family won't have a clue about it for months as I don't see them!!! 😂😂

OP posts:
uor24 · 17/09/2019 18:49

Has anybody started to get a bump yet? If so when did you start showing?🤔

SLT90 · 17/09/2019 21:47

I've had a great couple of weeks with no symptoms but the last two days have felt a bit queasy, tired and have had a bad headache. Boobs are back to being sore too. I can only assume it's some sort of hormone surge happening!

@uor24 I would say I started showing a bit more around 13 weeks (13+5 now). Just feel like I've gained a little round tummy this week. I can definitely feel the curve of my uterus just below my belly button if I move my hand across my tummy. Mind you, it's still hard to tell what is bump/bloat/weight gain from eating!!

Dinosauraddict · 18/09/2019 05:09

@lonelyonee I'm getting boobs for the first time too!
@uor24 my bump came out around 14 weeks, I'm now 15+1 and it's really obvious, hard and 'out' there...

lonelyonee · 18/09/2019 13:54

@SLT90 aww yeah might be hormones, fingers crossed it sods off soon!

@Dinosauraddict hahaha it's great isn't it! I'm just gutted they won't be around forever 😩
Defo hard to tell what's bump and what's bloat, although I'm still struggling to eat much so not sure I can be bloated off just water 😂🤷🏼‍♀️
Saturday needs to hurry up now I'm getting impatient! Just wanna see baba on the screen!

OP posts:
lonelyonee · 18/09/2019 14:01

Sod it here's a pic of "bump". This photo was taken first thing in the morning so no opportunity for meal bloat!
For reference I was 12+2 here 🙂

@lonelyonee you're slim and I can defo see a little bump 😊

I had my scan today. She was pressing really hard on my belly! Didn't expect it to be that uncomfortable! Maybe it was because of my flab 😂 but heart beat was seen and it had a little wiggle. She put me back a day from what I calculated so my new due date is 28th March 2020.

lonelyonee · 18/09/2019 22:44

@eskimod yeah well I've lost a lot of weight due to nausea and not being able to eat much. A few people who haven't seen me for a while commented on how much weight I've lost and that they were concerned... I just told them I'd been unwell (not a lie! Aha!).
I'd have expected to look like that after a big meal but like I said that was first thing in the morning so 🤷🏼‍♀️ who knows!
Going to break the news to coworkers next week after my scan Saturday, some already know but the majority don't. That's if I make it through telling my sister (god help me!).

OP posts:
lonelyonee · 18/09/2019 22:47

@eskimod btw that scan is sooo good! Really fab! My edd from my calculations is 28th! So we shall see what's said Saturday. Pressing hard? Oh Jesus! Maybe sonographer was struggling to find baby? The last scan I had I'm sure it was fairly gentle, apart from that horribly cold gel! So exciting though! Glad everything is well with baba!

OP posts:
jlo6308 · 19/09/2019 19:19

Definitely a little bump there @lonelyonee, and congrats on the scan @eskimod! I’m just starting to feel nervous/anxious about mine tomorrow. I think because I’ve had barely any symptoms it still doesn’t feel real, just hoping everything is ok tomorrow 🤞🏼

lonelyonee · 20/09/2019 14:24

@jlo6308 you reckon?! Aww I'm sure it will be, taking of which how's your scan gone?
Mine's in the morning I'm so excited!

How is everyone else? 🙂 hope you're all well! xx

OP posts:
jlo6308 · 20/09/2019 16:31

Yes! Scan was great thanks, everything all as it should be, so much to see compared to the little dot at 6 weeks! Due date has moved to 2nd April so not a March baby anymore, still going to tag along on this thread though if that’s ok 😂 good luck for tomorrow @lonelyonee!

lonelyonee · 20/09/2019 17:39

@jlo6308 aww that's fantastic 🙂 booo longer to wait! I wouldn't be surprised if they do that to me as well so don't worry! Can you post a pic? 🙂

OP posts:
jlo6308 · 20/09/2019 21:23

Here it is! I also had to empty my bladder as it was too full and the baby was all squished up 😂 so my advice is make sure your bladder’s full, but not full enough that you feel like you’re going to wee every time you walk 😂
