Due March 2020 - FIRST BABY in late 20's

lonelyonee · 24/07/2019 13:55

Hello!
Just wanted to start a new thread specifically for women who are in their late twenties & are having their first baby in March 2020! 🙂
Not trying to exclude anyone just think it will be nice to speak to women who are in the same sort of circumstances as myself. Plus the other March threads are pretty full!

Bit about me:

  • due 28th March 2020
  • 27 years old (DP is 24)
  • was on the combination pill for 12 years
  • been with DP a year and a half
  • SO excited as this is both our first baby (DP's ex had a miscarriage @ 10 weeks a few years ago)
  • feeling nauseous, boobs are killing, weeing loads & having cramps/pains.

Look forward to hearing your stories & sharing this experience with you! 🙂 xx

Hey @jl2345 not doing too bad all things considered! How're you?
We're all moved in... kitchen has been fitted we now just need to tile it to our liking & then sort other parts of the house like baby's room and the bathroom but there's no rush.
Will be washing baby's clothes this weekend along with packing my hospital bag ☺️
I'm also planning on doing a scrapbook of my weekly bump photos along with some other pictures/scans etc...
Oh wow, that's a massive jump! Yeah they really aren't, you won't know how big baby is until they're here so I don't think there's any point guessing or worrying about it tbh.
Oh lovely!!! How was it? What did you wear? Did you take photos? I had my heart set on a dress but it's been out of stock for weeks and I'm losing hope of a re stock 😭😭😭 I'm also struggling to find decor & I'm proper panicking no one will bring cake & I can't afford one! Also my OH has invited half his phone book by the sounds of things so that'll be fun 🙄😂
6 weeks (ish) to go ladies! 👏🏻

That’s great @lonelyonee, sounds like it’s all coming together for you! Oh lovely, hospital bag is on my to do list for next week over half term, will wash the baby clothes to go in it but saving the rest to wash once I’m on mat leave as I know I’ll be going out of my mind (I get bored so easily 🤦‍♀️). Yeah the only thing I’m really interested in for the growth scans is that the blood flow from the cord is as it should be as that’s what they were concerned about. So far so good on that front, apart from baby kept knocking the cord out of the way every time the midwife tried to listen 😂 I had a nice flowery floaty dress from h&m that I just wore with thick black tights and chunky heeled boots, so not too dressy :)
When is your baby shower @lonelyonee?

lonelyonee · 11/02/2020 12:58

@jl2345 hopefully 🤞🏻 now if I could just get the neighbours to stfu!!!
Yeah as long as the blood flow is how it should be! So glad for you that it is. Still nice you get to see baby though as well.
Ahh nice! The one I had my heart set on is STILL out of stock I'm absolutely fuming! I don't know the meaning of casual so I'll be doing all glam! Mines 22nd Feb so next weekend! Frantically searching for a dress now!
On the baby front I'm pretty sure he's grown A LOT in the last 2 weeks so I wouldn't be surprised if at my midwife appointment tomorrow she says he's too big 🙄 he's still moving a ridiculous amount which means I can't get comfy at all anymore. Can't sit on the settee anymore!
How you ladies getting on? ☺️

Hey ladies @jl2345 @lonelyonee @eskimod
So sorry I've not updated on here.. I've had a hectic couple of weeks to say the least 😆
I'm just so happy to hear you ladies and babes are doing well 🥰
Got my midwife appointment on the 21st I feel bloody huge now. Moving into the new house on the 25th as well as having the kitchen delivered and started on... FML. Well on our way to having the house packed up now but I'm aching in places I've never ached before lol. Looking at buying one of those maternity support belts before the moving date and hoping it may offer some relief.. 🙄
What carseats do you ladies have? I still haven't got mine (my sister is paying for it) but with the isofix base the ones I'm looking at are coming up around £250-£300... I know she's not gonna be able to afford that 😳 I'm quite restricted with what I can get also as it needs to be compatible with my Stokke.. argh!

