Due March 2020 - FIRST BABY in late 20's

lonelyonee · 24/07/2019 13:55

Hello!
Just wanted to start a new thread specifically for women who are in their late twenties & are having their first baby in March 2020! 🙂
Not trying to exclude anyone just think it will be nice to speak to women who are in the same sort of circumstances as myself. Plus the other March threads are pretty full!

Bit about me:

  • due 28th March 2020
  • 27 years old (DP is 24)
  • was on the combination pill for 12 years
  • been with DP a year and a half
  • SO excited as this is both our first baby (DP's ex had a miscarriage @ 10 weeks a few years ago)
  • feeling nauseous, boobs are killing, weeing loads & having cramps/pains.

Look forward to hearing your stories & sharing this experience with you! 🙂 xx

Oh wow! Such a good pic! Look at baba! ☺️ ahhh yeah I was just saying to my partner I need a full bladder... going to be difficult to figure out whether to go when I get up or hold it... appointment is at 9.50am so 🤷🏼‍♀️ either way I'm sure they'll advise like they did you 🙂🙂🙂

So exciting, still feels very surreal though! I’m going to start buying little bits now to spread the cost which is really exciting! Enjoy your scan this morning @lonelyonee!

lonelyonee · 21/09/2019 11:52

So guys had my scan this morning and WELL... baby was very very naughty and just wanted to curl up and go to sleep! Took us a while to get baby to turn the right way and stretch out enough to get a measurement.
Baby even was punching me in disgust I think! Haha! 😂
They've moved my due date forward to 25th March so I'm 13 weeks 3 days.
Here's a couple of the photos for you 🥰🥰🥰

Hello all mummas,

I'm Katie from London, 23 & pregnant with my first baby. My partner and I are expecting a baby boy March 1st!!
We have had a scan at 16 weeks & are planning on booking our 20 week health scan, although we having had any tests done yet,... I hope this is ok? (mumma nerves)

Xx

eskimod · 22/09/2019 15:53

Hi ladies, hope you're all well!
Just a quick one, how much weigh have people lost/gained?
I'm only 13 weeks but have already lost 11lbs! X

jlo6308 · 22/09/2019 16:25

Aww they’re great photos @lonelyonee, we also had an awkward baby which was quite funny, just kept rolling the other way every time she tried to do the measurements! Not sure about the weight @eskimod, sure I’ve put a bit on but I was on holiday for almost 2 weeks in August so I know there’s a bit of holiday weight in there too 🙈

lonelyonee · 23/09/2019 14:05

Thanks @jlo6308 🙂 I know right I couldn't stop laughing which wasn't helping either!

@eskimod I'm not sure exactly how much I've lost but it feels like a lot, especially since people have mentioned it to me as they've noticed. I wouldn't worry too much, I've only just got my appetite back so hoping from 14 weeks onwards the weight will stack on.

Welcome @MummaJaney March 1st eh! You're probably the furthest along on this thread then. I take it you've had your dating scan then? Is the 16 week one private to find out gender early? I'm unsure whether to bother tbh. Congrats btw!

How's everyone else doing?

Hi everyone, just managed to find this thread again it had disappeared out of my 'I'm on' section! Anyway, my major update is that I'm having A BOY! Grin Found out yesterday! Haven't caught up on full thread yet but hope everyone else is doing well!

Dinosauraddict · 26/09/2019 21:44

@lonelyonee have you told your Dsis now? How did it go?

lonelyonee · 27/09/2019 14:48

Awww @Dinosauraddict I tagged everyone to make sure everyone was included 🙂 massive congrats on finding out you're having a boy! Did you have a private scan then? Exciting!!!
Yes she knows now, my dad made me call her and tell her and after the initial shock (silence down the phone followed by lots of questions) she's actually very into it! I'm surprised but happy she's being supportive. She's going to have a bigger shock when she sees the size of me as well! 😂 got much bump yourself?

OP posts:
Dinosauraddict · 28/09/2019 11:01

I'm so glad she's being supportive @lonelyonee! Yes definitely a bump here, my DGM is coming up tomorrow and hasn't seen me since 9 weeks so she'll be very excited. I don't know what is wrong with this thread but most times when I try and click on it, it says thread doesn't exist!

lonelyonee · 28/09/2019 11:22

@Dinosauraddict me too! How lovely, sounds like something to look forward to tomorrow eh! I'm off to my grandmas tomorrow so I'm sure she'll be the same, and she can't accuse me of being fat anymore haha!
Hmmmmm! Maybe that's why the thread is a little lacklustre sometimes, although I just couldn't keep up with the amount of posts on March babies threads as there was so much going on 😂

OP posts:
lonelyonee · 03/10/2019 14:17

Bumping the thread as it seems to have died ☹️

eskimod · 03/10/2019 17:24

@lonelyonee I'm still here! Ive been busy with work but waiting impatiently for next Friday when I've got my 16 weeks appointment and then the following Tuesday we have our early scan!! 😊

lonelyonee · 03/10/2019 17:36

Hey! @eskimod how are you doing? Aww I know I feel like all we do is wait for the next appointment! Mines not for another 2 weeks so I'll actually be 17 weeks that day! Got my 20 week scan on 6th November so only a month to wait for that too! Exciting!
I've created another thread regarding maternity pay and managing finances as I'm panicking about how I'm going to get by!
Hoping to get some good advice about it so if anyone else feels like me pop over there to discuss. It's something along the lines of "Maternity pay- panicking about finances" I think 🤔😂

jlo6308 · 03/10/2019 18:01

Still here @lonelyonee, just plodding on trying not to eat everything sweet in the house and not throw up each time I clean my teeth 🙈. Bump is just starting to show, I was 14 weeks yesterday :) how are you ladies doing?

eskimod · 03/10/2019 18:08

@lonelyonee good idea! Can you age me in it? I'm also starting to worry about it!

