Due March 2020 - FIRST BABY in late 20's

Hello!
Just wanted to start a new thread specifically for women who are in their late twenties & are having their first baby in March 2020! 🙂
Not trying to exclude anyone just think it will be nice to speak to women who are in the same sort of circumstances as myself. Plus the other March threads are pretty full!

Bit about me:

  • due 28th March 2020
  • 27 years old (DP is 24)
  • was on the combination pill for 12 years
  • been with DP a year and a half
  • SO excited as this is both our first baby (DP's ex had a miscarriage @ 10 weeks a few years ago)
  • feeling nauseous, boobs are killing, weeing loads & having cramps/pains.

Look forward to hearing your stories & sharing this experience with you! 🙂 xx

@DaniX91 great picture!

Aw I've got to wait until 13th Nov for my 20 week scan. Can't wait for that to make sure all is good! We had a 16 weeks scan though so know what we're having. A little girly!

Has anyone started buying anything yet? X

lonelyonee · 30/10/2019 22:09

Hey @Murdoe49 I'm due 25th March. Will be exactly 20 weeks for my scan on Wednesday.

@DaniX91 Amazing pics! 🥰 I'm all good thanks, you? Just VERY excited and impatient for the scan!

@eskimod aww lovely congrats, I've only bought white basics and not many of them, a 2 pack of lansinoh bottles oh and a pack of water wipes, that's it really. But because we don't know what we're having we're waiting to find out first really.

Thankyou @eskimod and @lonelyonee 😊 you will both fall in love at the 20 week scan, it's amazing seeing everything in such detail! Aw we're having a little girl too 💗.
It's my birthday on Saturday and my boyfriend has booked a private scan where we'll get a sneak peek in 4D 😍 we're going to go for a full 4D one but u have to be 24+ weeks and I'll be 21 weeks tomorrow so the sneak peek one will do for now, can't wait to see her little face!
I have an anterior placenta but I started feeling kicks on Monday and there's no question that that's what they are now, it's amazing isn't it?! X

terrimack21 · 31/10/2019 11:23

Hello!

First time posting on any thread and a bit late to this thread! Mine (29 years old) and my partners (30 years old) first child due 10th March! Been together 3 years, just mover home and started new jobs when we found out! GREAY TIMING Grin

Had the detailed scan a couple of weeks ago so we decided to find out we're having a girl! The sickness has not been kind to me! Started at about 10 weeks and has been on and off since!

This has not been the lovely glowing craving experience everyone told me it would be when I was growing up! It is a comfort reading this thread and seeing a lot of people in the same boat!

Murdoe49 · 31/10/2019 13:53

@lonelyonee I'm also due 25th March!

lonelyonee · 31/10/2019 18:14

@DaniX91 awww that's amazing I so can't wait! How lovely, that's a great present to have especially when we start not knowing what we want as well (which I never do 😂).
Yeah once you feel them you know what they are... the proper kicks anyway! There's no mistaking them! It's insanity! I just feel bad I can't share it with my partner yet but it is what it is.
@terrimack21 welcome, and congrats on your baby girl! No it isn't is it, no one tells you about all the bad stuff do they! But I'm defo going to be the one to tell my friends the good the bad and the ugly, since I'm the first one to have a baby!
Yup we're all on the same ride to motherhood ☺️☺️☺️
@Murdoe49 NO WAY! How exciting 🥰 due date buddy! 😉

@lonelyonee he kept asking me what I want and I honestly can't think of anything! I said, seeing the baby on my birthday will make it the best yet❤️ and it will! I know, he's been putting his hand on my stomach but it isn't strong enough for him to feel. Hopefully that won't be long though! X

jl2345 · 31/10/2019 19:21

Still here, waiting (not so) patiently for my 20 week scan on 13th! @lonelyonee sure it’s baby moving I can feel as still getting same sensations/feelings two weeks on so can’t imagine it being anything else, just waiting for some proper kicks now but hopefully not long, 18 weeks today 🤞🏼 Is anybody negative blood group? I’m o negative and just had the letter from 16 week blood test to say baby is Rhd positive so Anti D injections for me 👍🏻

lonelyonee · 02/11/2019 09:14

@DaniX91 exactly, I'm the same I'd much rather have something meaningful. & it'll be so lovely for you to see baby on your bday. It's got to be soon surely, I'm sure ice felt kicks from the outside but could just be imagining it! 😂
@jl2345 I know right I've been counting down the days like a right little saddo 😂 definitely is baby moving then, don't question yourself!!! No I'm pretty sure I have the most common one so not had any concerns regarding bloods but I'm sure they know what they're doing.