Ahhh I loved my baby shower, even though a lot of people bailed on me. But had a lovely time with close family and friends nontheless. I wore a nude ribbed maternity dress from Boohoo I got in the sale, only cost me £10 and I got loads of compliments. I'm missing getting all glammed up but the thought of putting make up on and dressing up makes me feel sleepy alone at the moment lol.
I'm determined to be back in a size 10 after baby, I need to start my wedding dress shopping! 🙉 xx

jl2345 · 15/02/2020 19:25

Hi @highonstilts sounds like things are finally getting sorted for you! Tell me about it, the aches are just ridiculous 🤦‍♀️ As much as I’ve enjoyed the journey etc. I’m just about done with being pregnant now, the tiredness/aches/general feeling like a beached whale are becoming too much 😂 broken up for half term at least which means a week of rest, packing hospital bag and washing baby clothes. Then just two weeks once I’m back until maternity leave than goodness!
Not much longer now ladies!!

jl2345 · 15/02/2020 19:26

Oh and car seat we have got the Cybex Aton 5 and isofix, it’s the one that came with the travel system. Then we’re planning on getting a 360 spin car seat that will do for a few years when baby grows out of the little one :)

HighOnStilts · 16/02/2020 12:36

@jl2345 same here girl, I'm over being pregnant now, I will miss my bump but her rolls and kicks are getting uncomfortable now!
Oh I bet you cannot wait for your maternity leave to start. How you ladies have coped with work is actually beyond me! Although I think all the stress of buying a house has nearly tipped me over the edge anyway lol.
Our kitchen fitter is starting on starting our kitchen at the beginning of March and says max two weeks but doesn't seem phased by our looming deadline so all being well it'll be finished well before I'm due.
Ahhh I've been looking at the Cybex models actually, the Cybex has a couple of carseats that are compatible with our Stokke with adapters so I may have to look at them 🤔
I still feel so unprepared, there's stuff we still need to buy but we just haven't had time to. I'm sure it'll all come together but right now I'm just stressed 😆 x

DaniX91 · 16/02/2020 17:16

Hi girls! Just an update from me. I've been in hospital since Thursday morning with pre eclampsia and it's been decided that baby will be brought once I'm 37 weeks which is Friday! 5 sleeps then she'll be here 💗 x

HighOnStilts · 17/02/2020 11:04

@DaniX91 Heya lovely! Oh you poor thing! Do you mind me asking how you came to realise you had pre-eclamsia like what were the symptoms?
You're soooooo close to meeting your little one 🙉 are you having a c-section?
Good luck with it all, sending you lots of love! X

DaniX91 · 17/02/2020 12:27

Thankyou @HighOnStilts ❤️ my feet were quite swollen but I didn't really think anything of it. Had my routine 36week midwife appointment at 9.20 on Thursday morning then ended up in hospital an hour later! My blood pressure was really high and I had quite a bit of protein in my wee, so good job I had the appointment!
No unfortunately I'm not getting a caesarean even though I've fought for one as I'd prefer that over an induction. The consultant told me I won't get a caesarean when he came round this morning and I had an emotional breakdown! Think they're feeling sorry for me cos they've let me out on day release 😂 gotta be back on the ward by 7 tonight x

HighOnStilts · 17/02/2020 12:57

@DaniX91 Gosh yeah it's a good job you had your appointment when you did! 😱 well however you have the baby you're in the best hands now, I really do hope everything goes well for you, so jealous that you get to meet yout little baba so soon!
I'm really over being pregnant now, I've absolutely loved it for the most part and had a pretty easy ride but the aches and pains are real now and I'm stressed out with the house move, heads up my arse most days at the moment. I had really awful broken sleep last night so that's completely ballsed my day up so I've just sat and cried. OH is on a speed awareness course otherwise I'd have cried on him instead lol. X

DaniX91 · 17/02/2020 13:03

@HighOnStilts I'm just annoyed cos the other day I was told it's my choice but it clearly isn't. I knows a caesarean is a major operation and not an easy way out but it's annoying that induction could take days then end up in interventions and a caesarean anyway!
Bless u, how many weeks are u now? X

HighOnStilts · 17/02/2020 13:13

@DaniX91 Have they talked you through and induction? I've only read up about it online and admittedly they sound scary and can make the contractions so much more intense, seems like you end up having an epidural with an induction also, or at least it's advised if the pain is too much. I want to avoid any medical intervention and hoping for a waterbirth but you honestly just don't know do you? I might go in there and tell them to give me ALLLLL the drugs going lol!! I can understand why you're pissed off though.