I'm doing good. Starting to feel a bit better but I'm still having the odd bit of nausea and still feeling tired.

I'm now 15 weeks. I don't think I'm showing yet and sometimes worry but I only have a little while until my next scan! I don't know when my 20 week scan is yet but my 12 weeks screening test results came back yesterday. Low chance or D and P syndrome which is good. X

DaniX91 · 03/10/2019 18:12

@lonelyonee still here! We're having a little girl 💗 absolutely over the moon! 17 weeks tomorrow. Hope you're all well. Yea maternity pay is a worry isn't it x

lonelyonee · 03/10/2019 18:22

Hey @jlo6308 aww bump is appearing yay! Can't hide mine now people at work keep pointing and saying omg! Haha! Are you still being sick then? I haven't for a while now thankfully, got my appetite back and I'm trying to eat more.

@eskimod yes I'll tag you in a sec! Glad to hear you're feeling better but sad face at the nausea! You might not notice as much as someone else, you should ask someone if they can see a bump! Ahh yeah my results came back so quickly and thankfully all good very very low chances of anything which eased my mind a lot tbf!
Hey @DaniX91 awww congrats on finding out you're having a girl! Doing much better now but yes full scale panicking about how I'm going to pay my bills and pay for baby 😭😭😭

DaniX91 · 05/10/2019 09:16

@lonelyonee it must be lovely to not have to worry about money mustn't it. The bloody smart meter for the gas and electric is giving me anxiety now that the weather has turned colder. I keep looking at it and saying to my boyfriend "imagine how much it's going to be when the baby is here and the heating has to be on all of the time" 🙈
I'm sure we'll all manage though, when I was speaking to my friend about trying for a baby I told her that my only worry was finances (my boyfriend is self employed so we never know what his wage will be from one week to the next, I am the main earner but I want to go part time once baby is here) and she said not to worry because it always works itself out in the end 😊 x

HighOnStilts · 10/10/2019 16:26

Hey all! Hope all you lovely ladies are well. It's so exciting seeing everyone elses scans and knowing you all have healthy babes! I remember being worried sick before my 12 week scan, wondering how baby was doing (or worrying if there was one even in there!!!)

I had my 16 week MW appointment on Tuesday, the MW used a doppler (she said if I wasn't so slim she wouldn't have even tried) anyway, she found babies heartbeat pretty much immediately, and it was STRONG! My fiance nearly cried, he's been more worried than I.

I've been struggling immensley with constant nausea, I'm 16+4 now and still not showing! Trying to force more food down me when I'm feeling a little perkier but sometimes I end up regretting it instantly. I'm very lucky I'm not working at the moment as I really don't know how I'd cope day to day, I know I sound pathetic! Take my hat off to you mommas who are still working!

I'm interested to know what prams you all have your eyes on?!
I've got my heart set on the Stokke Xplory V6, think I've finally convinced my OH lol although I think he's going along with it for a quiet life! Wink

Sending lots of love! X

georgia19ox · 10/10/2019 16:36

my 22 so quite young - with a planned pregnancy.. im due 10th march with 1st baby been with my boyfriend 2 years and just brought our first house over the moon!!
Would love to talk to some other mums due same time as me my ig is girlygee555:)

jlo6308 · 10/10/2019 18:05

@HighOnStilts we’re still in the pram discussion phase, I’ve seen a couple of lovely ones. I’m not about brands but would rather pay more for decent quality that will last as if quite happily use it again if we had another later down the line! Interested to know other people’s choices, I think I’m going to go to one of the mothercare or mamas and papas baby events to try some out!

HighOnStilts · 10/10/2019 19:15

@jlo6308
Yeah those events seem like a pretty good idea! Mothercare sell the Stokke range but my local branch didn't have them on display which was a bummer as I really wanted to take one for a spin.
Some prams are huge, my partner calls them transformers, lol! Also my OH is 6ft 3 and the Stokke Xplory is pretty high in comparison to other prams we've looked at. X

lonelyonee · 10/10/2019 22:35

Oops! Sorry ladies been super awol!
@DaniX91 don't remember reading your post but may have seen it? Damn baby brain!
It would be great not to worry about money but I am not blessed in that department. Shocking how little money you get, it really is! Yeah which funnily enough makes me so happy because I'm always cold and it'll give me an excuse to have the heating on instead of freezing in my onesie, fluffy socks and throws haha 😂 oh bloody hell, I don't think I'll be able to do part time I just won't be able to afford it at all.
Hey @HighOnStilts ! Doing well thanks, glad your midwife appointment went well and you got to hear babies heartbeat! That's amazing! Oh goodness, my nausea is long gone at this point but I remember TOO WELL what it was like so I feel for you. I struggled at work during that time tbh it was horrific and I'm not quite sure how I did it! Feeling better now though so it's much easier. Just take it easy and eat what you can!
Pram wise I'm thinking travel system that includes isofix base and car seat. Unsure on brands etc but me and my sister are planning on going shopping later in the year to have a look as she's offered to buy it for us (I'm very thankful as I can't afford much).
@jlo6308 I'm full on in the panicking I don't know what we're gonna name the baby stage! We don't have many names and I know it's going to be so difficult because we're both very opinionated and stubborn strong minded.
I'm trying to figure out the best places to try out prams etc... you've gotta have a try before you buy with these things I'm sure! Needs to be lightweight if going in and out of car but have enough room in the basket for everything?! Madness!!!!
Anyone got any names on the go or lists yet?

Hope everyone is well! Maybe we should do a little refresh update on where we all are? Let me know what you think ☺️ xx