Talking of needles... has anyone had their whooping cough/flu jabs yet? Or are you not having one or both for whatever reason?

I'd love to know as I've heard some VERY diff opinions on them.

I personally will only be having the whooping cough. I don't believe in the flu jab... multitude of reasons I'm happy to discuss if you like. Let me know your guys thoughts 👍🏻

OP posts:
eskimod · 02/11/2019 11:15

@lonelyonee I haven't had the jabs yet. I have a massive needle phobia but obviously know they're important and need to get them.
I'm classed as high risk so have been advised to get the flu job. I'm a teacher and so work with lots of children.
I'd love to know your views about it though...

jl2345 · 02/11/2019 12:16

I’m in the same position @eskimod, and I’m in early years where there seems to be all of the germs so anything that may help me avoid some is a positive! Had the flu jab about a month ago, felt fine afterwards, no side effects. Whooping cough at 20 weeks :)

lonelyonee · 02/11/2019 14:12

@eskimod @jl2345 yeah you're in prime germ location around all the kiddies!
I just know I have a high immune system and never get ill so taking the chance that the vaccine will trigger an immune response and make me unwell for a few days just seems really unnecessary. I am by no means an anti vaccer but the flu one is one I just cannot get behind!
Obviously everyone has different opinions and if you think different that's cool, you do you boo 🙂
Whooping cough I will though because that's important for baby, and quite frankly it's not about me in that instance. Need to phone doctors and get it booked actually! Hoping it's an easy one to have though 🤞🏻

Hey ladies! How are we all getting on? I was struggling to find this thread again argh! Sad

I'm 20 weeks now.. honestly do not know where the time has gone! We've got our 20 week scan tomorrow... I'm so excited I could literally pee my pants, lol!!!!
We we're a bit naughty and had a nub theory prediction done from 'the nub wisperer' it came back as a girl, deep down we're hoping for a girl but are going to be over the moon either way!!

I'm showing now (starting to actually look preggo and not just bloated) even my belly feels weird when I bend down now and baby gives me a kick if I do lol. I've got a very active baba at the moment but her kicks haven't been strong enough for my other half to feel yet which I know is starting to get to him a bit, poor lad. Thankfully my nausea has completely gone now and my apetite has returned but if I have a big meal I end up being bloated and uncomfortable for ages.. can't win!

Hope you are all doing well and your babas are wriggling about! ❤

lonelyonee · 04/11/2019 17:53

Hey @HighOnStilts !!! I don't know whether the thread is broken somehow or what 🤷🏼‍♀️☹️
Ooo yay on the scan tomorrow. Got mine Wednesday and I'm just as excited as you! Literally could bounce off the walls I'm so excited! I tried doing the nub theory myself and it looks like a boy for me which is what we are all guessing!
Glad you're feeling good now and baby is moving lots! I'm having the same, lots of movement and kicks which I don't think will be long until DP can feel them as they seem so strong sometimes! Yeah enjoying the eating but like you said there is a limit to feeling comfortable ☹️
Have you done any of the old wives tales? I think I'm gonna give them a go tomorrow before my scan see what's what 😂

OP posts:
HighOnStilts · 04/11/2019 20:51

Hiya @lonelyonee!! Glad you're doing well. Oh my you must be so excited too!! 🤩
We couldn't actually see the nub on my scan photo but the lady who did our prediction managed to analyse the fetus and was certain it's a girl! I'll attach a pic!
Also to do with bladder position as well apparently!