I'm 35+1 today, my due date is 22nd March I just hope she doesn't get too settled in there lol. X

lonelyonee · 17/02/2020 16:22

Oh my god I've missed loads... right!
@HighOnStilts maybe you buy the base and she buys the car seat? Not sure which ones are compatible though!
Ah no way. Swear mines gonna be like a party the rate we're going 😂 although I'm sure someone will be a let down somewhere! At this rate I'll be wearing a black bag because I can't find anything and I'm fuming the one I wanted is STILL out of stock (I even tweeted them but no response 🙄). Oh my gosh I couldn't even imagine wedding dress shopping but you've got a little bit of time to get that sorted eh!
@jl2345 ooo yay half term for you! Don't forget to get some rest eh! I've got the same car seat as well, & doing the same. Will get a car seat that will last a while after he's outgrown this one.
You guys having pure abuse to your ribs now? Swear last night was being kicked and had his feet under my ribs all night ☹️ just trying to get through the next 3 days at work now god help me!
@HighOnStilts you need to emphasise it needs doing ASAP, as it's not okay for a newborn to be around the kind of dust that the kitchen fitting will produce!

@DaniX91 Hey! & oh my gosh!!!! Aww so sorry you're in hospital bet it's a bit shit in there, hopefully they're treating you well though! As if baby will be on the way & could be here the weekend! Exciting! Fingers crossed it's all nice and straightforward for you! 🤞🏻 keep us updated!

OP posts:
HighOnStilts · 17/02/2020 16:42

@lonelyonee Hey chick!!!
Joining you on the rib abuse front lol. I have to keep pushing various limbs from my ribs quite regularly now lol. As for the kitchen, it'll be in well before baby is even due! Plus me and OH will be living at my mums around my due date as she is closer to the hospital.
I'm just finding it so difficult to get into a comfortable position to sleep now, even with a pillow under my belly.. which ends up getting slammed against the wall cause it pisses me off lol. I'm so ready to meet our babes now!!! X

lonelyonee · 17/02/2020 23:18

@HighOnStilts oh yeah I remember you saying! Even so you can use it to make them get their shit together if they're slacking 😉
I know I gave up with the pillows a while ago as it was just making me more uncomfortable (if that's even possible?), so I totally understand!
Have to say I pushed myself way too much at work today, I don't even know where the day went either it was just one of those crazy days! Actually realised at one point oh my god I need to stop else he'll be coming early so I'm going to try to chill out a bit tomorrow. I just know I'm going to be super tired tomorrow as it's not hit me yet 😭
I did see a baby at work today though and it really made me want him here now! Too excited to meet my little man!

We got any names for babies ladies???

OP posts:
lonelyonee · 23/02/2020 18:30

@DaniX91 WHAT HAS HAPPENED. PLEASE TELL US EVERYTHING!

Hoping you and baby are doing well 🥰 xx

OP posts:
DaniX91 · 24/02/2020 08:44

@lonelyonee Sorry it's been manic to say the least!! So I had the first pessary at 10.20 on Friday then a few pains but hadn't dilated when I was examined 6 hours later. So they put another one in at 7 o'clock and I started getting regular pains. At 9 o'clock I had a big gush of blood and the same happened again at 11 so they took me to the labour ward and broke my waters at 1ish. It took a couple of hours to dilate to 2cms then 6 hours later I was at 9! I had an epidural at around 3ish (absolute heaven!) I pushed for 2 hours to find out that baby was facing the wrong way so I was taken to theatre to have a spinal block and forceps. I haven't been well afterwards, more bleeding than expected and my temperature has been high so I'm on antibiotics. But it's all worth it cos our beautiful little girl Daisy was born at 13.56 yesterday weighing 6lbs 8oz 💗 so in love! She's currently under the lamp as she's jaundice and we've noticed she's grunting a little bit and making a strange full body movement very regularly, like startled/jittery so we're hoping to get to the bottom of that x

lonelyonee · 24/02/2020 09:21

@DaniX91 don't be silly you've been busy having your baby! (Was impatiently waiting for an update, so glad you're both okay!). Congratulations on baby Daisy! 👏🏻🎉