Do you feel like baby is bouncing on your cervix sometimes? I get a sudden throbbing in my vag and I'm like 'oh that's baby using my cervix as a trampoline!' 😂 X

HighOnStilts · 04/11/2019 20:57

This is the prediction I got! X

Due March 2020 - FIRST BABY in late 20's
terrimack21 · 05/11/2019 11:33

Had my 22 week appointment with the midwife today which was great for putting my mind at ease, I keep seeing lots of people and articles about when you should be feeling movement but I haven't felt anything definite which was making me very anxious and worried! (Anyone else like this about babys movements?) But we listened to the heartbeat today and baby girl was kicking the probe plenty so I am definitely more at ease!

lonelyonee · 05/11/2019 21:23

@HighOnStilts how did your scan go?
I've never heard of bladder position before but I have the nub and skull theories.
I just compared nub theories with my scan - attached it for you - and I'm pretty sure it's a big but won't know for sure until tomorrow. No I can't say I've felt that but baby seems to love to sit right up against my skin which is quite uncomfortable. I have had a few sharp pains right through my vagina into my womb though, not sure about those?
Tbf we are just baby's playground now aren't we for the next 20 weeks!!! God help us!

Hey @terrimack21 glad all is going well, strange you've not felt anything yet but everyone's different. Do you have an anterior placenta? I hear that stops you from feeling baby much. As long as you've heard heartbeat that's all that matters. Baby girl is obviously loving womb life 🥰

Hey everyone!! So we had the scan yesterday, it was wonderful! I just want to re-live those mere 20 minutes on the bed again, couldn't take my eyes off the screen! We are having a girl!!!! 💟♀️
She was tucked up at first and made the sonographers life difficult for a while, but then she did a full 180 and laid in a perfect position, couldn't be happier. I've attached some pics for you to have a gander at!

@lonelyonee you will have to tell us what you're having!! I haven't had any sharp pains just a throbbing when she's bouncing on my cervix which is a very bizarre feeling 😂
Hope everyone is well! Xx

HighOnStilts · 06/11/2019 09:25

@terrimack21 I wouldn't worry too much yet about not feeling movement, you may have anterior placenta which means baby will have to be a lot bigger for you to begin feeling anything. My placenta is half anterior and then extends around my side which is why I've been lucky enough to feel movement so early. But trust me, in another month those movements are going to become a pain in the arse, especially when she's booting my bladder and ribs! 😉 but for now, I'm enjoying knowing she's wriggling around in there. X

lonelyonee · 06/11/2019 22:18

@HighOnStilts oh wow great pics! Love the feet ones! Yeah it's was great but like you said it goes way too fast! I could watch baby move around in there all day I reckon 🥰
Congrats on baby girl!

We are having a baby boy! 💙 sonographer was sooo certain and said she definitely saw boy bits 🙊😂 but I couldn't see much 🤷🏼‍♀️
He was being very naughty and wouldn't stay still at all! She was losing the will to live trying to get shots for measurements and stuff at one point I think 😂
Attached the one pic we could get as he was being so naughty! But I'm over the moon that he is all good and growing well and no concerns!
Hope everyone else is well! Looking forward to seeing more scans! ☺️

@lonelyonee Oh honey, your scan photo is amazing too!!! 😍 We paid £8.50 for four photos but the Sonographer gave us the feet one for free cause she said it was so good not too! I totally agree, I could have sat and watched it all day it was incredible. Massive congrats on having a boy! 💙
Our girl wasn't playing ball to begin with but she did a full 180 and kicked the sonographer in the process and then she was able to get her full measurements as she was stretched out. (Asif to say... oh forgod sake here you go then!!) 😆 X

lonelyonee · 07/11/2019 14:50

@HighOnStilts no way, our hospital charges £5 EACH.
Tbh I don't think she could even be bothered to try to get any other angles after he was being so naughty for her 🙄😂
But you can't exactly tell baby what to do can you!!!!
While I was there I had my whooping cough injection... my arm feels like it's going to fall off. Also loved every second of the nurses lecture about why I should have the flu one 🙄

We've announced it now... and people are shocked 😂😂😂 I've never been the type to be all about babies or kids so I don't think anyone thought I'd have one of my own 🤷🏼‍♀️

So next up on our appointments is the midwife appointment where we get our matb1 forms. Madness!!!!