Sounds to me like you've done fantastic, you absolute trooper you! Hope you recover easily 🤞🏻
Fingers crossed she'll soon be where she needs to be ASAP & you can both go home 💜
Don't forget to look after yourself too Mama! 😘 keep us updated when you can but concentrate on yourself and your baby girl! xx

Bump update for you ladies, this was taken at 36 weeks 2 days 🥰

Have had pains today like period pains in my front and back... not regular or anything so think it's just Braxton hicks or false labour pains. Baby is definitely getting ready to make his arrival soon!

Hope everyone's well!

jl2345 · 02/03/2020 19:38

Oh yeah goodness @DaniX91 congratulations! Hope you’re recovering and Daisy is doing well?! Lovely bump @lonelyonee, I feel like I’ve ballooned over the last two weeks 😂🤦‍♀️ Had the midwife round today then my next and what should be my last growth scan this coming Friday, along with finishing work for mat leave! Hope you ladies are all ok and not too fed up/uncomfortable :)

lonelyonee · 02/03/2020 21:39

Heyyy @jl2345 how are the scans going? Well I hope! Yeah seems like baby is definitely packing on the weight now eh! Wehay breaking up from work! How are you coping with it? I was soooooo done I'm glad I finished when I did. Super duper uncomfortable at times but not constantly, reckon it depends on how he's positioned and if he's moving.
Is anyone else nesting? I'm 36+5 today and I can't seem to stop doing things atm, I can't concentrate on binge watching Netflix series (although I made an exception for the trials of Gabriel Fernandez, that was absolutely horrific to watch, but enthralling!).
Also have you guys dropped at all? I feel like baby is starting to drop, but he's still doing all sorts under my ribs at night which is frustrating and sometimes legit painful!!

@lonelyonee I am SO ready to finish now and have some time at home to relax and get ready for the baby arriving. Have you finished yet? Growth scans are all going well thanks, the only thing is I’ve had lots of different opinions since initial 16 week appointment with the consultant as to whether they will induce me early/on my due date/let me go naturally.. so hoping that depending on the growth on Friday I should have some definitive answers as to their plan of action but we’ll see! Having a lot of movement and twinges really low down now so I’ll be interested to see if baby is engaged etc at the scan but who knows! How’s the house looking?

lonelyonee · 04/03/2020 22:51

@jl2345 I've been off since the 20th which is still really weird 😂 had the baby shower the 22nd & now I'm slowly sorting baby's room, although I desperately want to paint it ASAP before he arrives!
You don't have long left though do you?!
The house in general is getting there slowly, we still have a lot to unpack and sort through but the main things are obviously in use.
We need to tile the kitchen and have the electrics finished up but it's okay to use so we aren't desperate to do it. OH is waiting on his friend to be free to help him do it (we could be waiting a while).
Glad all is going well! Ahh hopefully you won't have to be induced or anything 🤞🏻 but whatever is best for baby!
Have they not told you yet? Check your notes see what they say!!!

OP posts:
jl2345 · 07/03/2020 10:09

@lonelyonee no, finished yesterday, weirdest but best feeling 🙌🏼 Glad it’s all coming together with the house! Had my growth scan yesterday, baby’s growth is fine however since 32 weeks it’s flipped and is now feet first breech 🤦‍♀️ Got a scan in two weeks to see if it’s turned (consultant said unlikely but they like to check), then booked in for a section the week after if it’s still the wrong way. The low down movements I’ve been feeling are actually it’s feet kicking against my hips and bladder, not it’s head/arms 🤣
